Obtaining
Strategist</U>
<i></i>
A dictionary somewhere said:
strat·e·gy [strat-i-jee]

noun, plural strat·e·gies.

1. Also, <U>strategics. the science or art of combining and employing the means of war in planning and directing large military movements and operations.
2. the use or an instance of using this science or art.
3. skillful use of a stratagem: The merchant's strategy was to seem always to agree with the customer.
4. a plan, method, or series of maneuvers or stratagems for obtaining a specific goal or result: a strategy for getting ahead in the world.
By now, it should come as no surprise to those who have watched Tensai grow, that as he prepares for life as a Shinobi he would explore strategy. Always and forever the thinker, his analytic ability seemed noticed by those within the community who cared to cross the boy's path. The calm child seemed well beyond his years when it came to knowledge if his lips parted way for words. His mother could even boast that in his infancy the child was always quiet and observant, choosing to listen rather than speak on most occasion. After all; Those who speak, are too busy using their mouths to use their ears.

In the world of the Shinobi, combat was an inevitable reality at some point in time for even the most passive individual. The purpose of a Shinobi, at its very core, was the successful completion of an assigned task. Realizing this, Tensai made the very logical choice of seeking out ways to greatly improve his chances of success. Preparation was a key element when it came to the success of many in the past, and with Tensai's natural ability for gathering information would almost make him a prodigy or genius in the task. He was always thinking about creative and new ways to use various tools, while thinking of how to handle surprise scenarios.

By making use of one's intelligence in such a positive manner, there are also more personal and perhaps spiritual benefits. By having the cunning and wit to make use of everything around you to the best of your ability, you can even feel as though the earth is supporting you and taking care of your needs in all situations. With heightened awareness, we become more aware of our environment, and through interacting with that environment we become more grounded in reality. The ability of deeper thinking to alter one's future outcome with preemptive choices, followed by physical identification, is truly a marvel.

Many people have their intelligence compromised due to emotional interference, allowing things like anger, sadness, and even happiness to cloud their judgement. As a human being, those things are inevitable, but by acknowledging those weaknesses one can then prepare to deal with them. By always having a few tricks up your sleeves, the chances of being flustered if caught off guard begin to fade away. A sense of security given breath by knowing that you as a person have prepared to the best of your ability for anything thrown your way. That grounded sense of self could even be compared to a bulwark against anger, and against sadness, because the actions of others carry a lighter weight. When a man insults you, and you do not feel the need to assert yourself, because you already know yourself, that is but one example of strategy's benefits. A gift, from being prepared.

On the opposite side of the spectrum, an individual lacking in the necessary amount of preparation can fall to fear. They'll fall to the fear of eventually not knowing what to do next, of not having expected the given circumstances, of not having the ability to face that issue. The way in which strategy empowers echoes the Muladhara Chakra, the foundation or root. With those revelations in mind, there was very little logical choice left for Tensai, except for to build his foundation on strategy. Consequentially, fear itself would be a demon the boy sought to vanquish within himself at every turn. "Fear is the enemy..." He whispered quietly, into the night. The sound of papers being pushed around and soft bristles dipped in ink sliding against parchment were dominant, but the soft flame of a kerosene lamp sung backup.

The old man's philosophies extended far beyond the four walls of his now burnt down shack. It's common knowledge that the average person, in all walks of life, don't immediately make connections between philosophy and combat. It's also reasonably common knowledge, ironically, that the deadliest people were those with the most intelligent approach to battle. Tensai's Granduncle had seen and experienced much during his long life, and would attempt to instill certain values within the boy to help Tensai lead a successful Shinobi career. After all, next to his father, Tensai showed the most promise in recent times among the Hashashin and the Musai in general.

It had been but a week or two since his Granduncle's place was burned to the ground and ransacked by masked men. The ANBU were on the case, but as far as anyone knew no leads were popping up anywhere. The old man was staying in a spare room within Tensai's home, but there wasn't much interaction between the ornery old man and anyone else...Save for Tensai, and the occasional conversation with the boy's mother. He was nice enough to Tensai's siblings, but it was clear the main focus was on preparing the boy for a perilous future. Day and night they would either be working the boy's mind or training his combat skills atop the roof.

