Kaori arrived at the sight of the blob and, in a word, freaked. With the shriek of banshee caught in a bear trap, she wailed on the slime creature that had been trying to be a nice little blob. Wood, metal and cleaning supplies went flying as her cart was smashed into tiny pieces with all the vehemence of a girl disgusted. Lucky for the little creature and it's brethren, it had no solid form that it could be destroyed by the force of her blow. It didn't stick around long enough for her to get inventive in its destruction, though, and for a second there was silence and time to breath air that had no godly right to be so awful. Their bodies clicked and snapped viciously, and it was only through her own sense of self preservation that Ritsuko avoided becoming a perch from the insectoids. Like any sane person, she made a bolt for the door and dragged her braver partner, rubber armoured comrade to safety with her.
The roaches had a sentient mind not unlike a tiger. The fleeing triggered it to think of them as prey. They formed together and burst after the poor girls, but were foiled by the constructive majesty that was the door, The cockroaches buzzed and swarmed angrily, pushing against the door that was slammed in their collective faces. There had been fresh, unrotted flesh for them to devour, and the loss of it drove them into a frenzy. The door rattled and shook as the swarm pushed hard against the old wood and tried to bore their way through. The barrier stood strong against insectoid force, however, giving Ritsuko and Kaori just enough time to formulate a plan. Fight, flee, or-....
