Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Standing well within the supposed not safe zone of the Dreamwork Plains, Umashi glanced both to his right and to his left, noting the relatively small batch of forces that he had with him. Though they were hidden in the trees, he knew that the enemy knew that they were here. It was only a matter of time in before they had tracked down the Daimyo to his home camp at the base of the great tree. Looking almost fake in a sense, the looming structure was like a tower that never ended, and the clear moonlit evening that they seemingly were under didn’t help with the situation either. Full and crimson red like the eyes of an Uchiha, Umashi didn’t like the feeling that he was currently experiencing under the moon. For one it had been about mid-day when they entered the forest and even with being an hour or two into the operation, the time of day was clearly not what it should have been.

That along with the relative sleepiness that no doubt all of his team was feeling gave full credit to the intel that they had managed to obtain about the area. Put simply, Umashi had advised those who were with him to trust relatively little about the forest that they were in and indeed, everyone had been inscribed with a specific chakra marker by Umashi as well as given a pass-phrase to prove their loyalty to make sure that they could prove who was who if things got tough. Other than that, special black op’s status was applied to everyone. No speaking of the mission, no kissing loved ones goodbye, no giving any indication that they would not be at their assigned post the next day.Even Umashi had a double back at the office and should that double be found out, the given excuse would be fatigue for Umashi. Keeping this mission a secret from the village council was the harder part however. They simply did not trust the intel enough to make the final push to corner the Daimyo and force him to surrender for his crimes. Taking matters into his own hands, Umashi had simply conceded to their wishes publically, but privately he set about the dark road of undermining their trust in him. They were scared, that much was true, but Umashi wouldn’t allow their relative lack of backbone keep him from fulfilling his promise to protect the people. Of those present, there were those that who were seasoned veterans and those that were on a mission quite literally outside of their league.

Holding up a signal to initiate their offensive, Umashi held a signal of his middle and index finger up followed by a fist. They were to hold as he waited for the signal from his Alpha Strike team that they had reached their own secret agenda but the signal never came. Squatting on his perch for an uncomfortable amount of seconds that seemed to stretch on for hours but only truly were minutes, no doubt the rest of the Beta team waited for their leader to give some sort of signal but instead everyone was forced to wait with bated breathe. One or another might have wondered if their so called Hokage had gotten cold feet but they would probably be focusing on the wrong type of fear. Umashi had definitely not gained cold feet but what he was worried about was the lack of timed rendezvous with the Alpha team. Had they been compromised? The question popped into his head but he quickly dismissed it. They were some of the best, and the only way they were going to be compromised is if they were completely made permanently incapacitated. As if on command with his very thoughts, there was an explosion high above them at the near cloud point of the tree. Something had indeed gone wrong with the first offensive mission but Umashi didn’t have time to regroup and counter with new intel. With a need to press on now, Umashi gave the signal to press on forward to whatever surprise that the Daimyo had for them.

OOC: Time of day is unnatural midnight with a full crimson red moon. The scene thus far is a dense forest and it would be common knowledge among those in the mission that Umashi was waiting for intel from an Alpha Strike team but it would not be known who was on that team or what exactly their mission was. If there are any questions, please PM me. I plan on posting again on Thursday/Friday.

The Faceless is a religious cult that worship a deity to which they refer to as the many-faced god. According to their beliefs it is he who taught the founder of the clan the true art of transformation. The Faceless freely sacrifice their former identities so that they may view the world through many perspectives. Many outside the clan view them as a clan of eccentric actors. Often training in the Faceless consists of the game of faces. A Faceless must be able to take a role without the personality of their true self bleed through. Breaking character means getting hit with the spear. Needless to say that there are those who do not survive pass the initiate stage. In missions she is often require to change forms in order to better adapt herself to the situation. Each form is a weapon and has its own unique set of skills that might become handy. She takes several rolls of bandage and covers her entire body. She then wears a blue hooded robe and a kitsune mask. The mask was of custom design for it had a built in voice modulator. The mask also had special glass over the eye holes. The glass would allow her to see, but anyone looking into them would only see their own reflection. On the forehead of the mask was the emblem of the faceless clan. One might think she was an anbu in this get up, but she did not care.

Nor did her sensei, the one teaching her the arts of the faceless. He uses his talents in the art of transformation to become a clone of Hakuren. The two masked shinobi would leave the village on a mission of utmost secrecy. This area they were heading in was an unusual one for it seems to have a somber effect on them. Hakuren looks at the moon as they make their way through the area, “Strange I don’t recall a blood moon for today’s night sky.” Hakuren comes from a village of spell casters who uses magic in everyday life. Astrology was a big influence on their magic. The two faceless as they watch the Kage as they hold to see if the alpha team would show up. The Alpha team did not and with an explosion from above they were ordered to charge forward.

Standing in front of the mirror in his small one room apartment Shinobu shadow boxed with his image. woosh woosh, His fists burst through the air toward the mirror with force and enthusiasm. "Good, good, focus, keep your eyes on the prize. Special black ops mission time, now you can show your comrades the dedication and faith you have in the village!" With bubbling excitement he tied his Leaf Forehead protector on to hold back his messy tangle of unwashed hair, he then briefly tried to brush out his scraggly beard with his fingers but gave up shortly after. Taking to the streets he began his morning jog like he did every day. Approaching the Phoenix Gates he just waved at the guards as he passed, they were used to him going our for exercise or morning training sessions. "Heh, got out of the city with no suspicion, this secret mission stuff is easy. I should sign up for these more often."

Leaping through the forest he headed to the designated meeting spot, mind body and soul ready for action. At least he thought they were until he burst through the sunlit woods into full blown nighttime blanketed in the ominous blood red moonlight, he stopped for a moment and looked upon the giant genjutsu tree that stabbed up from the landscape like a wickedly curved dagger. "Oh wow, that looks scary!" Shaking the momentary lapse of courage off he hurtled himself deeper into the nightmare, toward his allies. As he broke cover and approached the small group he called out with his pass phrase and ops ID. "Vincit qui se vincit, ID X-ray, X-ray, Zero, Zero, Charlie, Charlie" Nodding to the leadership he took position waiting with the others.

