[Ashikaga Shiro]

It had been a few days since he had enrolled at the academy, and he was loving it. He hadn't learned any jutsus yet, but that was alright. He already knew one, so he wasn't in a rush.

Walking forward, he looked around at all the people, Akamatsu resting comfortably on his head. As he looked, he saw children running about, and he'd smile, swearing to protect these small things in life. As he continued walking, Akamatsu started whimpering suddenly. It didn't set off any red flags, being in a new environment was definitely a stressful situation, especially for Akamatsu. But he still patted Akamatsu to calm him down, not wanting to make a scene and bring attention to himself. Suddenly, Akamatsu started barking, and Shiro took him off his head, setting him down, petting him, all the while saying "Sorry." to passerby. "Heh, new environment and all," he'd say akwardly to passerby.

After a while, he was able to calm Akamatsu down. Checking a clock nearby, he'd jump up. "It's already this late? Oh man, I have so much studying to do!" As he ran off, Akamatsu running behind him, he dropped a small pendant with the Ashikaga family crest on it. Not realizing he had dropped it, he continued running.

45 minutes later

He knew something was off. He was missing something.

Checking his pockets, he started panicking. "Oh no. That pendant! I have to find it...." As he retraced his steps, he ran back the way he came, unsure if he would even find that pendant. Hopefully he did. It was the last thing he had physically to remember his parents by. No pictures, they stayed away from them, no family photos, nothing other than that pendant.

15 minutes later

As he passed the Shinrya Estate, he marveled at the size of it. "It's massive...... How much money do you have to have to make something that big....." Continuing to run, Akamatsu whimpered slightly. "Calm, boy. There's nothing to worry about. Everything's fine." As he kept running, he felt himself getting more and more lightheaded, however, he didn't stop. That pendant meant too much to him. As he kept running, he felt himself slipping....

Two Hours Later

He woke up, blinking rapidly. As he looked, he noticed that it was night. Looking to his right, he saw Akamatsu sleeping beside him. Carefully picking him up, he'd get up, setting him on his head. Walking off, he continued looking for the pendant, still desperate to find it.

30 minutes later

There! Something glinting in the moonlight! He ran over, being careful not to wake Akamatsu. As he approached, he saw the pendant. Slowing to a walk, he squatted down, picking it up. "Thank the gods. I need to get a chain for this at some point." As he stood up, walking away, he started looking around, trying to find both a smith and someone who could make him a chain for his pendant.
