Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.
Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.
Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.
The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.
The sun was at its apex when Raiden arrived at the gates of his former village. Cherry blossoms fell from the trees around him; they brought him back to a time when things were simpler, when things were less stressful and he had a family, but then the cruse struck the village. He had to send them away, he alone knew he would be able to survive the harsh environment, but he couldn't live with himself knowing that his family was killed trying to defend a village that was already on the brink of destruction. Why did he have to live a life when he had no earthly idea if the ones he held dear and protected were even alive, but none of that matters; because the one who helped create his family was no more.
It had felt like it was just yesterday that he was teaching Kouin the way of the shinobi, all while sipping tea with his dear of a wife; he couldn't' have been more proud of how quickly his prodigy of a son advanced. He was absorbing all the information like a sponge, he couldn't have asked for anything else from a son. Even though he could go on for decades of painful reminiscing, now was a time of moving forward, one foot at a time.
He stared down the heavenly doors of Kumogakure, the gates forged from the spine of the wind spirit that his ancestor slayed, and eventually brought civility to Lightning Country, or so the lore goes. He approached a post that had poster pinned onto it; it brought no surprise to him to see his face on a wanted poster, I don't know how they'd feel about a missing shinobi of twenty plus years strolling up, but how bad could it be? He let out a light chuckle as he laid out a heavy knock on the Gates. Hello, anyone home?
[table=100,null][thead][tr=textleft][th=50,null]The Chronicles of Kyo-Moon[/th][th=50,null]Related Information[/th][/tr][/thead][tbody][tr=bg2][td=null,1]Kyo and Dakota were summoned by the gate-guard to perform a standard gate-greeting procedure. The red-haired man appeared in a drab blue-colored coat with a fluffy collar. Accompanying him was a large dire-wolf with a strange, floating disc hovering over it's back. The day was crisp with his breath and words being visible by steam coming from his lips. A lone-man was there in front of the gate. As Kyo drew closer, something sparked in his memory. Something about this guy looked familiar. The two, Dakota and Kyo, split paths with the massive wolf making her way towards Raiden and taking a seat directly in front of the man. The wolf stood at 6'2" from paw to head, giving Raiden, the visitor, a cold glare. At this time, Kyo went to the guard shack and asked for the wanted posters. He flipped through the various wanted posters until he came upon one that said 'Kaze Raiden'. Without requesting permission from the guards, he took the paper with him.[lb2][/lb2]
Taking the paper out with him, he made his way next to Dakota, directly in front of the man and looked down at the paper and then back up to him and then back down at the paper. "You do realize you are wanted, right? You either have some REALLY big balls or you have a reason for entering here," he said as he looked down at the paper and slowly stated the man's name "Ka....zi.... Ray.....den" he said. His ability to read was awful but it was good enough to get by. "Give me your reason for coming here. You're also going to have to prepare yourself for transport to the prison as well," Kyo said. The fact that this man was a wanted criminal must mean he was a powerful one -- one that he wasn't prepared to deal with. Even with Dakota by his side, someone of his calibur might result in Kyo's death and Kyo wasn't ready to die just yet; not until he sorted his familial issues. [lb2][/lb2]
Kyo tapped the side of his head, mic'ing himself into the ANBU frequency. "Calling all units, calling all units; We have a wanted criminal by the name of Kazi Rayden," he said mis-pronouncing the man's name due to his very limited reading abilities. "at the gates at the moment. Requesting backup," Kyo said, not even hiding the fact that he made the call out for back-up against this heinous criminal, Raiden. Kyo doesn't even know what Raiden did, but with the S-Class classification, he knew he couldn't handle this by himself.

He expected Cloud's anbu to be up to a certain stature, but it really didn't take them long to even meet him at the gates. He bowed politely to the man the greeted him, even if he started off harshly, but it was what he expected after all. Greetings young one. Thank you for the taking the time to meet an Elder at the village gates. He would hand the man over he's passport, just so he could clearly verify is identity is in fact who he stated he was. He took the sword at his side and laid it on the ground and kicked it over towards the anbu as a sign of civility. Wanted, yes. But do you realize for how long? Two decades. The real crime is the lack of follow up the supposed allies of Kumogakure. If the village truly cared about my sudden disappearance, they would've called out to all the neighboring villages, no? Hes eyes darted back to the poster. It was clearly worn and tattered, and had been up for quite some time.
He sized the man up and down, he couldn't have been any older than twenty, but he knew looks could be deceiving, Back when the Hidden Mist Village was a powerhouse in the shinobi world, Kiri and Kumo shared an alliance, and per agreement of said alliance, Kiri should've turned me over to the hands of Kumo once they received word from them about my details. Though that obviously never happened since I was in Kirigakure up until its great fall. He took a seat down on the ground in front of the boy.
