Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Yuki looked at the name on the piece of paper in front of her, she was vaguely familiar first name but the surname she knew well, as the son of a good friend Daisuke's request for a private tutor would of course be accepted it fact she was a little honored that it was her that he wanted to be tutored by, her response to his request has already been sent off and now it was just the matter of waiting for him to arrive.

"Are you going to let me punch him?" Yuro's booming voice echoed around the empty classroom as the hulking suit of armor address the women.

"No Yuro, you are not going to punch him," She replied sighing at him, the frustration in her voice was clear "You are simply here to observe and if needed to offer some assistance,"

"Like punching him, got it!" Yuki didn't bother responding choosing to roll her eyes instead starting to wonder why she didn't bring Hana along for the ride rather then Yuro. "I think learning to punch something is far more useless then whatever you are going to teach him, punching things is fun" To demonstrate his point the armor punched wall, the plates of metal clanging together as he did the, not realizing either his strength or the weakness of the wall he left a fist size hole into the other room quickly trying to hide if from the female, hoping that she wouldn't notice it.

"You are going to pay to get that repair you know," She didn't have to look at him to know what he did the noises that he was making where evidence enough, "Just stand in the corner and stay out of the way Yuro,"

"Fine," If a inanimate object could sulk, Yuro would have been as he stomped his way into the corner, sitting his bulk down on the floor folding his arms.

It didn’t take long for Daisuke to ready himself in the morning, nor did it take him much time to leave the house and head on his usual route towards the academy grounds. By now he had the most efficient path worked out to the point that his specific strides could be considered an art, but to the student that was not the case. He was just traveling as normal, pondering to himself as he moved. The letter had come with quite some surprise. Daisuke hadn’t quite expected granted at this point in his career as a shinobi – if you could even call it that while he was a student. But nonetheless he was interested to seek out the topic that Yuki had assigned to the lesson on the horizon.

Only the slightest of sounds drifted through the academy grounds as Daisuke’s feet touched down inside the courtyard. The patter of his two steps as he landed was too loud for the boy’s taste, it was something that he would have to improve upon in the future – but still he continued inside. By now his footsteps were barely audible as he swiftly walked through the halls of the academy, growing ever closer to the designated classroom he had been assigned.

He was dressed as plainly as ever, a deep blue top was paired with equally coloured trousers, each bound at the end with grey fabric. A simple beige jacket sat stop his shirt, nothing too flashy for the student – though it was indeed practical and held all the equipment he needed. Soon enough the young Minamoto boy appeared in the classroom doorway with a bow. It was a deep and respectful bow which the student offered in full before speaking. It had seemed that Yuki, as well as a suit of armour, was already waiting for him.

“Lady Yuki,” he paused or effect before continuing “thank you for accepting my request. It is an honour and a privilege to have the opportunity to study under your tutelage.” Daisuke took a step inside, taking a few moments to scan Yuki as well as the suit of armour. His gaze swiftly returned to his imminent teacher as he came to a stop a couple of paces into the room. The student did not sit, he simply stood and waited for further instructions. Inside he was eager for the lesson to get underway, but he did not allow for his facial expression to betray his feelings, instead he kept a deadpan look upon his young face.

Yuki wasn't left waiting longer before Daisuke joined her in the classroom, she was surprised just how much he looked like his father it was just like looking at a younger Sushi. Watching as he entered the classroom Yuki smiled warmly at him as he bowed at her.
"You are very welcome young Daisuke," She stood up from behind the desk guesting him into the room, "Please take a seat," she pushed the seat pushed her chair sliding it under the desk before turning to face the large chalkboard took up nearing the whole od the bak wall that was behind her. There was a small shelf under the board with various pieces of chalk of difference lengths rested, pick up on of these sticks Yuki starting to write, there was a loud squeak as the piece of chalk met the surface of the board as she wrote the topic that they were going to be discussing today.

"ANBU BASICS"

After she had finished writing she place the chalk back on the surface of the deck in front of her claps her hands together to get rid of any of the dust that lingered still on her fingers. "Today I am going to go over the basics of the Anbu branch, what we do and the sub-branches that the Anbu branch as a whole is made up of. I am sure that you already know something about the branch Daisuke so I would like you to tell me what to know about them?" She walked in front of the desk leaning against the wood as she spoke to the boy, he was a smart boy and his father we will verse in the ways of Leaf Village so she was more the sure that some of the knowledge was passed down fro him.

