Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

Masa's mess making Dojo

Restriction- Can be purchased up to three times
Opportunists have mastered the art of precision attacking, knowing just when and how to catch the opponent off-guard with their attacks. It is very difficult into tricking one with your movements, masters as they are in the art of it already.
Effect: +1 accuracy (+3 acc)

Slippery Mind - Passive (3 points)
As used to their own tricks as they are, it's very difficult to fool an Opportunist with other tricks and illusions. So, too, is it more difficult to put them under Genjutsu than the average ninja.
Effect: +2 to Genjutsu Save and awareness rolls.

Sneak Attack - Passive (3 points)
Restriction- C Rank and up
Many honor-bound fighters will make sure that their opponent is ready and aware before beginning a fight. Not so with the Opportunist. A turned back is an open target for them, a chance they don’t dare pass up.
Effect: All the user's attacks have a 10% chance of being a Sneak Attack. All Sneak attacks gain +1 Critical and deal x2.5 damage upon a Critical hit; this does not stack with other critical damage modifiers.

Flash Counter - Jutsu (1 point, 1 to rank up) 2 points
Restriction- A-Rank and Up
This jutsu is the ultimate counterattack; defensive and offensive at the same time, leaving no openings and at the same time exploiting all of the enemy’s openings. In the blink of an eye, the user can evade any attack and appear behind the enemy, attacking immediately with utter impunity.
Rank 1: The user automatically dodges the next attack directed at them and appears behind the attacker. They may then strike with 4 Basic Melee attacks or attack with any level 1-4 jutsu for .5 AP less. These attacks count as sneak attacks, and cannot be countered, detected, or auto-dodged.
Rank 2: The user automatically dodges the next attack directed at them and appears behind the attacker. They may then strike with 6 Basic Melee attacks or attack with any level 1-6 jutsu for 1 AP less. These attacks count as sneak attacks, and cannot be countered, detected, or auto-dodged.
Cost: 2500 chakra and 2.5 AP
Counter Disarm - Passive (2 points)
Restriction- C Rank and up
In close combat, whenever a mistake is made, there is the opening to disarm an enemy of their weapon, or cripple an unarmed opponent. That is something an Opportunist knows how best to take advantage of.
Effect: Whenever an opponent misses a melee attack (melee taijutsu included; all hits must miss for one disarm attempt per jutsu, not one disarm attempt per missed hit), the user may attempt to disarm them at -1 melee accuracy. On a full hit, the user grabs the weapon, otherwise the weapon is flung away. If the enemy is unarmed, the user can attempt to cripple their arms or hands at -4 accuracy; if successful, it will increase the called shot rank by one. This penalty does not stack. This may only be done once per round.

Feint - Dependent Special Move (2 points)
Sometimes a fast attack isn't always the best attack. An Opportunist can prime themselves to strike at exactly the right moment for maximum effect.
Effect: The user may add a stealth check to one of their melee attacks; if successful, it is treated as a Sneak Attack, otherwise it is used normally. This may only be done once per round successfully.

Sniper - Modification (2 points)
Restriction- Requires Called Shot
When attacking an enemy by surprise, they cannot react, cannot cover there weaknesses. In that moment, it is extremely easy to hit vital areas. Taking advantage of this, an Opportunist can hit any chosen area with surprising ease.
Effect: When making called shots while in Stealth mode, The user suffers no accuracy penalty.

Counterattack - Passive (3 points)
Restriction- B Rank and up
Whenever an enemy misses a swing of the sword or a thrust of the fist, they overextend slightly and leave an opening. In this opening is the chance to strike back and change the course of battle.
Effect- Whenever the opponent misses a melee attack on the user (melee taijutsu included; they may only counter once per jutsu), the user may counterattack for their unarmed damage at no cost. This has no limit, but it only uses basic strikes.

1. Cane Sword-
Description- This black cane looks innocent to the eye, but beneath it lies a blade as sharp as any. The handle of the cane/sword flows smoothly into the sheathe and is straight.

Masa had been trying to work on her ninjutsu for the longest while. She was a ninja but she still preferred her sword. However, due to her injury, she knew she needed to change up her fighting style if she was going to survive as an ANBU. She had been promoted to Sennin by the new Mizukage and she was going to prove herself.

She steadied herself and did a series of handsigns. A prison of water appeared in her hand. If she could catch someone in it, that would be a great skill to have but somehow it did not seem enough. Masa sighed to herself aas she continued to make handsigns and go through all of her ninjutsu. It was when she used her fire jutsu right after her water jutsu that she noticed something. When her fire jutsu hit her water jutsu, steam would erupt as the water evaporated.

'Huh. That is something.' Masa thought. 'I can control water and fire. What is stopping me from controlling water in a different form?'

