Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

[legend="Duelist (Original Post); Aika is focused on the former Mad Hatter's demise"]Aika would like to think herself as a mild mannered woman of the mind… or as mild mannered as a professional criminal can be anyway. She could sit back, even as chaos ensued all around her, and think of a hundred different ways to deal with things without resorting to her own fists. No, no, using her own fists would be too basic, barbaric, a buffoon’s behaviour!

But as her fist slammed into the bastard’s nose with a sickening crack, she couldn’t deny the thrill that ran down her spine. Oh, if only that thrill could be felt through the burning anger that raged inside her at this very moment.

”Do you know the trouble you've caused us, you fucker?” Every word was accompanied with another punch as dhe held the poor sap up by the collar. The Queen of Hearts wasn’t well known for hand to hand combat. One of her measly punches probably wouldn’t hurt. Not without employing chakra into the mix anyway. But, considering the many (now bloody) rings currently adorning her fingers, that meant little when metal met flesh with force. The bastard in her grasp was a two faced, thrice damned information broker. And his loose lips had caused the Wonderland Gang to lose precious cargo. Precious cargo that was meant to be paid tribute to the religious loonies of Iwagakure, to grant their group safe passage. Now, the fucking Shamans she had been in contact with were having second thoughts about their business dealings.

The man had it coming. Snitches get stitches, after all.

But for the Queen of Hearts herself to go all the way out here to Outer Maruishi to track him down? Suffice to say, Aika was damn pissed.

And he should be honoured he was getting his face bashed in by the woman, personally. The ever present but hidden bloodlust, the hunger in the woman felt a cool thrill at this. But it wasn’t all a good feeling, even for the boss lady. For one, it had been the first time she'd raised her own fists against anyone ever since she rose to power in Stone. And secondly, she had trusted the bloody man. He had been one of her Lieutenants. The Mad Hatter.

Not anymore. She'll have to find a new top hat lunatic to replace him.

Her rarely seen temper had gotten the best of her. Negotiations for supplies, food and medicine for the denizens under her care, were not going so well. There were plenty of them, the poor and the hungry that were easily overlooked by the average citizen. It left him feeling incompetent, awful. Paint her as a bad guy all they wanted, she still watched out for the desolate and destitute along with her partners in crime.

"I've got no time for you. Say hello to Thanatos, you worthless bag of meat," she hissed, one last time, grabbing him by the back of his head. There was a flash and the sound of burning flesh as thousands of volts ran through the former Mad Hatter until he was no more.

Stepping out of the cottage where her... interrogation had been held, she dusted her hands together then crossed her arms.

Now, what the bloody hell was she going to do here until her transport back to village proper arrived?

[legend="Fearless (Original Post); Life is boring when you fear very little"]It was boring, oh so, boring. Nothing to fear. Nothing except the hunger in her head that was as constant as her heartbeat. But, even then, even with that ever present, invasive need, she'd learnt to embrace it. Curb it. It was all so boring.

See, see, how bored she was? She's even gone and set up a hookah, one that was supposed to be for the Caterpillar and not the Queen of Hearts. Mint shisha brought about a pleasant, refreshing aroma to her corner of the Wonderland Cafe. She was smoking just because. "This is all your fault," she says to no one in particular.

The Wonderland Cafe was filled, as it often was, with customers for business both legal and otherwise. She waved away a hopeful looking, balding man who thought himself worthy to speak to the queen though.

A scoff.

The queen was picky about who she interacted with, after all. Only the best of the best who she could benefit from. Or the lowest of the low that she could use. Often, even the richest and most powerful of her clients only faced a messenger. They were such pathetic swine, business people who haven't lifted a finger to work in their entire life. So spoiled and sheltered. They'd be lucky if she allowed them to shine her shoes.

But, there, Aika sat alone at the Queen of Heart's throne. Although two card guards stood ever vigilant on either side of her, they could be decoration for all she cared in this moment. What she wanted was interesting company. Twisting the hookah's hose around the length of her arm, she lifts the mouthpiece for a huff. The other hand comes down to press a button on her headset, asking Arisu a simple: “Do I have any more appointments today? Any documents to sign?” To which the blonde replies in the negative.

