Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

"Woah!" was the only thing the boy managed to get out during the entirety of the mock battle. It escaped his lips just as he bent his right leg and one-foot hopped over Kiyo's sweeping attack at the last second, barely avoiding getting knocked on his behind. if it wasn't for his Sense pinging him the strike would've fully connected. He often left himself vulnerable when he attacked, one of the flaws of his completely improvised style of fighting. So it's a good thing that nifty ability popped up (seemingly...) out of nowhere years ago, huh? Once the white-haired girl finished her attack, she intelligently put some distance between herself and her opponent. Because he didn't want to interrupt the fight he hadn't been saying much, but Gō was watching her every move closely. He took note of her intuitive choice of tactics. Her spacing. Her form. All of it. And after observing this hasty sparring session, this surly old man had finally come to the conclusion that....

...he was impressed!

But he wouldn't get to express this to his new student because the battle suddenly took a turn. Her breathing had become heavier, this time for real. And when she went in to renew her assault on her sparring partner, she completely whiffed a punch. She was struggling. Taijutsu did put quite a bit of strain on the body. If you weren't in top form you could easily succumb to your own lack of stamina. And it seemed like that's what was happening now. When the girl went to backpedal her legs gave out and she collapsed onto the hard ground. A hint of worry flashed across her mentor's face, while Keiatsu stood there looking kind of stupefied. She had put up a good effort for her first lesson, but Kiyoko simply hadn't yet built up her reserves of energy. Even if you had all the strength in the world it didn't mean anything if you didn't have the vitality to utilize it. But still...she'd done more against a high-level opponent than almost anybody her age could say! It was a valiant effort. Her spirit and determination to not give in caused a warm smile to form on Keiatsu's face as he crouched down and, with an uncharacteristic gentleness, scooped the student up in his arms. Normally? The rose-haired boy was selfish. More often than not he was only concerned about his stomach. And he had a horrible habit of not paying attention to most things. But when it came to matters like this...his perceived stupidity took a backseat to his empathy. He could respect someone with a will to never quit, despite whatever their goals were. By the time he rose to his feet with Kiyoko in tow, his smile had become a fullblown grin. "That was a good fight." Hopefully his words penetrated the daze the girl was in...

But whether or not they did she would likely notice when they began to move. After a minute a wave of cool air would wash over Kiyoko, hopefully helping to cool her overheated body down a bit. It almost felt as if...they'd gone indoors? Next thing she knew she would be set down carefully on a firm surface, with an object that was somewhat soft being placed under her head seconds later. And then? Nothing. Well...almost nothing anyway. The soft hum of voices could be heard in the distance but other than that this place seemed relatively calm. It was much cooler in here than it was minutes ago. And more relaxing too! Kiyo would find it hard to ignore a certain scent that began to permeate the air. Something familiar. Something glorious. Grilled meat! If the white-haired girl found herself regaining her wits, she'd be aware that she was set down in some sort of booth, and that she was using Gō's tan jacket as a makeshift pillow. Her mentor and his grandson were conversing with a middle-aged man with a hairnet and an apron who appeared to be somewhat nervous as to what they were saying. After a few moments of talking the duo made their way back over towards the girl, taking seats in the booth facing opposite to her. Keiatsu looked excited (and MAY have been drooling a bit...) and Gō had a knowing smirk on his weathered face. If Kiyoko had visited the Academy before she might've been familiar with her surroundings. It was the place where all students came together to do the same thing regardless of skill or age. Where eating competitions were held by the Sunan youths and ninja food fights were a commonplace occurrence. It was none other than....

Kiyo's hazy mind was attempting to make sense of everything. She knew she wasn't unconscious yet, but she also knew she hadn't stood up. The movement that caused her hair to fall into her face made her a bit confused, though she eventually made send of the familiar rocking feeling. It was something she hadn't felt since her dad passed away. Her dad used to carry her to her bed when she would fall asleep on the couch waiting for him to get home. It felt somewhat nice to be carried again, though she soon remembered it couldn't possibly be her dad. He had been gone for two entire years. Sadly, Kiyo didn't have enough strength to fight against the person holding her.