She then tried both her water and fire jutsu together, and when the water vapor was in the air, Masa tried to control the steam. She failed.

'Maybe I can combine the two inside of me? Maybe I can mix that cool and hot inside of me and maybe something will come out.' Masa thought

So she stood in her backyard, her eyes closed and in deep focus. In her right hand , she focused her natural affinity of water and in her left the burning sensation of fire. As she weaved handsigns, she imagined the two colliding and water vapor being released. She finished the handsigns and opened her eyes.

In front of her was a thick mist. Normally, being the village she was in, this was not a big deal, but the mist surrounding her was much thicker and harder to see through. However, she could also feel her chakra in the water vapor.

'Can I control it?' Masa wondered to herself and she used her chakra to make the Mist more thick and before her, the mist deepened. As she released her chakra, the mist lessened until it was gone.

'How interesting... and exciting.' Masa thought, her eyes glinting in the grey afternoon. 'Now how can i mix this with my sword play?'

She did not stop until the moon had risen and was high in the sky and by then, she had learned a new way of fighting. She slept soundly that night, knowing she had a new way of defending Mist.

1 Insight
Being an ANBU required constant alertness. When Masa was still in the Academy, she was taught to always have an eye out and to be aware. As such, Masa's keen eyes have served her well during her missions, especially when it came to hitting an opponent. This is what made her such a deadly swordswoman and deadly with a blade. Every time she swung, her blade would find its mark in the enemy. Her training would include trying to hit moving objects with her sword and she got so good with her blade, she could throw a teacup into the air and slice it into two before it touched the ground again. As Sennin, Masa's sight would help her keep a sharp eye out on the Mizukage and her ANBU.

2 Acrobatics
A key arsenal in any shinobi skill, Masa trained herself in acrobatics when she was a lowly ANBU in training. Being stealthy was one thing but the best defense is not being in the way of an attack. Masa would train in a small forest, jumping from tree to tree, avoiding obstacles she made herself. She would spend a lot of time at the medical center due to her failings of her own obstacle course, but she always returned and completed them. It was thanks to her skill that when Masa received her injury that she would still be able to move like she does. The fact she can move and jump around like she does is testament to her ability as a shinobi.

3 Slashing physical style
If Masa was known for one thing while serving as an ANBU, it was her skill with a blade or anything that could slash really. Her skill started young in the academy when she picked up a wooden katana. Her skill with a blade allowed her to easily excel in ANBU. She would constantly push herself against the more experienced ANBU until there were few who could keep up with her skill. Her skill has matured and her swordmanship has improved with age. She may have had to change it slightly so she could use a cane sword instead of a katana, but in her hands, any blade is deadly.

4 conservative motion
Masa was always a "go with the flow" type of person and still is. However, since her injury, she has learned that even a slightly mistake could cause the biggest mistakes. AS such, she has put much time aneffort into her battle strategy to be as efficient as possible when facing an opponent. It has been hard and many training nights ended with Masa in a bar drinking away her failures. However,she has finally developed the skill she needs to maximise her attack and defense with as little movement as possible. This not only protects her, but it allows her to fight for longer without her foot causing her pain.

5 bull’s strength
To underestimate Masa's strength is to walk into a fight with her with both hands tied behind your back. Back when she learned the ways of the sword, she deliberately picked the heaviest weapons she could. On occasion, she would even add weights to her arms while swinging the heaviest sword she could find. There were many times when she was younger where the next day she could barely lift her arms to her midriff but though years of practice, her arms have adapted to the weight of the sword she practiced with. Her lean arms hide the true strength she has and it suits her just fine because her cane sword is much lighter than her old katana. As such, her attacks hit with much more force than they did before and her enemies tend to bleed more as well.

One of the ways Masa's fighting styles has changed is that she aims to weaken her opponent in anyway she can. She knows how dangerous an injured limb can do. The practice dummies she went though after she returned from that mission would be missing arms and legs. Other places, like the neck were also good locations for her blade to strike and she would use her speed to her advantage. When she sparred against her fellow ANBU, they made sure they were wearing extra padding on their legs and arms, otherwise they would be walking around with a heavily bruised limbs from their training. Those who face her in real combat get worse than buises with her newly improved skill.

7 nimble hands
Since her legs were not as fast as she had been, Masa decided that she needed to train her upper body. Her arms were already fast due to her training as a swords woman but she decided that if she could make hand signs fast enough, she might be able to use ninjutsu while holding her weapon. Deciding this was the best course of action, Masa trained holding her cane while performing ninjutsu. At first, she was glad she did not draw her blade because she hit her arms a lot of the time, leaving welts. Welts were better than cuts after all. After weeks of training, she finally got the knack of it and upgraded to using her sword. after a few nicks, she was good to go. Masa used her skill in a fight with am escaped murderer and the murderer was quite surprised to see an armed Masa use a fire jutsu. Needless to say, it was the last thing he saw.

