Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

“Doo-doodoo-doodoodoo~!” sang Maji as he made his way to the Keystone Prime Practice Facility. After being taken in by Okibi and after much shared and absorbed information, he took it upon himself to enroll in Sunagakure's academy to strive to become a shinobi. He longed to be strong and brave like Okibi and he hoped the academy would instill just that in him. Plus, it was a fun way to earn income through petty missions that most civilians of Sunagakure weren't allowed to partake in. Maji wasn't allowed to get involved with any real ninja missions yet (and thank god because he doesn't know any jutsu), but Suna still gave its shinobi-to-be little sidequests to do. He usually found them fun, too.

Approaching the R&D front desk, he handed the secretary some paperwork that he received from the academy regarding his mini-mission. The lady smiled and pointed him to a specific direction. Maji walked into a large mock-battlefield with weapons hanging on the walls, within cases, and on stands. There were dummies everywhere, a few traps, and the battlefield also had the option of switching terrains with a simple switch of a button. Maji was impressed; whoever designed this was a genius! He made his way to a desk containing a document he'd fill out by the end of this run. His goal was to test out a few new glaives that the Steward had designed and fill out a small data report after enough. Simple enough!

Wait, what was a glaive anyway?

Maji went through the library of weapons and found the assigned glaives (the mission form gave model numbers). The models that were assigned to him were super shiny and appeared sharper than a scientist's intellect. Maji reached for the glaives with obvious uncertainty painted onto his facial expression and body posture; he didn't even know how to handle weapons of any sort. He wasn't sure whether he was too sheltered in the past he forgot to handle weaponry, but his body's reaction made it apparent that he probably was. He almost felt bad even handling these weapons – why was a ten year old allowed to do this again? Oh Suna... such an awesome place!

Maji transferred a few glaives near the dummy station and got to work. The first one he grabbed appeared lighter than the rest and was the smallest one. He picked it first because he felt safer with it; it also matched his child-like size. He grabbed onto it clumsily, his inexperience visibly obvious, and began swiping at the dummy. It sliced well, but Maji felt like he wasn't using the instrument in its fullest potential. He was being too bashful with it. He decided to swing with more force to get better results, but this backfired on him.

“Woah!” he shouted as he missed his target, twisted onto his back, and flung the glaive in the air. His eyes faced upward and the glaive started to swing downward from the air. It looked as if it was coming right back down onto his face! Maji clenched his teeth and shut his eyes tightly – this was it. This is how his life was about to end! How pathetic. Okibi would be so ashamed.

He then heard a fling. The glaive stabbed the ground less than an inch away from his face. Maji glanced to his side with sweat beading down from his brow. He sighed heavily and began to lift himself. Thank the lucky stars – he survived! He had to be more cautious when handling these sharp weapons; he didn't want to end up coming so close to death's door again. Not only would it be embarrassing if he died within this mission, but even in the after life, he'd never forgive himself for the shame he'd bring Okibi. Time to man up and get to work properly!

Within the next few hours, he tested many different models of glaives. Some were way too heavy for him to carry, and others were a bit double-edged. Maji received many cuts all over his body. A few on his face, hands, arms, chest, and legs. None of them were deep enough to inflict any lethal injury or wounds, but it still hurt nonetheless. He'd have to ask Okibi or someone to patch him up later!

Finally, the testing was done. He put the glaives back into their cases and, with great fatigue, slumped over to fill out the data report. Maji wrote:
Maji's Data Report said:
Steward,

All the glaives functioned properly. They all cut thoroughly and fulfill their purpose of creation well. Just note, model #58EAJ is a bit too heavy for weaker shinobi and model #68YEZ is capable of inflicting wounds back to the user due to its weird hook-like structure. This can also be the result of inexperienced users.

P.S. Maybe it isn't such a good idea to have children who can't even properly carry a dagger test these weapons out. Things can get pretty bloody and messy, and fast.

After filling out his detailed report, he went back to the front of the R&D desk and submitted the report to the receptionist. She handed him a couple of bandages and offered to call in a medic for him; he refused. “These little cuts don't hurt... I'm no sissy!” he announced with a sense of false pride as he walked off. The lady looked at him with concern and an expression that basically said “this kid is nuts”. He wasn't; he was just a boy who tried to prove himself a little too much.

Maji left Keystone Prime and headed home. He couldn't wait to tell Okibi and the pups about his day today! On another note, he also wondered who the 'Steward' he tested the glaives for was. It sounded too familiar... didn't Sousuke, the man who owned their house that he briefly met, gp by a similar name?

...Nah!

It didn't really matter. Mission complete!