Even considering the rank I held when I vanished, any and all information I had at the time would be poorly out of date right now. I highly doubt Masao is Vice-Commander still, and I also doubt Ryuuto is Anbu Sennin or Kage, my memory can be a little spotty in my age. He stared at Kyo humbly in the eyes, So the only crime I'm truly a accountable for is making the proper decision as a human to raise a family.
He stood from the ground with a sudden gusto. Let me ask you this child. If you were faced with my predicament. Choosing between something you've devoted your life to or something you've given life to. Which you have chosen? He wasn't sure he'd be able to speak his way out of this because at the end of the day he was still technically a criminal, but maybe he could talk some sense into the boy. My son is/was a highly trained Anbu specialist. When Mist was falling apart I sent him here to Kumogakure with my two children. I will go peacefully infront of the Kage and make right by my deeds, but ask of a Kaze Kouin. Please.
[table=100,null][thead][tr=textleft][th=50,null]The Chronicles of Kyo-Moon[/th][th=50,null]Related Information[/th][/tr][/thead][tbody][tr=bg2][td=null,1]At least this person was polite with his bow. That was, until he spoke out. The man didn't look too much older than he did and was still calling Kyo 'young one'. He eyeballed the man for a brief moment before hearing buzzing in his ears. The words spoken by Raiden sounded like buzzing as he continued to speak. It wasn't Kyo's problem that the village screwed up; that's solely the village's fault. That wasn't something Kyo was going to take any fault for. If what this man said was true, he had been missing for longer than he had been alive. "If you've been gone for THAT long, then that isn't my fault," he said as he shook the paper with Raiden's likeness on it. "I'm just going off of what this paper has. I don't know what you did, nor do I really care. This thing says you're a criminal so that's good enough for me," Kyo said. He didn't particularly care about Raiden's plight in this instance nor will his way of speaking really sway him as he didn't care. He knows the paper said he was a bad guy so he's going to act upon it.[lb2][/lb2]
The moment he started talking about Kirigakure was when the buzzing sound got louder and louder, causing Kyo to stick a finger in his ear as if to fish something out, believing the buzzing was something physically bothering him; something that infiltrated his ear to make this sound happen. Again, this was something that Kyo didn't give a damn about. Certainly it was history, but it all happened before he was born and thought that everything he was hearing was the man padding for time. he started listing off names of people he had no idea of causing Kyo to give the man an empty look. Kyo wasn't brought into ANBU conventionally; brought in through exams and raised to know the chain of command. He was brought in by an ANBU member who probably, not confirmed yet, worked for a criminal cabal attempting to overthrow the government. That was all speculation, but it seemed more fitting than Kyo living in desolation for the last 4 years. He just worked for someone who didn't actually work for the current administration. It was at this time that he subconsciously grabbed the passport and read through it the best he could. He matched the name and face with what he already knew, folding it up and holding onto it for a moment. [lb2][/lb2]
"I don't know anything about the ANBU, so I don't know any of those people," he said, readjusting the Cloud headband upon his forehead. He wasn't in ANBU attire nor did he make any allusions to being a part of ANBU. He left his communication, even with the ANBU (over the headset), vague on-purpose. How this man brought up ANBU was beyond him. Him mentioning that his 'only crime' was trying to raise a family caused his left eye to twitch. While the predicament posed to him was something he couldn't relate to, having been forced to kill his parents for his own survival, he could somewhat understand the man's position. Even-so, it didn't excuse his previous behaviors to be marked as a criminal.[lb2][/lb2]
"I wouldn't know. I don't have children. But if my child were to betray the pack, then I'd smack some sense into the idiot," he said, using the word 'pack' as if to signify the village. "The needs of the pack far out-weigh the selfish need of one," Kyo simply stated. While he held no loyalty to the village as a whole, he was integrated into the 'pack' called Kumogakure. Whether he liked it or not, this was his new(old) home. Then information came in about his son having fled from Kirigakure while it was falling causing the man to let out a sigh. He clicked the side of his head to activate his headset and spoke into it. "Calling Kaze Kouin, calling Kaze Kouin, your father is here at the gates," he said before removing his hand from the side of his head. [lb2][/lb2]
"You still haven't answered my question: Why are you here?" he said. The man didn't outright answer Kyo and this is starting to make the primitive man more and more annoyed, which will make him more and more aggressive. [lb2][/lb2]
It took Kyo a moment to realize that the man kicked his blade over towards him. He reached down to pick up the weapon and inspected it. He couldn't tell what was fine craftsmanship or not, but he does know that it looked better than any of the rusted, primitive choppers that he used back in the day. He reached over and placed the blade into the direwolf's mouth. The creature clamped down on it firm enough to hold the blade and not shatter it. Shattering the blade would certainly NOT be of his best interest.