When she was set down, she had to make sense of her surroundings once more. The air was cooler, but she wasn't moving anymore, so she had to be indoors. There was something soft beneath her head, but it didn't feel like a pillow, and she was sitting upright because she could feel the air on all parts of her torso and back. Everything was beginning to return to her control, albeit slower than she would hope for. Kiyoko finally caught the scent of something delicious in the air, and it awoke her feeling of hunger a bit more. She was able to crack her eyes open, moving one hand up to gently rub them. She let herself calm down a bit before she lifted her head, finding a tan jacket. So that was the "pillow" she had felt. She then looked up to find the two rose-headed males sitting across from her. She flushed slightly, everything beginning to make sense. She had collapsed, and one of them had carried her all the way here. But where was here, exactly? She took one look around and caught sight of many people - students, most of them appeared to be - eating in the large room. She let out a small sigh and returned her gaze to Gō, looking down in a bit of embarrassment.

"I'm sorry. I didn't expect to collapse like that." It hadn't been a practical decision to eat such a small breakfast that morning, especially when she knew how her own competitive personality would shine through the instant she learned something new. "Thank you for bringing me here, Gō-sensei and Keiatsu-san." She was beginning to resort to her safeguard, her respectful and somewhat shy persona taking over so that she could think a little more to herself. It was easier to make sense of things when she wasn't trying to carry on a conversation.

Gō raised an eyebrow as the girl began to stir. She had overworked herself and almost lost consciousness because of it. While most teachers might scold their student for being so reckless...he couldn't have been prouder! "Ah, you're awake..." he spoke, sliding a tall glass of water across the tabletop towards her. "Drink. You don't want to faint again." She wasn't exactly asleep to begin with but she had been out of it for the past couple of minutes. And if she wanted to stay in the world of the fully conscious, she was going to need to stay hydrated. The rose-haired duo both wore expressions of confusion as Kiyoko apologized for collapsing. It hadn't been a problem to either of them. It didn't cause any sort of dilemma...and Kiyo wasn't heavy at all so having to carry her here was absolutely no trouble at all. So, almost in unison, both of them responded...

"Don't worry."
"No problem!"

"Sofu" closed his eyes as Kiyo thanked them for bringing her here. His smirk remained as he flicked his grandson on the side of his head, causing it to bobble but otherwise not catching the boy's attention. "Keiatsu did the lifting...but you're not heavy anyways!" His grandson seemed infinitely less interested in the conversation than he was with something else, the likes of which had created a devilish gleam in his eye. What the old man said was true however. She was light...almost too much. Regardless of whether she was going to become a kunoichi or not, Kiyoko needed to take care of herself! Gō opened his eyes, his expression becoming serious as he placed an elbow on the table and extended his index finger. "Which brings us to the most important part of your training..." You mean...they weren't done?! From the grim expression on the elderly man's face, it would seem not. If all that fighting wasn't important what kind of hellish surprise was the girl in for? Fortunately she wouldn't have to wait too long, for the next segment of her practice was revealed...when a plate piled high with white rice was set down on the table by a nervous-looking cafeteria worker. What exactly was this so-called "most important part"?

"Eating!" Of course! It would become apparent why the man they spoke to earlier looked so apprehensive...this was a LOT of food. One-by-one, plate-by-plate and bowl-by-bowl, food was piled onto the table before the three patrons. "Thish ish reahry gouhd!" A certain younger rose-haired dolt stated with a mouth full of food. He didn't bother waiting for any invitations and proceeded to clean a plate of noodles in three seconds flat. All manner of food was brought before them. Meats, soups, rice, several types of noodles tossed in various sauces, stir-fried vegetables (which Keiatsu made sure to shoot a quick scowl at...). It wasn't exactly top quality because it was cafeteria food...but for a hungry student? It would do just fine! Kiyo might've been a little thrown by the revelation, but despite the old man's smile, he was 100% serious. "You need to take care of your body." he spoke, nodding a few times for emphasis. It was true. The body needed nutrients for repairs, and energy to sustain itself. You could practice punching day-in and day-out, but if you weren't eating properly your growth would be severely limited. "Can't grow big and strong if you don't eat enough." Eating big meals high in calories was essential for a shinobi, especially after a particularly tough mission or training session! So without further ado, Gō grabbed a shank of meat and tore into it, hoping his new student would follow their example. "Dig in, Kiyo!" This would be the temporary sensei's final instruction, delivered between bites of delicious meat. And he finally got her name right! Keiatsu on the other hand was already well into his third helping by now. and showed no signs of stopping anytime soon. If Kiyo wanted to get stronger, grow taller, and build vital muscle...she was going to have to learn how to eat like a champion!

