Collective Biography of Ishikawa Zaku
[spoilername="Pre-Acedmy"]Ishikawa Zaku had what most children dream of in a childhood: Loving parents that were always there for him and an older sister who loved him despite all the times they fought. But what did he do with this gift from the gods above; this gift of family that would never abandon him? As he grew up and developed, he subconsciously realized this and began to take advantage of their kindness. He betrayed their trust in ways more than one could count, but, they always came to place trust in him once again. Later in his life, he would find the answer to a question he asks himself. “Why didn’t they give up on me?”
It was mostly in primary school that these moments of betrayal and distrust happened. But there were a few times when he would be influenced by his friends even though he knew what he was doing was wrong. Zaku continued to shake his parent’s confidence in him, even though they gave him everything he ever needed. One day, his father had had enough of watching his wife cry over the countless lies she was told by their son. He announced that he would be putting the boy in for apprentice duty at the shop he worked at. While Zaku thought this would be an escape from school, the work turned out to be worse than he predicted and in turn, the boy desperately tried to find a way out of it. This is where the academy came into play.
Zaku went to the Ninja Academy on his own free will to enlist into and to learn what he needed to. But of course, this attitude didn’t last very long at all. The fool was back to his old ways of deceit and chronic lying when his parents had finally begun to believe he could change. One year later, he learned nothing and had failed horribly in the graduation exam. As his cheeks burned in the silent rage toward himself, and embarrassment as his mom just looked away in disappointment, Zaku decided that things needed to change. This time, he wasn’t going to let his parents trust go to waste once again. It was time to honor them through his actions and show the world that they had produced a real man, not just some lazy fool.
While he began his second year in the academy, his sister went on to make their parents proud with her accomplishments. But it never seemed to gain their attention away from Zaku’s faults. He’d always wonder if his sister really did love him…or did she hate him for causing his mother heartache. Things were going to change this time…[/spoilername]
[spoilername="Kinjutsu Background"]Before Zaku's family arrived in Kumogakure, while he was still just an infant, they lived in a small port town in southern lightning country. About six months before the patriarch of Ishikawa arrived to invite them back home, their town was targeted by a kumo missing nin with one mission in mind: cause so much damage that people would lose faith in the village hidden in the cloud. He often used guerrilla tactics to achieve his goals, targeting government buildings and then disappearing. People would often contract the village to investigate but by the time messengers had arrived, he was long gone and in hiding.
Back on topic though; this one particular night, the mentioned rogue had something special in mind to get some attention. Somehow, he had gotten in contact with the demon realm and, in exchange for his soul in death, he would receive assistance from a powerful Djinn. Together, the pair set out to terrorize the town and bring it to utter ruin. What they didn't count on was a masked vigilante, a master of metal jutsu in fact, being in that very town. As they began their assault the man with a black and red mask stepped forward to combat them and protect this small town that he seemed to have no connection to. The fight lasted hours until the masked hero trapped the rogue shinobi in an iron suit that restricted all movement. With only the demon left, he delved into his knowledge of seals and tried to come up with what he needed to complete sealing jutsu.
Using a clone, the vigilante retrieved Zaku from his home where his family was hiding. He needed a vessel...one that wouldn’t protest and he could keep an eye on in the future. So after completing the sealing ritual, the masked man disappeared, leaving the rogue ninja for kumogakure to pick up. No one from the town figured out who he was, nor could Zaku's family explain the strange markings on the young boy's back. It is still a mystery to this day.[/spoilername]