Looking around he was able to read the chakra signatures of his comrades and approached a pair of people in kitsune masks. "Hey Ino-san, what do you think about these stars? Are they the stars we would see during the day if the sun wasn't so bright or are they just part of the illusion? Hey by the way nice mask, was I supposed to wear a mask to this thing? I don't think I got that memo." leaning in toward the shinobi he knew as Ino, Shinobu gave a loud whisper as he jerked his thumb to the other shinobi dressed just like her. "You pull off the outfit way better then they do" Smiling to himself briefly he gave a joking shoulder punch to Ino and then took a more serious tone. "I was kinda bummed to find out I was on the Beta Team, I really wanted to be part of the Alpha team..." suddenly the explosion burst overhead at the top of the genjutsu tree, "Nevermind, beta team is lookin really good right now." Shinobu stood at Umashai's signal and put his senses on edge looking for any kind of trap while moving with his allies.

Oyochi had been silent for some time, choosing to remain squatting somewhere near Umashi's location though with his back pressed against a tree trunk. He was not within the foliage of the trees like some possibly were, because being on the ground itself gave him more benefits than natural comfort. Time was something he had lost given the silence and sheer darkness of the area, though said silence did not last long before his ears caught wind of reckless banter. Although it was low, the fact that he could hear it displeased Oyochi given the nature of the mission they were on. Adjusting his gaze towards Umashi location, before glaring towards Shinobi with his hands tapping along his right ear followed by a single finger against his mouth. The signal was simple, listen and not speak.

He was slightly taken back by the overall lack of situational awareness shown but relegated that to something that they would have to remedy at a later date. Deciding to place a small soldier pill between his teeth, Oyochi bit down on the item in order to gain some energy for his body. The last thing he wanted was to proceed any further without taking advantage of the quiet lull. It could be said he was equally worried mainly because of the unknown which lay ahead and the fact that outside of Tamashii and Umashi, he had no inkling of a clue in regards to the other's overall abilities. Finding his cousin's location, there would be an offered nod in Tamashii's location while he made sure his gear was all accounted for. It was when he was tightening his forehead protector did the explosion echo out into the night and Umashi signaled the start of the operation. He'd move forward under the Hokage's order but made sure to stick to the shadowed side of the trees. With everyone pressing towards the goal as a group the last thing they needed was to fall victim to any unfortunate occurrence as a bunched up unit.

Crouched. Poised. Positioned. And Ready. The silence in the night seemed to cloud the thoughts of Tama, as he seemed to be running on muscle memory at this point. He knew what he was doing was the right thing to do but all in all he didnt care about anything other than the completion of this mission. Failure, of course was not an option. However, Victory with small casualties seemed to be the prime objective, but within situations like this, it was not plausible. 'Dont die. And Minimize casualties. Got it.' Tamashii thought over and over in his head and things would eclipse even more. This damned forest, there was something that knocked him off his game... but he was completely ready for this. Physically... Mentally however, this was farthest from the truth. As a Yukata, he was used to this. The Darkness. Voicing no concern, but being the the catalyst to ending this war. As his Cousin would do before him... His father and mother as well... He would do as well. Following in the footsteps of his family. Finally able to pursue this thought... This ability deep within.

If Oyochi noticed, Tamashii's inscriptions were removed. . . And his hands would glow this eerie light. This was the moment... He would show the true might of the Yukata Clan. Though given the time, he'd have to bide it for the true command of the Hokage, Umashi. The leaves seemed to rustle in the lowly wind... and the blood moon above would seemingly not phase the Yukata branch family member. It seemed to make some of those around him waver... Shinobu, Ino, Umashi and the others all awaiting.

'Its time.', out from his coat. . . spiders would fall. . . prepping their position as Tama would smile. Soon, the mission would be done. And Soon... They would be able to call their names to be triumphant. As The Flames of Will would destroy all those who tried to douse it out. For this was a flame that could not be smothered nor flushed. The only way to kill this Will... was to kill the Fire that burned deep inside for years before... this Fire that would forever burn. Catching the gaze of Oyochi, Tamashii would nod, having small silk webs that trailed under him about three feet in length ready for this summoning of the the Man who helped his journey into the world of arachnids. It was time... his meticulous nature would seemingly drive him to have a step above the norm. Only time would tell though, but he was prepared.

'Time to end this' Kenshin said as he finished his 100th crunch. He jumped up and dressed. Nothing fancy for this mission. Simple shinobi grade gear. He even kept in his golden earrings and bars to maintain normacly to others. His family's heirlooms, his Titan Knuckles were on his fists as ever. It was time to move out and locate the meeting place. Beta team was better than no team. Seeing as he lived alone and had no family in Leaf, no need to hide goodbyes. As he approached the gate, he waved and said he was off to train. This was believable enough before they saw him train everyday by doing anything he could. They were kind enough to count the number of laps he did one day around the outskirts of the village. It was easy to leave.

After a respectful distacne away, Kenshin would trade place with a clone and hide in the darkness. He would make his way to the spot. There were already others there.
Yuu Kenshin reporting. Vincit qui se vincit. Yankee, Yankee, Zero, Zero Brave, Bravehe would say quietly beneath the blood red moon. This unnatual sleepiness was something to be feared. It felt like a genjutsu he knew but on a much grander scale. He was no Uchiha.

There were others there. Five others beside the Hokage. Hopefully he wasn't last. It was so quiet that it seemed like everything was asleep besides the chatter of some of his allies. After doing some neck popping and some arm movements, there was an explosion and a charge to attack. Kenshin looked at his quarry. His fists clenched and tiny little crystals could be seen outlining his Titian Knuckles. It was time to make a name for himself or to fall to the chaos. Either way, Kenshin began to move willing any foes he might face to fall victim to his kinetic based genjutsu. He would keep his distance from his allies but close enough to flag them down if need be.

Etsuko arrived for the mission, what seems to be the last one there. She wasn't really late, She just didn't show up early. This was her first official mission for the village, was she excited? Not really, she'd prefer to be in bed, or reading. She took nod this mission mostly to make her Mark, and to show how skilled she was medically. It'd be a bonus if if the mission was a success and they offed with the dreaded damiyo. Which was the goal, she was one of the few medics that would be onboard, so She didn't plan on dying, or stepping to the front of the battle. Medics always stayed in the back to support the fallen, only taking on the brunt of the battle when absolutely necessary.