The sun had set hours ago, but the sound of metal clashing together assaulted the ears while sparks flashed about in response for brief moments at a time. The illuminating bursts would light up the rooftop and reveal the two figures for a fraction of a second before all that could be seen were shadows flitting about. The thick clouds that blanketed the the vicinity in darkness rolled away slowly, finally allowing the full moon's bright light to shine down on the events taking place below. Tensai was on the defensive as the old man hobbled to and fro quickly with the help of his walking staff, which doubled as a weapon aimed at the young descendant.

Tensai himself was dressed entirely different from usual, having been told that for these training sessions he should leave formalities and tradition behind. It made little sense for the boy to risk shredding his cultural garbs during these brutal sessions, which also required him to protect his face. Bandages abound his forehead and lower-half of his face were more than enough, considering the old man didn't want to give the boy too much of an unrealistic aid. Helmets or things of that nature were useless considering that in real world situations he wouldn't have access to those immediately. Tensai's body was covered in more raggedy looking robes with a few small rips here and there, but overall he seemed perhaps even more like a Shinobi now than ever.

With every swing of his elder's staff, Tensai would respond be quickly moving away while whipping his blade-tipped wires in a manner that would knock the speedy staff off its intended path. "Good..." The old man said almost effortlessly, while Tensai himself had become visibly sweaty. "You're doing well, but now you need to do less countering. Focus on being entirely defensive, that way you can give it your full attention...So you can see clearly your situation and how to avoid your opponent's strikes." As his Granduncle began his miniature lecture Tensai reacted by instinctively sliding back into a defensive crouch while breathing heavily but listening intently.

"This will allow you to observe your opponent. You can get a feel for their habits, style, and witness every mistake they make in order to capitalize on those flaws. The more energy someone wastes trying their hardest to inflict harm on you, while you're taking your time and thinking with a clear mind, eventually wears down on that individual. People only have a certain amount of stamina and energy, while you won't be able to know just how much instantly, the fact remains that the aggressor will usually burn themselves out rather quickly. This is especially true if they see you as no threat, and they'll try to put their all into putting you down for the count. You can flip this on them once you've set things up in your favor and then unleash your own burst of violence and aggression in a tactical manner while they've weakened themselves with hubris and arrogance."

Tensai would carefully stand, and flick both his wrists toward's their corresponding sides and cause the wires to wrap firmly around his forearms. "I think I'm understanding what you mean." He'd begin. "A good defense is ultimately the best offense in a manner of speaking. If someone can't take you out, eventually they'll screw up and that's when we crush them. However; purely defending isn't how it's going to work, and you made that clear...While dodging and playing the defensive side, I should always be doing everything I can to tip things in my favor. Strategic use of everything at my disposal to make sure that even my environment plays to my advantage." The old man would laugh a bit after Tensai's rehashing of the information. "Exactly! Now then-"

The old man was cut off as he prepared to move forward and continue the battle. The oddly loose tiles beneath his feet shifted and broke apart into gravel and stole the old man's firm footing away. Capitalizing, Tensai quickly unfurled a wire and swung it around in a curving shot that bound itself around his elder's torso. "While we were battling, I tried to keep cross the same location...Stomping whenever I'd land to loosen up the tiles in that spot, so that I could set up for a Gravel Shift technique. While you were off balance...Well, you know the rest." Tensai was smiling quite broadly now, and the old man could only sigh. "This boy...Already thinking like that mid-combat while exhausted. He'll do alright..." Were the elder's thoughts before they continued their training for the night. Tensai's future was looking bright.

For a second or two, the boy paused his thinking to raise a brow. The hairs on the back of his neck felt raised, and the nagging feeling that had been knotted in the pit of his stomach seemed to tighten. It was much like the feeling he got a few days ago, as if someone had been watching him. He looked over his shoulder for a moment, but giving a small sigh he decided that he was simply being paranoid.

Ever since his youth, Tensai had been the type of individual to notice things that others apparently would not. He wasn't one that the other children could scare with pranks, or surprise in general. His instinct was unique in the sense that it seemed as if he was lucky sometimes, quickly knowing where to look for one thing or the other...However; with the way that his life seemed to be, luck couldn't have had much to do with it. If anything, the boy could simply be described as having an ineffable sixth sense of some sorts...Unexplained, and without any way to prove whether it existed or not to anyone else. It was simply something he could feel within himself at times.

Upon deciding that it was a pointless endeavor to simply stand there, not when he came here with a goal in mind. Sucking his teeth slightly in annoyance, he marched forward and hoisted up the small bag that was slung over his shoulder, just a little more. His memory apparently began to recall all the necessary information about the academy, for he seemed to be moving around the dark campus without need for pause. Eventually he found himself standing at the obstacle course's entrance, seeming quite dank and dark for a moment.