As soon as Daisuke entered and introduced himself, he was greeted and instructed to take a seat, which the young boy did without hesitation. He moved swiftly towards a desk, silently sitting down and attentively watching his teacher for the day. It was clear that this was a lesson directed purely towards the Minamoto boy and his potential future career path – he kept a smile to himself, hidden behind a veil of indifference of expression, but in this case the boy was rather pleased with the projected growth he would face. The student watched on as Yuki moved to the board and began to speak, requesting to know what knowledge the boy possessed in regards to the ANBU branch. In truth Daisuke didn’t know many details and only really had a vague idea of the structure behind the ANBU. He took a moment to take a breath before speaking up.

“I know that the ANBU operate in areas that aren’t suited to most shinobi. There is an element of secrecy in the branch, it focuses on direct threats to the village. But apart form that I know very little apart from the branch being broken up into different sections – I don’t have the details on this though, ma’am.”

Daisuke sat upright in his chair, his focus was clear even if he wasn’t quite able to give as many details as he desired. Hopefully his approach to the class was goo enough to see him through, after all, it was intended to be a lesson that filled in the blanks as far as he could tell. And with any luck it would lead him onwards to something new within the village – something of great interest and also subtle influence. Daisuke was one to stay in the background of things, observe from afar and act only when necessary and in a decisive manner. Hopefully these things would translate well to the ANBU. But for now he simply waited, ready to listen to what Yuki was going to say next.

The female nodded, it seemed like she did have something to teach the boy after all but it was good that he at least knew the basics of what the branch was about which was a good start. Yuki stood up and walked back to the chalk board.

"That is correct, we do mainly work in the shadows but there is much more that we do," She started to writing on the board again.

"Assassination"

"Interrogation"

"Diplomacy"

Yuki placed the piece of chalk back on the desk in front of her and cleared her throat. "The ANBU branch is broken up into three different sub-branches, these branches are Assassination, Interrogation and Diplomacy, each of them have different ways of operating and roles to carry out inside and outside the village, each of them cater to different shinobi's talents some of them are course of more dangerous then others but each of them play a vital role." She leant back on the desk again "Once our pass your training and become a fully fledged ANBU you will get a chance to join one of these branches that matches your talents, for example if you have a particular aptitude for combat you will be recruited to the Assassination Branch and so on and so forth.," She looked at Daisuke to make sure that he was following along "Do you have any questions so far?"

Daisuke sat in silence as he both watched and listened to his instructor as she stood at the front of the classroom. She seemed somewhat satisfied by his barebones answer, and for that the Minamoto boy was thankful. In a sense it was good that he had some slight knowledge before coming into the lesson without knowing too much, it meant there was plenty still left to be learnt and understood; a well of knowledge whose waters were yet to be savoured and drained. The thirst that Diasuke had for the knowledge of the ANBU ran deep within him, but it did not show on his face or in the tone of his voice whenever he spoke.

He continued to listen carefully as Yuki continued with her explanation of the branch, detailing each of the sections in turn – not in a huge amount of detail but enough to introduce the young lad to their designated purposes at a glance. He made sure to note each of them on a small writing pad that he had brought along with him.

From Yuki’s explanation it seemed as though there was no specific area within the ANBU branch that operated exclusively inside and outside of the village. That made sense considering that threats could always be internal as well as external, Daisuke had seen it himself in the past, threats from inside the village that he no longer spoke about – but still it made sense to him. He raised an eyebrow at the mention of training as well as the question asked of him by Yuki. Daisuke paused for a few moments to think and dwell upon the branches before speaking.

“What does training within the branch involve? And what sort of characteristics do you look for in a potential recruit to the ANBU? If a student wants to join is there anything you would recommend they do before they are considered for the next intake?” His questions were related to one and other and rapid in their emergence from is mind. He didn’t seem to be overly eager, but it was pretty clear that he was asking for his own sake, both to satisfy his interest as well as to gain what he could to prepare himself for what he hoped would result in his selection to the branch. He didn’t know any ANBU personally apart from Lady Yuki, and so this was all still a mystery to him – yet he continued to endeavour to find out what he could.