Kouin was lying in his hospital bed when he heard a loud buzzing coming from his headset >Calling Kaze K-in, repeat calling Kaze Kouin< He groaned loudly as it had been the first time he had actually got to sleep a decent amount. Appearently something was going down at the gates and his presence was being requested. Moving was the last thing he wanted to do after the incident with The Nine challenge, he had gone a bit overboard in the challenge but he wasn't going to let that keep him down. He threw on his clothes and sat down in his wheelchair and buzzed for Osu to assist him in getting to the gates.
He wondered what he was needed at the gates for, its been awhile since someone he's known as come to the gates, but it wasn't far fetched for it to happen. Well Osu, I guess we'll see who it is when we get there. He shrugged as they continued through the village; he realized he never too the chance to admire how the city of kumogakure looked, he was always holed up in his office in the anbu HQ, staying away from prying eyes, but the city was quite nice to look at.
They had finally reached the gates, now it was time to see what awoke him from his slumber. Open the gates. The gates rolled open slowly, at first glance he noticed one of the anbu operatives Kyo doing usual gate duty, but the second sight that caught his eyes was a shocking one, his eyes narrowed to slits to make sure he wasn't being deceived, but their was no hiding the truth from him. So... He waved Osu off the handles and wheeled himself closer to the two, You finally decided to rejoin the land of the living, Father?
He had to give the boy props for listening to an old man go on on about the golden days and how things were done back in his day, but he had to know where everything originated from. Now I never did blame you, in fact you can't possibly be at fault, you were nary a wee lamb when all this transpired, or maybe not even a lamb yet, but it's the fault of the government and the people who throw up useless bounties without any notion of following up on it. That's what's at fault. Young people these days always thought the fault fell on them for what their predecessors did, but this wasn't the case.
That surprised him, the man handled himself like he'd expect any new anbu operative, but what anbu would actually say they were one? A dumb one, that's who, so Raiden would go along with the charade, but he didn't buy it, I assure you my son would have made a big enough impact on the village that everyone would know who he was, not just anbu.
Betrayal all depends on what side of the fence you sit on. On one side I stay with the village and I betray my kin, my true blood. Or on the other hand I leave to be with my kin and betray my village. Betrayal isn't black and white young one, there are shades of grey in between that must be examined, but from my time in Kumogakure, they don't quite teach the shades of grey like other places, so again I cannot fault you here again. He shook his head in disappointment, You have much to learn between selfless and selfish. You don't know what it means to be selfless till you have children of your own, till then you are only speaking ignorance.
He listened to the man call out his son's name over his headset, he was sure his son's sense of duty would bring him here, but what would he do once confronted with him? It had been such a long time. It would probably be a little awkward to be honest, but he would figure it out when he arrived. Ah right, your question, my apologies, an old man can just ramble and ramble without much thought. His eyes gazed up at the sky for a moment, Being catalyzed in ice for decades gives you a lot of time to think about the actions you've committed to. Now I don't regret my choices, but I am one to make right by my choices. So in short. I am here to find redemption. Plain and sim- Before he could finish his sentence the gates began to pull open.
His eyes were always quick, even in his age they were as sharp as ever, and though he might be in a wheelchair he could recognize his son from a quarter mile away without an issue. I had a feeling you'd find your way to the clouds my son.
Kouin stopped the chair right next to Kyo, So what seems to be the situation here?
Ayumu had been alerted of a commotion at the gates a while back. It hadn't taken too long for a few of the gate guards to recognize Raiden. After all, his image had been posted at the gates for as long as most of them could remember, even if nobody really knew who he was exactly. When Ayumu heard who it was at the gates, his mind focused first on the family name- the same as Kouin's and then secondly on recalling that the man at the gates was technically a wanted man in Kumogakure. "Raiden... who would actually name their son after a deity? That's just asking to fuck with their head later on," Ayumu mused to himself as he stood from his desk. Of course, the more interesting question was why the hell would he come back?
Ayumu pondered this as he headed towards the gates hastily. The man called Raiden had gotten away consequence free. The posters that remained at the gates were for show more than anything. Most had assumed the man was simply long gone or dead. There weren't any reports of a skirmish at the gates, just that the man had come and requested to speak with his son and also apparently had intentions to talk to the Raikage. Kouin had already been called and would likely arrive first. Was it just a matter of a man seeking to reunite with his son? This was bound to be awkward.
