Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

[spoilername="MFT"]"Three kids?" she repeated, her eyes wide in surprise. Although it really shouldn’t have come as much of one, considering the profession they were in. With the unpredictability of missions, it was probably a well accepted fact that shinobi died young. Youko knew that firsthand. It was only reasonable to find that many opted to settle down young, too, "I hate to break it to you, but I think you're going to have to get used to being called an old man then," she joked, giggling along with him. Truthfully, she didn't find him that old at all, gauging that he had to be at least around her age, or perhaps just a year or two older. "Well that's one way to make a village stranger feel quite... special," she said, her cheeks pinking slightly as he told her about his clan's name. After having been given the freedom to pursue her own interests, Youko had done nothing but train and hone her skills as a shinobi. She didn't realize she would ever need the lessons her elders had always been trying to engrain into her. Current affairs and clan politics... much of it was something she never wanted to be a part of, though she was slowly coming to terms with the fact that they hadn't been pushing her to learn all that just so they could hinder her from doing what she wanted. Knowing clan names would have certainly saved her this small embarrassment.

"I'm not an anything girl," she said, although taking the wine glass with a grateful smile, "I mean, I don't particularly like one drink over another. I'm what you could call a social drinker, so it's pretty much just whatever's offered," she let out a small laugh, remembering both clan functions and the small "celebrations" she often had with her cousins.

She smiled sheepishly at him, "I was worried about having trouble finding my way around at first, so I thank you very much for all your help,"

"Oh no, no, it's okay. I can understand the curiosity," she said, although there was her eyebrows pulled together, a troubled look surfacing on her features, "It's just, um... When "it" happened, whatever it was, I was in a coma at the hospital. By the time I got released, people already left, or at least were doing so. I wasn't really myself then too. It felt like too much of a dream, that I wondered if I had ever woken up at all," she explained, starting from the start of what she could remember hopefully being the best way he could understand what she knew herself.

"I left before it completely froze over. Most of us had gathered around before leaving, deciding a course of action, who wanted to go where, that sort of thing. The administration split up, and I went with the Mizukage as most of the refugees had. I was looking for a sense of reality, and helping out people seemed to like the best way to get me grounded. The ship we boarded took us to Wind Country first," She remembered it quite clearly, finding it one of the more poignant circumstances she ever found herself in. Looking down at her wine glass, she briefly lost herself in her own thoughts. After that small pause and a small sip of wine, she continued, "After the kage got most of the civilians settled, I pretty much went on my own. I was hoping to look for family, though I've yet to run into such luck there. Mostly I visited small villages which were in areas that severely lacked medical resources. I stayed as long as I was needed, then moved forward,"

"I guess I was kind of looking for myself, too," she chuckled, the words leaving a funny feeling on her lips, "Kirigakure was all I'd ever known, so it took some time finding what I am when there was no village, or family, to define my role,"

[spoilername="MFT"]As her eyes passed over the titles on the fifth bookshelf, Youko noted that she found herself on the fictions section. Although once she probably would’ve devoured the whole of the shelf, back when she was still locking herself up in the main house library and had spent hours daydreaming about the adventures she’d read about in books, she found herself creasing her eyebrows deep in thought at the current selection she found in front of her. 'Never judge a book by its cover' was hardly a practice she made when it came to choosing books, even if she tried to religiously in real life. No, when it came to books, if the title couldn’t spark her interest, it would be up to the cover art.

And currently, there were hardly any winners.

She stopped for a moment and let out a quiet sigh, realizing that the reason why she couldn’t find them satisfying enough was that she didn't need an escape to an exotic desert or a mysterious island, when she was discovering exotic lands and mysterious cities every day. Heaving the mountain she was carrying, she decided to head to the reading area instead. She may as well just come back later, when she’d read her fill and was hungry for more. Maybe then the titles would look a lot more appetizing.

Having trained muscles that increased her strength made carrying the stack a breeze. Or at least, it should have been. With the place having been empty when she’d arrived, she’d been expecting that she would have the whole of it to herself. Although as soon as she felt a force preventing her from taking one step further, she realized that was evidently not the case.

The problem with carrying a tower of books taller than one’s head was that it blocked your sight. Youko hadn’t noticed anyone coming in, let alone someone she could bump into.

She let out a squeaking sound when she realized her tower was going to topple, dropping the books herself. It landed right in front of her feet, and if she hadn’t just been surprised, she probably would’ve already breathed out in relief that the weight didn’t just crush her toes. Instead, she cringed at the sight of some of them opening at the middle, landing on their pages folded in haphazard corners. Her eyes widened as she looked over the counter, the old woman looking sternly over the commotion she'd just made.

"Sorry! Sorry," she said, turning to both to the woman and to the person she just bumped into. She bowed her head profusely to each of them as she quickly dropped to her knees to clean up the mess. Thankfully, no one else had been around to see the blunder, and that seemed to help lessen the blood rushing to her cheeks. She looked up to meet the face of the man, shaking her head as she smiled slightly at him, "No, it's okay. I shouldn't have taken that many anyway. It was an accident waiting to happen. I should apologize for troubling you in the first place,"

  • Um, I don't think I received the Yen from last week's training. I make it a habit to store on hand Yen into the vault right away, so yeah, realized I didn't do that at some point the past week.

Sorry about that, I'll give you last week's along with this one.
Training approved.
