Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

The walk through the streets was a slow pace. Saemon's feet seemed to drag all on their own. They were just as dreaded as the rest of him to meet his destination point. And the majority of the walk would be accompanied by silence. Any attempt at conversation would die in his throat, never making it up to his tongue and certainly not passed the teeth and lips.

He walked with Kitanai for some time, passing into the nicer part of the Grand Palais's residential district. The area was very habitable and probably the most expensive housing in the poorer district. All the houses had at least 2 bedrooms, which was a luxury for the economically challenged, and the one he finally turned toward had at least three. There was nothing of a front yard as most of the houses in the area, and nothing to make this small, albeit nice, house stand out. The shades were drawn and it looked almost as if no one was at home.

This was not the case. With a dry feeling in his mouth, the jounin walked up to the door and knocked three times. Kitanai would be on his left side so when the door cracked open, Saemon would be the first person whoever that was inside would see first.

There was some loud bustling noises within the building, the sound of someone tripping on something bottle-like (which clattered on the floor) then finally the handle jiggled. Saemon held his breath..

"Ya, who are you, huh?" The person at the door, who only opened it a 6 or so inches to peer through was an ugly looking man with a heavyset middle and a bald top. He was probably near 40, but looked closer to 50. The nasty expression on his face and the way he looked the much taller Saemon up and down caused the shinobi's eyes to narrow.

"I'm here to see my mother."

Apparantly the man didn't believe him at first and he said stupidly, "Ya then what's her name?"

Gritting his teeth, Saemon slipped his hand into Kitanai's smaller one. She was like an electrical ground for him and he was the live current. He had, had enough today that dealing with some fat stranger wasn't on his list. "Tsumi. Now get the fuck out of her house or I'll rip your balls off."

Whatever the man was going to say, which was a lot seeing as his face was turning a nasty shade of red, did not make it out as another voice called out from within. The female voice was excited and slurring a little. "Futome, move, that's my boy!" The man scowled but moved aside to open the door all the way and let Saemon in.

He hadn't noticed Kitanai before and suddenly smiled wide, as if his huge, bare pot belly and saggy pants were something a woman of her caliber would even be interested in. Unwilling to put up with the man a second longer, Saemon grabbed the man by the back of his neck when he was busy starting at Kit's 'eyes' and tossed him out the door. He rolled heavily over the small porch and landed in a heap on the stone ground outside. Whatever outrage he was about to toss out, Saemon didn't care for or listen to. He shut the door behind him and that was that.

The woman standing inside was giving Saemon what she thought was a disappointed look, but it came off more like constipation for the amount of liquor she had in her system. Her bony hands were propped on her hips and her body half cocked to the right, but the second her eyes connected with Kiti's and Saemon's joined hands, those same digits flew up to her purple colored lips. "Oh Saemon, love, who is this bea-u-tiful young lady you have with you? Please tell me she's your wife! Or wait no, you wouldn't not invite your mother to your wedding. Your fiance then?" her babbling mouth was matched with watery eyes.

It was all Saemon could do not to sigh too loudly and kept holding her hand, unless she wanted to let go.

Sae's mother, she is 41.

She's about 5'10" and wears clothing more suited to a horny 15 year old girl. Right now she has on a ripped up, pink shirt with no bra and a lime green mini skirt that hugs so tightly nothing is left to the imagination. She's in okay condition for her age, save the drunkenness and the poorly delivered make-up scheme. She's also maybe 110 lbs, making her look rail thin and fragile.]

The walk was particularly slow, especially for Saemon. His strides were normally longer, but this time, she could almost feel herself walking slower than usual. Though, she couldn't help but feel a bit of relief that they were taking their time, especially as the economic stature of the homes went down...down...down...

Before they finally arrived at a home, and stopped on the door step where Kitanai rocked back on her heels for a moment. Her mind was running wildly, questioning what was held for her inside. What sort of people were there?

A man's voice came from the door, and he didn't open it enough for her to be able to see him. He had a gruff voice, and sounded a lot like the type of voices she heard at the local bars. Saemon seemed to feel the same way as his hand reached out and took hers. It took her a second to realize why it felt so foreign. Holding hands wasn't in her book of experiences. It wasn't so hard to do, and, honestly, it felt a little nice.