Ayumu arrived in time to see the gates being opened for Kouin who rolled through the gap to see his father. Ayumu hustled to catch up and slipped through just after Kouin, leaning against the gates as he gave the father a once over. Kouin, interestingly, chose to direct his first words to the ANBU rather than to his own father. Ayumu glanced at the man who had been stricken to a wheelchair after an accident during the preliminaries for the tournament in Tea. How did it feel to see his father, a wanted criminal in Kumogakure, standing there after years? He returned his gaze to Raiden.
"I'm curious as well. Why would you come back here?" Ayumu asked, his question pointed towards the older man. "Kogami Ayumu. I wouldn't expect you to know me, of course... I'm the current Raikage," Ayumu followed up, introducing himself. He wasn't entirely certain how this was going to go next. He doubted the man had come to turn himself in. Ayumu wasn't even certain what he would do himself, presented with this shinobi from an age past. A shinobi whose son was now a former Sennin of Kumogakure.
“Calling Kaze Kouin, calling Kaze Kouin, your father is here at the gates.”
Kahako’s head whipped up from the buzzing noise in her ear. Honestly, she left her headset on by mistake. Maybe it was Shinbatsu guiding her that lead to her unusual forgetfulness. Or maybe is was the influence Sakada now held over her mind. No matter the reason, after seconds of processing what exactly was said, Kahako stood abruptly and made paces toward the wing of the hospital that housed long-term patients.
She already knew before she opened his door that Kouin decided to answer the call to the gates, despite his clear inability to handle whatever was there should the situation turn nasty. Silence filled the hospital room as she stared at an empty, messied bed. The machines he had been hooked up to were off, indicating that one of the staff assisted him in his escape. “That idiot.” she muttered as her temper flared.
Fine. If the ANBU had a death sentence, who was she to stop him from meeting his maker? Stomping her way back to her office with as much elegance as she could muster under her current foul mood, she sat down at her desk, fully prepared to ignore the call and get back to work. Minutes passed before she realized her foot was tapping furiously. A chuckle at the back of her mind wafted lazily through her skull, causing the mednin to stand up and begin pacing her room.
Sakada found great humor as Kahako warred with her temper and her steadfast morals to protect members of Kumogakure. Her opinions over the man grew to a whole new level of complicated, after she learned of his actions during the preliminaries. She was among the privileged few to know the truth of what happened, and she probably only knew because she was one of the mednin who wheeled his body out of the arena. With a growl that was unusual for the woman, she grabbed her Sentou mask and slipped it on before darting out the window and towards the gates.
The large wooden doors closed before she had a chance to slip through, so she scaled the structure to stand at the top among the other sentries who warily viewed what was happening down below. Seeing Osu, Kouin, and a third shinobi who’s name she did not know, Kahako held back, seeing no need to directly engage.
However, her shoulders visibly tensed when she heard Ayumu’s question. Shinbatsu was guiding her, she decided, as her eyes glued themselves to the tell-tale messy black hair of her husband standing near the walls of the gates. Crouching on the edge, it took every bit of willpower within her to not immediately jump down next to him. The urge to protect what was hers nearly overwhelming as she forced herself to remember that the only person in any real danger in this situation was probably Kouin.
“Sparrow reporting in. Awaiting orders,” she called into the headset. All three Kumo men would know the shared call sign of the medical branch members whose sole focus was on assisting ANBU, but only Kouin and Ayumu would recognize the voice. Green eyes shifted to the man in the wheelchair, glaring daggers into the back of his head and not liking one bit how close he was to the man that was supposedly his father. She also didn’t like how far he was from the gate. The temperature around her dropped as her mood swung deeper, causing the sentries nearest her to shift uncomfortably, wondering why this Sentou Henkan member was so pissed after only just arriving on the scene.
[table=100,null][thead][tr=textleft][th=50,null]The Chronicles of Kyo-Moon[/th][th=50,null]Related Information[/th][/tr][/thead][tbody][tr=bg2][td=null,1]
The old fart continued to ramble as Kyo's face turned more and more downward as his words kept flying out of his lips. The look of perpetual boredom started to be clearly evident as the man continued to spew more 'wiser-than-thou' things out of his mouth. The talk of family and family-ties still didn't sway him, nor did it interest him much. His complicated relationship with his own family didn't help Raiden's plea for empathy from the wild-ling. "When a wolf does something against the pack, even if it was a selfish reasoning, do you think the wolf would be let back in to the pack? No. The only reason a wolf would return to the pack is to become alpha," Kyo stated as he hinted at his beliefs that Raiden might be here for malicious purposes. "or if they have no other alternative than to return with their tail between their legs or die alone."
