Had his sentence been too harsh, even to someone who by all rights could be deemed an adult? "Hmm." Yoshihisa couldn't shake off the feeling that he was to be more understanding off Izumi's situation even if it meant putting himself at risk: The boy had no aura about him that he was master to the many aspects that came with maturity, on the contrary appearing quite the innocent mind in the older shinobi's eyes. He had entrusted him to Rokkoyō as the caretaker of choice, acknowledging that he was the wiser individual when it came to speaking directly from the heart and yet the nagging voice in the back of his head wouldn't let him forget it had been a cowardly move not to correct his own mistakes as he should have.

Before his mind could falter to itself in the continuous struggle that was his life Yoshihisa felt a hand resting on his shoulder, causing his head to snap around to face whomever had managed to sneak up to him in his moment of vulnerability. "Umakaki-san?" It took several seconds for the fact that his student and summon had returned to settle in, just staring vacantly from one to the other as he couldn't seem to process the words to address them. When he eventually did, his eyes were fixated on Izumi's as he spoke, trying to play the field in his efforts to see if anything had changed in their absence. "You have returned with quite some time to spare, so you must be at least somewhat confident in your answer." His brows had come together in a light frown that expressed his curiosity on the matter, perhaps a level of curiosity too great for a teacher who shouldn't get his hopes up too much for the answer he expected. Then again, it would be a rather blatant lie if he said he was invested purely for the sake of his student at this point.

His lips curved into a patient smile as it became apparent that there was no point to stalling any longer. "If that is indeed the case then if you would, Izumi-san: What is the answer I seek?" Wherever he had failed as a teacher to the boy he could hopefully make up for by being there for him in his journey from here on out. And for the first time in years the sense of a life to live enveloped him to the point where he abandoned the subtleties of his mind in favor of feeling with his heart. "I actually don't think I have to hear it." Before Izumi could react he tried to pull him into a cozy embrace, his once more gloved hands gently running through his long white hair. The fallout from his actions was something he would face when the time came, but as Rokkoyō's words rang clearly through his head he knew it was a risk worth taking if it meant it would make at least someone else happy for just the briefest of moments.

"I think he may be in need of it even more than you, Yoshihisa."

Izumi was busy walking with Rokkoyö back towards the place they had left the other. slowly he started to bite at the tip of his thumb. 'Am I really doing this all alright..?' Those thoughts were running through his head. Slowly they were getting closer back to where they left him... and as Izumi stood there, Rokkoyö went in closer. It seemed like the other was shaken out of thoughts so harshly that he needed a couple of moments to come around even. In these moments Izumi started to think of more scenario's that could happen... First couple scenario's were yes ones... the others were no and the no's got worse in his head and he started to scratch his lower arm. Feeling more and more nervous as time was ticking by. "Y-yea..." Izumi said with a voice that was shaking.

"T-the answer... that you seek is that--" That moment... The moment he wanted to answer but was unable... Too quick for him to notice he suddenly felt the warmth of the other around his body, an embrace with the other's fingers running through his hair... Moments later, seconds later. That funny feeling in his stomach had gotten really hard to ignore, his muscles which were first tensed were slowly growling less in tension and slowly the embrace was returned. As the young one of them both suddenly turned shy he started to hide his face into the others chest and his face was beet red. He didn't get the words out right now, being too flustered as for the moment. All the boy was able to do was actually hug him, hold him tight as his heart was making overwork in his throat. Moments later... he tried to take a step back, a blush covering even his nose... Yet as he tried to speak his voice was slightly trembling and he lost confidence in his voice... So instead he started to sign it. "I... I think... I like you... Ryokkoyö explained... What loves is... and... All the things connect... I...I cannot stop thinking about you... I... Cannot focus... and... your the first with who I have this.." the signing was made a bit sloppy as his hands were trembling and moments later he was holding them both and down in order to not let them shake so much from nervousness and what not more right now... His ivory white eyes started to look up to the other, then down... then slight back up. Izumi really was afraid for a turndown... but he had said it right now and was wondering if this was the thing that the other wanted to teach him. That this was it... because these feelings were true. The feelings were with what he had learned the most right now.

