It was hard for him to firmly grasp the full feeling of it all. Within his mind, it felt like just yesterday he was walking into Sunagakure no Sato uncertain of how its denizens would react to him, including some minor run-ins with people that didn't seem to be super keen on the whole idea of a stranger taking the position he did. Yet, it was approaching years for him to be in the village. He was growing on the villagers as much as they were growing on him. He now found himself taking a jog through the residential area and no longer feeling out of place and no longer wondering if he should even show himself yet or if it was too soon. This adopted home, this new home, it felt right. There was a hope that those within it had warmed up to his kageship as much as he imagined that they had, and while it would never be a settled matter, he still felt comfort in knowing that his name wasn't followed with a question mark. He was no longer this uncertain and unquantifiable figure... he was now just simply "Raizo".
"Good morning, Kazekage-sama!"
It would still feel a tad bit jarring, both the title and the response, but he could not hide his emotions even if he wanted to do so. Instead, his big goofy smile would be plastered upon his face. After each passing person, after each passing comment or greeting, there would still be that smile. He came to this village in a time of turmoil and it seemed that turmoil was only going to intensify soon enough, but he would have been remiss if he did feel like things were absolutely perfect. He hoped those around him felt the same, and those that didn't he hoped had an opportunity to be won over.