Etsuko was up in the trees, she observed the others, she had yet to meet most of these shining, if she survived, then she'd have time to talk to them in the after party. For now, She needed to focus, She was already planning ahead. What jutsu to prepare, and what could they possibly be facing. She never set off to be the serious type, but when lives were on the line, she was focused, and determined. She didn't like failure, and she didn't give up easily. She was here to make sure most, if not all this team made it out alive.

So she observe the others, it seemed most personality traits were here. The obnoutious one, serious do getters, leader, prideful, and a few others mixed in. It seemed like the Hokage took what he could get for the b team. She didn't doubt they were skilled though, obviously not as skilled a the a team. Which she was glad She was not on.

Etsuko was ready though, thank God she had a nara brain, since it was easy for her to stay focused. This forest was obviously toxic to the mind, it was unnatural. Everything here was unnatural. Fucking ninja shit that's what it was. Days like this made her wish that she only went into medicine, and not become a ninja doctor. Then again, chakra and all that have always played to her interest.

After etsuko was done seeing who was here, she looked to their leader, and waited for the signal. It would be several minutes before the a teams explosion went off, signaling that something went wrong. Instead of regrouping, their leader sent the signal to charge. She wasn't sure how she felt about that, but it was too late to turn back.

Etsuko followed in the back, not because it was safer, so she could quickly treat anyone who falls. Though it was also possible for the enemy to ambush from behind as well, which would not be good. She was ready for it though, at least she was confident that she was ready for this.

~Earlier: Alpha Team~

Crouched behind a pillar, Neito was more and more starting to regret actually having accepted this mission from Umashi. Peeking around the pillar, he again familiarized himself with what he saw. A number of meters before him were four very ornamental large caskets that were connected to strange looking machines that had far too many scientist looking persons buzzing about them. Taking in the details this time, he noticed like a pair, two of each of the caskets were connected and one set clearly had the old word for “mother” over the top of it, while the other had “father” written above it. It was a strange sight to behold but as tight as security was here, he didn’t know just how long he could stay where he was.

Using his Byakugan he was able to make out that the caskets had sliding windows where the faces ought to have been and as if reading his mind, one scientist slid the viewing window open and Neito was able to spy a peculiar looking woman that he wasn’t familiar with floating in a slightly blue tinted fluid. She didn’t look like any of the other generals that the Daimyo was known for and as the window of the casket was slid back closed after hushed whispers, Neito committed the woman’s face to memory as he slid back around the pillar and focused on how to get in closer for a look. What he couldn’t stop in that moment was his mind racing as to who this young looking “mother” was and just who the “father” would be. His mind piecing together a perfect picture of all the intel that he had gathered, he was quite ready to get back to the main offense and join Umashi at the front lines when suddenly alarms started going off and Neito was forced to peek out from his position.

A large cloud of steam and visible chakra seemed to be emanating from one of the “father” caskets and before the scientist could figure out what was going on, there seemed to be a surge of energy as the front of the casket blew clear off and a being cloaked with flames stepped out of the container. His eye’s wide with amazement, Neito definitely didn’t expect this sort of thing from the Daimyo. For a man so bent on keeping traditions this looked to be the sort of thing straight out of science fiction. The creature giving a terrible roar, Neito grimaced and put his hands to his ears as he tried to block out the dizzying effect of its battle cry. Thrashing and letting loose wave after wave of chakra, the creature bolted from the scene and jumped straight through the wall into the darkness of the artificial night beyond. Gathering his wits, Neito stood up and started to make his own exit to report on what he had seen when suddenly the commotion was no longer enough to hold everyone’s attention. It was only by the grace of his sharingan that he managed to dodge the nearly invisible arrow that pierced the pillar right where his head had been. Rolling to his feet, he stood and faced his attacker head on as he launched into full attack mode.

~Present moment: Beta Team~

Running and jumping through the night forest, Umashi stayed focus on moving ahead to the next objective point. If they could reach the Daimyo’s camp then they could try to salvage what was left of their plan since no doubt everyone in the Daiymo’s camp would be more concerned with the explosion above. Seeing a clearing up above, Umashi say the chakra strings a little too late to avoid them. His body twisting to at least try and keep from doing too much damage to himself, he mouthed the words right as he felt the single notably off sounding pluck similar to a wrongly strung stringed instrument as he crackled over the Beta groups’ headsets. “It’s a trap!” Not being able to tell if it was the weight of his body or some other force pulling him towards the center of the clearing, he wasn’t at all surprised to see what appeared to be a legion of puppets being summoned via trap activation around him.

Without so much as a single though, a wall of sand rose up around him in the precious seconds before the onslaught of an uncountable amount of senbon launchers started to fire at him. With only the sound of the “thumps” to tell him what was going on outside, the protective sands absorbed as much as they could. Realizing that his passive shield would not hold for long, he cycled through the channels of his headset and activated his own trap.
“Gamma Squad has the green light.” Some leaders might call Umashi reckless, and that he most indeed was, but what one also had to respect about him was the beauty in the chaos that he wrought. Indeed, that was his plan, sow seeds of chaos and fish the Daimyo out. The explosion that he could only assume had to deal with the Alpha squad was a setback, true but if his intel was true, there were only so many safe routes out of the forest surrounding the Dream Work plains and the Daimyos camp was in the middle of that route.

Sneaking up on the Daimyo was an impossibility that Umashi had calculated was in their best interest to try for but not expect. Various teams around various points of the forest would herd the Daimyo’s forces to one point and prepare a gauntlet like choking point. Hearing the roar of the man that he knew as the “Hulk”, he smiled as the senbon attack on his location gave way to the terrified screams of the now, no doubt exposed enemy puppeteers. Opting not to wait for the all clear, he threw even more caution to the wind and absorbed the protective sands around him close to his body like a second set of skin and was greeted with the sight of his Beta and Gamma teams going head to head with what should have been the embattled Daimyo loyal puppeteers kill box. Leading the charge like a champ was the mean-green-fighting-machine dubbed the “Hulk”. Standing at the height of easily two grown men and body ripped with muscle despite not lacking in speed, the abomination of a man smashed everything in his path, and somewhat alarmingly, almost took a few of his Konoha brethren with him.

