Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Fuego was an easy thing to learn and understand all things considered. Umashi himself wasn't exactly the pinnacle of perfect grammar and diction but he certainly wasn't a slouch either. Sitting in the back of the library in one of the many study rooms that normally booked up quickly, Umashi had all sorts of books and maps spread out before him. Part of learning a language was understanding the culture of the people, and with a slew of books written about ancient Konoha and how Fiero came to be, Umashi could definitely appreciate the languages. How the language went from being spoken to being written was especially interesting to Umashi. Here one could look at the very lay of the land and the expressive word pictures to see how their thoughts and intentions translated to the physical page. Looking from one book to the other, as Umashi began to try and speak the language he found that he had to constantly adjust his notes.

With new rules on grammar there came new ways of thinking and suddenly Umashi found himself looking at the world around him with a new appreciation. While he recovered from his injuries he found that the hours turned into days as he continually looked for new material. Using one of the perks of being the Hokage, Umashi managed to rent out the same room time and time again as he learned the basics of the language quite quickly. Moving on to the most basic of children’s books he began to try and speak the language and managing to find a good private tutor last minute, within two days he was on par with at least an academy student and on the fifth day he broke through the barrier into a functioning teenagers general vocabulary. Continuing to work with the tutor he used workbooks and memory games to practice for his exams and in due time he was ready for Vulcan.

Finding Vulcan to be a much harsher language in terms of elegance, he always found himself straightening his back and barking out the language versus speaking it. Vulcan may have been based on Fiero but it was a language that left little room for slang or wasted words. Of course with anything there were techniques to consider but overall, Umashi much preferred Fiero to Vulcan simply because he didn’t want to appear more prickish than he needed to be. Fortunately for him, he’d only need to speak the language when around the ANBU. Activating his Kage Seal, Umashi began to play with the language as he allowed the chakra altering effects of the seal to alter his voice. Making his voice go deeper than normal and then higher than he typically could reach left him easily amused during his lessons. Peculiarly while speaking Vulcan, Umashi found that it was actually far easier to control his chakra. This coupled with his use of the curse seal allowed him to more easily do all the normal parlor tricks that the ANBU used to scare their victims. It was through this revelation that he gave more thought to the story that he’d read that mentioned that it was a shadowmancer who’d originally created the Vulcan tongue.

Whereas Umashi looked at it before as mere legend or fantasy, the story suddenly grew more logical with each use. Within weeks he was able to conduct himself normally and in the month that it took him to fully heal from his wounds, Umashi was quickly altering between usages of the languages on the fly. A month’s worth of cram sessions had allowed him to nearly master the craft of speaking in Fiero and Vulcan without missing a step. Although it would take many more months, and maybe even years to become fluent enough to deliver speeches or write books, Umashi felt more than confident that he could get through a quick meeting or two speaking in nothing other than the fiery tongue. What remained was for him to help assist the next leader of the ANBU to get his or her people to learn Fiero and Vulcan as well. What they didn’t need was a gap in communication in the middle of a serious mission.
