Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

He was hurting, that much was sure. Slowly coming to a sit, Kiri was trying to regain his focus, put his mind back to where he was and what he was currently doing. Raising a hand over to his forehead, he began to rub it as it he could almost feel as though he suffered a crack somewhere, but all the while, he let his eyes train towards the man before them.

“It’ll take more than that,” said the beast, scoffing at his immature tactic from earlier, “You should have listened to me.”

“I got it, I got it,” answered Kiri, clicking his tongue in annoyance before he looked up at Osu, who was apparently poking him and who seemed rather… incomplete. It surprised him for a moment before he turned his focus back to mission at hand. Surprisingly, he was back on the line, perhaps someone picked him up.

Listening to the other’s conversation, or at least what was left of it since he was still trying to get his head straight, Kiri would soon stand up and hold his uchigatana as tightly as he could. His beast of a brother was egging him to fight now.

“Work as a team. Draw blood. Don’t hold back,” said the voice inside him. “Use me.”

At that point, Osu suddenly changed. Kiri was taken aback as he felt the chakra that was now oozing from the other. It had all sort of malicious intent, almost like his, which made his beast inside enjoy this all the more.

“Will all due respect, Osu-senpai, I may be a swordsman, but I’m more than that,” said Kiri as he took a step forward from the line and let his demonic aura take over [Demonic Aura activates], letting it run wild in the air, though it may not match Osu’s own, but it had it’s own signature feel. And at that point, something would appear on his forehead, with the hood of the cape falling back. A vertical slit along his forehead would suddenly open up and reveal a golden eye, heightening his senses and awareness of the area. [Third Eye activates] “Hoshi, huh? You’re aware of this, so don’t go falling for it and use it to get closer to Junko-sensei.”

Confirming that Junko-sensei would be their main target… he’s main target, he would quickly let all instincts focus into the mission at hand. “Draw blood and kill,” he murmured. [OOC: Duelist targets Junko]

With that said, Kiri would quickly move his hands and perform the handseals [OOC: Nimble hands aiding him] and suddenly pouring out his chakra that made the area about them hazy in what seemed to be a red mist, which could be debilitating to the target at hand. [OOC: uses Mist of Deceit - M]

Then, suddenly, he would expend his chakra further, sensing a stirring from within him. “That’s right. Use me!” howled the beast inside him as he quickly cast a quick technique that sent the shadows of the surrounding area to form beneath Junko before erupting out from the ground in dark tendrils that aim to impale his target. [OOC: uses Black Eruption - R1]

In quick succession, he would then coat his sword with his chakra [OOC: uses Brandish - R1] as he dashed towards the opponent, looking for an opening from their combined efforts, to strike at the man before them. Indeed, the only way to ring that bell was to first get possession of it. And to get it, they must incapacitate the man somehow.

Should he be able to close-in and find an opening, he would then launch a wide arc slash. [OOC: uses Lunar Steps - M]

Smiling on the inside as the lads began to chat, Junko could see that they understood the picture now. No way they'd be able to handle him one on one. They'd have to operate as a team, analyze the situation, and determine the roll they'd take like Combat medics had to do. Now, the only question was.... who was playing what roll?

Being one with the earth, Junko could feel every subtle movement they made as they were connected with the ground. Their heart rates were up and one in particular was quite scared based on the trembling of their feet. Others, were a bit winded, but their bodies pulsed with determination.

Finishing their chat, they all adjusted at the line and Junko was able to set his eyes on the nervous one, Yutaro. Bringing his gun up to ready position, Junko watched as his son was attempting to get more serious. Meanwhile, Osu stepped forward. Unleashing a wicked burst of power, Junko could feel the sinister aura from the curse seal float through the air as Osu began to morph.

"I really don't intend to be disrespectful sensei but seeing as I am forced to do something this horrifyingly disgusting I don't want to waste it on a half-hearted attempt. You should know I dislike anything having to do with my father after all."

"I can respect that." Junko said with a nod before Osu began instructing his team. Watching Kiri take a step back, he began releasing his demon within. It was interesting, but definitely expected. Inhaling deeply and exhaling slowly, Junko decided to enter his stance.

Shifting his hands and feet in a mere instant, Junko became more in tuned with the earth, revealing even more about the three in front of him and the area around them.

Kiri stirred up an odd mist as everyone began making their move. Shots were fired as additional players were added to the game. One was even bold enough to crawl under the very surface Junko was in tune with. Realizing all these different things..... the odds were definitely against him as he entered into the most.