Finally, Saemon managed to talk his way in, or rather, the woman's voice inside did. The door opening all the way as he kept her hand in his as he led her inside. The vision of the pig-like man coming to her eyes--though he avoiding making that contact at all--as she gave a polite smile. Though, her face was totally irrelevant to him, as show through the licking of his jowls and wide dirty toothed grin. For once, Kitanai felt uncomfortable by the stare of the creature, which seemed to be picked up by Saemon, who tossed him out and slammed the door, her eyes watching silently before moving back around the house.

The woman, who Kita couldn't bear to look at, turned out to be his mother. A tragic looking girl, who was actually taller than she was, seemed rather impressed with the young lady he had brought home. Though, his girlfriend couldn't seem to pay any attention. Her eyes were wandering around the house, over her clothes, and thinking back to the man.

'Kitanai. Look at this. Look at this mess. Look at that woman. A drunken mess. The way she's dressed. She smokes the same druggie shit you do no doubt.' Her lips twitched, had anyone had the detailed sight to notice, in a clear mental struggle. 'This is where your sending yourself. Pregnant, slum house, stale alcohol, and a drug-beaten body. Reality check, girlfriend, get your shit together before you end up here. She thought before her head snapped back to the woman and she gave a polite façade smile again.

"Kitanai. Ijimeru Kitanai. I'm his..." ...One Of Many... "...girlfriend." Her hand squeezed his in a moment of vulnerability and confusion. She was troubled, and was having issues taking in the fact that someone, no matter who, could grow up in such an environment. It made the orphanage look like a piece of glowing heaven. It made the warehouse seem like it was built of gold.

She really didn't have it that bad.

"It's a pleasure to meet you--I love the beads in your hair," There you go, Kita. Be charming. Be flattering. Be normal. Totally normal. Women like fashion. Women like compliments. Come on, dammit! Act like a lady! "I tried that once, but it doesn't look near as good with long hair." Her cyan eyes seemed to flash brightly for a moment, yet a smile stayed on her face, her hand gripping Saemon's.

The woman tried to pull at her outfit, clean off something she was eating from the front and stepped forward. Her bony hands gripped Saemon's huge shoulder and she smiled at her son with love in her dull eyes. "Thank you darling, you're so nice." she was talking to Kitanai even though her eyes were on her boy. "I'm so glad he has someone as sweet and beautiful as you in his life. You know he's such a vagabond? He was such a troublesome boy."

Saemon's face frowned more. Apparently she wasn't even going to wait more than a minute before starting in on him. So be it... With an annoyed feel about him, he gave Kiti's hand a tug and started his way into the main part of the house. It was clean for the most part but there were horrible signs of abuse on the tables and in little baskets around the place. There was a messed up futon on the floor where she or maybe her visitor had been sleeping instead of in her bedroom.. which only meant she was back to hording again.

Sighing he sat down on the long couch, bringing Kiti down on his lap if she would have it and slipped his arms around her waist. His mother was hot on their tails, ready to talk her heart out if he let her, but first she had to tidy up. It would give Kiti the time to look around the place. The floors were mostly clean and the kitchen looked completely unused. Every wall was liberally covered in pictures of family and loved ones. There were probably 100 of Saemon alone and maybe another 50 of a very handsome blond haired youth with sharp looking eyes. There was one very large image of what could only be imagine was Saemon's family. Tsumi was young and her hair was long and golden. She was standing beside a moderately tall man who looked very much like the blond person in all those pictures on the walls. Then there was a pre-teen Saemon, taller than his mother even then and he was holding a little boy, no older than 1.

Saemon's own eyes looked about, but he only saw what he used to have and sighed again. He was glad Kiti was there with him now.

After the two were in the livingroom, she hurried about pushing old scraps of paper and small tubes into a waste bin. There were also syringes and other contraptions one used to inject or snort drugs. "What did you want the other day, mother?" Saemon asked, using the formal term for his parent. There was no love in his voice, but the fact that he was there at all said he did feel for her.

The woman smiled falsely and came to sit on another chair nearby, perching on the edge. Her hands didn't seem to be able to stop moving. "Don't worry about it anymore, baby. I'm fine, don't you fret about your mom. No, tell me about Kitanai, I'm Tsumi by the way sweetheart. You can call me Tsumi or mom, whatever you'd prefer. Oh doll, you're just the prettiest I've ever seen."

