Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

… Maybe summoning Kokurenga was a bad idea.

Kani had lost quite some of her will, now sluggishly pulling herself along the obstacle course- which was 100% not what Hon had planned for them to partake in… that being hopelessness. But he was to blame – Kokurenga was overkill, and he was smarter than that. This whole proctor/teacher/tutor thing really meshed badly with his experience, but it was all for the sake of growing. The distant dreams of Aoi’s Genjutsu still lingered within his mind, reminding him of a path to ruin he tried his best to avert from.

“Hmpf, Kokurenga… I might’ve overdone it with you around,” he admitted, swinging past his scaly companion and Ichika who was running from it to the best of his abilities. Kokurenga’s face was a bit charred, too… huh. Up until they met the valley with the lake at the bottom, further obstacles would face them – ropes and branches and even wooden dolls representing enemy ninja. They could have their fun along the last part of the run…

And Kokurenga, while dissatisfied with his lot, was called back by Hon, disappearing in a huge cloud of smoke. “Sorry about that, Kokurenga… I’ll let you have your fill next time.”

Swinging past the rest, he took another wide look with his Byakugan to see the placements… Shinsetsu was first, Ichika second, and Kani was on his tail in spite of her state due to the previous shenanigans caused by Kokurenga. If he recalled correctly, they’d betted on dinner or something after this was over…

So he swung way ahead of them, reaching the end line at the valley, then prepared something…

And once the kids would arrive, they would see an already-prepared picnic; a large, comfy blanket spread over the cold grass, the faint shades of branches from above, a lit bonfire to warm up the area, and a small box with sandwiches and grapes. Hon sat down after his work was done, knowing that he’d have to make a new set of food for his next mission again… but his loss. The kids obviously needed to eat.

It took a while, it took an absolute deadlift, but he could finally see it. After hauling ass at the absolute peak of his ability to run and leap through the treetops, he finally made it to the valley their sensei had described. It was glorious. A blanket was spread over the frosty glass, food laid out, and a warm fire ready for them to recuperate around. Hon was a merciful master after having put all of them through this, and Shinsetsu didn't know quite how to take it, or even what was really going on. His chest heaved as his pace came to a halt, his scarlet-red eyes crossed inward comically as he tried to absorb the scene before him. And then, right on cue, unable to process any further information, the Sharingan faded to mundane black eyes, Shinsetsu gave a funny sort of huff, and then he blacked out. His body thudded rather hard to the floor as he sprawled out, exhaustion taking over.

Thank the heavens the dragon was gone, dissipated in a puff of smoke, because Ichika was on his last burst of adrenaline desperately clawing his way to the exit. A sigh of relief as he calms his nerves, barreling through snapping branches, clumsily dispatching obstacles with trusty kunai. His aim was not particularly the best, preferring to get up close and personal with his foes, but it was more than sufficient for this final leg of the race. It was a much more relaxed journey to the valley that would be their destination. He stumbles to the finish line in the least graceful way imaginable and thuds to the ground, taking a seat to catch his breath, the last of his energy drained from his body.

"Second... place... isn't... so.. bad.." He lets out an exhausted chuckle, falling into the dirt with outstretched limbs, like the withering branches strewn across the ground. His eyes mirror the majesty of a coming spring, sprouting new life captured in lush green. As stressful as it all was in the chilly winter forest, the valley itself was quite beautiful. And in the shared experience of it all, he'd hope he had formed some sort of bond. Ichika was trying. Trying in the only way he could, solely through explosive action. He drags himself up, to join his sensei with a profoundly joyous grin - a gift of a meal as reward, or perhaps, recompense? "I'm sorry, if I hurt the dragon. I just couldn't stomach leaving someone behind and then I panicked!" A bashful grasp and pat of of his own neck as if to gauge whether he was in trouble or not. "I thought this was really fun."

He digs into the meal, sitting together with his classmates, chowing down in polite conversation until their temporary farewells.