8 Jutsu creator
Part of her training as a swords woman was her skill to link together techniques. Her fluid movement from one slash to the next allowed her to overwhelm weaker opponents and cause higher ranking swordsmen to pause. This skill of hers was the result of hours of swinging a sword and going over techniques until she collapsed. They started with a simple one two slash combination. As she grew older and made her way through the ranks of ANBU, she was using higher ranking techniques together and could easily switch from one technique to the next with no pause. As Sennin, she has mastery over many sword techniques and she can link almost any of them together.

9 Stalker
Masa's ability to sneak around was one of the reasons why the ANBU choose her to become an AIT. She always had a knack of sneaking up on her classmates and , on the occasion she was being extra mischievous and a teacher was not paying attention, sneak up on her teachers and scare them. As an AIT, she passed all her stealth courses with ease. When she was an ANBU, she was always sent out on the stealth missions, further improving her skills. Even with an injured foot and cane, Masa can easily stalk her prey if she feels up to it. At the very least, she is still very light on her feet and how she keeps her cane silent, well that is a secret only known to her.

10. Unarmed- physical style
A common skill taught to shinobi is the hand to hand combat. Masa was no exception, but she decided that she liked the idea of having a backup just encase her sword was not available. After each of her sword lessons, she would practice an equal amount of time with her fists. She learned many styles and it allowed her to be better prepared encase of an ambush. In ANBU, she learned more deadly techniques and her arsenal of kicks and punches increased. Her form slightly changed after her injury, but her speed did not change. Again, her deadliest aspect was how fast she could change between styles.

The day was hot, but yet Masa was pushing herself. Upon mastering her Vapor style, she was determined to make more advancements. The more she trained, the better she could help protect the village. These were dangerous times and any leg up she could have would be needed in the coming storm. Masa, in her training clothes of a light, white material, was sweating, even as a gentle breeze played across her face.

'Again.' Masa thought as she formed more hand signs. From her palms a great gust came forward and then she quickly followed up with a water jutsu. For a few seconds, it made a small water funnel, which cooled her off slightly but was no where being an attack.

'No. That is not the way.' Masa thought glumly, thinking of another way water and wind could be combined. 'Water has three forms. Liquid, which I already am a master of, gas, which is what I made when combined my fire and water jutsu, and ice. How do you make ice? You freeze water of course but how do you do that?' Masa thought.

Masa used a water jutsu to make a puddle in front of her. Masa stared into her reflection and then it hit her. Forming more hand signs, she used a strong wind jutsu and while the water did not freeze, upon sticking her finger in the water, notied how it was chilled.

'So obvious. I must be getting old.' Masa thought as she turned her thoughts inward and tried to feel what it was like to harness both water and wind at the same time. In one hand, she imagined the ocean, how it could be calm, tranquil and peaceful. In the other hand, she thought about a day like today, calm, cool, the flowing a the breeze. As she brought her hands together, she would imagine the wind blowing on the calm surface with the intent of cooling it. Slowly in her mind's eye, she saw the water cooling until she saw the first speck of ice forming. Waiting for a few extra seconds, she would release the jutsu even as she felt extremely cold on this warm day. The jutsu would release and in her hand, a disk of ice formed.

'Not quite an effective ninjutsu, but it is a start at least. This should give me an advantage when it gets to get colder in the village. Not to mention my enemies are in for a cool treat before I cut them up.' Masa thought, a grin on her face.

Masa would spend the next few hours trying to perfect the combination between water and wind. Occasionally, the jutsu would come out as slush, too much water, and sometimes humid air, too much wind. Finally, she would find that perfect mix and she would have a new technique to utilize.

'Finally. I think I have it. Now I should use it in combat. I wonder if my fellow ANBU would mind a spar?' Masa thought, looking in the direction of The Abyss. 'I remember my sparring days of old. Hopefully, my current ANBU will like the idea.'

Gaining ability- Healing Factor
Masa's training in the medical field was not the best it could be. However, she knew enough to know about healing from chakra. Originally, she thought that chakra healing could heal everything but that proved to not be true due to her foot injury. Still, that did not stop Masa from trying. Every day, she would try to focus on her chakra so it could heal her. Sadly, her foot remained the same but a curious side effect has happened. Whenever she is hurt in other places, her chakra seems to rush to that area and heal it, even if she is in a fight. While not the result that she wanted, Masa was happy with the results of her training. That combined with her stubbonness meant that she could fight for Mist even longer.