Binning to move, Junko Slapped away the stun grenade before shifting with speed through the un-affecting mist to dodge whatever bullets were coming. An explosion was heard in the distance as Junko could also hear and feel electricity move through the surface to his left as one student was coming from the right. Meanwhile, Osu was delivering his frontal assault.

Focusing in with his rinnegan, the Chakra coils of all of them were still painted clearly and apparently, someone created clones. Jumping backwards, Junko's allowed the clones to collide and get hit with part of Osu's outreach, causing them to disperse into a cloud of smoke.

As Osu still advanced with his attacking tendrils, Junko faced another problem at his feet caused by Kiri unknowingly. Spikes erupted from the ground, impaling his entire body, leaving him dangling like a shish kabob. Simultaneously, that allowed Osu's attack to connect instantly as a full hit, giving both lads a sense of success. Aiming to finish the job and to kill as instructed, Kiri continued by dashing in with jaw dropping speed. Drawing his blade back about to make quick work of the Sennin....... it happen....

Junko's body disappeared into smoke, revealing a simple log. The worst part aside from realizing they didn't really get their target, was the explosive note attached to the log and unfortunately it was too late for the lad to escape. Exploding with a large shockwave, Kiri's fiery body was once again launched through the air. Lucky for the lad though, he was hit with four bullets designed to heal by Yutaro when he noticed the log. Partially effected, Osu took the hit as well, but could probably manage to catch Kiri if he moved fast enough.

Meanwhile, Junko's path would be seen near the original Junko, Hand placed on Hoshi's head as they faced towards the group. Hoshi's hand clenched the string to the bell as the boy would wear a smile upon his face. "Class dismissed." Junko said from his path with a smile as the lad rung the bell.

Claps would begin as a crowd of young orphans had formulated by the training grounds. Excitement filled their eyes as they just finished watching the action movie of the century.

Closing his book, Junko stood and began stretching his original body. Once they were all healed up, Junko would begin wrapping things up. "Yutaro, Hoshi, Kiri, grade yourselves. Tell me what you believe you did right and tell me what you believed you did wrong. Osu, give them their actual grade and finish with your own criticism."

Poof! Poof! The clone to his left and his right had attacked each other. The onslaught was commencing and seemed to be going well. Junko Sensei was on the move and still performing some awesome moves that made some attempts useless without a connection, but successful in deterring the man's position by the bell. After his two clones proofed Junko was in the air impaled and what do you know, yes free shot! His eyes darted from Junko and the bell to make sure Junko wasn't trying anything slick to appear above or behind him and strike him. Sure enough, Kiri and Osu's attacks were striking true, even if some had missed they were enough to distract. The third clone had poofed giving Shouyu a final mental message, "Hey, you got this!" Kiri's attack struck a log, Shouyu's eyes grew wide and stressed. An explosion set off and Kiri was sent flying, but not for nothing.

Ring ring ring ring ring.

Shouyu had grip of the bell and rang it, hovering over the pole with an arm posted on it to keep himself from falling over. He was still huffing and puffing, moving at those speeds expended a little bit more chakra. But, he felt surprised that he got the bell, and hyped at that. A large smile slowly slid across his lips, eyes closes, bangs hovering over his forehead as his laughed almost maniacally. He began to bust up laughing and ringing the bell, as the claps and cheers continued. The kid was overjoyed at one of his first successes.

"Yes! We've done it! Junko Sensei, Osu-San! Hahaha!"

He gave a thumbs up and walked back toward the area where his team would be. His fist was raised in triump as he listened to Junko who revealed the real him soon enough.

He was patted on the head by Junko which made him smile even bigger and snicker again. Sensei wanted them to grade themselves overall and Shouyu felt that was necessary and answered first.

"I am still young, and still managing to control my emotions. Earlier, I did not work as a team, instead I showed selfishness thinking I would be able to distract or even get the bell from you alone. As a Shinobi, ANBU or not, we are to work as a unit, understand each other's strength and weakneasss and back each other up. That is why, our second attempt was successful because we worked in unison! Next time Sensei, I will not be foolish as to rush into a battle where I do not know my opponents strength's and weaknesses. We must always as shinobi, fully asses our current situation and create a strategy. Coming into a battle with a plan is a great positive. Hmmm, I guess, if I could grade myself on a 1-5 basis, I could give myself a 3."