Suddenly there was a bright flash of light that caused Tensai's left hand to shoot up and cover his eyes partially. The light died down as quickly as it came, and in the fading light he could see a young Kunoichi. She wore rather simple clothing, a dark gray traditional set of garbs reminiscent of Shinobi from the distant past...Even her mouth was covered in a similar style. Her skin was slightly tanned it seemed, and her hair was long and wavy. The girl had apparently fired off a lightning attack of some sort on a dummy, because bolts of lightning still crackled softly before fading away. She seemed exhausted, on her knees breathing heavily with a brow dripping copious amounts of sweat. Her forehead itself boldly wore the emblem of the village, and it became apparent to him that she must have been a Genin. Either way, she was an official Shinobi of the village, and he was not.

It couldn't be helped, the pang of jealousy that echoed through his soul threatened to disturb his serene countenance. Scoffing slightly, he started moving forward, still in the shadow of darkness cast by the large building. Before he could emerge however; he could hear the sound of laughing...The laughing of multiple voices. The laughs didn't sound welcoming or innocent, but rather cruel and jeering. Did the sources of said laughter have anything to do with the feeling he had of being followed? Perhaps not, but a group of three girls were now standing around the exhausted Genin. "Hahahaha, awww- Isn't this cute? The old fashioned bitch has worn herself out on a piece of wood..." The one speaking paused for a moment, letting the duality of her words sink in. She had white hair, similar to Tensai, but was much more pale and wearing a significant amount of makeup.

One of the other girls, without any significantly distinguishable features, sent a swift kick to the ribs of the wavy-haired Genin. The girl could only scream out, loudly in pain for a split second before clutching her ribs. She rolled a little, and then tried to stand up, but her movements were slow...Which resulted in the made-up instigator's foot finding her face. The girl's head hit against one of the other wooden dummies, and some blood began to flow. The trio of vindictive young women didn't seem bothered by it, and the ring leader opened her mouth again. "You really think you're better than us, don't you? I'm pretty sick of seeing your face, and hearing our seniors talk about you like you're something special. A stuck up little cunt like you needs to be shown her place in the world..." Harsh words, followed by another annoying laugh as the trio started to kick and step on the girl.

Tensai didn't quicken his pace, not even marginally. He watched as he kept walking forward, and it seemed with each passing moment the look in his eyes became more and more stern. His lips curved downward into a disgusted frown, and stepping into the light revealed crimson pupils that seemed vibrant enough they could have been glowing. The group appeared far too busy to notice to softly approaching footsteps. He could feel his temper rising inside, the heat welling in the pit of his stomach that melted away the previous knot. The heat was rising, raising the temperature of his heart and lungs. His right hand raised to cover his mouth, but suddenly a single ember floated out from his gently opened lips. Without warning, the hand before his lips pulled away quickly, and his mouth opened to let forth a ball of fire. The flame was caught loosely in the same hand, and he'd sprint forward just as suddenly with a swift three-sixty degree spin. The result was the ball of fire being hurled right into the back of the ring leader, knocking the three girls off their target. They all seemed thoroughly upset, trying to out the flames on their fancy clothing, glaring at the boy. "What the Hell is your problem!? Mind your own business!" Shouted the white-haired girl, throwing Kunai in Tensai's direction.

The blades ripped through the air quickly, but entered a cloud of smoke instead of its intended target, and the sound of hitting nothing but wood let it be known what had taken place. Tensai appeared standing in front of the weakened Genin's body, with a few embers flickering forth from his almost fully closed lips. "He doesn't even have an emblem, does that mean he's a student?" Asked one of the two lackeys, to which the other responded. "He's so dead! Someone who hasn't even graduated doesn't stand a chance three to one...So he can spit flames all he wants!" It seemed this was going to go down the hard way, and Tensai himself would later wonder why he even got involved.

As he stood there with a narrow and hardened gaze, his garments flowed with the whims of the strong breeze. The dirt had been soiled and dampened with blood, but only in a small degree. Before him lay a man wearing traditional black colored ninja garbs, with a gash across his torso, the source of blood as it trickled out of the wound. The earth seemed to drink it up, turning darker and richer instead of letting the sanguine settle. The metallic scent lingered in the air, but the forest around them was rich with potent scents of their own. Behind the fallen ninja were two smaller looking individuals dressed in the same manner, helping their fallen comrade to his feet.

