Saemon had put this off too long already. Three days and no word to Kitanai. His heart ached now for her in a way he had been blind to a few days prior. At the time all he could see was Koho's back.. how he'd hurt his red queen. He had been concerned enough to be sure Kitanai hadn't been harmed while chasing the crimson haired woman, but he hadn't stopped to see about her heart.
The tall, mountain of a man felt as a tall as a flat field as he crossed over the streets. He knew where he was going and the land passed under his feet much faster than he'd anticipated. He was before her house, waiting on the doorstep, unable to lift a hand and knock on the faded wood. He could hear his heartbeat in his ears and he tried to swallow it back down. It would not go.
