The weight of the world and shinobihood bears its influence upon the woman’s features; a perceptible weariness, though not strikingly so, behind eyes having lost the spark of youth. Still, there remains an innate gentleness; depicting one reserved, yet not inhospitable.
Five-foot-ten, Siu clearly stands higher than the average female; and even some males. Whilst not intimidating in figure, wiry proportions reveal the fine muscle attributed to her lifestyle, reminding of one not easily tossed aside. Raven locks, once long and proud, now cover over half her nape by inches.
Distant from the frigid climate of her homeland, cooler attire was adopted to better suit her nomadic lifestyle; particularly against the deserts of Kaze no Kuni. Donning a fitted muscle shirt of black, within the fabric is woven a layer of kusari(鎖) mesh for protection. Black combat boots add weight and authority to her step, and force to her kick. Two kukri rests within either side of the dark leather holster belt, wrapped around fitted cargoes matching her top, with deep pockets for shinobi tools and belongings. The holster also contains additional pouches to accommodate further items aside from weaponry.
Upon the left inner wrist of her fair skin rests the tattoo of her eternal contract: A black symbol representing an alchemical circle.
Psyche
Polite and traditional in principles—observing practices such as respect for elders and superiors, courtesy, and conflict limitation—intrinsically, she loathes immoral characters: Despite the nature of her own profession and life not always permitting virtue.
Though reserved to a degree, she’s considerate and kindhearted; especially towards those close to her. Even to a fault sometimes.
Well versed in speech at youth as an aspiring author, stranding in Marshland still marks its influence upon her tongue despite passing years. The subtle accent still endures; with sentence structuring typically proving unusual.
The woman proves rather contemplative, particularly concerning her involuntary shinobi recruitment and morality: Yet no few other philosophical musings tend to arrive and fade, like the ebb and flow of the ocean. It wouldn’t be inaccurate to say she practices greater dialogue in her head than with real people.
Whilst sensible, her emotions can get the best of her from time to time, attributed to her temperament: Though, she typically manages to maintain a reasonable balance. That heavy cigarette dependence of hers may prove much ascribed.
Origins
Background (0-14)Her father a successful author, the youth too had aspirations to follow in his footsteps. However, when she was unexpectedly discovered to possess a natural ability to manipulate chakra, her life would completely change as she found herself suddenly forced to join the shinobi academy against her will by the village.
Whilst wealthy, her mother nor her father had a history of shinobihood, making Siu an extremely abnormal case within her family. Her previous pursuits and dreams suddenly rendered irrelevant, Siu did what she could to adapt to her new lifestyle. Despite her initially lackluster performance and unpromising results, in addition to the inward emotional turmoils she constantly faced due to this greatly undesired change, the youth would still rather unexpectedly begin to slowly blossom into what began to look like a competent shinobi: Shockingly even managing to pass the Chuunin exams with such impressive results, she had personally been invited to train as a direct disciple under Osu within the Medical Branch, despite previously only having experience within the Main Branch.
Disappearance (14-17)
Though her future gradually seemed to be growing bright, fate seemed to have yet more in store for the unawares youth. Whilst dispatched on what initially appeared as a simple archaeological research and recovery mission through the Marshland, accompanied by the academy student, Shizuku, the upcoming Chuunin would mysteriously disappear within the foreign nation; her younger companion left to return without her. Months progressed into years without the slightest hope of the youth's return: Eventually, the village would have no choice but to mark her as yet another unfortunate young and upcoming shinobi tragically “Killed in Action”, and the story of the Kumogakure would continue on without her for many years to come.Return From Marshland (17-27)
Siu’s return found itself faced with re-evaluation of identity, and unfamiliarity with her own culture. Sharing over three years of hardship with the deprived and oppressed of Marshland—those provided less opportunity from birth, many perishing before even allowed a chance for life—propelled the maturing youth to reconsider the gravity of her own individual ordeals, and question her place in this world as an individual, rather than just a shinobi: The title of which, she’d been forced to bury for survival’s sake in the ruthless land; one hunting and kidnapping her kind for execution or forced conversion. The deep befriendment of two Marshlanic orphans and slaves, Rae and Hiwi, taught her bitter lessons and realities she’d not learned in Kumogakure otherwise—and the untimely death of the former, the deep pain of loss.
War, deprivation, slavery, lawlessness, slaughter: All would become simple commonplace amidst her stranding; unpleasant perceptions deeply burned into the psyche for life. It’s no wonder the kunoichi developed her heavy cigarette dependence amidst this time. Language readjustment also proved another hurdle; evidenced by a returning accent and troubles with native speech.
Ties reestablished and strengthened with her former friend, Shizuka; blossoming from close companionship to a deep sisterhood—a bond thicker than biological blood. She’d also develop close ties with her childhood instructor, Shieo, who’d served as a kind of role model and father figure amidst the kunoichi’s development. Amongst this time, Siu would also learn the importance of cherishing bonds.
Wandering & Eternity: Jashinism (27-Present)
Kumogakure shifts into a new generation; much of its previous either unseen, retired, or dead. The village’s shinobi count proves gravely scarce, suffering an all-time low. Its supremacy deteriorates.A severe wanderlust kindles: A yearning to break from the limbo of tedious missions and Academy Instructing. To discover the world beyond Kumogakure’s gates, and practices of shinobi villages and cultures not her own; that she might also rediscover a place in the grand scheme.
Kaze no Kuno marked as the starting point for her adventure, Siu’s journey found itself met with an unexpected, tragic twist; well nigh ending afore even truly beginning. An unofficial investigation agreed out kindheartedness would result in her capture into an unwilling servant of Jashin, carried out by a mysterious male known as the ‘Storyteller’.
Gross surgeries, experiments, and inhumane rituals would transform her body into something cursed—or blessed—with immortality: Bloodshed and sacrifice, its preservation.
Escape arrived at the cost of an eternal agreement with a Youkai known as Luna, Valistus—for better or worse. Warring against herself to fend off corruption and madness, the Headsman now strives to understand her new existence, and what use this immortality can be put to in this world.
