The chirping of the wild woke the forest wet with dew. It was how most peaceful days began. Such a day was often taken for granted. Peaceful days, the rule not the exception. But the world was filled with seasons and each season had an end. And as the day sailed toward its inevitable conclusion… so did the season of peace. Dusk fell into night. The full moon had risen though the reflection of light could hardly pierce the thick shrubs and forest tops. Though a well lit cigarette did some justice in piercing the darkness from below. Mizu would nod to Xaiyu signaling the beginning of the end. Her cold eyes flared from the abyss as the howling and wailing of the forest’s monsters grew louder. For deep within the Forest of Death, Mizu had set the forest a blaze. All manner of creature rushed from the epicenter to escape the flames but the gates and walls were there to contain them. Mizu listened to the sound of rampant and raging creatures plowing through the forest toward the gates. Naturally they would want to escape the flames but escaping would only be made possible by Mizu. Her eyes strayed from the forest and onto the village. The village who had ignored the warnings and flyers that littered the streets. The Great Exodus was upon them. “And now… you beautiful things. You are free.” With the draw of her blade, Mizu would cut across the walls that contained things within. A gapping whole left in her wake as the trampling sounds and roars grew near.
“You are no longer prisoners to the Leaf. Rage and rampage freely. Rejoice, for our age is nigh!” Xaiyu’s manic laughter could only be heard by Mizu and those with unreal spectral sight. She would laugh and laugh before howling towards the full moon. What excited her was chaos and soon, there would be enough for her to have her fill.
