Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

The Academy courtyard was quiet in the way only training grounds ever were when night had fallen. This area was open, scuffed, and carried memory of countless fights among students, that had ended in dust and bruises. Shinda stood near the center of one of the many training rings. His posture was not rigid, not coiled tight, but loose in his posture as if he were simply killing time between classes. His eyes were the most striking part of him even in the night, his gaze neither bright or intense, but steady and observant. He carried the look of someone who noticed everything and reacted to very little. There was a calm to him that felt earned rather than practiced. His muscles held no tension and he held no clenched fists. He looked like someone who had already survived enough fights to know he didn’t need to announce readiness. This look would go against any that Goro had seen of him before now, his calmness betrayed an aura of seriousness.

Shinda wasn’t imposing at first glance, his physique being lean, average height, and built more from endurance than brute strength. But there was a quiet solidity to him that made it hard to look away once you noticed it. Once you looked past his calm demeanor and observant gaze....he was cursed. Inhaling, the scent of incense and ash controlled his senses causing a tear to form along his left eye. This tear didn't fall though, but clung with a stubborn grip. The twenty three had passed on a valuable lesson to Shinda, approach combat as if you were facing death's embrace.

“If one of us ends up flat on our back, that’s fine. If neither of us does, that’s fine too.” He stepped forward a pace, then another, stopping well within striking distance without a hint of concern. The sand shifted under his feet, soft and familiar as Shinda finally lifted his hands into a loose guard. His form was loose and adaptable, elbows bent with his fingers relaxed. He looked more like someone ready to adjust to action than someone braced to deliver impact. A faint exhale left him, not a breath of focus, but something closer to a sigh.

“Go whenever,” he said. “I’ll keep up.”

Goro stood in the center of the training ring and felt the weight Shinda had mentioned earlier. He believed in his gut that what he did to Toshi was right, even just, but he couldn't shake the feeling that he had shamed the Tsuchigumo. To his clan, the rules were the thread that held everything together, and he had snapped them. He watched Shinda with a focused and unblinking stare because the loose way his teammate stood felt like a trick. In the Hive, a slack web was usually just a trap waiting for something to touch the center.

Goro’s nose twitched as the smell of incense and ash hit him. It was a heavy and somber scent that danced in his nostrils and made his skin crawl. He didn't fully understand the philosophy Shinda lived by, but he recognized the look of someone who wasn't afraid of getting hurt.

"You talk like we're already done for...." Goro said in a low and raspy voice.

To Goro, a fight was just another job that needed the right tools. He shifted his weight and scuffed his boots against the sand to lower his center of gravity. Slowly and mechanically, he unfolded his four extra arms from beneath his vest. They didn't move fast or wild, but with a synchronized and steady grace. He didn't take a normal stance. Instead, he held his six hands at different heights. Two were high to guard his face, two were at his middle, and his main hands were low and open. It was a wall of limbs that most people didn't know how to handle.

"Alright... I'm coming at you from tthe start."

You have found a battle mod!
tyV9UWB.gif

Good morning/afternoon/evening towards you all! I'll be your battle moderator for this battle. If you happen to have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask them. You can contact me either through NC or through Discord. Yet please keep in mind with my work I can react at odd times and varied in time.

  • Send, in a PM on NC, not discord, your actions, and all your battle information: Stats, class, abilities, jutsu, items, weapons, etc.
    • When sending this information, I would prefer to have hyperlinked stuff or regular links. This greatly decreases the time it takes for a moderator to mod as it cuts down on searching.
    • Do NOT just link your dojo, your profile or anything. I really want that information in my DM box.
  • Rolls are in Discord -> Bmod-rolling. This is an open channel for you all to see.
  • UBR rules do apply, meaning you have 48 hours to post and send actions. You have 5 days to send in actions after I posted the round.
Please be clear on your actions and conditionals, even when stating what you're maintaining.

For this fight as there are multiple people, you will need to specify who are your allies and who are your enemies in your opening actions.

This way I don't have to do any guesswork and you don't get upset if an item is modded the way you didn't wish.
I am human which means mistakes can happen; feel free to point these out!
Let's enjoy!

His head would tilt to the side, eyes completely locked upon Goro as the air around him changed almost immediately. Shinda’s fingers moved to the hem of his shirt first as he watched Goro equip himself with a Kunai in preparation. With practiced motion, he slid his arms free, letting the fabric hang loose around his waist so nothing would snag. His exposed torso would give Goro and immediate glimpse into something that he had kept hidden, scars of various sizes and locations along his body. "Outside of my clan, no one knows, except for you", words that Shinda spoke in a tone unlike any he had used before. It was serious, deep and slightly unsettling which was a complete opposite of his neutral demeanor.