The attempts were successful. His jutsu got hold of the man. Forget about the fact that it seemed easy, he was just too focused at hitting his mark. Killing wasn’t part of his blood but it was part of his soul with the beast egging him on. As so, as he neared the man, he prepared for his swing, letting lose his arm in a wide arc. And surprisingly, he hit it. It.

Poof. The man’s body disappeared and was replaced by a kawarimi target with a tag on it. Before he could even finish reading the inscription of the tag, it suddenly exploded, sending him crashing back, flying into the air and just get the wind knocked out of him from that direct impact. He was partly conscious by the time he felt someone catch him and when he was put back down to solid ground, he managed to regain consciousness but it still felt like his world was spinning for some reason.

Slowly, he would rise and be up on his feet, putting a hand on his head as he heard the ringing of a bell. Looking up, he saw that they managed to do it, though it was Shouyu who did it. A part of him was glad, and a part of him was scoffing at the fact that he didn’t get to do it. Then again, he wasn’t aiming for the bell. All that time, being too focused, he was aiming for the kill.

As such, he knew what to say when they were told to evaluate. “I still lack control, it seems. Moreover, I completely forgot the goal. Instead of aiming for the bell, I was aiming for the kill,” he said, pausing as he tried to catch his breath before glancing at Yutaro, Osu and Shouyu. “Somehow, we managed to pull off coordinated attack, which may have been what helped get the bell. Still, I think I did poorly. I would probably say a 2.” He sighed once more as he sheathed his blade and looked at Osu, “Sorry, Osu-senpai. I wasn’t much of a help.”

Explosive notes, how lovely Osu thought as he retreated to escape the worst of the blast and caught Kiri. At least that bell signaled the end of this class. He let the curse seal do its job again and close, color returning to his space of the world... well mostly. He wasn't looking too good actually and vomited a bit pitch black blood before simply opening his hand and bleeding the tainted crap out of him.

Osu listened to the students assess themselves and then simply said, "If it were up to me, out of the four of us only Yutaro would receive what might be considered a passing grade. Hoshi you mentioned not rushing in and the importance of strategy? Where was that in what you just demonstrated? That wasn't teamwork but directly disobeying orders on the assignment given to you and it directly interfered with my attack. Blood Break is the strongest technique of my bloodline which binds and breaks a person from the inside with their blood and at your current strength if that had been you instead of your clone you could have very well have died from having every vein in your body rupture. Not only that but you assisted the enemy by interfering with my task. Kiri, you are in much the same boat, teamwork isn't about some sense of self satisfaction from contributing a few hits. Coordination is about trusting your squad mates to perform the task assigned to them and doing everything you can to meet their expectations in return. If you are ever given the assignment to focus on healing and you ignore it just because you think that you may be able to get a decent hit in you are jeopardizing your own life and, with two medics on the same squad is rarer than a blue moon, the lives of each and every one of your squad mates. A medic that gets themselves killed is worse than not having a medic to begin with, because it completely annihilates the logistics of the mission... Until you become a fighter among fighters, if you ever draw that sword on an enemy it better be because you are alone, you need to do so to save an ally's life, or because you are going to die anyway. Your actions only served to help due to Hoshi upsetting the initial plan to begin with or you yourself might have been the one to endanger the task. Also you both are idiots for closing the distance with someone much physically stronger and faster than you. Yutaro, practice your aim, a lot, while you were the only one I gave direct permission to attack Junko I did so with the condition of taking out his eyes, otherwise you should have stuck simply to support. I used a rifle a lot myself when I was younger and I can give you some good training regimens to practice if you desire. I don't pass because I could have killed one of my own squad mates with friendly fire, didn't adapt well to a change in the plan, didn't express my intentions clearly enough, didn't plan for the trap, and only had my squad succeed in our task through luck."

Raiden he couldn't bleed this black crap out of him fast enough, it felt as if his veins were a chalkboard and this black blood was just millions of nails scratching on it. A bit of the harshness in his tone came from not feeling very well, and if he were feeling any better he would have put all that in a bit of a kinder fashion, but it was a completely honest assessment. While he felt himself quite capable as a healer this was just another piece of proof that being a squad leader didn't suit him. He could follow orders with precision, and he could assess and advise on situations in great detail, but he held no talent for leadership itself.

"Good job on completing our objective," he sighed, even though it could have cost most of the squad their lives in an unnecessary fashion had this taken place on a real battlefield.

