Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Kenshin had a day off from the Academy. Honestly, Kenshin was finally used to the village in the short amount of time he had been here. Normally, he would have checked in earlier but with the war going on and then classes being taught, Kensshin decided they things needed to be done instead of talked about. And so he did. He trained and found a new pack of his own to join. Kenshin was still in peak physical condition. Training the next generation has its perks in keeping him active and his mind sharp. Tricky students required supervision to keen he might as well be a member of the ANBU corps. Still, Kenshin served to the best of his ability.

It was different today. He was doing what he could but it had been too long. What had he been afraid of? There were plenty of former Stone in the village. He was not alone and occasionally would talk to them about old home. However, Kenshin was getting use to the new climate faster than most and Kenshin was forming new bonds. He wondered what he could do now that could better help Leaf.

Kenshin would find himself on this spring day at the Hokage's mansion and he would request a meeting with the higher up in the Main Branch. His short grey hair would reflect some sunlight but not as much as the golden hoops in his ear. Wearing a simple black shinobi attire, vest in place, Kenshin waited in a waiting room to speak with those in charge.

NPC: The Manager
If he was waiting for Yume--or rather, Kiseki--to emerge from behind the doors, he'd probably be disappointed if he found out she wasn't there at all. Instead, the public image of this mysterious sennin was out at a promotional event. That was usually the case. Very rarely does Yume show up herself in the office. And even if she did, people would only see her in the disguise that she chose specifically for "Kiseki." Office life was just not her style and terribly unfeasible for her current lifestyle too.

Instead, for two times a day every morning and afternoon, someone came by the office to pick up the paperwork piling on her desk. He had dyed his hair back to a natural colour recently, and changed his glasses frames, but that didn't stop Yume's manager from striding past Kenshin into the Magistrate of Management's office and picking up this morning's notices and papers. He stepped back out as quick as he arrived, stopping only one step past Kenshin. The manager paused, turning back to look at the grey haired man though his glasses.

"Can I assist you with something?" he asked, properly and politely. Jun thought that it would be highly unlikely that this person would recognise him as Yume's manager, so stopping to provide assistance shouldn't hurt at all.

Kenshin waited for a short time becuase a man appeared and seemed to go about as he owned the place or was comfortable being here. Only after he had gone in and picked up some papers, returning the way he came, did he ask Kenshin a question.

Kenshin stood to his full 5'8" and bowed slightly

"Yuu Kenshin. Jounin of Leaf transfer from Stone. I am wanting to know if the Sennin is around. Would you happen to know where she is at? I believe the name is Kiseki. I have been busy as of late and not kept with paperwork as I should. Paperwork that was not exam grading at the Academy that is." Kenshin would smile a little but the brown eyes were still serious."Any help would be appreciated."

WOuld this person know? Possibly since he seemed to know his way around. This was one of the few times he had ever been in this building and sometimes still got lost.

The manager tucked the papers neatly under his arm and fully turned his body to face Kenshin properly. After readjusting his glasses on his face, he reached into his pocket to procure a black planner book and a pen. He had yet to flip it open.

"She is currently out on business related matters. May I ask what this meeting would be in regards to? If it is related to the main branch, then I'd suggest speaking with the Head Jounin. Otherwise, I can assist or pass on a message."

This was not in his job description last he remembered. Primarily, he was the manager of U<3ME, the big star of FiRE E&M. Additionally, he was also once (and still) subservient to the Yamaguchi family--Yume's immediate family in particular. Though her parents had disappeared on their own volition in god knows where, had her, then left her mysteriously on the doorstep of the scratched out name of the Yamaguchi estate, he was a good loyal dog. The rest of the family was chaos.

Her sudden appearance those number of years ago gave him hope. She had already reached Sennin level at this age, so he will take on this extra role in order for things to be back where they were.

Jun should have no trouble with whatever question Kenshin had. After all, he was now the Magistrate of Management's envoy. His word was just as reliable, if not more, as Yume's. To be honest, his word would probably be more reliable, if one really knew what kind of person the Sennin was.

Kenshin frowned at the news. Last he heard, the Hokage was not in Leaf at the moment and now the Sennin was out on business? Who was left in the village if an emergency happened? There was the council of course but without the head of at least one section of the ninjas represented who knows hat would be passed. Kenshin imagined there were some ANBU around at the very least. Still, it was not the best situation. Years of military training kicked in and he began coming up with contingency plans if the worst should happen.

"This meeting would make my transfer complete. Also, I wish to get some orders. I haven't been briefed on current situations and figured that the Sennin would be a place to start. I have not been to see the Head Jounin. I would like to be prepared if the worst should happen or if we were attacked." Kenshin would explain still frowning.

Ah...

He peered at the now frowning face, unsurprised of that outcome. Of course, if one wanted to see someone, they would expect that person and not a representative. If Jun could hear his thoughts, he'd be nice enough to reassure the man that the Sennin wasn't out of the village--just out of office, like she always was.

A polite smile slipped across the manager's face as he made his way back into the office. "I see. In that case, come through with me to the office," he said, as if he were Sennin himself. Wouldn't be too far from the truth with the work he was doing. Dude can't be human if they knew.

"Have a seat." He gestured to the chair directly in front of the Sennin's desk. "Pass me your shinobi identification card as well. Which main branch division are you in?"