Resting with his head on top of Izumi's and gently pulling the boy further into the warm embrace as he attempted to pull away, Yoshihisa quitely listened to the whole of the confession as it was stammered out. Or more accurately as far as Izumi seemed to be able to take it without what he predicted would be him fainting on the spot. "I see, so I am your first.." Their eyes met once more, his hawk-like gaze seemingly peering deep into the younger shinobi's soul as his heart for once tried to provide him with the means to act upon the scenario at hand. "I can't just break your heart for no good reason, now can I?" Without another word he pressed a tender kiss on Izumi's forehead as an answer to all the questions that hadn't yet been asked but he knew were meant to be.

With the weight of the knowledge that he just let the last bridge burn pressing down on him the most glaring of flaws in his 'plan' had become more apparent than ever, the air being violently choked out of his lungs when he just thought about it. "I will have to seek audience with your father if I were to accept your feelings." His most dreaded of thoughts didn't show on the surface however, his suave exterior only seeming to have eye for Izumi and the desire to make him feel at ease in what he knew was a whirlwind of emotions he never minded until now. The hug briefly tightened before he let go, one of his hands sliding upwards to rest on the boy's cheek now. With a reassuring smile playing on his lips, he was just for a moment able to cast aside even his own doubts, the doubts that he had taken for facts ever since he had gotten detached from the world around him. If he had for whatever reason deserved to die for his transgressions today, at least he could in good spirits joke about it that for the first time in ages he was actually invested in the cause.

"It means that this time around it is me who should provide you with an answer by the time we meet again." He stroked the cheek ever so gently, the way it had turned deep crimson almost made him afraid of burning his hand upon contact. It had been an odd day, one that he had not expected to take such a sharp turn, and yet he minded it not: If it meant he would be able to cast aside the darkness that lurked within his heart he could only be eternally grateful, nor did he have any intentions to pass off opportunity to love someone who seemed like he had longed for him. Someone to protect, to shelter from the worst this world had to offer, but most of all, someone to desire with all of his essence until his last waking moment. He could have been worried that he did not know whether it would be so, if it was meant to be something that lasted, but all he could see through the haze of love's blinding light were the white strands of hair dancing in front of him.

Izumi had stammered out the words he had placed before the other. It felt so save into the others arms in a way that he couldn't even explain it right now. It was altogether so strange that he had only just now learned what his feelings had been trying to tell. "I... like you..." He muttered after the first part but was a bit taken off guard by the sweet tender kiss on his forehead. The blush grew to the maximum on his cheeks and nose. He watched the other in awe of how this was going currently. "I will have to seek an audience with your father if I were to accept your feelings." A soft smile came towards Izumi's face... He just hoped his father would be understanding enough for this to be allowed... since it wasn't a most common thing he already was knowing that. "Well... Let's hope that... I am thankful for you to teach me two things... One to learn me how to cloak myself... But the most important one to look into myself and find the emotions I never knew about. The feelings of Love..." Izumi said with a brighter smile.
"I... want to thank you..." He said his words almost a whisper as he stood there... Being very shy at the other and stood upon his toes. Leaning more against the other and went a bit towards the side. His own lips softly touching the others cheek as he returned the small smooch. It turned, however, Izumi fully flustered that he did so and hugged the other and hiding his face into the shoulder. Yup... The shy innocent thing was hiding by the first thing he had done towards the other person.

"While I wouldn't decline the opportunity to make this moment last longer, this was supposed to be to help you master what I initially taught you." And with those words the fuzzy feeling inside his head had been lifted and his subsequent crashing down to earth was accompanied by the sense that with some twists and turns he could say that he had acted in the best interest of his teachings by erasing the boy's doubts: It was a quaint way of saying that he would be in hot water if this all ended up in failure, as from the viewpoint of a professional he had no justification whatsoever for acting the way he had. His glances darted towards Rokkoyō, only realizing now that the monk's eyes had been inspecting him from essentially the moment he had returned, only adding to the knowledge that he could have done without after today's events.

