Appearance: Youko has long copper orange hair that goes down to her midback. It is usually kept away from her face with braids or a loose bun. Her blue-to-gold eyes are due to central heterochromia, which forms the gold rings around her pupils. She has lightly tanned skin with noticeable freckles across her cheeks and shoulders, and has a small chakra mark of a paper crane at the back of her left hand. When on-duty, she wears dresses under her white lab coat with a pair of doll shoes. When training or on missions, she wears a plain top with shorts and sneakers with her katana strapped to her back. Depending on the weather, she also puts on a red coat.
Personality: As a child, Youko was mostly kept to herself. Busy with her duties as a successor to her father, she spent most of her time indoors where reading had become her favorite pastime. But despite her introverted situation, she looked forward to meeting new people and always with a cheerful attitude. Although at most times reserved, Youko often loses herself in conversations, almost always talking excessively. This especially comes up during times she feels nervous, awkward, or simply embarrassed. She remains as well-mannered as she’d been brought up to be. Since her grandmother’s death, she began to prefer routines as she likes their predictability. Deciding to become a medic-nin was a choice she made to honor her grandmother, who had ingrained upon her the qualities of altruism and patience for others. She dislikes conflict and would rather make compromises in order to avoid them, but is prepared to fight for her principles. Her biggest fear is being unable to help those in need.
Trivia:

◉ She enjoys listening to classical music and had always wanted to learn to play the piano, but never got around to it.
◉ Although having worked at the hospital for years, she still finds the sterile smell disconcerting and the sight of blood unsettling.
◉ She’d lost her first patient during her mednin exam.
◉ Her favorite snack is dango, particularly goma.
[spoilername="History"]The Kawazoe clan was spread throughout, thriving particularly within Kirigakure. With shady clients in no small numbers but in lesser known circles they remain unheard of to the general populace. Their expertise in the field of weaponry dates back to when it had once been a great shinobi clan. Crafting and maintaining one’s own arsenal was a skill that members were pressed to learn. Master smiths forged weapons from only the finest of materials, a practice upheld to the present, making the clan one of the greater arms dealers around. However, when traitors and rogues began to taint the noble profession, members were discouraged from entering the practice and were forced to retire. The elders did what they could to hide the clan’s lineage and soon it was only talked about behind closed doors.
Generations later, Youko grew up in an ordinary household. As the only child of the head of the clan, most of her childhood was spent in training to become the successor. Her knowledge of shinobi were secondhand from the neighborhood children and resigned to a fate of becoming the next leader for the clan, she barely thought of it as a viable path to take. That is, until the death of her grandmother. It happened when she was seven. Youko and her grandmother were on their way home from grocery shopping when they came across a fleeing rogue-nin. Despite being mere innocent passersby, he attacked them, leaving them out to die in the rain as he escaped. Although help came quickly, her grandmother’s heart failed on the way to the hospital. She herself had barely made it. As her grandmother had been someone she considered a best friend to her, the news of her death left Youko shaken and devastated.
She was livid at the rogue, but had felt guilty for being unable to do something to help her grandmother. As soon as she was released from the hospital, Youko productively spent her time locked up in the main house’s expansive library. Here she eventually came across an old, tattered book burnt around some edges that opened her eyes to the clan’s history the previous elders were so desperate to hide. This was when becoming a shinobi had grown from being mere stories in her childhood into a real goal she wanted to achieve. Her reason for pursuing it was simple: to become a person who could protect and defend the people she cared about. However, a small part of her had always wanted to hunt down the rogue out of revenge.
It took a while before she was able to convince the elders to allow her enroll into the academy, creating tension with some of the elders who were strongly opposed to the idea. Not only did it sound like a decision a ten year old made on a whim, they did not want the sole heir to run off and potentially kill herself before her father could even pass on the clan’s leadership to her. To settle the argument, Youko’s great grandfather established a compromise that allowed her to pursue her goal, but she would also have to continue being primed to become the head of the clan. Despite signing up at the academy for classes, and eventually deciding to go into the medical field, most of the elders continued to look down on her. However, they did celebrate her successes when it came, presenting her a white tamahagane katana that became one of her prized possessions.
As a medic, Youko thrived inside the hospital, skillfully rising in rank and becoming one of the well-known medic-nins around the village. Her work at the hospital eventually allowed her to let go of wanting to extract vengeance on the rogue. Believing that karma had taken care of the rogue, she had been completely floored when he showed up in her life again. And for the second time in her life, she narrowly missed death by his hands. The disturbance he created seemed to only be for show, and that he only wanted to make it known he was still alive and well. This solidified her resolve to take care of him herself. She promised that once he found her again, she was going to be ready.[/spoilername]
