Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Kimi ordered first, which was fine for Yuki considering her inability to choose among the several flavors they had. It was odd how many flavors you could think up to fit inside a tiny ball of rice, but they had everything from spicy to sweet to fishy. Even a curry rice ball. But in the end she decided to let Kimi's overly sensitive nose do the picking for her. "I'll take what she had" she told the vendor who looked at Kimi weird. Yuki gave him an eyeing down that said 'mind your own business' and it made him quickly adjust his gaze. He didn't miss her shinobi headband hanging off he neck.

Yuki smiled at him pleasantly after he corrected his manners, and then turned and took a bite out of the rice ball. It was delicious of course, and she made an appropriate sound of enjoyment. "These things aren't that bad. I'll have to cook some home made ones for you sometime though, I have perfected the rice balls recipe. Though don't ask me to cook anything else" She was a terrible cook. It took her forever to master the rice balls, but she was determined! And now her Onigiri were among the best in the village.

Her rice ball disappeared rather quickly.

"So what next, maybe some clothes shopping? On me" she promised as she helped Kimi steer herself through the crowd every now and again. Only when she seemed to be distracted and wandering off. "So what made you want to become a shinobi? Most in your condition decide to give up, instead you pushed yourself past those around you and became something more. What makes a person decide that? Oh sorry if that is too blunt!" she asked as they walked along.

Kimi grinned, finding herself thoroughly enjoying the night. Yuki was pleasant company, a welcome change from the sometimes abrupt and to-the-point attitude of her family. The Yukata girl chose the same as her, and she quirked a brow. It was always interesting to see what sorts of choices people would make when given the opportunity. Choosing to have the same type of food might seem like a small thing, but it shows at least a passing trust in your companion that they wouldn't get something completely revolting. Fortunately for Yuki, that trust was not misplaced. Then again, Kimi wasn't even sure there was a type of rice ball there that wouldn't taste simply wonderful. "They're pretty awesome." she agreed between bites. She finished it off before continuing her comment. "I'd love to try your cooking sometime. I'm not the best at it either, but I'm sure between the two of us we could cook up a meal even Souji would eat." she smiled. The prospect of spending more time with Yuki was a happy one. She didn't really have many female friends, and she sort of got the impression that Yuki didn't either.

Next was the prospect of shopping. Clothing shopping. "I've...uh...never really...gone clothing shopping before..." she admitted after a moment's silence. "I've always just been lucky...my mother was the same size as me when she was young..." she mumbled, half-embarrassed to admit that her mono-black attire was once her mother's. Her mother was relatively young when she died, quite a few years younger than her father, at the very least, but that didn't mean the clothes weren't a little...old. Their only saving grace was that they were simple, black, and Kimi was a passable seamstress growing up. She kept close to Yuki, the hectic motions and sound causing slight disorientation. It would be similar to someone flashing a strobe light in a crowded room. "Oh...Well. I started at the academy to...well...prove to my father that I could do it. As for why I stuck around after..." she trailed off. Yuki probably hadn't even realized that Kimi hadn't been born blind. It was strange. A lot of her friends at the academy were ones she met in the early days, before her bloodline activated. "...after I was blinded. At first I just couldn't admit that I had failed...but now. Now I actually have something to live for. Now I have people who care. A purpose beyond misguided attempts at earning my father's favor by trying to be something I'm not." she stopped rather abruptly. She was rambling. It was a habit of hers when she felt a little nervous about things. At the same time, she felt she should clarify. "I wasn't always blind, you know. I just had really bad vision as a child. I didn't lose my vision completely until my bloodline activated. Well, actually, that was what activated it....so yeah..." she trailed off again.

"What about you? Just following in the family business, or?" she cheered up slightly. Talking about herself was slightly taxing sometimes.

Yuki steered her friend towards the clothing district where many types of clothing could be found. Including ninja appropriate but still rather nice looking attire. She listened casually to Kimi as she described her lack of shopping experience, her reasons for becoming shinobi, and of course very closely to the bloodline details. It was interesting that she had sight before and was so accustomed to not having it now. How did one make such a change?

