[col]A coincidence that you looked like her from afar
Kimi has long black hair, barely brushing against the back of her knees.
It’s mostly straight, though the fewest waves could be seen through the length.
Her hair is trimmed short in the front, creating a partial veil over her sparkling blue eyes.
She has a strangely piercing gaze that gives most the impression that she looks through
them instead of at them. She stand at a modest 4’10”, her thin frame giving
her an almost fragile appearance, though nobody would be stupid enough to tell her
that. Her muscles lean but strong due to spending much of her childhood exploring
the terrain in and around Iwa. Her wardrobe consists of nothing but black, causing
her skin to look paler than it actually is. Her typical clothing covers the vast majority
of her body, the only skin showing would be her face, and her fingers, slightly calloused
from years of working with her violin. If one didn’t know better, they would think her
a younger version of her mother.
At least, that's how she had appeared her whole life growing up. Now, she's stepping
a little outside her comfort zone. Her glasses may have broken, the small wire frames
no longer necessary, though she has gotten them anew. While they were once a source
of constant frustration, now they stand as a sort of ironic statement that she isn't
the same girl she once was. Despite all of her self-esteem problems coming from her
upbringing, as well as her newfound blindness, she's developed a sense of self accomplishment
that she's always had hiding beneath the surface, but has just begun to emerge, leading
her to walk a little taller - though it doesn't help with her short stature.
Is it what you just tell everyone?
Strong-willed and determined to a fault, once Kimi sets her mind on doing something,
she’ll never stop until it’s done. An only child, Kimi developed a sense of independence
at an incredibly young age. She dislikes asking others for help, though it is an acceptable
alternative to death. She has a rather independent definition of teamwork, seeing it as
the sort of thing where each person has a specific job that, while may benefit the larger
plan, can be completed independently of the rest of the team. Despite her preference to
do things alone, Kimi has a strong sense of friendship and loyalty. While slow to make
friends, those that she considers her friends are such for life. Kimi has always had a strong
passion for music, which fueled much of her passion for other things. Such passion seemed
to disappoint her father in ways she couldn’t even begin to understand. Her father’s love
of combat encouraged her interest in it as well. She tries incredibly hard to please her
father by reaching for being the best she could.
Since joining the academy, Kimi has grown immensely. While she will always have that
slightly timid, stubborn nature, she has begun to realize that she can do a lot more with
loyal friends at her back. Her confidence in her own abilities shaken, she's begun to
look to her newfound friends for support in the hardest of times. Even so, she's slowly
re-learning that those things that others call weaknesses are really her strengths. She's
become more bold, confident in her abilities to work as a part of her team.|

Everything else is irrelevant to the story so far
Mother dying in childbirth, Kimi was raised without a motherly figure to guide her. The only
thing connecting the child to the woman she never knew was her music. The music seemed
to stem from Kimi’s very soul, connecting her to everything and everyone she came in
contact with. The joy she felt should have been a relief to her father, not having to worry
about her reaction to not having a mother, but instead it spurned his disproval. Even so,
she continued, finding a sort of peace through it that nobody else seemed to understand.
While doing so, she tried to earn the approval of her father by finding enjoyment in what
he was passionate about. It was partly that reason that Kimi made the decision to go to the
academy. She knew she could never be the child her father wanted without going somewhere
that she could learn the things she needed to know, a place she knew would bring her
closer to teleos.
Since joining the academy, Kimi has had her fair share of adventures. From the very first day,
she found herself making friends. With an inside joke already forming, and a promise of
missions together, she and Hoshokurai Kei began a friendship that could only get better
from there. Her journey towards Teleos began with an impromptu meeting
with one Yukata Souji - a man who would later become her mentor, and like an older
brother to her. Their meeting was fated by the gods, so Kimi figures, and has led to
many interesting things. Shortly later, a rather routine mission
turned into something much more. Finding herself with abilities she hadn't thought possible, Kimi
set out to work even harder towards her goals. That was all brought
to the forefront during the Student Tournament where, despite
all odds, Kimi managed to come out on top. She managed to make a few other
friends along the way, even managing to tease Souji in the
process. That'll teach him to send a blind girl a letter.
Meanwhile, Kimi still managed to keep up in her studies. She took a class on Genjutsu
that proved to be not only informative, but a start to an unexpected friendship between herself,
and the young teacher, Hatsuharu Katsu. Soon after, she took two other classes, both geared
towards her skills. She took a Guardian class under the patient, although
admittedly grumpy, eye of her teacher and mentor, Yukata Souji. She also took a class on Stealth taught by
Yukata Yuki, a family member of Souji. With those out of the way, she met the requirements to take
her exam, and move forward in the Shinobi world. She passed the
exam after an unexpected turn, working with her companions and teammates Chi and Kei, and
jumped forth in the ranks to earn the title of Guardian of Silence.
Kimi also spent some time in private study with Souji, unlocking the secrets of her new
Bird Summon. She also had a run-in with a rather eccentric mednin, Akiyama Kazuhiko.
All in all, Kimi's rise from Student to Guardian was full of adventure and intrigue.[/col]
