Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Long ago there was a clan of shamans called the Nigiri clan. They believe harming the land would bring misfortune. The hunted like animals and only took enough for survival. They believe all life was precious and give thanks to the animal that they slay. However not all share the peaceful sentiment with nature. A clan of Samurai’s known as the Tsubaki, hunted for sport. They invaded the territory of the Nigiri which was full of game. The Nigiri tried to protect the land and fought back, but they were no match against samurai’s steel. The Nigiri clan was defeated and was forcefully assimilated into the Tsubaki clan as a branch family and served as servants to the main family. After centuries the hatred of the Nigiri grew so much that they could not take it anymore. Now a resistance has been formed and they prayed to their gods for retribution. Their gods were spirits and demons of animals. The resistance is getting desperate and now one it trying to release a god. One with no father or mother but is born from the earth itself. They plan to release the Monkey god of mischief, who has been sealed under the mountain. If he is freed for his prison; he will surely bring chaos to the village. He must be recaptured no matter the cost. If it is true that the monkey god is free, they would need to head to the Port Cirrus. The monkey will likely steal back the weapon the Nigiri clan returned to the sea serpent god.

Shimete’s father is dead because he was suspected of resistance against the Tsubaki clan. The Nigiri loyalist killed Shimete’s father to save the clan. She strives to not be like her father, who is portrayed as a villain for betraying his clan. This is the reason she is doing this quest. It is in order to prove to herself that she is not her father’s child. It was just a year ago that Tsubaki Kuzuma, Shimete's master, went on the ritual of enlightenment. It was this event that he returned blinded by a demon curse. Shitmete always blamed herself for not having the courage to take the ritual with him. The demon was Kojoro the fox goddess of vengeance. Shimete will not have let another Nigiri deity harm her master.

The Heartland of Kaminari no Kuni is a land full of lush plant life and trees as far as the eye can see. Somewhere within this dense forest is the prison for the monkey god. Unfortunately the location has been lost for centuries. Shimete was exploring the forest with her hired bodyguard Tetsuya. However she was going in one large circle. Shimete passes by the same fallen tree five times before she gave up and stopped for a moment. When she left the village it was sun rise; now it was all but noon and Shimete was getting hungry. Luckily she did have the foresight to bring some food with her. “Hey Tetsuya, gather some firewood and so we build a fire. I can cook something for lunch.” As she gathers wood for the fire there were howls behind her and all around her. Wolves came poking out behind the trees. She was out numbered ten to one in an unfamiliar territory. This was not a good situation to be in. They growl, bark and snap at her as they tighten the circle around her. They could smell the meat in her pack. One of the wolves stepped closer. He was big, grey and tall; he must be the alpha of the group. He looks at her curiously; his eyes were odd balled like her own. One was yellow the other blue. “A child of Moro.” Moro was a huge white wolf with sapphire eyes. She is the goddess of the hunt and it is said amongst the Nigiri clan that wolves with odd balled eyes were the children of Moro.

So this is what her father was trying to make her into. Her father was caught giving Shimete’s mother some sort of potion while she was with child. If it was not for the elder Shimete would not be alive today. The elder believe she could be a force of good if trained right. The fact that the wolf was hesitate to attack, gave Shimete an idea. She lays the meat down on the ground, “Please take this as an offering to Moro. All I ask is to allow us to travel through your territory.”

"Adapt or perish" it's the one law of survival. Yet, for generations my family has ignored it, and they've been lucky. But soon, very soon, I know our luck will run out and when it does... The Sasaki will cease to exist. Trapped in ideals, and tradition my family will be unable to function in the days to come. We live by virtue, but in a world where balance is established through fear and violence, we cannot maintain our beliefs and our lives. I know this much, and I will do what my father refused to; I will change our beliefs, and assert our dominance. We owe our existence to this country, but as we are now, we are more of a liability than an asset. And so we're looked down upon, and criticized, and forgotten.

Dad is ill, and so I've assumed the role of acting Head.