It doesn't really matter. Even a meticulous woman like her can tire of paperwork. Although a business dealing or two could have helped with her boredom. But for now, her eyes wander the cafe, looking to see if anyone caught her interest.
[/legend]|[legend="Hyperactive (Original Post); Always singing, always talking, always dancing, always thinking, always doing"]She wasn't expecting that. To be spat upon. Killing intent had to be pulled back, mostly because she didn't want to lose her temper twice in one day. The Queen had already killed the Hatter... that should have satisfied it. There was no way she was going to let her hunger get the better of her.

So, she was patient... as patient as a shinobi blinded by talking snakes could be. That meant she was bristling and positively on edge, ready to kill or be killed.

When she realized where she was, she couldn't help but grit her teeth and raise her hand to her head for the incoming migraine. This is what she got for being nice! "So, this is a do or die sort of game now, is it? That's a huge step up from just scaring a buncha' humans," she found herself hissing. The woman didn't know whether to laugh or to rage. But she quelled her anger, letting a crooked smile paint her lips. "Unfortunately for you, I always play to win."

With the snakes off her, she took a few steps forward and looked around. The desert, huh? Well, she wasn't a shinobi for nothing.

She brought her right hand up to her right ear and her left hand to her throat, going "Doo doo doo doo," until she was satisfied with her tone, rhythm and pitch. Then, suddenly, she started singing, most wonderfully considering her background as a cabaret singer:

"I'm singing in the rain, just singing in the rain.
What a glorious feelin'; I'm happy again.
I'm laughing at clouds, so dark up above.
The sun's in my heart and I'm ready for love."

As she sang, her chakra concentrated on her voice. But not in the manner that one would except from a Hashigaki or a Sound technique user no. As her cousins had taught her, shinobi techniques were all about intent and will. It didn't matter really what handseals you made or what technique you called out; those were only mediums.

But, true to her words... rather, her song, she wished for it to rain on this dry landscape.

[legend="Combat Instinct (Original Post); Nothing hones your instincts like being intimate with death"]Aika was hardly startled. On the contrary, she had been aware of the lad's presence the moment he stepped into her little kingdom. As a Dark Sage, who was intricately and intimately knowledgeable with the dealings of Death, one who walked close to it such as he, would have been a lantern in a bleak plain of existence.

Although, she paid it no heed at first, letting it be a pinprick at the back of her mind, it was pulled to the forefront the moment Kumori chose to approach her.

The woman tilted her head to the side in the faintest sign of intrigue. Although, at the moment, her eyes bore into the smoke the sneaky, little thing occupied. Taking in a deep drag from her pipe, she blew more of the minty vapour in his general direction. "You could say that. But I would be careful with how you phrase things, kitten. If I were so easily offended, this so called queen would be asking royalties from you," she drawled, with one last huff in his direction.

Harmless smoke wouldn't hinder her in observing anyway. Even as the tendrils and wisps let flickers of memories dance about her mind. Black inky feathers, everywhere, everywhere. A pale man, Tsuru, writhing under him. Whispering sweet nothings, honey words laced with poison. She wasn't smoking his vile concoction, had sworn off such things. Yet...

Her expression betrayed neither interest nor lack thereof. Still, she hadn't waved him away, instead offering a compliment: "I must say though; that is one pretty smile you have. They did well in casting you for your part of the Cheshire Cat." The way she said this was the way a mother would compliment her child. Sweet. Indeed, the young man was one of Arisu's employs, before she had bought the Cafe to be her own. So, while Kumori was a character actor and employee for the little hidey hole, he had yet to be truly part of the Queen's Court. Perhaps that could change.

She let a corner of her mouth twitch into a half smile and patted one of the seats next to her. It stood to her left and just a bit lower than the throne she was occupying. "Take a seat. And, if you'd like, tell me: Who are you? I'd like to know more. Will you walk into my parlour, sweetie?"

