Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

His eyes wandered back and forth from the sheer magnificence of the Kumogakure's entry point, the place in the skies or so he heard in rumors. A foreigner like himself wandering a new yet fascinating place. The wind clashed against his face as he waited for someone to entertain him, he didn't want to rush in like an idiot and get himself imprisoned or kicked out, and if it did - everything he did just to get here would be a waste. Unlike his previous village which wasn't a place for a Shinobi, just a normal one, and now that he's visiting such a well-known place - he knew that he needed to take the each step as careful as possible.

[crappy post - I'll pick up the pace soon]

Another day at the gates and this searing pain in his arm didn't do much to help with the trot back from the plains. Seeing as he somehow was transported entirely from the area, Yuuto had to make due with his current armaments at the moment. Without his blades he lost that one small bit of protection he had, but the materialization of his shadow weapons was becoming that much more potent. Approaching the gates he found a man for all intents and purposes, who looked lost or as though he had found what he was seeking. There was no outwardly appearance that would make him believe the stranger was a Kumogakure shinobi and thus he would have to assume either the man was a lost citizen, passerby, or another refugee.

Even if Yuuto was not in Anbu Gear he was still deemed a "Main Branch" Shinobi and thus would represent Masaru Yuuto as one and not Zenku the Anbu. He'd tie the Kumo headband tightly around his forehead as to hide his third eye and present his authority at the Dragon Tooth Pass. "Ello, stranger assume you're not here just to check out our gates correct? I'm Masaru Yuuto, Chuunin of Kumogakure. If you'd like to seek entry, I'll need your passport for identification of course." Observing the man he'd would not his brown hair, and blue eyes. There was a confident look about this one, but other than that nothing special to report. Hopefully this would be a simple fellow and not someone seeking to cause strife. Kumo had too much of that these days and it was all too unnecessary truthfully.

Fuu summited the final dozen stairs with two lunges, sliding to a halt back under the open sky. He hated using the towers as a means to ascend to his post atop the gates, but the paperwork he had just delivered had to be submitted to the gate itself. After a brief stop in one of the tower cells which had been designated an ‘office’, the young man had wasted no time on his way to his destination, taking the spiraling stairs six at a time. The dark of the gate interior always impacted his vision, and Fuu dreaded the moment the sun would sear into his retinas and blind him for a few seconds. He chose instead to opt for scaling the gate itself, whenever he had the chance.

After waiting a few moments for his eyes to adjust, the ANBU stepped out into the light and surveyed the top of the wall. Shrouded in his heavy black robes and spider mask, he walked briskly down the length of the wall and back again before turning his attention to the ground below, satisfied with the gates upkeep. He wasn’t sure why he took it upon himself to personally inspect the gate weekly, but Fuu chalked it up to diligence and perhaps a little paranoia. He knew that there were people trained and paid specifically to maintain the structures of Kumogakure, but the young man slept more soundly at night knowing the gate was secure. Fuu was confident the behemoth of a structure could withstand any assault, should it ever have the need. ‘The only problem is, we just let everyone in anyway.’

Such seemed to be the case today as well he realized, observing the two figures down below. He wasn’t positive, but Fuu thought he recognized the voice and gait of Kumo-nin that had moved to interrogate the stranger below. ‘Zenku?’ He wondered, staring down from atop his perch on the wall. Personally, Fuu preferred to spend as little time without his mask as possible, making him and his arachnid styled mask easily recognizable to his comrades and keeping his face out of the equation. In fact, his mask and his height were perhaps the only recognizable features about the ANBU, who kept himself hooded and robed even during the rare heat spells that occurred occasionally. ‘Perhaps he wants to appear more approachable to guests and foreigners?’ he mused, focusing his gaze onto the stranger in question. ‘If it is Zenku, this seems to be his forte. Best let him handle the talking.

So Fuu stood by, standing on the edge of gate and making himself apparent to those below. He wouldn’t leave his perch unless called upon, or unless things went south. Fighting the urge to light a cigarette, he watched the men below diligently, searching for any signs of trouble. ‘Damn foreigners.’

As he approached the carved gates of the village, a shinobi appeared before him, approaching him with either caution or bravery, both of which he couldn't honestly blame for the sake of security. Taking a good look he wore the formal attire of those shinobis that used to pass by his village when he was young and how curious he was of how they trained and fought. A smile appeared in his face as he only got to watch these amazing shinobi but never talked to them once or gather in-depth information.

