Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Weapons Mastery - Unarmed [WC: 100]
Kimiko was a master of weapons! Well, not especially; actually, not at all. She was sub-par, even compared to the Academy Students she had worked with. Rather, she mastered how to use weapons defensively: she knew how to throw herself at an attack to mitigate how badly she'd be injured. All she needed was herself; she didn't need to rely on any kind of weapon. Her mastery of unarmed taijutsu came from the complete lack of: the need to protect her face in combat. If she couldn't do that, well, she wouldn't be surviving much longer in the world. Word.

Deflection and Defensive Stance - WC: 212
A barrage of projectiles: kunai when she was closer, followed quickly by a flurry of arrows; to say that Kimiko's escape from Cloud was entirely unnoticed would have been a lie. Perhaps a lie to herself -- not that it mattered; what few people were on guard were more than well aware and were trying to take her down before she was too far escaped.

Offensive battle wasn't her forte: rather, she could much more efficiently defend herself. She was moving like mad, dashing like a mad hare among the projectiles. Carefully and swiftly evading each of the items well before they would've hit.

Well, it may've been more accurate to say she evaded most: there were a few that, in an effort to evade another, she put herself directly in front of. Quicker movement made what may have been a debilitating blow into little more than a scratch. Nothing that would hinder nor kill her. A few times, she managed to, while dodging one of the projectiles, grab it; had she need for it, sending it flying back at those attacking her would not have been a difficult task.

Deflecting what was sent at her and defending herself at what couldn't be deflected was how she fought. It was how she survived.

Wind Style - WC: 104
As a child, she was one with fire. Being forced to suppress that aspect of herself locked away the potential she had with it; sure, she could still use fire ninjutsu, more or less, but she found greater affinities with other elements: Medical, Lightning, and, above all others, Wind. Wind was her best in terms of offensive battle: she learned; she honed; she became adept at it, learning the most optimal way, eventually, to channel the element into her very way of fighting. She determined how to utilize it in her defensive style. And it finally came to her: the Jutsu Style of Wind.

Duelist - WC: 101
She glared at the cards in her hand: all useless. She was playing a card game within Cloud's library; it was a simple game that was a growing fad. She had been challenged by one of those village "protagonist" types who thought they were doing their best and had taglines like "Dattebayo!" The board was in his control and this was the last card she'd be able to draw; if it wasn't anything useful, she'd lose immediately.

She had to believe in the heart of the cards. She DID believe in the heart of the cards!

And it proved a success.

Initiative - WC: 114
She was fast; she knew when to react, and how, despite not working in the field -- they had to have everyone trained for any kind of situation back in the village -- but so were plenty of people; hell, some of the aces of the Main and ANBU branches could outpace her, making her seem as slow as the people who seemed slow in comparison to her, not that that changed the fact. She had to know how to take advantages of anything in order to gain whatever few seconds she could. If she couldn't, when she actually had to prove herself to whomever, she'd fail.

She intended for that to never be the case.

Elemental Illusion - Lightning - WC: 139
Illusion: it was a ridiculous art, even among shinobi who utilized it for battle. There were some who thought it was a viable fighting style entirely on its own; a great deal of others thought it best when augmented with other fighting styles: a combination of illusion and taijutsu to ensure the enemy would never be able to successfully flee from their fist; genjutsu and ninjutsu together to make the burns from the Fire element feel like the fires of hell.

She thought it best as an augment on its own. Genjutsu was a utility much like poison on a dagger. It was helpful in that it could disable the enemy, making whatever you would be that much easier. For that, she learned how to paralyze the body of an enemy with the essence of Lightning in her genjutsu.

Acrobatics - WC: 131
Before learning how to mitigate damage, before even learning how to properly use chakra, she learned to dodge things coming at her -- why wouldn't she? Isn't that a natural reaction? The idea of "dodge to avoid damage" was an obvious thing for most people; there were the few people who seemed to enjoy it or didn't care about it and kept charging forward, but Kimiko wasn't among those ranks; in the Academy, the jutsu "Body Switch" was taught.

Since then, she was able to learn plenty more: in battle, she'd have no difficulty dodging any and everything that would be charged at her. Not in the childish manner that she had first learned, but in a more professional, flashy way where she could use a jutsu technique to evade the attack.

Fearless - WC: 111
Despite her seemingly fleeting nature and aversion to damage, like all other trained shinobi, she wasn't afraid to look fear in its metaphorical face. If she needed to, she could stand in a line, taking whatever abuse was required -- that's why she made herself not needed to: she knew perfectly well of her capability to do so, but who would want to? It was in her nature to avoid being hurt, so if she could, she would do whatever she could to do so. In this case, in the case she couldn't avoid the damage, she'd take it as best as she could and stare the source in its face.

Shatter Reality - WC: 104
There is a reality. And there is the reality that can be created in Genjutsu: a more ideal world -- though, ideal for the caster of the illusion, rarely is it anything good for the victim -- one can weave and entrance and ultimately ensnare a victim within. And just when they become accustomed to their new hell, you can break it. Shatter it. Destroy it. You destroy the world they know, the world they thought they would be stuck in. You can break their mind with it; you can hurt them in a way taijutsu or ninjutsu may never do.

You can shatter their minds.

Willpower - WC: 101
She had the power. She could persevere. Even through the worst an enemy had to offer! She could force herself to fight through any kind of enemy, even if her fighting wasn't the most direct kind: what she was referring to was Genjutsu. It was her specialty; she had to know it, everything about it. And because of such, she forced herself to be assaulted for days upon days in training. She forced herself to break free from any illusion, even if she was not actively aware she was under one. She had the will to overcome anything. She had Willpower.

Shinobi 101 - Ninjutsu (Mirror) - WC: 123
Her fighting style was the most indirect: she could dip and dodge most things the enemy could throw. But it was just that: most. If she was still taking hits while having to concentrate on attacking the enemy's mental state, she was going to lose. She couldn't take the time to learn to be the hyper-aggressive fighter that her peers was; she was already too far gone to go back and conform. She learned of an element she could harness, not like the fire she had known as a child, but one that resembled her own way of combat. She learned she could reflect and deflect the few things that made it past her natural dexterity. She learned the ways of the Mirror.