OOC: Not my best work and I apologize but I managed to get this out despite an unusually busy day. The current state of affairs is that the Beta team is in a forest clearing (again under the cover of a full moon’s night) battling against a number of puppeteers. Umashi tripped a trap and the Gamma squad Leader was called in for assistance. RP as you will concerning the battle (or even hiding, lol). The link below list the Alpha team as well as the Gamma team as well as any other notes concerning the mission. It should be noted that there are other nameless shinobi, NPCs within the Beta Team, and the Gamma Squad would have appeared from these ranks. PM me if you have any questions.

This was a super ultra uber ultimate secretive mission. No one was to know she was apart of this mission. No one was to notice any change in her routine. No one was to see her depart for the mission. So, she changed nothing about her routine. It wasn't uncommon for the lass to leave the village to collect plants for apothecary purposes. She had no family in the leaf village, all were still in stone. And she wasn't exactly an important member of a medical team at a hospital or on a shinobi team yet. The super secretiveness of it was lost on her. So she got up as per usual. Grabbed her bag of medical supplies. Headed for the gate, waved to the guard and headed out into the surrounding forest.

The young med-nin in training was taking it easy while the rest hid. All were crouched uncomfortably, she was standing, still standing shorter then they. All unsure of what was to go down, most silent and heeding the unknown of the mission, all except that Shinobu guy she met at the waterfalls. She stood tall, looking at the world around her. It was exhausting, the impatience and anxiousness of what was to come. She watched all the little things in the surrounding area, keeping an eye out for, 'Oh look a pray mantis'. It turned it's head slightly, watching as a beetle was crawling on the branch below. The mantis twitched slightly, acting as a leaf. It was right now doing a better job then they were at hiding, as she could hear the voice carry on the air talking about the blood color of the moon.

Seeing all was rather natural to her at this point. 500 yards away was the Kage, holding up two fingers and then putting them into a fist. Those near her started to talk, "Was that it, was that the signal." "I think he said go. It's hard to tell." Sara pushed them in the shoulder. She was still looking forward, as they turned to her and she held up her middle finger at them. Her glowing eyes piercing the night. She thought she saw something odd ahead, but wasn't sure what it was. Some chakra possible, though it was thin, about a mile ahead of them. It didn't seem concerning really, just something she took note of for herself. A mistake when she would look back at the situation to come. She heard one of them mutter, "Creepy banshee bitcs..." It wasn't the first time they said it, thinking they were out of ear shot. Her team didn't seem to like her much. Calling her something along the lines of 'The Banshee Girl'. It was something about her skin of white, light hair color and eerie ass glowing eyes if she remembered right. She wasn't to sure what a banshee was, something she would have to look up when she got back to the village. They made plenty of remarks about it shortly after they met each other and every time they referred to her. Though now she was sure it wasn't good.

Under the red moon, blackened sky, things seemed rather normal to her, actually, they seemed much better. The light that should have been shining down on her would have been so painful, but the darkness, it was a much more relaxing and soothing feeling. When the explosion rang out, her group flinched. Just those around her, she didn't though. She was like a rock. A very smooth and strongly held together dirt rock (clod). The next moment her group was heading towards the Kage. Leaving her way way behind. She wasn't sure what to do next, listening over the radio for some form of command. A command that didn't come as she watched her Kage head into the fray. She still waited, looking behind her and to the sides, a unneeded action but something pushed her to do such. She was alone now. Still she stood vigilant, unmoving. Over the radio she heard the words static words followed by Trap. She looked back, focusing on the finding her leader. He had ventured into a spot she had noticed before, now seeing more active chakra movement. 'Shit...um. What should I do?' She tried to search for another team. The young girl started to move in the direction everyone else had been heading. More words over the comms.

*Crackled* Gamma Squad...green lig...

She would have to head to those in the greatest danger. So far a hulk of a man seemed like he was being battered most. Though purposefully it appeared. She looked for others that she recognized. 'Orders! Orders please!' she thought to herself. It appeared chain of command was going out the window already. She was always instructed that medics shouldn't enter the fight, though something urged her to go against such.

The forest was unusually dark at this time of day, and had a blood red moon only noticed after stepping outside of the village. For Rei, a highly skilled ANBU kunoichi of the Leaf Village, this was a nice change of pace. Anything out of the normal such as this was to be noted, quite possibly a trick of the enemy, but of all the problems to have a little darkness was in the girl's favor. The Chigokai was out tonight on a mission. Finally. It felt to her as if she had been off of the battlefield in forever. Her chance had finally come now and she was hiding amongst the shadows of the trees in a gathering of fellow Konoha shinobi. She saw some who seemed inexperienced, some who hid from a distance such as herself, and even those fellow few like Tamashii she knew could hold their own. This mission was of the highest ranking, and it was not the raven-haired girl's place to question who they hired for the occasion. No, if they trusted those involved then she did as well, the real reason she was called upon was to do her own best.

The forest littered with trees was a good place for an ambush from the enemy if the other shinobi were not prepared. The first team had already set out to get the initial strikes and intel, and over the headset Rei heard nothing but the announcement of a few other shinobi present for her squad. The red eyes of the kunoichi hidden behind her fox mask were glued to her Hokage, Umashi, for the next move. He would be given intel first, and there wasn't much to be done before that point except observe and keep the guard up. Rei coated the tips of her first round of senbon in Iron Vien, a poison that caused many awful things to happen to the opponent Before she had left this morning she hid some senbon in her parasol on her back, those had been dipped in Heaven's Touch, a poison known for it's sleepy effects. A tiny yawn came from the ANBU's mouth as she waited, the darkness of this spot was starting to make her feel sleepy. She took this moment of silence to whisper into the headset she wore. "Aut cum scuto aut in scuto. X-ray, nine, zero, zero, three, alpha, on stand-by." The girl waited a few more minutes of sleepy silence before the Hokage was on the move.