His hand then reached behind him, the smell of incense and blood, smoke and bone began to invade his senses. He pressed his palm flat against the back of his neck, feeling along where his cervical vertebrae was. There was a quiet, but audial wet pop beneath the skin, an unsettling sound to the ears. The flesh along his neck would split along a thin seam, as if his body already knew how to open for this. He could feel the warmth of his blood begin to run along his fingers as a pale bone emerged slowly under his grip.

He pulled.

Vertebrae slid free one after another with soft, slick sounds, as each segment connected by faint strands of chakra began to be pulled free of his body. A thin line of dark blood traced down his back, but it flowed lazily rather than violently, as someone would normally expect when bone was being removed from the skin. When the full length came free, his stance seemed to slump over slightly while the spine flexed in his hand; curving, coiling, and ready. Goro would be given access to see a large void ripped out of Shinda's slumped back and the streams of crimson that had escaped. There was little time to dwell on what he was seeing however as his skin and bone had already begun regenerating, his posture correcting itself.

Shinda didn’t react to the pain, he ignored it with dulled senses, but it was felt. His breathing stayed steady, his expression calm yet held a macabre shadow. There was a scarlet glow in his eyes and his body would move quickly, weight shifting as webbing came streaming past where he once stood. Again, the smell of funerary rites flooded his senses as his wrist whipped outwards quickly causing his spinal column to arc outwards with the sharpened point of the tailbone slashing across Goro's body....or did it. Smoke had burst outwards almost as soon as the strike occurred, a move that didn't seem to stop Shinda's momentum as before the the smoke even cleared the whip was already in motion..and found it's intended target. He didn't have to assume if it had struck within the smoke, his fingertips feeling the resistance of something fleshy being hit. Pulling the weapon back towards him, the smoke parted suddenly as a blade of wind raced towards him.

A sidestep.

Almost on instinct, Shinda would not think about what he was doing, his body moving on its own as within rapid succession four arcing strikes lashed out from his whip. Goro wouldn't fall for the feinting first strike, easily dodging the rapid follow strike that was normally meant to catch someone off guard. Both ears twitched at the sound of a pitched whistling, a sound that momentarily caught him off guard as he was already adjusting his footing. Arm reeling back, his spinal whip would coil around his form and stab into the ground. The tailbone had threaded the hole in the kunai's handle midflight, pinning the weapon into the ground at his feet. This reaction wasn't instinct but forced and before he could process what happened, a sharp pain made itself felt in his right leg. When was another kunai launched? His eyes for a split second adjusting to catch sight of the kunai knife which had indeed embedded itself along his shin. He felt it, an uncomfortable pressure in the limb that was different that what he usually felt. Muscle, not bone, had been struck and he would have a lingering discomfort in the limb. The whip was simply not enough...

He let go.

Releasing his spine, there would be a momentary glint that caught his attention, arms crossing over his chest reflexively. Another kunai would find it's mark, though it was a mark that was prepared. His bone density was far from average, the kunai barely piercing the skin before falling to the ground, unable to really bite into Shinda's skin.

Adaption.

There was a sharp, wet tearing sound as his grip sank beneath skin and muscle. His shoulder jerked once not from panic, but from the sheer force required as he hooked his fingers around the bone beneath and pulled. The scapula came free in a single bloody motion, sliding out slick with strands of torn connective tissue that snapped one by one. Blood ran down his arm in warm streams dripping from his elbow to the ground. Just as before, his flesh and bone almost immediately regenerated, leaving a new scar.

Shinda’s breathing never changed.

He turned the bone in his hand so the flat blade sat naturally in his palm. The joint edge formed a thick, weighted ridge which was perfect for delivering bludgeoning impact. He rolled his shoulder once before stepping forward. Lifting the blood slick scapula like a crude mallet, he prepared to strike. Whistling through the air, his ears would twitch, streaks of silver flashing past him as his footing adjusted as if he was dancing. Despite this fluidity in his movement, a shuriken found home against his right breast. It embedded one of the blades into his skin enough to stick, but Shinda wouldn't register the feeling.

A returned favor

His right hand which held the bone mallet would swipe outwards, Goro forced to react to seeing five small bones with sharpened edges coming flying towards him. He wouldn't have time to really see if any had found their mark, having to avoid a boulder being fired at him. Another simple sidestep, this time accompanied by Shinda charging towards Goro. He would swipe at Goro, full force with his shoulder bone mallet, it's weight making the weapon slower than the whip and easier to avoid. Not only was his attack avoided but the counter from Goro was almost immediate.

He would leap back

There was a pressure building in his chest as he took more labored breaths, multiple projectiles stuck into his body. These though had barely been registered as pain to Shinda and staring at Goro......he was the same. They had barely injured, if you could call it that, each other. Both eyes glanced towards where his spinal whip still lay, wondering if Goro had noticed that it wasn't just blood that had been on the weapon but a slight tinge of purple.

"....I wonder if you noticed it...."
