Age: Seventeen
Main Branch: ANBU
IC Rank: AiT
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Core ability: Opportunist[/spoilername]
[spoilername="Appearance and personality"]Character's Physical Description: Physique is rather average for a seventeen year old, not bulky, not scrawny. Quite tall, pushing six foot three. When it comes to clothing, he usually wanders around without a shirt on. Covered in bandages. Wears a pair of orange shorts --his favorites-- all the time. A tattoo runs down his right arm. His hair is usually tied up in a knot due to its length and he rarely takes it down. His eyes are a beautiful ruby red color, giving him a mysterious vibe.
Character's Mental Description: A quiet person that speaks only when he feels it is necessary. Does what he feels is right and doesn't let very much stop him. In general, it would seem that he is void of emotion but he's actually pretty nice once you get to know him. He values getting a job done more than anything else, however. Yukine isn't angry very often or upset, he mostly just sails through each day working on what he can, trying to pass the hours by. He rarely smiles, as well. Only thing that brings out very much emotion in him is fighting, as that's his favorite activity.[/spoilername]
[spoilername="Katsuro history"]Character History: The running sound of a water mill, the river rushing down as if angry, the animals making noises and feeding. These were the sounds that Yukine had gotten used to hearing compared to his past life in the village. They had moved from the village more than once and were more than likely to return but they quite liked having this relaxing home by the river. The smell of wheat filled the air all around, the crops exuberant as the greenest forests and the river as crystal blue as the sky. It was beautiful.
Yukine woke up to the usual smell of breakfast in the morning, shaken up by his family's loud nature. Three brothers, a mother and a father don’t make it easy to sleep in, certainly when you live in the middle of nowhere. They have nothing better to do other than running around screaming -- and most certainly bugging people -- which wasn’t the most ideal thing for the protagonist of this story.
Yukine was your regular lazy teenager that couldn’t be bothered doing anything besides sleeping and reading books. Dismissing his laziness, however, he was actually an incredibly smart kid. He was probably smarter than a lot of kids his age but he didn’t make very much use of it, he didn’t have the energy half of the time but eventually, around the time he reached the age of fourteen, he started getting involved with other kids his age. They didn’t like him so much because he was quiet and to himself but whenever he did speak, it was like he just knew everything thus pissing them off. During this time, he stilled lived in the middle of nowhere, so every time he wanted to head home from the village he had to walk a good few hours to return, which to repeat, wasn’t ideal.
This all changed rather quickly, understandably, as they were forced to move back into the village to continuing supporting their family. This is when Yukine first stumbled across a book named “The Ninja: The duties of the Ninja” and he got engrossed in it. First, he finished the main series of books linking to this, then he moved onto the spin offs and extras that gave all the information to fledgling ninja wannabes. And, as unmotivated as he is, he was genuinely interested in something for once. He didn’t want to exert energy doing it hence his plan to join the ninja academy and then pass with the least amount of effort possible.
And that is exactly what he did…
Pan two years later and Yukine had made it through the ninja academy. Not much had changed over the two years. Yukine was still the same quiet, to himself character that he started off, just add a few inches to his height also maybe some hairs on the chin and you have him. But along with this, was the hate of his fellow classmates. A lot of them got used to him and didn’t mind him so much but there was a small group that despised him. Loathed him. Almost enough to want to kill him but they weren’t aiming for that. They just wanted to spook him, so they formulated a plan.
Thus… they carried it out… with some unexpected changes.
The crispy coldness of the air could be felt by everyone, the frost consuming everything it could. It was unusual to have weather like this now however no one treat it as a big problem. Yukine, being his usual self, was outside in the cold, laying down on a small patch of grass. The cold air nipped at him although his body fought back, keeping him nice and warm. The boy was captivated in his thoughts, unaware of his surroundings. Completely heedless of the encompassing area, not observing the four boys who gradually made their way towards him.
They completely repudiated him, looking down on him like he was a piece of dirt. Moreover, they thought they were better than him at everything but in reality they were just
fawning over Yukine and being jealous.
Like a flock of crows, they circled the boy who was just laying there. Currently unaware of their presence, his left eye slipped open and gazed upon the four circling him with their faces covered in utter abhorrence. Unshaken, the boy continued to lay there, not budging. He had a hunch that they might engage upon him but he was ready if they did. And just as he had initially predicted, they didn’t hesitate to try and attack him despite being in quite a public place thus causing quite the scene. A small gathering was created as everyone watched the one boy mercilessly beat the four that tried to ambush him. Laying down, they all charged in on him, committed to taking him down. Yukine was aware that he would now have to beat them or he would end up the hurt one but he didn’t feel like fighting. He wasn’t presented with a choice and thus resorted to going all out, to avoid taking too much time. A swift, elegant motion of his body shocked the crowd as he seemed to glide up onto his feet, instantly bringing his elbow down onto the back of the strongest looking kid’s neck. The other three continued their relentless assault towards him. “One down… three to go.”
And as is wanting to be beaten by him, one of the other kids launched themselves at him, leg forward as if to kick him. With ease he slipped to the side and caught his leg, using his own momentum to throw him into the third kid. “That makes three.”
The final and fourth was much more cautious, not instantly rushing in now that three of his friends had been taken down. He seemed worried about his friend who was first hurt. As if to surprise Yukine, his fist came flashing up towards him with no previous warning or motion. Yukine would stop it hitting his face with his arms pressed against the side of his face, blocking it and then instantly retorting to the kid’s surprise attack. Without mercy or remorse, Yukine brought his fist to his face, then grabbing his head and finally using his knee to end the job. Bandages covered in blood, he wrapped them around his hand once more and walked off, past the dazed crowd. Yukine paid no notice to the fact he was being watched… Observed by the ANBU. Moreover, they didn’t hesitate to make it known, approaching him within days of the fight. Yukine was presented with two choices but he saw it as blackmail. Accept their offer to train in ANBU and proceed through the ranks or go to jail for beating up fellow leafies.
It took him a few days to consider the proposal he had been offered not long after the fight. Though, it wasn’t much like he had a choice. Making a swift visit to his family, he simply said goodbye with a small explanation that he would be gone for awhile. Worrying them. Although the understood and accepted it, waving him a farewell as he disappeared into the night.
During his time with AiT, he learned that just getting the job done was the most important part. It didn’t matter how it gone done, even if it meant pulling off dirty tricks to beat the enemy or get the objective. His goal was to be officially recognized as ANBU but he wasn’t going to go out of his way to earn it. He would let it come to him as he lazily did his required AiT responsibilities. Again, not like he had much choice.[/spoilername]
