(1300 words)Yong sat cross legged in front of the small table, he sipped on the cup of tea and looked at his sister. He had shared his life story with her... Well as much as he could remember.
He had told of how he had become apprenticed to the great Myakashi Migoya after the former had repaired his damaged body and returned him to this world, of how he had hunted men and become an Anbu of the Village hidden in the Leaves and of his eventual betrayal and flight from the gates.
He had told of his brief but catastrophic battle at those gates and how he had left them a wanted man, wanted for the slaughter of another Leaf Shinobi.
"It is good to see you Sister, to sit , tell me of your life. Tell me of your studies and how you came to be an Anbu of leaf."<i></i>
Kiko smiled, it had been a long time since she had been able to have a conversation with her brother, she felt the bond as if it had never been severed.
"All the Elements came fairly naturally to me brother, my tutors said it had something to do with a unique chakra system that allowed for a free form of chakra manipulation, some called it a neutral elemental affinity..."
She held the teapot in a traditional style, her kimono draped hand placed gently over the lid as she refilled her cup, her brother looked on appearing genuinely interested in what she had to say. She took a sip of the fresh green tea before continuing.
"... Though the finer arts of Genjutsu have always been a problem for me. i have been unable to master even the simplest Genjutsu."
Yong nodded as she spoke, interjecting when she had finished her sentence "It appears to be a family trait Kiko-chan, Genjutsu has always alluded me and been my weakness also and it appears we have similarities in our elemental mastery, how interesting... Please continue Kiko-chan."<i></i>
Kiko refilled Yong's tea, she felt strange divulging this information to a known missing ninja but after all he had told her about his life and travels she knew she could trust him one hundred percent, even down to her strategy on how to deal with Genjutsu. She took another sip before continuing.
"That is where we differ my brother, there is something about that has always seemed obvious to me... When someone uses something that alters my mind I can feel the effects down to my core. Again something that has stumped my teachers and tutors but it seems through a pressure of will I am able to escape from... Or at least be aware of any sort of mind or body altering Genjutsu that is being used on me."
She took another, longer sip, letting the taste of the tea rest on her tongue for a moment before swallowing.
"It was a shock during my Anbu Training, and it was determined that very little other than straight forward intimidation and physical torture would work to garner information from me... No truth serum combination yet developed, nor Genjutsu designed to enter someones mid, would effect me for long enough for them to gain any information except the the information I would choose to divulge."
Yong shook his head in amazement, up until this point he had thought there were very few who were stronger than he. He had never dreamed that his sister still lived, let alone been more of a prodigy than himself.
"If it can be tought, I would love to learn how you do that Kiko-chan. Genjutsu has always frightened the shit out of me."<i></i>
Kiko nodded at her brother, she would teach him as much as she could, hopefully their shared blood would hold the secret to how such a feat had been achieved. Though it had taken her years to master the technique she had no doubt that if it was something that could be taught that this man, her long lost brother and last 'living' relative would be the one to do it.
"With all of our similarities, Yong-kun I would be honestly surprised it is not something you will be able to learn from me, though I am not a great teacher by any stretch...
"But I digress, if you wish it I will continue, I hope I am not boring you... After years apart and all I can seem to blather about is work."
Yong smiled before sipping more tea and saying a few words.
"By no means are you boring me sister, your life fascinates me, every thing about you fascinates me... And when some one is in our line of work it tends to consume all other aspects of our life... Please continue if you wish, I am very eager to hear more."<i></i>
She smiled back at him, it had been so long since she had smiled that she almost had forgotten what it felt like.
"Well if your sure I am not boring you then I will continue... There is something about the way people mould chakra that seems blatantly obvious to me, it probably goes some way in explaining why my Body Bind is stronger than most, but I am able to miss nothing... If a Ninjutsu is used in my presence I am able to resist if not completely deflect the Ninjutsu... Something about the way the Chakra reacts to me is different, I am able to see, almost feel, what the jutsu was intended to be used for and manipulate my defence almost before it happens.
"The medical staff here in the Hidden Village of Leaf first attributed my extreme reflexes and chakra capabilities to some sort of Legendary Bloodline, or the unconscious use of one of the Forbidden Kinjutsu and began tests to see which it was that was influencing me. After ample testing they were able to determine very little other than the fact that our blood is very pure, no delineation from the very first settlers of the Fire Nation, no cross contamination of Legendary Bloodlines had occurred as so often is the case with families that had been in the country for generations.
There also was no unconscious manipulation of Forbidden Kinjutsu's, nor any conscious one for that matter. It seems I am an oddity, though a very lucky one."
She shook her head, she had not meant to ramble and sipped some tea with an imbaresed swiftness. Yong smiled as he saw her hesitation in continuing.