The woman was very touchy, which was interesting, especially coming from the type of family Kitanai was from. Her preppy, uppity, brown-nosing family clashed heavily with this one. The woman moved to her, her eyes looking over at Saemon as she called him a vagabond, Kita's eyes raising as though she was about to ask a question, but Sae he pulled her hand ushering her into the other room as she gave a surprised smile, moving into the main room as her eyes attached to bottles and syringes sitting around. The woman quickly followed, almost like she noticed her eyes as she swept things into garbage cans and out of sight. Her cyan eyes wandering as she stepped over and around things, being led blindly by a comforting hand that soon took her and pulled her into his lap.

Oh, her father would have flipped!

His arms wrapped around her, and she couldn't help but be surprised as his mother took such an action so casually. Perhaps, that was how most people reacted, and only her own house would raise their eyebrows in surprise and despair. That was probably why she didn't spend any time there.

Saemon spoke about what she wanted, causing a thought to run through her head. Where had he gone if he didn't go to his mother's? Maybe he changed his mind on the way there. Based off of the way he acted, the later was probably the situation. And even then, her response would surely press his buttons. He moved all the way out here, dragging his feet, and she didn't even want to talk about it anymore. All she wanted to do was flatter the lady-friend he brought.

"Oh, Tsumi," Normally, she would actually call her 'Mom', which she found parents often preferred when they offered it, but she wasn't sure how Saemon would take that. She didn't want to test those waters right then and there. "You're going to make me blush." She laughed nervously, her hands moving to lay over the ones around her waist. "There isn't much to say about me," She smiled, brushing a stray hair behind her ear, "I'm twenty-two... I work in the military....uhm... I'm an orphan. I was adopted when I was 8 by the Isha family." She wasn't sure if she would recognize the wealthy family name, and as she spoke she tried to rack her brain for if what she was saying the man behind her even knew.

Maybe they needed to sit down and talk. Not like anything serious, but just talk. Spew out facts that were rather casual. Little things.

The woman was happy to have them as guests. She was also happy to eat up anything they offered her with a dim smile on her face.

Kitanai's hands smoothed over his own and he relished the touch, thought he didn't show it. His hands remained stilled on her middle and didn't say anything, he didn't even want to stay.

Regardless to his annoyance, his mother pursued the subjects, acting as though she were personable and a joy of conversation. "I'm so sad to hear that you lost your family, darlin'. Family means everything in the whole world, doesn't it, baby?" Saemon didn't answer, but his fingers twitched. That was a touchy subject.

"Sae and Roku are just the best brothers in the world. Roku is my youngest, he was always such a doll. I hope he finds a beautiful girl like you. He's such a lonely boy. He takes after his brother. Saemon doesn't like people either, I think he taught Roku to be like that." she tried to smile then and it faltered. Sae's hands twitched again, but this time it was for a different reason; he knew what she was going to say and hoped she wouldn't start down that road. "I wasn't a very good mother, I wasn't there for my boys like I shoulda been after their father was..." her face fell and she stood up suddenly, dragging a hand through her hair roughly.

The weak smile was disappearing and the woman was beginning to disappear into her memories. Awkward silence started to continue and Saemon spoke up then. "Mom, don't think about that, okay? Not today." Her son seemed to snap her out of it a little, enough anyway she was able to start wiggling her hands again and smiling brightly.

"Yes, of course baby. Oh Kitanai, I'm sure you'll be a wonderful mother some day. Are you and Saemon thinking about children?"

It was at that point that Saemon had to stand up. He made sure to slide Kiti off onto the couch next to him before standing. He was almost pacing now. He wanted to yell at her, his face showed it, his body language showed it, but he didn't do it. Why did he ever come?

"Whhhhaaatt? I was just asking, sweetheart? You two would make such pretty babies!" Obviously she knew she'd crossed the line. Again. But she was still smiling.

The woman reacted with the usual pity she normally heard, but the sympathy was lost on her. She didn't know her original parents, and ignorance was bliss in such a situation. Yet, the woman seemed to have issues of her own. Her eyes glazing over as Kita watched carefully, her hands wiggling to fit her fingers between Saemon's in a rather reassuring manner as he spoke softly to his mother.