He then fished some slips of paper out of his pocket, "I stopped by the hospital on my way here this morning and bought some lunch tickets, it happens to be curry day in the cafeteria." He put two meal tickets and enough yen for a third in Kiri's hand. "You three go have some on me, I need to talk with Junko-Sama about something in private."

He then waited a bit for the others to say their goodbyes and leave before addressing Junko. "In Kohako's office you should be able to find a letter of recommendation for me to become Sentou Henkan written out by Kouin a few years back. I want to take up a mask."

Listening to Kiri and Hoshi response, Junko analyzed what they said. Looking to his son for him to go next, he was swiftly interrupted by the puking Osu. Osu was gentle like Aiko as well, but his words cut deeper than Junko's brother ever would. Every sentence seemed like it aimed to chop up the children's hearts aside from Yutaro.

It was what they needed though. That tough love. The love that would cause them to only grow and become stronger, but make their hearts cringe. Instead of the love that would only make them softer. Junko overall agreed with Osu in every aspect, except when he aimed things towards himself. Coming down on himself so hard would only discourage him from the leadership role. That effect alone would only harm the village in the long run.

"Good job on completing our objective,"

Watching as Osu lightened up and gave the children lunch on him, Junko smirked. "Have a good day you all." Junko said giving his good byes with a nod as Osu needed to speak with him.

"In Kohako's office you should be able to find a letter of recommendation for me to become Sentou Henkan written out by Kouin a few years back. I want to take up a mask."

Listening to the lad as he spoke, Junko could see the fire in Osu eyes with a sickly face of determination. Osu desire and passion brought back so many old memories for Junko. The Sennin himself had taken up the mask before, training under the division and learning the ANBU ways. In fact, Junko even continued the training under the previous Raikage and ANBU Sennin, Akira. As a medic, Junko was able to dig deep into the tactics of the shadows, creating the shinobi Osu seen today.

Letting the silence sit for awhile, Junko paths would disperse into smoke as the crowd began to fade as well. "I took up the mask as well when I was your age. Only part time though as I was being taught in multiple divisions." Junko said placing a hand on Osu's head. "I shall grant you your wish. You shall train and report under me until Kahako returns. I only ask one thing of you." Junko said with a pause, focusing in on Osu. "Continue to lead. The problems you faced today is what leading is all about. You'll lose men, bad calls will be made, and everything might not go according to plan. Why? Because you're not perfect along with nothing else of this world Osu. Someday, I'll leave this position. I need to make sure once I leave it, it's in the right hands. So, I need as many leaders as possible."

"I'll handle the paperwork, you start immediately." Junko said before his wife began to call out to him. "Rest up, you have many tough days ahead of you. Feel free to rest here. If not, at least take some food." Junko said wrapping things up.

Kiri looked down, totally defeated and just downright angry at himself. He knew he didn’t pass well in this class, even if the teacher said so. And this was, more or less, affirmed by Osu’s analysis. He knew well that the importance of mednins were to protect and to heal the wounded. It was never about heading off straight into battle. But that’s why he was always confused. He didn’t know just where he stood. He didn’t know what his role is clearly since inside him he still had doubts.

“There, there. You don’t need to rush,” said the beast inside. How convenient that he could play big brother at the right of times, but still, the words from his most respected senpai cut deep into him.

“I got it,” replied Kiri, both to the beast and to Osu.

He then got the meal tickets from Osu and looked at Yutaro and Shouyu before agreeing to leave and get some well-deserved meal after this one heck of a chaotic but insightful class.

His joy was short lived. Osuteno's words pierced through him like a spear at the heart. The boy just kept his mouth shut, gazing at is toes as Osu spoke. Not a word slipped out one and ear through the other no, he listened attentively. His mouth almost opened to respond but stopped to save himself the embarrassment. He accepted his tickets for lunch.

Finally he looked up to Osu, his eyes would have been glossy to have disappointed his teacher in such a way, but he knew he had to understand his faults to correct them and never make the same mistakes twice.

"Yes Osuteno. I will try to be more disciplined and work better with my team in the future."

He bowed his head in acknowledgment at Osuteno and Junko. The back of his right hand wiped away the little tears in the corners of his eyes but the kid smiled, after all, regardless of his actions they still succeeded. He looked over to Kiri, and then Yutaro, giving them both a thumbs up for class completion. He took his ticket and ran off, rather quickly, maybe it was to get away from others eyes so that he might reflect on what happened, and his time alone. Or, it could be that he was just going to train harder, even harder than before so that the next task wouldn't prove so difficult.