The enemy had began to attack the shinobi squad with their puppets and other weaponry. Thankfully, the Leaf Village had some strong forces not to be doubted on their side, and the Gamma Squad was also here to help. A small smile slipped from Rei's lips behind her mask before she launched her poison-coated senbon from the shadows of the trees. It was the first time in a what felt like a long time she was in a battle to help the village she had grown to love. For some reason this was where she found the most joy, even if it held the most painful memories. There was nothing like thinking steps ahead, planning your next move, and executing the perfect critical hit on the enemy. The seventeen-year-old was emotionless in everyday life, but on the battlefield she was someone different entirely. Her hands moved quickly to form handseals for her first jutsu of the fight. Rei sent a volley of six ice shards at the enemies and their puppets, revealing her position. The kunoichi then dropped out of the tree she had been hiding up in, and stood amongst her fellow forces.

On the outside, Sora seemed as calm as ever. It was as if he had ice in his veins with his cool demeanor and composure. Sure he always seemed in control in public, but this here was his first battle. He'd be expected to be scared, frightened, nervous, all of that. He was somewhat, though he showed nothing. Sora was found standing on a branch in the trees, one hand against the large trunk of it while he leaned against the tree. He didn't wear his casual attire this time. This was a mission, a dangerous one at that which could cost him his life. Of course he'd have to dress appropriately.

Sora wore a black, short sleeve, pull over jacket with a collar that rose only to just under his ears. The collar cut off at the front and went down into a V-neck to expose the black T-shirt underneath. The edges of the sleeves, the bottom of the jacket, and the inside of the collar were all red. On his arms he had black armbands, which would cover a sealing scroll that was wrapped around each arm. On the lower half of his body he had a pair of white cargo shorts with a butt bag to hold some items, though all there was in it was a Kunai. Instead of blue sandals like most most shinobi, he had on black ones which rose 3/4 up to his knees. White tape was wrapped around it from the ankle to an inch from the top.

Sora's thoughts were a hurricane. He is Uchiha Sora, a Leaf Village Academy Student, though he is on an S rank mission. Of course he was put on the B team. It was suiting for him. This was a chance to get some precious battle experience before even becoming a Genin. This experience would further put him ahead the rest of his class. It was obvious that Sora would be chosen for this mission if Academy Students were going to be chosen. He was some sort of representative out of all the Academy Students. He had perfect grades in not just paper work, but as well as physical abilities and tests. He had superior Ninjutsu and Taijutsu abilities to most other students in his class. Not to mention he is of the Uchiha clan. These thoughts are what kept him calm.

He was going to die. This is a mission even Jounin and the Hokage is on. Yet he is here, a mere Academy Student. This wasn't for fun, nobody would be there to protect and save him. He was on his own on the battlefield. He had to protect himself and use his own abilities to keep himself alive. There would be many casualties, he would be one of the expected ones. He wasn't even a shinobi yet, why would he be expected to live? He was just cannon fodder. He didn't have any family at home, only his brother who was away on missions all the time. If he died, when would his brother find out? A month later? A year later?

Sora closed his eyes as these thoughts seemed to be having a battle in his mind until he realized something. He was representing the Uchiha Clan. If somebody like him could make it through this mission, then wouldn't it bring pride to the Uchiha? People would give them more respect if somebody of his caliber were to make it through. This mission would separate him from his other classmates. This mission would make him one step closer to his goal, this mission would make him stronger than ever before.

The next thing he realized, they were under attack. He could tell by the sounds of the puppets and their weapons, as well the Hokage. He escaped his thoughts and looked down with his coal colored eyes, without thinking, he jumped into action. With a couple handseals in his left hand a ball of fire appeared, using the Infernal Ember jutsu. Before he even hit ground he hurled it downwards upon a puppet and watched as it burst into flames. He was among the first few to enter the battle as he began to combat the enemy.

Kenshin watched as a few more approached his eyes keeping tabs on everyone as they moved out. Some were hiding but some were moving as a group. Kenshin was watching for traps when the leader tripped one.

Sprays after Sprays of needles would be launched at him. For an average person, it would be a death sentence. Thankfully, Kenshin was not average.

Shields of chakra formed all around him and each one blocked the incoming needles.

'Puppets. That must mean puppeteers. Aim for the head and the body will fall.'

As people began taking out puppets and puppeteers, Kenshin punched his fist to the ground and a cloud of what looked like Rubies flew through the air. Bypassing his allies the ruby cloud would strike some puppets but would go after the puppeteers hurling themselves at the puppet masters until their blood ran as red as the rubies that killed them.

As this was happening, Kenshin would press on as Gamma leader would take care of the rest. Kenshin would create a clone made of wind that would use Air bullet on any enemy that attacked him or a nearby ally whoever needed it first. THe clone would follow along hidden and if Kenshin was attacked, would body switch with.

This battle was getting interesting but Kenshin knew it was going to get worse. They had to end it before then and if Kenshin had to go all out, then he was going to show how a true shinobi shines on the field of combat. The Yuu family lived for war and this was his element above all else.

Something troubled him as the offensive took place and he watched various shinobi push head strong into the clearing to engage. Maybe it was because of the weight his own position carried that such worry for fellow shinobi had seeped into his mentality, having slowly but surely matured his train of thought. He was worried about those younger than him, scattered across the battlefield more so than he worried about his own well being. This played out as he found himself gazing at a young girl, whom couldn't have been no more than eleven possibly, wandering around the battlefield outskirts headed towards the fray. This was wrong to him, she wasn't moving with another but alone and it made his gut feel weakened at the prospect that a youth could potentially be injured due to lack of completely preparation.

Near Sara, a flicker of refracted light shot outwards from the opposite side of the clearing, something that her natural abilities could easily pick up but did not have to worry about as his chakra suddenly appeared with his blur in front of her. While at first his body could not be seen, he'd slowly relinquish his ghostly form and appear in full detail with Kunai in hand as the blade deflected several sensing projectiles into the ground around them. His stance would remain somewhat defensive, never keeping his eyes away from their front as he held a quick conversation with the girl.

"Not the type of environment where one should move alone, especially a child. I want you to stick with me and we'll group up with another. To much going on to be scattered all about with someone guarding your backside."

Before she could respond however he pressed his finger to his headset and spoke over their team's comm channel.