She was a strong woman in a way. At least, the part she could see. The way she pushed away whatever was hurting her to find a more shallow part of her heart that wasn't as deep and painful as the one she had earlier remembered. Whatever had happened surely was a sad story, and she wasn't going to pry.

But, his mother would pry of course. A woman who liked children enough to make her son uncomfortable. He slid Kitanai off his lap, standing and seeming to pace as Kita folded her hands in her lap and gave a flattered smile. No one had ever asked her such a question before, and she watched Saemon for a moment before her eyes turned back to his mother.

"We're not quite that serious yet to discuss it in such a manner," Why not? Why not just go along with it. She wanted the woman to like her, and the best way to do it was to answer her prying questions. She was just being curious and loving--though it was clear the subject was either embarrassing or touchy for Saemon.

"Personally, however, someday I'd like to have one." She shrugged, making the number very specific. She wasn't crazy about children, but the idea itself was romanticized somewhere deep in her mind. It was that girly part of her mind that wanted a big wedding, and a family, and babies, and a cute little cottage somewhere after she retired. But that simply wasn't going to happen with someone like Saemon.

That's a little too many women for that. Though, of course, she'd need to prose the question someday. How on Earth did he plan on doing anything? If he loved all the women, then he'd want to settle down. It only made sense. But how did he plan on pulling that off.

Unless... he didn't?

"But that is a long way down the road," Her hand would reach out for Saemon as though to urge him to sit back down. She wanted him to relax, but she would never verbally state it. To the mother, it would simply look like she wanted to be near him, but hopefully, Saemon would get the underlying purpose.

Though, the conversations at hand weren't exactly male-friendly. They were under the table girly gossip between a mother and her son's girlfriend. Things they were supposed to giggle about and never tell the guys. But this wasn't exactly the type of home where the mom pulled the girlfriend into the kitchen while the dad popped a beer with his son. It simply wasn't that way.

This wasn't something Saemon could take, he realized. His mother, the questions. The flood of memories that always came with the imagery of children, the reluctance to accept that as a possibility.

He closed his eyes and said, "Mom, I have to go."

Her face fell but she didn't try to stop him. She was used to this from her boy and knew better than to fight him about it. Instead she smiled and looked at Kitanai. "Well it was a pleasure meeting you, honey. Don't be a stranger."

If Saemon had his way, no one would ever see his mother again. What a fool's errand. He didn't even look back, he just walked for the door and opened it. He would wait for the girl outside. Tsumi wouldn't see him out either, she would just stay inside, sad as could be about how things always ended up. No doubt she was would be plastered and high before the hour was out.

Kitanai smiled sweetly, waiting for the woman's answer, only to hear Saemon controlling himself, moving to leave as Kita stood suddenly, the woman giving her a gentle smile. "Yes, oh yes, thank you Tsumi," She nodded in a hurry, bowing before quickly ducking out after her much faster boyfriend, hopping down the patio towards him, "So soon, Saemon?" She asked curiously, her eyes worried and her brow scowled slightly as she moved towards him.

"Nevermind, let's not talk about it," She assuring, nodding once and gesturing for him to lead the way.

Once they were outside, the door closed, Saemon turned on Kitanai, pressing her back to the door. The huge man leaned over her and put a soft kiss on her soft lips. A strange feeling was encompassing him, a sense of foreboding maybe. He looked at the beauty before him... really looked at her... then stepped away.

"I'm going to head off, Kiti-chan. I think I need to see Roku or something." It was weak, it wasn't true either; he wanted to be alone. But he relished in the thought that he would see her later. He didn't have the mind to smile or even half grin, so he waved over his shoulder at her, a small goodbye.

Whoa. That was unexpected.

She backed against the door, his lips pressing against hers as she smiled slowly through it, her eyes closing briefly before openning to look at him longingly, and he back to her. A long look. A meaningful look. Something deep inside them churning so unexpectedly.

Or something.

Right.

He just needed to head off. She got that. Kitanai nodded slowly, his body turning, waving her off as she smiled slowly, waiting for him to head out, before, she too would make her way out.