Tensai triangular blade at the end of his dark string dripped with blood as it dangled from the fist front his chest. He'd only arrived a few minutes or so earlier, curious about his absent Granduncle and wondering if the elderly man had finally come home. What greeted the boy instead was a small trio of rather clandestine-type ninja, none bearing the symbol of any particular village nor exceptional skill. The first stream of thoughts were recollections of past events, some time ago when similarly dressed men burnt his Granduncle's previous shack down. He'd always expected their return, but couldn't comprehend why they ask him of all people, where his Granduncle was hiding. It became clear that they'd come to harass the old man again, and so too were oblivious to his disappearance.

Unsatisfied with Tensai's denial of any knowledge about his Granduncle's whereabouts, the trio launched an all-out attack. Remembering the lack of Ninjutsu techniques used by them before, Tensai would capitalize on his advantage and wield the elements. At this point in his life, he had researched all known common Ninjutsu of every base element classified as E-Rank. Fire, water, earth, lightning, and even the very air were manipulated for short bursts to turn things in his favor. Once they'd become exhausted from both evading and withstanding Tensai's elemental strikes, while having very little luck with their Kunai, Tensai unleashed his own weaponry.

By his calculations the three men would have barely been considered D-Rank themselves, their speed was too slow and aim so faulty. It didn't make sense why such incompetent people would be sent to harass his Granduncle, a man who even in his old age was capable of some defense. It was seeming more and more as if these individuals were simply expendable in every way to whomever they served, with their master's only intention at present being to create trouble. After avoiding a volley of shuriken, he'd whip around his string and blade with well-timed precision and great force, ripping through the clothing and flesh of the now fallen man's chest. Not wasting any further time, he had pulled his wires back, and while the blades rushed back towards him tossed two small orbs.

They exploded in small blasts of concussive force as they collided with the two men whom were now barely standing, and holding up their bleeding ally. The burns and bruises covering their bodies were imprints on their bodies from all that took place. The small forest surrounding his Granduncle's rebuilt home seemed to have had it. Shuriken and kunai were digging into the bark of nearby trees, while the foliage smoldered with fading embers from past flames. The "yard", if you could call it that, was in an upheaval due to the manipulation of the earth. "...Just...Leave." Were the words that finally left Tensai's mouth.

The trio looked towards each other, confused expressions and hesitant motions. Tensai knew these men weren't worth anything, adults who dressed as ninja but couldn't perform and significant amount of Chakra manipulation. They were just fodder and distraction, but for what? "Please, just go..." His voice broke silence once more, quickly followed by the scurrying and scrambling of feet as the three retreated ungratefully. His currently pitch black optics watched their backs until they were out of sight. At a moment's notice his body was ready to react to some form of treachery, an abuse of his kind gesture as an opportunity for attack...Yet, nothing came. Just silence...
---

Some time had passed, a couple of hours perhaps and nothing really changed. He was laying atop his Granduncle's roof, never before realizing that it broke through the small forest canopy. The breeze was still warm even though the sun had long since went away, and the only sounds nearby came from nature itself. One particular sound stuck out the most to him then though, crickets. The oddly melodic and light sounds they made allowed the young teen's body to relax, and his lids to begin closing. Through a dreamlike gaze, he stared up into the infinite army of stars and felt himself drifting away. His body became light, but somehow felt as though it were about to fall. The unsightly descent was halted when he shifted, opening his eyes just a little as his heart pounded against his chest. As his blurred vision stabilized itself, he saw someone floating above him...A young woman.
2ni7ev8.jpg
She was no ordinary woman, and the fact that she was levitating over his body was what least made it obvious. Her eyebrows were strange, like small oval-shaped dots. Between those brows and half an inch or so above them, was a third eye. While her normal two eyes were a beautiful combination of pink and blue, the sclera atleast remained the same...Whereas her third eye consisted of a blue iris and pink sclera, while being quite round and obvious. Her long blue hair levitated with her, slithering and snaking its way through the air and at times only millimeters away from touching his skin. Her skin was dark, and reddish, while her overall petite body was hardly clothed.