Beta Team, this is Head Jounin, code Z-Z-0-0-A-A. Do not press forward recklessly, group up in teams of two's or three's. W-W-0-0-D-D, i'll be linking with you as well as 9-X-0-0-C-1. Have someone watching your back as well as you watching their's. Jounin, Y-Y-0-0-B-B, locate and move with the uchiha boy from the academy, medic 9-Z-0-0-A-1, and Chuunin X-X-0-0-C-C. Z-9-0-0-1-A, keep your people next to the Hokage and take 9-Y-0-0-B-1 as well. Reserve most your chakra and avoid contact with Gamma leader if you value your own well being. W-W-0-0-D-D form up on the earth creation.

"My specialty is earth ninjutsu, specifically barriers and general traps.."

He'd be speaking to Sara as his fingertips wove through various hand signs before slamming his palms onto the ground. The earth infront of them would fracture slightly as slabs of rock and stone pushed upwards along with grass and roots. The creation would meld portions of the boulders and dirt into a singular form, though noticeably portions of it's arms were equally made of metal alloys. The Golem would not attack yet but crossed it's large arms and bunkered down to cover Sara and Oyochi from any attacks while waiting for Hakuren to group up.

Hakuren did not blindly charge in with the kage, so fortunately she was not caught up with the trap he set off nor was she in the way of the great green giant coming to save him. Hakuren counted herself lucky for keeping back in order to scribe a curse seal on herself before battle. She was scribing a Gaia Seal on herself figuring she could use all the power she could get considering the rank of this mission she was on. Fortunately her body to a liking took seal and it did not drain her that much to scribe one on herself. She was just putting on the finishing touches when a person calls for her of the headset.

She looks around the battle field for the earth creation the man was talking about and she cringes when she sees it. “What type of pathetic summon is this? This is no time to be summoning weaklings,” she says under her breath. She then presses the button for her to reply to the man. “Orders confirmed. Will be engaging formation with own creation.” Hakuren focuses the curses powers to the tip of her finger and begins to draw a magic circle in the air. What emerges form it was a monster to be sure. She was bigger than a human with her bottom half being that of a snake. The top half seems human for the most part and was decently endowed for those who were looking in that area. Her lower arms however were covered with feathers and hands were like talons. A blindfold covers her eyes and in the center of the blindfold was an ornamental eye. In truth she was a projectile weapon enhanced and brought to life with the curses powers. Instead of using range accuracy as her weapon type suggests, she uses the melee accuracy of her summoner.

If this is what shinobi’s creation jutsu is like, then they are nothing more than a mere imitation. True summoning is an art form not to be taken lightly. When she gets herself up in rank she is going to have to teach a class for this mockery cannot be allowed to continue. However as ordered Hakuren, her companion and her summon form up with the rock golem.

The little things that always seemed to give people away. . . There was alot going on at once, but to simplify things in one word, things seemed to be a bit of a clusterfuck. With a simple nod. He would Listen out for the explosive attacks. And All at once everything went to hell. It was a trap. And a trap indeed... But had the necessary things seemed to abide by. Traps had to be deployed when the right notions were met. Which meant, they had to know or, at the very least, had the wherewithal to be precognitive enough to see this coming? The Daimyo was a very paranoid man. And anyone who was that paranoid, knew what was going to come. Death. Which would be this exact ideal. Tamashii would spring into action.

Cold chills and cheap thrills, seemed to wallow around Tama, as next to him would emerge after a small prayer. "Matka. Pojď ke mně." and right next to him would sprout a woman elegant in her clothing. But she looked like she was a religious woman. Dressed head to toe in black and white garments. She seemed to be following taking on the puppets like she would when she was alive. 'Hello Mom.' thinking to himself their chakra were connected, but he didnt have time to reminiscence right now. This was time for the big games. With a challenging shout he'd smirk. "WILL OF FIRE!" why? Because his battle cries were charged with genjutsu prowess and all of his allied chakra would be explosed to his unwavering voice. Everyone who chose to take heed to his shout would even feel their battle prowess raising. Finding himself switching into his stance, a stance honed by the Yukata something that added to their hand to hand fighting potential. As their hands held quite a good amount of power within them.

"SONIC! BOOM!", a sonic wave of chakra blasted out from his hands to a nearby trio of puppets. He found himself making a short ways to Oyochi and the young child as well as getting close to Etsuko. "Yukari, Rei. Hold out in the front Dont let anything through.", he'd call out to his ANBU subordinates those specifically as he watched with a keen eye to the 'Hulk' He would add him in the battle cry. As long as he was running through the enemy, Tama didnt care. "Hm.", he'd hold back on the summoning just yet. There wasnt anything here that seemed to be too bad that the group couldnt already handle. 'I have to save the King for later. . . He'll not want to be summoned under petty conditioning.' nodding he would make sure this would add up to the culmination of this event. They were officially fighting for their lives.

This would be fun.

So a battle had started, one of the firsts. Etsuko was in the clearing now, she didn't gave long to stay still as senbon came shooting at anyone who was near, they all came from puppets. Etsuko kept on her toes, using a kunai, and her acrobatic skills to avoid being a victim of a puncture wound. She deflected and dodged senbon, while others started to attack the puppets, and the puppet masters.

Etsuko decided it'd be best to save her chakra for the bigger battle, and in case any of her follow comrades got themselves hurt in this scuffle. She would strike down any puppet using her kunai, and her hand to hand combat skills. Only if they were close enough to her would She attack, for now she stayed on the defensive, while everyone else took the offensive.

Soon enough etsuko caught glimps of a giant green man, smashing through the enemy. She wasn't sure if that thing was actually on their side, it just looked like it was out of control. She took note to stay away from it. One good hit from that beast and She could be out cold, or worse. While etsuko got a glimps of the battle field, she did notice children out here as well. It wasn't the first time she'd seen such youth fighting, after all she did travel fire country for a while while it was still torn.it didn't surprise her, she just wished that there were more experienced shinobi in their places. Oh well, hopefully they could learn from this if they survived. Etsuko was already hardening herself, she didn't want to see them get hurt, but if they died, she wouldn't take it in too deeply. At least she didn't want to.

