Amy sat at the small consultation table in her shop with the two Noon twins, having received enough prior notice to prepare a sword for each of them. They were both long swords, but made specially in proportion to their small stature. She had even taken the time to make them especially beautiful with reference to their names.
Dae – a young man in his twenties with golden curls and amber eyes – had received a blade emblazoned in gold with a sun set into the cross-guard and a very well-cut ruby in its center. Night – a tanned girl with the same curly golden hair and amber eyes – was given a blade encrusted with platinum with a crescent moon set in the same place as the sun on Dae's blade. Smiling and laughing, the three had a quick conversation about the type of fighting they were interested in, Dae wished to learn a more offensive type of fighting, while Night was looking for more defensive instruction. Smiling at their differences, Amy stood and lead the pair out into her small training yard where she had pushed the dummies that normally filled the space out of the way to make room for the smaller ones she had constructed for this purpose.
“Okay, go ahead and lay down your blades for now, we'll be practicing with blunted weapons.” She handed each of them a blunted replica of their own blades and picked up a blunted longsword for herself. “If you'll each stand in front of one of these dummies, we'll get started. I wanna teach you both the basics before we get into offensive and defensive styles.” Smiling, she began by showing them each the proper way to hold their swords – though they were very close to correct in the first place. It didn't take too long before the twins were getting comfortable with having blades in their hands and she allowed Dae to practice a bit on his own while she worked on defense with Night.
Grinning as she sparred for a moment with the golden girl, they spun around the room, Amy calling out tips here and there as they met blow for blow with the ringing of their blades. After a bit, however, the small woman smiled and held up her hands in surrender, her skin covered in a layer of sweat and her breathing heavy. “That was fantastic, Night, you'll do very well if you keep practicing...now lets see how your brother does.” With that, Dae walked over and the dance began once again, this round a little faster paced as the young man tried his damnedest to land a blow on the redheaded shinobi. “You'll have to practice more to get me, I had an even better teacher than I am.” She said with a little laugh as she stepped back with a respectful bow. “That was excellent, Dae, you can practice with your sister and you'll both improve together. It may also be helpful to hire a more experienced instructor if you really want to improve.” Laughing a little, and a bit out of breath herself, she took the blunted weapons and returned them to their places on the weapon racks before escorting the pair from the shop and wishing them good luck.
