Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

This evening, on Cosmos...

It was late at night, and Karu Seigun was hard at work. He had worked all throughout the day, his signature turtleneck the same he had worn for the two straight days he had pored over his book. Thousands of minor details, and dozens of theories were racing through his mind, and he had to get them on record - lest the world lose some new avenues of thought.

There were some, however, who preferred his methods of thinking be lost forever. To them, his ideas were dangerous and blasphemous to the Earth Mother. Looking at the heavens for discovery? Ignoring the earth beneath their feet? The very earth that sustained and nurtured them as beings? This particular Earthborn cult intended to end this infidel's life tonight.

Luckily for Seigun, the cult wasn't very good at keeping secrets. Some mouthy initiate said a little too much out in the open, and the plot came to light. In response, the shinobi by the name of Onamuji was dispatched to lay a trap to trap the trappers. When they would enter the scene, supposedly by surprise, to eliminate the passive Seigun, Onamuji would meet them and dispose of them while keeping Seigun safe from harm. It was a tricky task, but Onamuji was selected for a reason.

It was close to midnight and most of Seigun's assistants had gone home for the day. Whatever remained were in other sections of the building, or off running late-night errands. The cultists had certainly done their homework.

Onamuji stuck to the shadows, hidden from sight and completely silent as the cultists slowly began dropping in from the air shafts. They took their time in gathering, and eventually, their number was confirmed at five total. As soon as they made a move toward Seigun, Muji stepped out from his hidden vantage point.

"The Earth Mother demands we silence the blasphemer..." they chanted amidst their own ranks, their eyes fixed on the scientist.

"Oh, did mommy tell you children that herself?" the sage asked sarcastically, "Or did your boss tell you she told him that. Pft...cults. You always obsess over a single piece of the world's puzzle, and it's always one fool who ruins it for everyone else..."

This visibly annoyed the cultists, though they didn't give a response aside from glares and frowns. They were set to their task, and quickly went to work.

Two men threw knives at Seigun, but Onamuji managed to utilize the Wind Release jutsu to send the flying blades far from their target and into the wall. The other three decided to deal with the new threat to their plan, charging at Muji with kama scythes. In an instant, the sage's jet black Chakra Disruption Blade jutted out of his sleeve and into his hand, enabling him to quickly deflect the intial blows coming his direction. With a jab, he was able to use Heavenly Subjugation, sending his will to overpower that of the cultist with a fraction of the same power he used to possess bodies altogether. An image of Muji's Rinnegan took over the cultist's mind, and the slash he intended for Muji went far and away, managing to cut a deep wound in one of his allies' chest. With an extra push, the Chakra Disruption Blade pierced the cultist's heart, killing him.

When the remaining uninjured cultist moved to take another swipe, Onamuji noticed the other set of two moving for Seigun. With a deft roll, the Rikudo Sennin dodged the attack meant for him, simultaneously performing a flash of handseals to unleash a network of lightning from his fingertips, stopping both assassins in their tracks and dropping them to the ground.

As Muji got back to his feet, he used another set of seals and plunged a fist against the chest of the man who attempted to cut him down, enveloping him in the Water Prison jutsu. As the injured cultist attempted to come to his comrade's aid, Muji performed a set of one-handed seals, unleashing a jet of flame that scorched the would-be savior and left him a charred heap on the ground. Turning to the sole survivor, the sage used the Temple of Nirvana jutsu to put the man to sleep, dropping him hard from the Water Prison jutsu.

After brushing himself off, Muji cleared his throat and put a finger to his headset.

"Karu Seigun is safe, we've got a few culprits requiring detention," he said aloud, moving to check the pulse of the two he had hit with lightning, "Three living, two deceased. Onamuji, out."

And with that, the sage simply gave Seigun a polite handshake and a smile, then faded back into the shadows. Seigun was speechless, but hey...he was alive.