Will you walk into my parlour? said the Spider to the Fly,
'Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy;
The way into my parlour is up a winding stair,
And I've a many curious things to shew when you are there.

[legend="Jutsu Mastery (Original Post); Water, Earth, Fire, Air (and Lightning). Long ago..."]Aika figured that if she couldn’t use her water techniques from the distinct lack of it, her other techniques fell upon these same rules. That meant that her fire techniques were out, without an ignition source... barring of course, the fact that she had a lighter and some cigarettes in her pocket. But, the heat was already stifling and she did not want to make it worst. Earth techniques were also a no go; there was nothing but sand and that was a whole other deal from rock and soil, needing finer control.

That left her with, theoretically, her wind and lightning techniques. Theoretically. For the latter, perhaps friction could help and it was a theory she needed to test out anyway. So, as she made her way down the cave, she hardly lifted her feet from the ground. Rojikku might notice, he might not; it didn’t matter. And she sang too. And as before, she focused her chakra and formed her intent using a song.

“Ooh, you shock it, shake it baby; Electric Lady, you’re a star.
You got a classic kind of crazy but you know just who you are.
You got the look the gods agree they wanna see,
All the birds and the bees, dancing with the freaks in the trees.
And watch the water turn to wine, outer space and out your mind,
Oh, shock me one good time.”

Hopefully, it would work. Because if it did, the energy left behind in her wake would have aided in creating a Crystal Eye and three lightning clones. Her next move would hinge on whether this was a good idea or not. Because the conjured eye and the three doppelgangers would become her scout party, entering the cave before she did.

Otherwise, well... damn. Didn’t she even get a sword? Where was the old man that would reward it to her? She mustn’t venture out... in, alone, after all! Not that she couldn’t defend herself but it never hurt to be wary. "I guess it would be good to get out of this heat."

[legend="Hidden Power (Original Post); Aika's still got some fight in her left"]
It was a mistake to think it was all over now though. As she climbed out of the pit the worm had created, she looked to Rojikku and Peten, hoping that was that. No matter how much fun she had, there were limits. And she was getting quite close to her limit.

On the other hand... Would she really pass up the chance to knock down Rojikku's smarmy face a peg or two? No. No she wouldn't. "One last test, huh? Good; I've got some fight left in me. Well, a lot of fight, but... whatever," Aika chuckled, wiping her bloody stained cheek with the back of her hand. That did nothing but smear the blood further though.

But, as the rain fell, it helped to clear up the gunk from her somewhat. And, if the rules of this place stayed the same, this meant she was ready to rumble. "All or nothing; do or die. That's life's rules, ain't it? I'm ready for you. You ain't seen nothing yet," she hummed. Raising both her hands up and tilting her head back, face to the sky, she grinned. "If I do die, I've at least made it interesting and fun, hahah!"
[/legend]|[legend="Jutsu Creator(Original Post); If you gonna do something, do it with style"]A crackling filled the air like mechanical music, reminisce somewhere halfway between a shrieking noise and an acoustic guitar. There was a constant beat to the sharp lights emanating from the woman: lightning, electricity, static, noise, music. And she slipped her stained green vest and her black jacket back on for what could be her final performance, one way or another. She ran a hand through her now damp hair and nodded in time to the rhythm in her head.

“I’m hearing voices, animal noises, the crème dela crème, the feminine abyss.
And I’m reaching my threshold, staring at the truth ‘til I’m blind.
My body’s stupid, stereo putrid, spilling out music into raw sewage,
I’m reaching my threshold, staring at the truth ‘til I’m blind.”

With every word she sang, power crackled, through her fingertips flowing through her and around her. A black smoke joined it, like some sort of diseased, malevolent aura that spread from the woman. Her eyes glowed and, in paradox, the black mist was surrounded by a bright glow. It grew and grew around her until it took form of a great beast. A beast which would have been considered hairy, if its body were not compromised of electricity, smoke and light.

Roaring, the beast struck out at the two with a mighty vengeance.