"He'll be away for some time, but nobody knows how long...Why, I saw him leaving on the day of departure, yes I did!" She spoke cheerfully, but her eyes, two of them at least, seemed dull. Any normal person might have freaked out, scrambled and tried to flee, or anything of the sort...Though, Tensai only looked on silently. "You are kind of a cute little cub, aren'tcha Ten?" The statement made his eyes narrow, and he shifted a bit. "Where'd he go then? My Uncle that is." His voice remained soft and calm, but his now amber eyes didn't bother meeting with her's for any extended period of time. "Oh gee...To the point already it is." She muttered in a voice that echoed through Tensai's skull with a ghastly sort of longevity. "Some men draped in these white robes came knocking, he let them in and after a while came out with his things packed. He didn't seem to be taken under force or threat or anything like that though...It must have been really important for him to just abandon the cub and the rest of his family without a word."

"Who are you?" He asked abruptly, to which the young woman seemed taken aback. Opening her mouth to speak, nothing came out and then she giggled. "It doesn't matter." With that, he suddenly felt his entire body free-falling into darkness like before. Quickly he sat up, breathing heavily, but there was no strange young lady anywhere. Rubbing his forehead a bit, he pondered on what exactly had just taken place...It felt far to real to be a normal dream, he could even remember the girl's scent, something unfamiliar but sweet. Getting himself together, he'd finally hop down. His right foot landed in a patch of soil that had become moist from the earlier spillage of blood...He could see the red liquid lightly pooling around his shoe as the earth sank beneath his weight. Giving a small sigh, he would sprint off into the distance.

Every detail about the blond man descending from the balcony was being registered at manic speeds within the youth's mind. It wasn't intentional, but rather something he had done out of habit for a number of years. He often watched the body language of others, and since he was usually the one keeping his mouth shut, listening was a good trait of his also. The bright spiky golden hair was hard to miss for any reason, hazel eyes, and a height of about six feet or something like that. The figure was tall, but lithe suggesting a weight of around one sixty give or take the weight of clothing. He didn't seem in the slightest to be like any of the others walking around, and time seemed to almost slow around his invisible aura momentarily.

Tensai's expression remained unmarred as he noticed that the blond man was headed his way. Suddenly, the sound of a feminine giggle from somewhere nearby that eerily pierced the crowds chattering contrary to its soft nature. His pupils moved quickly, locking onto various directions for but fractions of a second each, but saw nothing of interest. Practically no time had passed before his gaze went back to the location of the hazel-eyed young man, but he was gone. He'd give a little sigh before shaking his head, as if to wave the incident off as nothing important. After a sudden gust of wind, he'd see something glimmer in the distant alleyway, and glowing blue locks of hair for an instant before they vanished around the corner. "That's her!"

Without hesitation or previous concern for the whereabouts of the blond-haired man, he quickly sprinted across the street. He was barely able to avoid crashing into the district's regulars, only managing to slip and weave through due to his small size. Leaping out of the crowd and into the dark alley, his boots would slide across the gravel until he stopped himself with a hand on the grimy wall at the end. He could see around the alley's corner now, another long and dark path, but with a fading blue light at the end of it. "Wait!" He shouted out, pumping chakra into his legs and speeding off into darkness. Each footstep he took sounded heavy and echoed through the streets, sounds bouncing off the buildings and ascending upwards in an almost twisted fashion.

If she was who he thought she was, then maybe she'd have the answers that he sought. Maybe she could tell him where his family had gone, she seemed to know something about his Granduncle some time ago, but then he seemed to have left of his own volition. He couldn't imagine his mother doing the same thing, not without telling him. This three-eyed woman, this blue-haired ghost, was the only lead he had anymore. Why was she running away from him? Was she teasing him? Maybe it wasn't her after all..But, that possibility was shot to Hell once Tensai reached the end of the second long pathway, being able to see a scantly clad form dancing and glowing softly further ahead. "Oi! Stop fucking with me!" He cursed loudly, desperate and angry but holding himself together somehow.

