Bloody Mess:
-Katsumi drew in a breath, clutching the sword crafted from his own chakra. To others it might look funny...as it would seem that he wasn't holding anything. The chakra was refined and let off a blueish hue. Teleporting from place to make, getting ever so closer to the practice dummy ahead, he tensed. In the next moment he slashed it a few times. Quick, small...accurate slashes. Letting the sword dissipate, he touched the marks, observing how deep they were. "I need to refine this..." Each time he attacked with his sword, he would aim to cut finer lines...deeper lines. Each cut he made continued to get deeper and slimmer until when finally, observing the marks, he was satisfied. (WC: 118)

Nimble Hands:
-Having exceptional skill with the sword yet wanting to cast Genjutsu, Katsumi often ran into this problem. He always strives to be as quick as possible. So quick, no one would ever see him coming. He didn't want to pause to have to dispel his weapon just to cast a Genjutsu here and there. "Quicker...quicker." Barely visible, he attacked the dummy. Dashing backwards to anticipate an attack, he threw his sword into the air...just a little. In a flash he performed some hand signs, snatching the handle of the sword just in time. "Eh...this is just formed from my chakra...it's...a mental projection..." He needed to wrap his head around that. It was tricky, but once he was able to keep his chakra sword hanging in front of him and form the split second action of handsigns...he found it easy to do both at the same time. Now...he just needed to work on doing so while moving all over the place. (WC: 160)

Quick Reaction:
-Speed. Dodging attacks. Everything in that regard was important to him and most of his training centered around it. This time he had set up some dummies that would actually attack him. Shuriken and basic strikes. Katsumi wanted to only use his chakra gloves this time. As the dummy came to attack him, he'd disappear behind it before it even moved really. He delivered a kick to send it flying across the training room. His goal was to improve his reaction time. To catch his enemy off guard and attack before they can react. Taking another breath, he closed his eyes to perceive attacks with his other senses. Tensing a bit, he flashed to the side as an attack came from behind, and instantly kicked the dummy across the room again. (WC: 131)

Thick Blood:
-The only other thing more important than speed and dodging to Katsumi was his defense. If an attack were to ever hit him, he could be prepared. Even more so if this attacker wielded a sword like himself. He would make sure that he came on top. But he was far from battle hardened. He knew that he needed a tougher exterior and interior. It was definitely going to be hard...but his mother had set the groundwork for him when he was a child; whether she intended it or not. Katsumi closed his eyes and allowed his chakra to swirl inside him, or at least became aware of it. He imagined the chakra hardening like his own personal shield. Using a kunai, he sliced into his arm to see the results. Sure enough...the mind is as powerful a tool as any. Hardly any blood seeped from the cut. (WC: 148)

Combat Instinct:
-For this training, Katsumi enlisted the help of shinobi he had never met before. Since being in Stone, he really didn't know a soul. But they agreed readily enough. Katsumi only wanted to put to the test what he always trains...in real combat. He didn't even plan to attack any of them. He just wanted to see how far he could get with just speed. So for the entire two hours of training, all he did was weave in and out of his attackers. Using his Seikon abilities here and there as well. But it almost felt like cheating so he didn't do it often. (WC: 105)

Shattered Reality:
-Along with his Taijutsu abilities, there is another jutsu type that he most certainly prefers: Genjutsu. Katsumi finds the art beautiful and rewarding. The subtle way you can change a battle...the slight change in focus for the good or bad. Anything is possible with Genjutsu and he feels alive when he casts them. Once more he assigns some training from other shinobi. To give himself more of a challenge he allowed them to attack him nonstop while he concentrated on casting the jutsu. He had trained his Genjutsu since he was a child, so it was really just like any other training. That is, until he figured out a trick. Quickly casting and dispelling his techniques caused the other shinobi to stumble and be clumsy in their movements. He was able to majorly distract them in this way and dodge their attacks easily. (WC: 143)