"That is all amazing Kiko-chan. It seems you have accomplished so much in your pursuit of your nindo, even without the influence of your big brother... What of the so called advanced elements? Do any of these fall into your prodigious repitware?"<i></i>
Yong sipped his tea as he awaited her reply.
"Paper... It seemed so illogical at first but the manipulation of paper as a weapon became more and more intriguing in my mind as i developed in power... The way chakra could make it like steel... The way it could flow through the air, sharper than razor blades and yet look so innocent.
I think no greater secret weapon could be hidden in such plain sight in this tumultuous little world, it has been greatly underestimated by more than one person who never had a chance to learn another lesson... At least not in this realm of existence..."
A grin came over her face before she sipped more tea.
"Their final lesson... And I am sure the one they wish they had learnt earlier..."<i></i> Yong shared her grin as she poured some more tea into his cup.
"I would imagine so... Though there are other lessons that people have learnt the hard way... The Advanced Element that they refer to as Mirror has come in handy more than once. It seems to catch most people by surprise when their jutsu and their elements bounce or come back at them in a lethal way.
There are ways of manipulating chakra so that its lack of element reflects and deflects jutsu, it is a simple matter to flow chakra around one self and manipulate it back in an aggressive manner. It sometimes boggles me as to why not everyone is able to do the things I can do. Reflection of jutsu should not be a complication, it seemed so simple to me as I learnt the abilities required to master this Advanced element... Do you know what I mean?"
Yong nodded, "It seems we have a lot more in common than I would have though possible, the Mirrors of that particular advanced element have saved me on more than one occasion... And let me guess, my sister... The elements of blood and plasma also came relatively naturally to you?" he sipped more tea, a mild smile of amusement coming over his normally gruff countenance as the look of shock crossed his sisters face.
"There seems to be nothing that our blood can not tell us about each other my brother, and it also seems like secrets need not be withheld, for we may be able to help each other with the abilities we both seem to have inherited by blood.
"let me tell you of how Blood also came to be at my disposal, there are ways of manipulating ones own blood to be used as a weapon after all the chakra systems also flow through the blood of you and your victims. I have been told that this sort of ninjutsu, a particularly insidious element of ninjutsu, this release involves utilizing chakra to manipulate the force of life itself; In my opponents theirs flows as freely as a river. What makes this fearsome for them is the fact that this chakra nature grows in strength as my victims grow weaker, drawing strength upon their blood to fuel my own powers... and in other cases it grants me the ability to outright manipulate it."
Yong nodded, his understanding was very thorough on the subject of Blood Manipulation as he had taken it to the extreme with the use of forbidden arts.
"There is a cursed path, a Kinjutsu of sorts... Some have called it Jashinism, though I have never seen the worship of a fictitious God... It allowed me to control the feelings of the nerve signals to an opponents brain through the manipulation of the blood that they have spilt, and through the spilling of a little of my own.
"The sensation sometimes became so real to them that they would expire from the technique alone. Have you thought about developing such techniques? They might help you in your pursuits as an anbu?"<i></i>
Kiku thought for a moment, before responding "I have thought it before, though the idea did appeal to me I found there was a similar way to manipulate the power of healing medical jutsu to destroy my opponents at a cellular level, it is a simple manipulation of the blood, plasma and bones... It seems to suit my purposes quite nicely."
The tea pot was almost empty, it had been a long time since she had spoken with someone so candidly. She smiled as she refilled the tea pot and let it begin to boil with a simple fire jutsu to heat the pot.
She began rolling a cigaret as she continued, "the same with the Advanced element known as Plasma... To me it was simply a refinement of the fire, lightning and wind elements... A logical next step, I have found that the Plasma element is essentially chakra condensed into a form of pure, free flowing energy. My techniques of this nature are both incredibly powerful and diverse, making this element particularly lethal against nearly any opponent I have found my self having to overcome... The raw strength and power that it allows me, with pinpoint accuracy and focus. I have severed tendon and muscle with a simple gesture that would have only left the flesh scorched or bruised if the elements were used on their own.
"With all of the manipulations I was able to learn a fighting style that allowed for greater Ninjutsu Manipulation though it does leave you slightly more vulnerable to physical techniques, though the downside seems to be greatly outweighed by the damage that it allows me to extract from my opponents."
She drew deeply on her cigarett. "And that seems about all, you now know more than almost any other living soul... What do you think?"
Yong smiled as he reached for the tobacco pouch and began to roll his own, "You genuinely astound me little sister, the fact that we have achieved almost perfect co evolution despite the fact that we have grown up so geographically far away... i am glad you found me sister... It is good to be with you again."<i></i>
They smiled at each other, as they breathed out smoke, it seemed that both had developed the same virtues as well as vices.
He had told of how he had become apprenticed to the great Myakashi Migoya after the former had repaired his damaged body and returned him to this world, of how he had hunted men and become an Anbu of the Village hidden in the Leaves and of his eventual betrayal and flight from the gates.