I can tell everyone is uneasy about my new position, they've always been uneasy about me. But when I show them my strength as a leader, the strength of my ideas... they'll respect me, and understand why they need to follow me. But as I am now I cannot help anyone, that's partly why I was so open to this job. Protecting the heir to the Nigiri, would place me on their good side. This is proof that there is something they want desperately, enough so to deceive the Tsubaki. And I will help them, because with their support I know I can preserve my family for centuries to come. I feel as though our families are similar, very similar.

I walked with Shimete, awhile before noticing we were going in circles, and had I anything to offer I would've spoke up, but geography was not my specialty. She finally stopped before suggesting lunch, It seemed like a good idea, it was high noon and we had been walking since sunrise. I nodded at her request and began my search for firewood. I had also bought food, but only non-perishables, and water. I had wandered only a few hundred feet from the site where Shimete was, when I looked back to check on her. My Byakugan had been activated, a rare occurrence, but I refused to place my pride above her safety. Ever since discovery my eyes have been black pools of ugliness, and betrayal. But that's a story for another time.

What did I see? Wolves, enough to give anyone a run for their money. I was already dashing to her rescue by the time the wolves had completely surround her. I stopped high in a nearby tree, overlooking the scene. Something was amiss, if these animals were starving enough to show themselves in the light of noon, why weren't they attack? The Alpha stepped forward, but that's all he did. Shimete took this opportunity to grab the meat from her bag and offer it to the dogs. I waited for movement, my hands full of tagged Kunai.

Congrats, you two have stumbled across The Tattered Treasure Map of the Deep (The Sharks)

Do you two accept? In order for this to continue, you both have to agree.

[a map? Okay, I was wondering how one would stumble upon an aquatic contract in the forest. This should be interesting. Lets do it. Yes]

[also that is hilarious. We are lost and so of coarse we would find a map. This is beyond luck right here.]

Rather than any kind of violence that Tetsuya had anticipated, the wolves would accept their offering peacefully and return the woods. Not far beyond them within the woods, one might be able to sense the presence of another, a man deeper into the forest.

[OOC: Taking over for Kyoko. Terribly sorry about the delay.]

The one that Shimete called the child of Moro takes the offering and tosses it to one of the other members of the pack. A wolf grabs the meat and they head out. Only the child of Moro remains behind. As the wolf looks back at her, she thought she heard it welcome her to the forest. Shimete shakes her head not believing what she heard. “Did you just say something?” The wolf just looks at her silently, but then gives her a wink. Maybe hunger made her delusional, or maybe she was one of Moro’s chosen after all. Shimete walks over and sit next to the canine. She pets him having her fingers run through his long fur. He showed no resistance but welcomed her attention. His tail wags happily as she scratches behind his ear. “What shall I call you?” A name is spoken into her mind, but thinks the thought is her own. “I’ll call you Hakkai.” He gives a happy bark. She never had a pet before, but it feels kind of nice. She felt like he belonged to be with her. She remembers the task of the ritual was to bring back the pelt of an animal. This would probably be the first time anyone brought back one still alive. She imagines the surprised look on the clans face and she begins to laugh.

Hakkai sniffs the air and looks up into the trees with an angry growl. “You see something boy?” She looks around and then finds what caught Hakkai’s attention; it was Tetsuya siting on a branch with kunai in hand. She pats Hakkai on the head. “Calm down boy, he means us no harm.” The canine ceases its growl, but continues to stare at the man meanly with teeth bared. “Put the weapon away Tetsuya there is no danger here.” Of coarse Shimete could not sense the man for she was only a student in level.

[according to my calculation's if I did had a bloodline it would be 23%. Expect claws in the next couple posts.]

I was relieved when the dogs retreated, or appeared to be. I had visibly relaxed my body as not to raise suspicion, letting the anticipation of battle leave all but my mind. My mind, she stayed sharp, because I had seen someone too close for comfort. Yet I followed the directions of my escortee and placed my kunai within their respective pouches, I jumped from the tree, and walked over to her. It was easier to protect people, when they were within arms length. I wondered why this mutt had picked up on me without trouble, while completely ignoring the presence of the figure not too far away. I offered my hand to the wolf, with a soft smile, so that it would know I meant no harm.

