Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Shiori leaned forward, brushing her hair back from her eyes as she studied the diagram in front of her. Piles of scrolls and texts were spread across the table, crammed in at her elbows and forming an effective sight barrier from the rest of the room. She frowned, tracing her fingertip along the dull-red pulmonary system the text was describing in detail. It was complicated, digging beneath muscle and bone to grasp the twisting rivers of blood, and yet her fascination only grew the more she read. It had been a passing comment by Fumiko-sensei that had spurred this impromptu study, almost an aside really, when the older woman had mentioned that precision could outperform raw strength. Shiori hadn’t understood, at first, but as she poured over these medical texts it began to slot into place. Why hit a wall head-on when you could first find the weakest point?

Quick Reaction
Some shinobi are able to move and react at a quicker pace than others. Because of this trait, the user is more skilled in hand to hand combat, knowing that by moving in close to attack, the enemy has left themselves vulnerable for a moment, giving them a window of opportunity for a more precise strike.

Information
Prerequisites: D-Rank

Effect: If the user dodges an attack, the user may declare a jutsu to be used as a counterattack against the attacker at +1 Accuracy/DC. The user pays all costs normally.

Notes:
- This includes Basic Strikes / Called Shots (They are a part of Taijutsu).
- This action is modded immediately after the attack they dodged, can only target the attacker, and cannot be a bind.
- This can only occur twice per round and may not be used in conjunction with the Teamwork ability.
- An Ally can not set off the effects of quick reaction.
- The user can not quick react and target multiple people, but may still use an AoE technique on a single target.
Tama-kun barreled towards her, his face shuttered and grim as the larger student rammed one bulky shoulder into Shiori’s chest. The pain was immediate, a star-burst as her breath shot from her lungs, and Shiori went sprawling to the cold floor. She lay there gasping weakly as Tama glared at her supine form, his face remote despite the faint twitch to his jaw. Stumbling back to her feet, Shiori wrapped a cautious hand around her stomach, defensive and wary as she flinched at the boy’s renewed approach. Tama-kun came in close, reaching as if to clobber her, and Shiori spun neatly to the side while snapping a chambered kick to his inner knee. The blow connected with a solid thwack and Tama-kun went milk-white, sinking to the ground to grasp at his kneecap. From above, Shiori let her hand drop, nodding politely to the downed boy as she walked uninjured to the sidelines.

Shattered Reality
As proficient as they are to tricking their foes to fall for their illusions, they can take away their illusions in a snap of a finger. Such action distorts the minds of their prey, mixing in reality and fiction within their selves and inflicting severe mental trauma in the process.

Information
Prerequisites: C-Rank, Must have mastered 3 Genjutsu

Effect: The user may choose to Shatter a Genjutsu which they are maintaining that is active on an opponent. This requires an Attack Roll against the targeted opponent using the user's Genjutsu DC against the target's Genjutsu Save and causes them to suffer 750 / 1,500 / 2,250 / 2,650 / 3,000 / 3,375 Illusionary Damage if the user succeeds. Shattering a Genjutsu costs 0.5 AP, CP equal to 10% of the shattered Genjutsu's initiation cost and immediately ends the shattered Genjutsu regardless of the success of the user's Attack Roll.

Notes:
- Illusionary Damage inflicted by Shatter scales on Rank E / D / C / B / A / S.
Tension sat heavy across her shoulders, a dull ache spreading from her neck to the base of her skull. Shiori grit her teeth, pushing past the signs of exhaustion to focus once more on her task. Familiar seals flashed through her hands, chakra pooling at her belly before slipping the leash. She spread it out, an invisible caul, like dandelion seeds floating on the wind – until, there! The Genjutsu caught, her target stilling. With a ruthlessness she wasn’t entirely proud of, Shiori waited for the mental hooks to snare before sniping the threads. Almost immediately the Genjutsu broke, shattering to pieces as the lovely scene retreated, her target left with whip-lash. Shiori bit her cheek, studying the other student. The glazed look in their eyes had faded, but it wasn’t enough. She needed to be prepared, to master this and thereby control the flow of battle. Ripping an established illusion away was just another way of keeping her targets on their toes.

Economizer:
Economizer
People like to economize space for maximum storage space and usability. However, these guys know HOW to economize the space to the fullest, wasting nothing and getting every little inch of use possible.

Information
Prerequisites: D-Rank

Effect:
- The user has +1 Inventory Slot.
- The user chooses one of the following; Tool, Poison, or Trap. All Consumable items of the chosen type gain +1 usage.
The thin cloth worked perfectly to nestle her more vulnerable tools in place, doing double duty as she rolled it into a small cylinder which Shiori then tucked into her sleeve. She paused, holding one arm out rigid, and made a few more adjustments until the small packet was placed to her satisfaction. The ninja art of concealment had always come easier to Shiori than many other day-to-day concerns. Perhaps it was because she had been working to store important items on her person since childhood, long since over the hassle and irritation of carrying a bag with her at all times. Her priorities had shifted from dedication to a simple aesthetic to making sure her weight was equally distributed, but the concepts remained the same. To test her newest addition, Shiori began swinging her arms around. Rotating first at the shoulder joint and moving to the elbow, trying to find where her kit might come loose or otherwise impede with her range of motion. Finally satisfied, she tugged once at her sleeves to straighten-up.

Fearless
Many people fear death above all else, but the shinobi who embraces death as a simple part of the career, they find they have nothing to fear. Without the fear of death itself, there is nothing to fear at all or so the user of this ability feels. They do not fear pain or dying and thus do not fear anyone or anything.

Information:
Prerequisites: C-Rank

Effect:
- +10% Damage Reduction to all Damage types (includes Illusionary)
- -1 to Evasion and Gen Save.
Shiori spit, a gob of blood splattering on the rocky scree as she straightened back up. Probing her teeth with her tongue, she was pretty sure one molar was loose and not actually coming out. It’d be fine, in the long run. The thirteen-year old grinned, her flashing teeth smeared with crimson as her attacker hung back. It had been a heavy punch, and maybe her sparring partner thought they’d gone too far. For all that her head was ringing faintly Shiori couldn’t help but focus on her next moves unconcernedly.

She never liked pain, but it wasn’t a surprise, either. The other students liked to joke about her social status, prodding for social weaknesses, but there was something appealing to the whole theory. She was like a rusty kunai, crawling up out of the mud. Not the best, really. But iron could oxidize all it wanted, could melt and twist and warp under outside tensions – and it would still never lose its weight, never crumble like the softer metals. Shiori had long since rationalized that life held pain whether you wished it or not. She could only control her own reactions to the hand fate dealt her. So, she chose not to complain, to take her beat-up rusty nature as a strength, a sign that she would overcome. The world could melt her down to her base components, forge her anew again and again, and she would keep hurtling towards the target without a backwards glance. Wiping blood from her chin, Shiori grinned wider at her opponent and closed the gap.