She asked about Yuki's decision in becoming a shinobi, and Kimi might find the answers quite close to home. "I was told I could not do it. My stamina was too low to effectively fight against even the weakest shinobi without breaking. My small frame was not something I would have even considered, but my family did of course. And in my best interests, they said I should choose something more elegant and suiting to my build. I rebelled and demanded I be a shinobi from a very young age." She stared off into nohtingness as they walked, her senses guiding them absentmindedly.

"I guess I just did not like being told no you could not do something. Plus it was family business as well. Having a natural knack for several chakra types gave me an advantage in some aspects too. And my family did some things to build my stamina. Its still shaky, but its fortified through some family jutsu. But this is all why I am a stealth fighter. I never really considered anything else." She smiled at the thought of being a dancer, artist, or musician. Nice thoughts, but they weren't for her, even if she did love such things.

"Ah here we are. Now don't freak out, but I am going to use a genjutsu on you. You can't shop unless you see the products." Yuki did a few hand seals and her vision would flood Kimi's mind. Whatever Yuki could see, an illusionary image would pop up in Kimi's head. This was something Yuki came up with on the fly. She was quite proud of her awesome idea. "Now you can shop unhindered" Yuki smiled, though Kimi still could not see that. She guided Kimi into the store, whether she was amazed by being able to temporarily see through Yuki or not.

Maybe now she could pick out some colors if that is what she wanted. As for Yuki, she would be looking into a few new skirts.

Kimi followed as they turned towards the clothing district. There were quite a few people around, clothing seeming to be a highly popular shopping item. It was a strangely new experience for her, and she found herself sliding slightly closer to Yuki. Despite not knowing her quite as long as most of her friends, Yuki was Souji's family, and that came with a certain level of familiarity at it's base. She listened as Yuki described her reasoning for becoming a shinobi, and nodded. It made sense. And Kimi certainly doubted anyone would tell Yuki that she wasn't cut out for it now. Just seeing the way she fought with water, which wasn't even her main element, was enough to show Kimi just how formidable of a shinobi the female was. "Nobody likes being told they can't do something. I was told I could never do anything productive with my music. But now.." she laughed, trailing off. It was rather obvious what her music could do now. Sound was her source of strength, not some simple hobby she indulged in on a frequent basis.

They arrived at their destination, and Kimi paused to turn towards Yuki. She mentioned a Genjutsu, and Kimi nodded, not quite sure what to expect, but trying her best to prepare herself. At first it didn't seem like anything changed. But then all of a sudden, images started flooding her mind. She stumbled, leaning against Yuki for a moment as they walked into the store. It was slightly disorienting at first, the way the images seemed to be off-centered from where she was. They were Yuki's visions, not her own, after all. After a few confused moments, however, she began to sort out her relative position to these images through her sonar abilities. The world flashed in colors Kimi had nearly forgotten existed. Living through sonar had become so natural, she had nearly forgotten there was any other way to experience the world. "Woah!" she exclaimed as she took in the colors. Of course she'd still be sticking to her typical black attire, though the vibrant purples and blues couldn't help but grab her attention. She ran her hands through the materials, wondering what the colors would look like on her. "What about something like this?" she held up a particularly cute skirt. Kimi may not have owned many of them in her time, but there was always a start, right? It was a mostly black skirt, with a purple undertone, as well as a more bold purple lining the bottom. All in all, it was a very Kimi-like style.

Yuki laughed at her expression and reaction as she came to realize she could see somewhat vicariously through her. But she recovered quickly after a bit of disorientation and seemed thrilled to be able to know what was around her. But it seemed she would indeed stick to the mostly black attire anyways. But she did add in some splash. "Very cute" Yuki agreed, and then started to flutter around the shop pulling items she thought Kimi would like from the racks. All kinds of things, mostly black with different hues of purple, pinks, blues, and reds. The images would flood Kimi's mind as she picked every item, a swirling rainbow of hot colors overlaying on the back splash of black.