Every night for the passed few weeks, before going to bed, he wondered whether or not the only people in the world whom he knew loved him were even still alive. There was a large fence between him and the floating woman, but with his adrenaline pumping and urgency flowing through his veins, it only took him a single bound to clear it. He would land roughly, tumbling into a forward roll and quickly getting back to his feet. He was getting nearer and nearer, until he realized where she was. Where he was...There was a large intersection, in the center of which was a large man-made lake that reflected the urban surroundings atop its surface. The Chakra flowing through his body was abundant, and had unconsciously been focused around his entire body, feet included to allow for the feat he was performing then...Standing on water, looking up.
aw8fiu.jpg
His gaze remained hardened, and his lids narrowed more than usual as the winds that swept through the Cronopolis became stronger. The harshness of the mother nature's current mood kicked up dust and debris, as well as caused the water's surface to ripple within itself nonstop. The sudden change in weather forced many of the night-walkers and street regulars to find shelter, but that was elsewhere...For at Tensai's present location, there wasn't a single soul there, none besides the glowing form of the young woman he had been chasing for perhaps a good ten minutes. His heart was pounding against his ribs, but he kept his breathing slow and through his nostrils. "Where's my family?" His now raspy voice spoke out loud and clear, causing the feminine form surrounded by her blue aura to turn around and look his way.
"Why is it that you think I know every thing about everything? Huh, Ten? You can't even say Hello, or greet me like a gentleman would do for a young lady an-" She cheerfully complained, grinning broadly in his direction but was sharply cut off by the impatient seeker. "Shut up and tell me where my mother is." Nine words tainted by a vicious disposition were but a momentary prelude to the assault that followed. Two streams of water shot up from either side of Tensai's position, both with pointed tips that crashed into one another as the woman seemed to phase through the aquatic attack. He witnessed her form become transparent and then fade back to opaque fullness as she sped towards him.

She was frighteningly fast, and it made some of the windows of the few abandoned buildings nearby shatter violently. Jets of water trailed behind either of her sides while he toes skimmed the water's surface, and he knew that dodging her would be absolutely impossible. His teeth clenched and his muscles tensed as he prepared to experience a whole new dimension of pain, considering that the momentum this mysterious three eyed woman had. The big bang never came, and there was no crash that caused an explosion...Nothing of the sort happen, for she stopped on a dime less than an inch away from the boy's body.
The water that trailed behind her would quickly catch up, misting over the two figures while he stood there...His clothing rippling uncontrollably in the wind caused by both nature itself and this woman's ridiculous speed. He could could feel her breath against his lips, with less than an inch between them to spare. The mist and droplets of water that rained down fell over them both, and she'd whisper with a voice that sounded somehow loud inside Tensai's mind. "You're rude..." Her voice was sweet and melodic, but clearly mocking and incendiary despite the alluring anesthetic of her physique and tone. His right fist clenched, as he prepared to defend himself but what happened next truly went unexpected. Her lips touched his. She...Kissed him.

Her lips were soft, and warm. The connection he felt momentarily was soothing, but he couldn't relax. His eyes remained open, and lingered upon her third eye, the multicolored iris seemed the flash momentarily...At the same time, she slipped him some tongue. It was a sensation he'd never experienced, and he felt his body trembling slightly from the confusion mingling with the sensual feelings. Almost as if against his will, he began to suck on her tongue just a little...But quickly caught himself, and tried to move back. She giggled, and pressed forward, deepening the kiss even more. Then suddenly and without warning he felt something practically slither from her tongue, and into his throat.

He tried to squirm away, but the young woman's grasp was powerful as she held him close. He could feel what must have been a swarm of sinewy insects or creatures of some sort, crawling down his esophagus and into his stomach
. Inside his his body, the parasitic entities practically raved down the lining of his stomach on the way to the pit of his stomach...He attempted to gag and push the woman off him, along with plans to vomit out the creatures she had begun putting inside his body. He wasn't able to though, and breathing was a problem too. Finally pulling away, she gently let go of him. "Next time you should be more polite, or I'll do more than kiss you next time." She said hauntingly while Tensai fell beneath the water's surface.

By the time he climbed up and out of the water, crawling out and onto the filthy streets there were no signs of the strange woman. However; Tensai wasn't looking for her...He was clutching his stomach, and throwing up creatures that looked like some sort of alien hybrid leeches. In the process, he would also be throwing up blood...For the parasites appeared to have ruptured his insides to some extent or another, and pain shot throughout his entire body. Breathing heavily, he laid there on his knees and forehead, clutching his stomach and trying to steady his breathing.

It was hard to tell just how long he remained like that, but eventually he fell back onto his bottom and then pushed himself up onto his feet. Blood dripped down the corner of his mouth as he swayed like an unstable building and walked back towards the Red Light District, empty handed and without a single answer. Behind him, the leech-like entities seemed to fade away, slip out of reality perhaps...He practically staggered through the rough storm-like winds, and as thunder broke the silence rain would descend to accompany him on his way to sanctuary...Weighting his every step.