Etsuko kept herself moving but relatively in the same area. Soon enough she heard her orders to team up with a jounin, chuunin, and a uchiha kid who did not have a code. She knew the numbers, she just wasn't sure on the faces. Numbers were easy for her to remember, facewere not. Luckily it'd be easy to spot the uchiha kid, just look for the miniature emo. She had heard a lot of rumors about the uchiha while on her travels, she thought they were all just a myth. She didn't think the kid she saw earlier was one of them, but looking at him now, She could see he was indeed an uchiha. Probably the only person here that looked like one.

Etsuko made her way to him, it didn't take that long. She figured the other two would move in on him as well. When she approached she announced herself. "Medic here,]Non ducor, duco, 9Z00A." not like the kid would know the numbers, or maybe he did. She just thought he was a tag along since he didn't have a code himself. Maybe he wasn't even in the ranks yet, either way she had orders to stick close to him and the other two. She assumed they'd be nearby pretty soon.

As things continued on, etsuko heard a shout, will of fire, it was odd to her, and the voice was very fimilar. She took a quick look and saw it was indeed Tama, a battle cry. It had been a long time since she had heard that phrase. Though she couldn't explain it, she felt empowered by it. Maybe this was one of tama's powers.

Etsuko continued on the defense, She was medic after all and she wouldn't use her chakra so carelessly. She was skilled at saving her chakra, and even learning how to use as little a possible while in battle. The kid seemed good at fending attacks off anyways, it was also only puppets. Puppetiers were not commonly that strong without their puppets after all. Then again she might just be underestimating them.

This was to be a secret, as said to only those whom were invited upon this mission. You could call it a small squad of professionals among the three areas of the village, though saying that to anyone would only raise the question of whom exactly the professionals were. We were to breathe not even a single letter of what we were doing, especially since there could be complications. She rose from bed and looked around. This may be the last time she sees any of this stuff, let alone this village again, however it wasn't the time for goodbyes, nor the time to remember whatever good times there were to be had. Instead, she took the time to inspect her gear before packing up and running out the door, grabbing her black steel short sword and holstering it where it was most comfortable, behind her waist, and quickly making a second look to make sure nothing was forgotten. She wasn't one for checklists, and she wasn't about to be. Not a single person would care if she were gone from the village for days, or perhaps weeks on end anyways. She was a terror at best to them, so she felt this might be a chance at redemption. That's how she was going to look at it, anyways. It was worth the time taken. "Alright, so time to head to the meeting point..." As she made her way to the gates, she wasn't stopped, as usual, and as usual, it seemed like the guards were happy to see her dipping out of the village once more.

After some time of running through the forest, she made it to the designated meeting area. Quietly over her headset, she muttered her code "Y9002A. Aut cum scuto aut in scuto." She slipped on her mask and waited, checking over her weapon once more, slowly unsheathing it. She ran the blade over her finger, inspecting the sharpness. "It's good, sharp." She heard someone talking as if this weren't a spec-ops mission, and as she looked over, she spotted two other ANBU, though one had a strange marking on their mask. ANBU doesn't usually allow that, though with how this mission had been brought up, she wasn't so shocked to see something different, especially since she didn't take the time to speak, often. The guy without the mask was talking as if everyone had been sitting around a table, having drinks and talking about their day. This wasn't the time, nor the place for such discussions, but who was she to break it up, right? It was time to move though, and the time to move meant something fun might happen. She quickly adjusted her mask, and started off as she noticed the last person proceed. "Back of the pack. If I'm needed ahead, it'll be something I'll be able to follow up with easily. Or...at least I hope so."

As they jumped through the forest heading for the Daimyo's camp, she heard crackling over the radio. "It's a trap!" The Kage's voice rang out, though through a crackling comm, like a drop of water into a fire. This meant battle, and this meant she'd be able to do something useful. She smiled, a cunning yet deadly grin under her mask. It looked like Gamma was given the green light, and whether or not Beta had the same light was not the issue here. Yukari sprang to the nearest cloaked spot to do some quick recon of the situation to try to locate not only others in her squad, but the enemy locations. Her fire would burn this entire forest to a crisp. She didn't want that. Not yet. If she needed to use it, she was going to use it to drop the biggest one there. She found a good perch up a tree and scanned the newly formed battlefield of a forest before spotting what looked almost like a lumbering giant. "What in the seven hells is that?" She pressed the button on her comms to activate it. "Requesting location update of those in the vicinity of the lumbering green giant. Is anyone else seeing this?" Before she could receive a response, she hopped down into the battle to take on the nearest enemy dumb enough to come within her vicinity. She quickly signed for two different jutsu, the first being Arid Land and the second, Vaporization, both aimed at the closest enemy she had spotted.

After talking to Ino to calm his nerves a bit Shinobu looked over to Oyochi giving him the death glare. He shut his mouth and blushed bright red in his cheeks instantly. "Super Secret Mission time and here I am just chatting it up like Sunday lunch." Embarrassingly he silently smiled in apology to Ino and her identically dressed friend while giving a wave. As the group moved forward he tought about how he might have gotten her in trouble too. "Oh man I am gonna have to make that up to her."

His eyes darting back and forth amongst his allies, Shinobu kept to the edges of the group ready to handle anyone smart enough or stupid enough to flank them. A short time later he heard the Hokage call out over the headsets "It's a trap". The chaos that erupted turned Shinobu around for a moment, at first he ran straight toward the middle of the fray, "Oh crap where am I going?", he then turned around and started running away from the giant green man who was wrecking the enemy, "Wait, Stop, you decided not to run away from battle anymore!". He turned around again and started running back toward the chaos of battle. As he ran he pulled out a handful of oversized kunai and began hurling them toward the puppet assault. His weapons hit some of their targets but several of the puppets still got hits in, leaving Shinobu with a bruised and bloodied face.