[lb2][/lb2]
Kyo knew what betrayal felt like and even materialized the idea of betrayal with the faces of his family members; those who no longer wanted him because he was born as a 'freak' to them. Betrayal is what happens when you love someone or put your trust in someone and they ruin it whether through political, social, or personal reasons. The reason, itself, wasn't enough for Kyo to accept the words of what he deemed to be a traitor to his home. Whether Raiden's home (or pack) was Kumogakure or not, he still betrayed his pack to pursue a selfish desire. Perhaps if he had stayed, Kirigakure wouldn't be in the frigid state it's in; perhaps he would've died and his staying wouldn't have mattered in the slightest. He was stuck with Kumogakure and they took an omega, like him, back into the village even if he was outcast by his selfish and greedy parents.
[lb2][/lb2]
Regardless of whose fault it was for Raiden's criminal-status, he was still marked as a criminal and whatever time had passed didn't change the fact that he was still marked as a criminal. The word 'redemption' floated into his ears and Kyo raised a brow. He was satisfied with the answer but it wasn't nearly enough to have Kyo let him in without someone of a higher power to let him in. He wasn't going to stick his neck out for a stranger, one that didn't even belong to the village, as it didn't benefit him. This man seemed to be stuck in his own ways so manipulating him or molding him to become a certain, specific way was out of the question.
[lb2][/lb2]
Not long after, the village gates opened up and the sound of wheels going over the ground could be heard. So this was the 'brave boy' that Raiden was going on about. Kyo looked him over for a moment and turned to look towards Raiden. He didn't recognize Kouin. Kyo didn't keep up with local heroes nor did he care for local heroes. It wasn't in his training to learn of, nor care for, people like him. While Kouin was also an ANBU, he never had (nor recollected) any moment where he directly worked with the guy. Kyo worked for a splinter-cell organization ran by a person of ill-repute. Kyo didn't know, nor did anyone else know, that he worked for a criminal organization hell-bent on manipulating Kumogakure from the shadows. It wasn't until the current Vice-Commander took the helm did the splinter-cell organization grow quiet. Kyo's last orders were to 'play along'. At first, Kyo believed that the ANBU that he was to 'play along' with were traitors to the village. His sister, however, informed him that he was brainwashed by this splinter-cell organization and had some fraction of his memories altered to suit their narrative; even if it meant overwriting his memory to state that his 'brother' was actually his sister. For what reason did changing his sibling's gender serve? Perhaps it served to help him misidentify his own twin.
[lb2][/lb2]
While Raiden's attention was on his wheelchair-bound son, another person appeared on the scenes. This face, he recognized instantly. Though, he had never met the man, the face and the attire was enough to have him easily identify who it was. It was the Raikage of the Village of Kumogakure: Kogami Ayumu. Kyo then turned towards Raiden and hooked a thumb at Ayumu. "So you can blame him for the 'broken system'," Kyo stated. He rolled his eyes and took a step back for the Raikage to take the stage. While he doesn't know the man, personally, he felt obligated to protect the Alpha of the pack. Calling Kyo ignorant because he didn't have children was rich. Kyo had more loyalty towards his village than any children he would have. While he wouldn't repeat the same cycle his parents did, he would do everything within his power to protect his future, possible children while also staying true to his pack. He didn't have to compromise one for the other as Kyo believed that to be the mark of a weak man.
[lb2][/lb2]
As the Raikage took the stage from him, Kyo simply backed up until he pressed his back against the massive wall around the village and turned to look towards the massive direwolf and pet the creature. He spoke to her, telling her how much of a softy the man was in a calm and level voice. Kyo then leaned in and whispered something into the creature's ear. "Prepare yourself. If he or the cripple make any sudden moves towards the Raikage, you know that human standing there, we're going to kill the bastards -- both of them," he said extremely quietly, masking his lip-flaps with the direwolf's ear. His words whispered to the wolf should go unheard.
[lb2][/lb2]
There was a buzzing in his ear upon hearing the codename "Sparrow". This caused Kyo to push himself off of the gate and tap the direwolf twice on the side. The direwolf took off around while Kyo stood 2 paces behind the Raikage and to his left. Dakota, on the other hand, circled around the man named Raiden and took up a ready-position behind Raiden. Some might consider this an offensive posture, but Kyo and Dakota always used this as a form of defense against foes. While surrounded, most creature generally resist the urge to attack due to being exposed on one of their sides. This also offered a great advantage in the event something foolish was done against the Raikage. It wasn't his call to give Sparrow any orders as it was entirely up to the Raikage to make that decision. Now to wait and see what Raiden does.