Danger. Maybe that was it, it had picked up on my battle readiness, and figured me dangerous. So could it be that this shadow behind the trees meant us no harm?

I had seen it, while I watched the wolves return to the woods my attention had shifted, just for a second, into the forest. I had seen a man. How long he had been there, I couldn't tell, but we basically traveled this entire area. So either he was careful, or we were foolish. In both cases an unidentified person was a threat, and I was to handle it. As was my Job.

HEY!! I know someone's there! Come out, why don't you?! I yelled. My voice absent of any hostility, I was trying my best to sound inviting. But I was prepared for anything, the academy forced the habit upon me.

The wolf Shimete had communicated with remained behind as the pack returned into the wood. Perhaps the student would find the animal's companionship something permanent after, though, nothing was certain. As Tatsuya called into the wood, the wolf would look in that direction and begin growling. It seemed who ever was in the wood would not come once requested by the mednin. If they wanted to confront the person, it would seem they must go to them.

Hakkai looks at the hand, looks at Tetsuya and back at the hand again. He carefully swifts the hand ready to retaliate if it grabs him. When Tatsuya yells at the man the dog turns to face it. However when he looked he saw no one, but he could smell a person over there. What type of scenes this guy has, Hakkai thought.

“I don’t know.” Shimete answers under her breath. When the mystery man did not reveal himself, Hakkai would chase the scent and lunge at the man on sight in attempts of pinning him down. Upon seeing her new companion running into the forest Shimete shortly follows.

I panicked, I had no choice but to panic. I mean I vowed for this girl's safety, yet here she was, a student, lunging at strangers. I drew my fish-line, and threw it in such a way that it could wrap itself around her and the dog. I was moving too fast to be certain if I had caught her, but I pulled, hard. If she was on the other end of the line, it would force her to return to safety.

Either way, I was faster, and reached the figure before she could have the chance. In the time, It took me to reach him, I had let loose two large Black Panthers who would move in rhythm with me. Once we were in a direct line of sight with the man, my creatures would pounce, and I would be anticipating a counter.

Shimete Stay back. Whoever he is, he still refused to reveal himself... and there's most definitely a reason.

Following behind the wolf companion, a tall, heavily-clothed man resting a massive blade over his shoulders would come into sight. Trees around the man had deep incisions into it -- it was a surprise in and of itself that the tree hadn't failed. The man hadn't taken notice to the two yet as they continued their approach; however, the man
did notice the two panthers moving towards him. In one fell swoop, both of the beasts would be knocked away with the side of the blade. If he could so easily put out an animal, what was Tetsuya in for?

"Name yerselves," the man would demand.

Shimete suddenly stops in front of the man; not because of Testuya’s fishing line or the intimating appearance of the man, but because of her right blue eye. She instinctively places a hand over it as it burned. It felt like it was on fire. Hakkai notices Shimete’s pain and was about to make a sharp turn around, but someone tied fish line around his neck and he hit the end of the line. He felt like he got cloth lined. Son of a… He chops the wire with his teeth and snaps it.

So you are one of us after all. Will you tell that big galoot of yours I don’t appreciate being put on a leash? He then gives a huff. Don’t worry about the burning doll; it will go away in a moment. Consider it a… Welcome to the family. The pain starts to go away and she removes her hand. She then looks at it strangely; her hand had a dim glow. She wonders why she is glowing. Well that is your aura. You see all chakra users produce an access amount of chakra. Some of this extra chakra is pumped out into the air. Most creatures can’t see chakra, but we’re not like most creature see. In time you may be able to see chakra within a person’s body. However we can talk about this later. Someone asked you a question.

She looks at the man and gives a polite bow, "I am Nigiri Shimete, sir."

I wasn't a fool, if my panthers were pushed around so easily, I wasn't sure if I'd survive a hit. But I was already moving too quickly, the momentum I had generated didn't allow me to stop my attack. There was nothing I could do. I was flying towards him, and fist stretched out far ahead of my body.