Looking around at the blood and puppet parts scattered all around the field Shinobu started to feel helpless. Then the sound of Oyochi's voice echoed over the headsets, "Alright time to form up with the others, I'm glad someone took charge and got us organized because I was lost out here." Peering around he finally found Kenshin pounding on both puppets and puppeteers with his wave of ruby shards. Hurtling himself toward Kenshin he also kept an eye out for the indicated Uchiha and Medic he was to team with. As he moved Shinobu realized he was going to need some help if he was to team up with his squad. Seeing his allies across the field call forth their creations gave him an idea. Making handseals, the ground near him shuddered then out from it erupted an earth golem, his earth golem 'Fluffy'. Without missing a beat he pulled out some supplies from his pouches and tossed them up to the rock golem. "Here Fluffy put on your disguise, we need to hide our identities, this is a Super Secret Mission. What no, stop looking over there at Zulu, Zulu, Zero, Zero, Alpha, Alpha's golem, I know hes a lot bigger than you but size isn't everything alright! Now that you are properly disguised lets go find the rest of our teammates and rendezvous with Kensh..... I mean Yankee, Yankee, Zero, Zero, Bravo, Bravo-senpai."

With his earth creation covering his back Shinobu was able to move across the battlefield much more easily. Leaping over the swing of a sword he quickly spotted a kid dressed in black white and red and a green haired girl together. "That has to be them, at least I hope it is. I should work with them to get toward Kenshin-senapi." Running across the battlefield he made his way to the bob of green hair that would pop up every now and again. "Hey its me Shin... I mean Vincit qui se vincit, X-ray, X-ray, Zero, Zero, Charlie, Charlie! This is my ally Fluffy." He jerked his thumb toward the rock golem in disguise. "Don't be fooled by his disguise he is just a earth release creation. You all ready to start moving toward Yankee, Yankee, Zero, Zero, Bravo, Bravo-senpai together? Don't be afraid to use Fluffy as a shield as we move, and if you get in any trouble call out and I will body switch with you, I know how to take a hit for others and I am a lot tougher than I look." He looked at the other two and smiled big, revealing two new gaps in his teeth where puppet blows had knocked them out and a mouth filled with blood.

When Xiao came to Leaf he received all that he hoped. After demonstrating his skills he obtained the rank of Jounin, apparently well-fit for it. Though he had yet purchased a residence, he kept several optimal locations in mind. For now, he made camp near the village and familiarized himself with intelligence reports of the Daimyo and his activities.

After all Dongliu says, one ought know their enemy or risk succumbing to a crushing defeat.

By the time he felt like he knew all there was to know he was ready after the beta team. Told the mission was considered a secret he left his Dao-Protector Chen in the village with a clone. This was one mission he needed to accomplish himself and kept Chen busy with another task.

It was likely the beta team would start without him and that was okay. At least he could take care of the rear, thinking if there were any trouble his opponents may find themselves killed before the thought to blink even comes to being. No doubt warriors of the Daimyo were strong but the number of people that could actually touch or keep up with him could be counted on one hand. Able to place himself from one location to another in an instant, Xiao was confident of his safety.

The moment Xiao entered the target area, he felt something strange wash over him and was astonished, for he realized if one were to let their guard down they would be on the ground completely defenseless. When the strange feeling came to him Xiao covered his body with the faint light of golden-white chakra of the Sundering the Heavens Art, resisting it without effort. He flicked his wrist and a headset appeared on his palm directly from his interspatial ring. He put the headset on his right ear and activated it.

Xiao also realized whatever it was that just swept over him was only a small portion. He took a brief glance at the large Tree and pondered on its origin ever since he learned of its existence. He could sense that it had reality-bending capabilities... just like he does but likely far more powerful. Now he was curious to learn what the Daimyo actually planned to do with it. The man must be dreaming if he truly thought he could control such a power.

However he quickly ceased his thoughts when a loud explosion shook the sky. He increased his pace and began to warp forward at incredible speed. He caught up soon enough and heard the sounds of battle, then a roar of fury. A green-skinned giant of a man, if he can even be called a man, was causing havoc.

That's... He must be at least two or three heads taller than Kyojin! Curious, very curious.

If anyone looked at Xiao, they may see 3 or 4 of him somehow walking upside down or even sideways. This is not genjutsu but the doing of his strange chakra that allows him to do the occasional impossible. It fluctuates around the young Xiangtian, causing bizarre sights. Xiao muttered the ID and phrase he had been given a few days ago into his headset but remained hidden. He was thinking about ways to contribute. Should he continue with the Beta team or join the Gamma to cause chaos? Wait and see, he thought.

He decided to flank ahead and wait for opportunities to strike against enemies who were distracted with avoiding attacks and the like. If the enemy wanted to somehow break through the line, haha, they can keep on dreaming. With a good sweep of his inhuman speed and Zantetsuken technique, a tango may find themselves headless before hitting the ground and long after Xiao selected his second or third prey.

Puppeteers? Must be tired of living.

A melody wafted through the air. Ha was not one for dramatics, but then again music was in itself dramatic. The black and red garbed jounin follows behind the main push of the team. He’d been told far too late about the mission, but nonetheless he made good time to catch up. And without a moment to spare, it seemed. Amid the shout of “It’s a trap!” that seemed somewhat fishy, there came more words and shouts of alarm. Ha steps into view to find Beta in a classic killbox. Puppets were closing in. And Ha simply let the joy of blood enter his eyes as his lips pursed tighter.

The sound of his whistling was unreal. It pierced the air, rising above the din of the team below. But they were not the target of his musical energies. Those controlling the puppets were. Ha had well over a decade of hard training to perfect his craft. Like the eponymous ear worm, the melody of his music was unstoppable. It burrowed, it latched onto the brains, and it delivered a simple message.

Step out where you can see their faces. Step out to show them their doom. Step into sight, that they can know the futility of their actions.

It was a simple thing, it was a sadistic thought that might strike a chord in their own minds. One by one the masters of these creatures would follow. One by one they would stand tall to gloat about the situation that Beta had found itself in.

Ha simply kept whistling. He was a tall man. Tall enough to see them from his vantage point. His red and black hair was full, but not very long. It rose slightly over a pale face covered with a white and red mask around the eyes. He wore a black jacket and pants, with red symbols on each and a white picture on the jacket’s back. At his side hung a blade, the sheathe a large, elegant thing of beauty. One could only imagine the blade would match such grace.

As each of the puppeteers finally steps free, Ha’s whistle rises sharply in pitch to a stunning level before breaking off sharply. With hope, the effect of such a sudden overload and then deprivation would give Beta the chance they needed.

”I suggest killing them.”