Jun weaved around the desk and pulled out one of the drawers, flipping through the files crammed into the compartment. Once finding what he was looking for, he took a seat himself in the chair--the chair where the Sennin should be sitting.

"Here is the application form for naturalisation into Leaf. This is what you are applying for, correct? Fill this out please." He slid a form three pages long towards the jounin, and took the ID if given to check. In the meantime, since that form would take a little bit of time to fill out, Jun obliged him with the current events of Leaf.

"Establishing trading routes between Leaf and Cloud are being attempted at the moment, as far as I am aware. There is also a request from Sand for Kiseki-sama's presence and a representative of from the medical branch for a discussion for education exchanges sometime soon. We're in the process of recruiting shinobi escorts for when the time comes to travel to Sand."

His eyes gazed passively at the motion of handwriting, silently urging for Kenshin to hurry. He tried his best not to look at his watch, but he was quite sure that he will run late to the next promotional with Yume. "I don't believe we have any tensions with the other countries at the moment, provided nothing drastic happens with or to the Hokage in Cloud."

Kenshin still frowned but followed the mane into the office. So this was not the Sennin but was acting like it? He obviously knew his way around and the papers he gave were official or at least official looking.

Stranger and stranger.

"Here is my information and I am of the Instructor division." Kenshin would say shortly handing over information as well s his work history from Stone which mostly was a teaching load. There were several missions as well including one that was moved from a C rank to an S rank for some reason.

He wold take to the application quickly and deftly. In no time it was filled out. All the while he was listening. So the Hokage was in Cloud and the Sennin was going to Sand. That is why she was not there. Made sense. Still ,that left a power vacuum. A coup could easily start and who would stop it? They had just finished a war and another one could be likely. "War comes in pairs" was one of the sayings he was forced to learn growing up. It usually meant that a war would always lead to either another war foreign or domestic and thus the cycle always continued.

"Then it is good I am here to make sure things stay peaceful. I would be willing to join the expedition to Sand but worry about leaving behind students and lower ranks to defend the village. If Kiseki-san needs a guard for her trip, I would be willing but if she wants me to stay here to defend that is acceptable too. There are risks to both.By the way, I have yet to hear your name." Kenshin would say and ask not unkindly. He was being caught up and it was at least good to know he was in the loop.

He took the paper back and began filling in the section for office use only. The only thing he left blank was the Sennin's stamp. This can be passed onto Yume later. The manager put that along with the pile of other papers he already had, adding just one more job onto Yume's head than before for today.

"My name? It's Watanabe, an unimportant name. Well, it's good to see you're dedicated. We'll contact you if it is necessary. Though you said you are in the Instructor division?"

He did recall Yume saying that there were a lot less students when she taught a class. Granted it was full house, but the majority of those students were civilians looking to see her in the flesh. There were only a handful of registered shinobi students then.

"What are your personal thoughts of recent Academy enrolments?" he asked with a smile. "Are you confident in Leaf's military strength for the future?"

Kenshin lightened up a little once everything official was out of the way but still, it was a sour question that made the frown return.

"There are definitely less students than I was expecting. The war must have scared some people. Not as many people trust us because they accept foreign shinobi like myself to fight. Still, I teach the classes and try to unify the Stone ninja with the Leaf where I can. As far as military strength form what I have seen we need more. If a handful of powerful shinobi attacked us, I am not sure if we could defend against them. I know i could take on 1 or 2 Jounin level shinobi but any more and I would be pushed to my limit. This is why I was worried about the Hokage not being here and the Sennin seemingly wanting to go to Sand it seems. If the foes were strong enough to keep me occupied they might run havoc on the city. I am unaware of what strength our ANBUs have but I know there are only a handful of main branch shinobi and even fewer medical ninja. I don't like it and that is why I am trying to get back into the loop of things and teach. We need these students up to fighting strength sooner rather than later. There are talks of peace now but as my third aunt says. "Politics are as predictable as the weather." One false move and we are vulnerable. And this speaks nothing of the rogue shinobi. In short, I don't like our odds or position. Not enough to attack or defend at once even if the "attack" is a diplomatic mission."

Kenshin would pause and then be silent, after giving his honest opinions on things.

"Not to worry, she won't be leaving until the Hokage returns."

Kenshin's answer was in line with Yume's thoughts, Jun noted. He wasn't exactly sure why the idol even cared about the military with that offhanded comment, upon thinking about it a little bit harder. Just perhaps, her words may not have been exactly hers. Had the family already start pushing their agenda onto her already?

There was no way to say. He was more of a servant to Kami's family, not the Yamaguchi.

"Thank you for your thoughts," he said finally. "I will bring this up to the Sennin. Please continue on mentoring the current students we have while the council deliberates on what to do. Hopefully it doesn't end up with asking for favours with our allied nations."

He smiled at him at the end, as if it was a good joke, though the delivery was entirely flat. Jun neatly gathered his papers together, more than ready to leave and rush to his next appointment. However, personable interaction is a must, as well as good service. "Are there any other questions you'd like to ask?"

If there were none, he would escort the jounin to the door and bid him a proper farewell. If there was another question, he'd still be standing, though his feet would yet to move.