As the man finally got a good distance between him, he asked if he was a stranger checking out the gates or trying to enter the village. He scratched his head, looking for a good answer that wouldn't offend him or anything in particular. Not like he had any hidden agenda or some evil intentions. Though one word caught him off guard - a passport. He wasn't any shinobi to own such thing and his village was simply a crossroad and suddenly traveling into the world without another thought surely hit him in the head to miss something so important.

"Hi... well you see - first time dropping by and was actually looking forward to get in the village to do some sightseeing, just a tourist and all. About my identification papers, well funny thing is... I don't have one." He could only keep an awkward smile in hopes that would direct the man's mind from thinking how stupid he was to miss such an important thing.

He stood there, waiting for the man's reply hoping that he won't be sent away - a real heartbreaker if such thing would occur, not that he could do anything about it anyway.

It seemed that this passerby did not have any type of identification. Yuuto scratched his head, as he was permitted to let people in but only if they met certain conditions. "Well that's a shame stranger. Kumogakure is a pretty friendly place to outsiders, but we have a few very strict rules. One of which being I cannot allow you entry if you do not have a passport or identification. I need to be able to know that you are who you say you are. If I can't verify that much that I cannot and will not let you in. However there are ways around this but you must be willing to submit to a formal screening, which you will undergo so examinations and have to really give us your background story. Now of course falsifying yourself if found out could be a serious offense and hindrance on your stay here. So it's in your best interest to be straight with us at all times. Now I can submit you for screening, to which additional authorities may become present, or if you know a place you can receive papers from, I can let you in based off those. Would you like to take the screening?" He was following the village laws as best as possible, and this stranger may or may not agree with them. However regardless of such things this was not something Yuuto could bend on nor would he allow himself to. Instead he'd have to turn this man away if he refused but it'd be one less foreigner to be constantly under surveillance than normal. Kumo Anbu were pretty diligent about keeping tabs on people.

He only slightly noticed the presence of another person in the distance. He wouldn't dare turn his back on an unknown visitor, but if this was a gate guard or an Anbu then he still had some type of defense and support on his back. With his current injuries it was preferred there be other people here as well. He did not want to get into a fight without being properly prepared. There was a good chance if he was, then he'd be in an extremely unfavorable situation, a.k.a deep doodoo.

Without moving an inch, Fuu stood vigil above. He trusted no foreigner, no matter how innocent they appeared. Though he couldn’t quite make out what was being said below, the ANBU assumed his comrade below was going through the usual procedures. With any luck, the stranger below would not possess the required papers to be granted entry, and they would get to screen him. The screening could involve a wide variety of techniques, depending on who was in command today. Most common was the truth serum, though there were other, more complicated techniques for certain. Whatever the case was, Fuu would stand by and await any instruction.

He knew that technically he was probably out of his jurisdiction, spending as much time as he did on the wall, but nobody had ever complained. The ANBU figured that as long as he went on his patrols and completed his assignments, his superiors wouldn’t mind him spending his free time in defense of the village. After all, just the sight of masked Mempo was often enough to deter crime in any area, and Fuu figured it would make even foreign operatives think twice about trying to pull a something on the lone, injured Kumo shinobi below.

So he watched and waited, prepared to step in and support his ally. If needed he would retrieve any supplies or personnel required for the screening, delivering it silently before returning to his perch above. If he wasn’t called upon he would remain motionless, a masked gargoyle silently watching the happenings below.

Fuu frowned as his headset crackled to life. Apparently somebody was advertising and teaching dark techniques back inside the village. Cursing audibly, the ANBU lifted his mask and spat mucus onto the gate. “The guy's name is Miroku Akkuma, calls himself a demon sage and mercenary of the wastes."

“God damn foreigners.“ He growled, spinning on his heel and launching of the gate. The man below would have to be handled by someone else, or he could just go home. Fuu didn’t care either way, he had bigger problems.

Agito stood there thinking of the options when it was rather obvious in the first place, if he managed to get a screening with this man and allowed in the village, perhaps that same thing can be done in the future or at least, if ever he comes back - he'll already have a background or history in their paperwork. He gave a stern look at the man before fixing his posture. "I'll submit to the screening. Just lead me to the right way." He replied to the man's question.

Surely there were no violence happening today, not like he wanted or was looking forward for it. If ever he was able to finish his screening without any problems, then he's good as gold to wander around the village. Problem is, he doesn't have the slightest clue what might happen after screening, roaming the streets with probably an another shinobi to keep him watch all the time and if that was the case, his hunt would pretty much go down the drain but nevertheless, he still has some tricks up his sleeves to finish what he had in mind. A lot of questions were coming up in his mind to handle the situation if ever it changes, he wouldn't want to risk everything now for some stupid act or answer.