Bull's Strength:
-Katsumi's weapon of choice was his chakra sword. That invisible part of him that he trained every day to become even more deadly with each strike. When he wasn't training with that, he was perfecting his unarmed style. Katsumi was all about precision and speed. He'd attack the training dummy as quick as he can, warping and dashing from every angle he could reach, slashing away. Each day the strength of those slashes were so great that if he didn't hold back, he would end up slashing the dummy in half! However, this was a wonderful strength he could tap into if the need arose. Katsumi found that he was quite good at delivering quick yet true strikes. (WC: 118)

Clarity:
-Katsumi was always keenly aware of his surroundings, even when he was a child. He had to be. Along with his growth in the Genjutsu art...a natural ability to sense Genjutsu arose along with it. He was intimately entwined with Genjutsu every day, so it was no wonder that he'd grow accustomed to being in one. Training his resistances was always a fail safe if speed and dodging were not enough. He wanted to be prepared for absolutely everything. As taxing as this was, he allowed for all kinds of Genjutsu to enter his mind. He tried to be aware of them. He feel them from the inside out. He wanted to study the effects. So much so that he could easily tell if he was ever in a Genjutsu. (WC: 131)

Deflection:
-It wasn't enough just to dodge an attack sometimes. Katsumi wanted to make sure he could always come out on top on a one on one situation. He practiced with both weapons. Any attack thrown at him, Katsumi would instead use his weapon to steer the attack in a slightly different direction. He became an expert in reading other people's movements, and just before they strike...deflect it to the side. It must be infuriating for the attacker. A pleasant side effect of this was that he found it was possible to turn the attack onto another person. Oh yes...he had plenty of fun making his training partner attack his ally from a slight turn of his own hand. (WC: 118)

Insight:
-It was already easier for Katsumi to read his opponents move. He was just naturally more observative than others. Whether it be walking through the park or in the heat of battle, he was keenly searching for details...piling them together in his mind and making a lighting quick decision. All he had to do was train this ability of his...refine it until it was perfect. Katsumi trained with a specialist for this. A specialist in sneak attacks. He would stare unblinkingly at his opponent, observing every muscle twitch, watching every bit of eye movement. Before the man even moved, he knew what was going to happen...and he had a plan to counter him. (WC: 114)

Elemental Illusion: Wind:
-Katsumi knew he needed to be rounded if he truly wanted to be completely prepared for any kind of battle. He liked the wind element of Ninjutsu simply because of its quick and invisible nature. Once he learned he could combine his mastery of this element into his Genjutsu...it was like a dream come true. He charged his technique with wind chakra...and was amazed at the effect it had. It worked perfectly for his sword techniques. The Genjutsu enhanced with wind chakra just sliced into the opponent and allowed his sword attacks to cut deeper and deeper. It fit his style of fighting so well...he just couldn't say no to it. (WC: 111)

Katsumi sat cross-legged in a field where he could meditate and not be disturbed. He took a deep breath and calmed his mind until it was clear. Perfect for coming up with ideas and to prepare him for training. He'd been wanting to try this for a while. He was always striving to be better and better at what he specialized in. It was now that he chose to experiment with combining different types of chakra for different techniques. It would be crazy but it would also be a lot of fun. First, he stood and charged up his wind chakra, allowing the technique to flow through his body calmly. It picked up speed as he concentrated on the chakra center in his stomach. With familiar hand signs in mind, he released the invisible technique which slashed beautifully in the air...just like his sword techniques. He always saw wind jutsu as just another demonstration of sword power. Now with lightning, he enjoyed the flash of beauty and the instantaneous delivery. As with the wind jutsu, he concentrated on drawing out the full potential of the technique. He took it nice and slow. As with before, he watched in amazement at the beauty of it. Lightning represented the speed he held in such high regard. Now it was time to try and combine them. This took even more preparation as he'd never attempted something like that before. But once he was ready...he slowly allowed the two chakra types to mix and flow together. He formed a few handsigns and watched his creation come to life. In a flash of insane speed and bright light, the new element flashed forward just like a sword, slicing everything away with intense beauty. It really was the most amazing thing he'd ever seen. He'd created a new element! An element that utilized Wind's slashing nature, and the speed and beauty of lightning. Katsumi couldn't ask for more. (WC: 323)