I had only myself to blame, I was far too reckless, as ironic as it was seeing as how I was taken aback by Shimete recklessness just moments ago. I had no choice, but to brace myself mentally for impact. I knew whatever happen next, I was the one that was going to get hurt.

The large man would sidestep, leading Tetsuya to punch the side of the massive blade and fall from the impact stopping movement. The blade would move from its resting place to where Tetsuya now laid. A laugh would escape his lips, growing more and more obvious until the point where it seemed as though the man were crazy. "Punch first, think later," another 'ha' would make it through, "not bad, kid. Now git up 'fore I change mah mind," the man would order, the massive blade still focused on the shinobi as the man turned to face Shimete and her wolf.

"Looks here like we got at least one o' ya who can think. Now speak, girl -- Shimete -- what y'all doin' in the nasty ol' wood?" At this point, he wasn't even worried about Tetsuya, despite his claim to have liked them. The man would turn his sword away from them, only to swing it around, falling one of the trees beside him as he brought the blade around to rest again on his shoulders.

Shimete is a servant, so fighting out of fear is not something she would do. With the stranger sword demanded respect and she will give it to him. She would like to ask the man of his name but it was not her place to ask. “We are searching for a deity swordman-sama, one of mischief and mayhem. He is imprisoned under the mountain, but we believe a traitor of my clan seeks to free him. If he is free who knows what might happen.”

Hakkai growls angrily, What! That blasted little monkey is free? She tricked Mother Moro into wearing the cursed collar that prevents her from taking life. He disgraced my family and he will pay! If I see him I will tear out his throat. Hakkai snapped barked and growled as he spoke to Shimete, obviously getting too worked up.

“He can take many forms and goes by many names. He is not an evil god, but his tricks do tend to get out of hand.”

I nursed my wounded hand as I scrambled to my feet. The tree had splintered under the force of my attack, and my knuckles were a bit bruised. But the pain faded quickly, wasn't sure if I was that tough or if I had been hurt that badly. Whatever the case, I had packed some salve in my pack, and would be sure to apply some later.

He wasn't facing me, but I paid my respects anyway. I bowed deeply, and spoke my apologies. I was really nervous about this girl's safety, more than she seemed to be actually. I needed to calm down.

I let her explain our business, she knew it best.

"A deity? Like 'dem gods?" the man would ask, laughing as he did so. His massive blade which was resting on his shoulders began to slide down his back until the point where it nearly fell, the man catching it just as the tip of the blade touched the dirt below. "Kid, lemme tell ya' one thing: there ain't no gods down here, s'only one and 't's death. You wanna die, lil' girl? G'over to the lake down there," the man would point in the direction nearly directly behind them.

"Down there, yuh'll find a buncha cliffs with a cliff in the mid'l. In b'tween, you'll find uh big lake with uh buncha sharks and weird people. 'Dey're the closest to uh 'deity' -- 'ts the word, right? -- you'll find in 'dese parts." The man would turn around, as if to lead them to the area. "Dem people hit harder 'en I do, might be safer if I go too," he'd speak, walking ahead of them.

If the two agreed to follow the guy, they would all travel. The scenery would change, what was once a thin forest they were in became fields and fields became hills until they reached what seemed like four massive hills pushed together.

"'ere we are. I'll be waitin' down by the foots 'f 'dat hill," the man would point to the hill closest to the three. "Where yuh go now is nun'v'mah business, call fer me if yuh need me," the man would state, walking off as he did so.

Now the two were where they might find information regarding the deity they searched for. They had free reign to search the hills and the things in them as freely as they wanted to.

Okay, there's four hills and a lake you can search.

Hill 1 and Hill 3 have small villages on them.
Hill 2 and Hill 4 have some people on them you could talk to.
You can also visit the lake.

Hopefully the people her can point them in the right direction of the monkey god’s prison or at least be able to tell if he was free. Surely these small villages would be the first targets of the monkey god’s pranks. Now the question was which hill to go to first for the lake was out of the question. She may be brave but she is not stupid enough to go looking for trouble. She walks towards the second hill where a group of people congregated. She comes up to a man and asks, “Hello, I am searching for a deep cave. Is there any caves nearby here?”