After everything, if ever the man decides to ask more questions, he would probably just stand there and answer with the best thing he can get or if everything is all set, then he'd follow the man back in the village or probably somewhere else for the screening. Hopefully not a torture cell designed for interrogating strangers.

Yuuto would tap to his headset and begin to call the Kage Tower. "Heya got a fellow here with no passport. Do I submit him in for additional screening?" A voice would promptly respond back in an almost irritated tone as though this was the hundrenth time they'd heard this situation.

"He has no passport or form of identification? What does the visitor wish to enter for?"

"Eh he claims to be a tourist and just wants to visit about. No pressing need to truly enter...."

"For a tourist? No I don't believe we're supposed to keep tabs on them. Is there anything unusual about him that you can immediately note? Do you think he's really just a tourist? We're really spread thin right now, but if you can squeeze in another random person and get watch on them things could be made available. Get all forms of identification, DNA, and anything else you can think of."

Yuuto would sigh and summon a scroll to which he would hand the stranger. "Write down all information about yourself. Why you're here and what you extensively plan to see while here. Our village is becoming inflated with refugees and tourists aren't a high priority right now. We need a passport, so if you don't have one where do you hail from? Can you have someone vouch for your identity? We'll need to send a letter there in order to get confirmation on who you are. Also we'll need to take a snapshot of you, and I'll need one of your possessions. Are you a shinobi or of shinobi lineage? Can you utilize chakra? If you can we'll need to keep a record of your chakra. Will need a sample of your DNA as well."

The man started to talk through his headset, all through out he was in his presence, surely it would be an awkward situation but such protocol has to be followed, especially for a stranger like himself. He was feeling nervous, while he can hear the man talking on his headset, he couldn't the other speaker, so thoughts like "Kill the stranger..." were popping in his head. He could only stand there and wait for a signal.

After a few seconds, the man summoned a scroll and handed it over to him. Always carrying his own pen and notebook, he wouldn't have any problems filling up such paperwork.

Information said:
Name: Agito
Age: 20
Village: Cross Village
Position: Traveler
Experienced with Jutsu: No
Reason: Documentation of Historical Sites and Treasures

With the basic information down, he bite his thumb and let a single drop of blood fall unto the scroll before handing it over to the man.

"Oh... so I guess coming here today is a bad timing, sorry bout that... But here -" He replied scratching his head before reaching out to his pouch, taking out one of his treasures, the Witherless Rose, a red rose that is blooming with life with some weird chakra flowing into it that keeps the flora alive.

"Please take good care of it, I'll be back for it once I'm done with my research. You are very welcome to send a letter to my little village. Its somewhere... not honestly sure but it is a crossroad of many travelers like myself, so we get a lot of shinobi and tourists." He added as he waited for the man to react.

The traveler seemed to be very compliant with the rules which was pleasing to Yuuto. He'd grab the scroll and check out the blood sample for a moment. They had DNA, and one of his many possessions. The flower was weird giving off some type of energy which made the Anbu wonder if it was this mysterious tourist's energy. Regardless things were in order and he had to get back into the village not grill a tourist. "Alright then, seems to be in order. Thank you for your understanding and help Agito. Welcome to Kumogakure, I'd advise checking out the Seki District as we have many hotels, restaurants, and other activities around that area. Please behave yourself and do try not to get into any altercations. Welcome Again and enjoy your stay." Yuuto would signal for the Gate to Open and walk Agito in, parting ways with the tourist when he they were able to make it through successfully.

With everything set and done, the man welcomed him. A brief sigh of relief and the feeling of cold sweat are now of the past. Agito simple gave the man a smile and bowed before leaving the place. "Thank you very much for your time and patience, I will certainly check out the Seki District, probably drop by in your library if I happen to pass by one. I'd really love to learn so much about your history." He replied.

As he looked up, watching the rolling clouds pass by as he could see a glimpse of opportunity, he had not failed in his quest and he will continue no matter the cost might be, even if it costs his pride, there are certainly things that his eyes can't avoid. He continued forward as the gates slowly opened, bidding the man a final wave of hand in hopes that he would see him again for the only cause, he left his precious belonging with the man. "I hope we'll see each other again." He added before stepping inside the gates, looking the at large structure that served their only way in and out of the village.

Now is the start of his first adventure, the stories in the village hidden in the clouds. He'd hope that his experience and gains would be worth the time he traveled to the village of lightning. Hopefully, everything would go well - especially with the number of tourists according to the man, everything might work as planned.