Kiyoko gladly took the offered glass of water, drinking up thirstily as she finished the glass off quickly. She continued to get more refills on the water as well, and she felt a bit self-conscious over the elder man's comment on her weight. She knew she was small. It was simply difficult for her to want to eat a lot. But when she heard Gō's claim of an important part of training, she grew a little nervous. It was pretty obvious that she was I no good physical shape now, but she guessed a little physical training wouldn't hurt to boost her muscle and stamina. But when a large plate of rice was set before her, her eyes widened just slightly. Eating? That was the most important part of her training?

But as he explained the reason behind his statement, she couldn't fight the small smile that graced her lips. He was right. If she was going to get Keiatsu to eat so that he could battle her at his best, then she needed to do the same to be a worthy opponent the next time they would fight. "You're strange, Gō-sensei," she commented lightly, picking up her utensils to eat along with them. "But I like it." Within the few moments of being with the two pink-haired individuals, she had grown to like them a lot. Gō was a bit rough around the edges, but he was a good and caring teacher. Keiatsu was a bit on the duller side, but his fighting and determination (when he wasn't hungry) were far beyond what Kiyo could even hope for.

She ate herself a good meal, probably the most she had eaten in two years at one sitting. It made her feel oddly happy, and being with two interesting characters made it all the more enjoyable. Even though she was still the slightly shy girl she was, she was beginning to think she could easily open up around these two. Kiyo was glad she had gotten Gō as her temporary teacher. Hopefully she would be able to be taught by him again. After all, he would always be her first teacher. Even as she was to return to the Academy to attend a true class, she would never forget the good amount she had learned from this lesson.

[OOC: Leaving topic? I mean, I'm fine with stopping at thus point, but if you want to keep going, just let me know! I don't really need to open this slot, so that isn't an issue for me.]

"Hahahaha!~" A hearty laugh was the old man's only response to Kiyoko. It was true what the girl said about him being strange. If there was a gene for normalcy, it was all but extinct in their family. His teachings were a bit unorthodox by normal standards...but perhaps that's what made them so effective? Everyone he'd personally trained had gone on to become immensely powerful in their own right. Yama --his son and one of his former "students"-- had even gone as far as to adopt his very same style of training. Keiatsu was put through hell by his grandpa AND Yama as a child in order to become stronger. And Gō's other son...well...there wasn't enough time in a day to explain what'd he'd been doing. So instead the old man continued to grin as he tossed a newly cleaned bone aside and picked up another plate piled high with meat and rice. "I'll take the compliment." And with that? They all continued to feast, Kiyoko even managing to put up a valiant effort against the voracious rosehead duo. It might've just been cafeteria food...but damn if it didn't taste good!

After they'd eaten Keiatsu rose to his feet, patting his exposed belly while wearing a satisfied smile on his face. "I'm stuffed!" he thought aloud to himself before a large hand came crashing down on top his head, gripping the top of his cranium tightly. "That's because you ate half of the food..." It was true! Large appetites ran in the family but Gō had yet to find someone who could eat as much as his grandson. And when the boy said he was "stuffed", he meant it literally. His entire body looked bloated...his way of stockpiling calories before his supercharged metabolism converted them into energy I suppose. Despite the pained look on the boy's face due to his grandfather's vice-like grip on his head, he still managed half a smile as he stared at his former sparring partner. "I had fun, Koyo." Among other things, the boy also received Gō's penchant for misnaming people. "Sofu" softened his grip at this sight, along with his annoyed facial expression as he watched the interaction between his students. A big grin took hold on Keiatsu's face, the hand he wasn't rubbing his engorged stomach with coming up to shoot the girl a thumbs-up. "We should fight again someday!" Kiyo had the potential to be a great fighter. And maybe one day she'd be able to test her improved skills against the boy, in an all-out match. Something to look forward to I suppose...

Gō's hand came down on Kiyo's head, this time in a more compassionate manner to muss her hair as he grinned at his student and said, "Remember your training." He moved to retrieve his coat and drape it once more across his broad shoulders. There were only a few more words of uh..."wisdom" he could pass on to Kiyoko before taking his leave. "Fight hard..." the elderly man began before turning to follow his grandson who had already started his march out of the building. The kanji "悪" emblazoned on the back of his jacket was clearly visible as he walked. "...and eat harder!" And as quickly and oddly as he had come, the man was gone...without paying for all of that food or damage to the facility. Mentor or menace? "Sofu" or "Majin"?

Sunagakure may never know...