"These would be great for starting don't ya think?" It was a quite a lot of clothes, some meant for Yuki to try on as well. She would of course give Kimi's style a try. But over all, it was a hefty load, especially for just starters as Yuki had said. "Don't worry about the bill, I got it" she promised. She would then usher her towards the fitting rooms.

While they tried on clothes, stepped out to the hall to show off for one another; Yuki showing her what she looked like in certain clothes, Yuki would continue the conversation. "So you became a shinobi despite the odds, whats your plans for the future? I know that I have no direct plans myself. But I teach the next generation what I can, and do my best to protect those in Iwa, even from themselves. Thats enough for me. But what do you wanna do?" she seemed particularly curious about this. Maybe it was her teacher instincts kicking in again, but she liked knowing that others had a goal.

Her new friend's approval in her clothing choice brought a smile to Kimi's face. This clothes shopping thing really could be a blast! She took the clothes designated for her, and proceeded to partake in the strange, girlish ritual of trying on clothes. It was a ton of fun, and Kimi soon became thoroughly amused by it all. "I'm...I'm going to be a Guardian." she nodded, spinning around as a particularly pretty dress swirled around her knees. "When I first started at the Academy, I had no idea. But then I met Souji, and he offered to teach me...to help bring me closer to Teleos. And after that point, he became my Mentor, and showed me the ways of Guardians...I realized that's what I want to do with my life." she explained. "Teaching's a perfectly valuable plan for your life, you know. Without teachers, the younger generations can't grow into powerful Shinobi!" she exclaimed rather excitedly, remembering her classes, and the shinobi who taught them.

It wasn't much longer before she finished trying on her stack of garments. "I think...These ones!" she held up all of two items out of the bunch. She wasn't trying to be thrifty, or try to purposefully not get a lot, it was just how she was. She placed the rest of the items on the return to shelf rack, and turned to Yuki. She ended up with the skirt she had first pointed out, as well as a top that matched pretty well, yet still stuck to her thematic dress code. "What about your stuff? Which did you like?" she gestured to the pile of clothes the other had been rotating through. She was interested to see what sorts of things the Yukata girl found to be her style.

Yuki had decided on a slightly different look than normal. She had found a plaid skirt to go with her usual red shirt. It seemed to be all she was going to be buying as well. She had too many clothes at the house anyways. "You like?" she said holding it up to herself and showing it off in a mirror so that Kimi could see. The skirt was red plaid in particular and it was draped around her hips, pinned by her hands. She gave a little twirl and then looked at Kimi. "I got too much clothes at home hah, If that's all you want?" she made sure she didn't want anything else and they went to check out. Yuki paid for it all.

"Guardians are particularly noble in our village. I'm glad you aimed high. If anyone attacked the village, its good to know you will be finishing them off". She couldn't think why anyone would want to attack their perfect village. Perfect in her eyes because she held the up most loyalty to her home.

"Well this was fun. Hey I am having a class in a couple days on stealth, you should stop in" she suggested as they walked to the taxi.

Kimi nodded. The skirt would look incredible on Yuki. She handed over her two items, a small thanks escaping her lips once again. "I've got some stuff at home too. I don't really need much." she nodded as well. She walked alongside Yuki, marveling at the dwindling number of people out and about. It seemed like it was winding down for the night, at least in the shopping district. The other areas of town were sure to still be hustling with life, especially those devoted to dining, but that wasn't much of Kimi's worry. She had class in the morning! "I just want to be the best I can be for Iwa." she confirmed. Despite everything, Kimi was loyal to her home before anything else. She was raised within its boundaries, and couldn't imagine anywhere better than there. "I should! Stealth saved me during the tournament, and it'd be great to learn more about it!" she made a mental note to sign up for the class as soon as she could.

The taxi arrived shortly after, and she headed towards home.

As kimi took the taxi, Yuki would take to the roof tops to make it home, it was faster anyways. Hopefully kimi would show up to the class coming up soon. She would love to see what the girl was like in school. The night had been quite fufilling that was for sure. She would need to do another girls night out sometime soon.