In his efforts to mend what could still be saved in the wake of all this, Yoshihisa once more adopted the air of authority -although this time around he worked in a sly wink towards Izumi- and beckoned his summon over to his side in preparation. "For the record I can now state my confidence in your ability to pass the last stage of our training exercises, entailing the masking of your chakra in an hostile environment while under the watchful eye of a seasoned sensor." He had not even been halfway through his sentence or the monk had vanished into thin air, something which didn't seem to be any cause for the shinobi to be interrupted as he continued regardless. "Rokkoyō has gone up ahead and just like you, he is not to make his presence known unless it is to call you out on weak stealth. If you can manage to remain hidden for up to an hour you'll be deemed passed, however getting caught means you will have to start over. So if there aren't any questions I will start the timer without any further delay." Taking this moment to break character for just a little while, a playful grin grew from ear to ear before he decided it was probably not the right time to mess with the boy's head too much. "You can do it, Izumi-chan.~"

The glorified game of hide and seek had begun, and by the time he was once again alone with his thoughts it already felt like an entire lifetime had passed. He had allowed the fuzzy warmth to seep back in gradually, recalling the way Izumi's words had connected to him and how so much unlike himself he had felt. A radiant smile developed as he mumbled his words over what he could have sworn was Rokkoyō's voice marking the first slip-up of the trail.

"No. I think I am the one who has to thank you.."

Izumi had hidden his face against the other after that little cute peck on the others cheek... He wanted to return what he had done, but wasn't able to reach more higher up and thus it was one on the cheek. As time started to shift around Izumi too had to release the other from his grasp. "...?" He had already forgotten about the origin of these whole teachings... Something that he didn't easily do. Slowly even he looked towards the monk that still held that brightness around him. It seemed that after the other did blink towards him and it turned Izumi still rather shy. This was all new...

"For the record I can now state my confidence in your ability to pass the last stage of our training exercises, entailing the masking of your chakra in a hostile environment while under the watchful eye of a seasoned sensor."
The words of him were like a wake up call he kind of needed right now... But all he could do was right now was focus back on the mission instead of focussing on him. He would slowly nod on those words and listen further towards the next set of words. "Rokkoyō has gone up ahead and just like you, he is not to make his presence known unless it is to call you out on weak stealth. If you can manage to remain hidden for up to an hour you'll be deemed passed, however getting caught means you will have to start over. So if there aren't any questions I will start the timer without any further delay." With a firm nod, Izumi would look towards him, nod once more. "I can do that... N...no problem.." He said a little bit with a shaking voice of what had happened before, but he was at least a slight bit confident. "Chan..? chan??!' His voice reached high again as he said that and Izumi quickly covered up his mouth. He decided not to say too much about it... and started to do the lesson. Just before he went into the trees he had masked his chakra and started to be on the move. The rustles of the leaves were sometimes the only thing you could hear from him. Slowly he tried to move as less visible and keep his chakra hidden as best of possible, but the only judge there was that was the kami being that was lingering around. "Alright... can do this... I can do this... But why the freckles did he call me chan?!" Were the thoughts running through the boy as he kept his eyes normal instead of using more chakra that he would need to suppress... So his hawkeye gaze was doing all the work now.

"Did he tease you?" Much like his master had done at the very start, this time around the kami was hanging upside down from a branch and going by his voice it seemed he could just barely suppress his laughter at seeing Izumi's flustered expression. "For the second attempt, you may want to consider leaving your Byakugan on. It's undeniably a strong asset to have even when you're supposed to be in hiding: For the trade-off of using slightly more chakra you'll possibly prevent me from getting the drop on you, meaning your strategic reasoning is an equal part of the equation. Keep that in mind for when you're out in the field. Okay, restart!" Vanished without a trace, Izumi would once again find himself alone to contemplate his new course of action.

This pattern would repeat itself about a dozen times, and while the young shinobi had eventually improved to the point where he was but a few minutes short of reaching the set limit of an hour, time and again Rokkoyō got the better of him for despite the increased visual prowess granted by the Byakugan the creature still moved around like an enigma. Nighttime had set in gradually, and the cover of darkness, while initially having almost been a non-factor could now easily give Izumi the edge during his latest and quite possibly last attempt. "Impressive progress." With the hours having sluggishly crawled on by Yoshihisa was rather quick to evaluate the developments in person rather than from afar as he usually would have, as there was just something inherently satisfying about providing at times much needed emotional support in between the attempts. As a teacher however, he was proud to see the leaps in progress being made, and although he would not be too quick to voice his opinions it seemed like there was a lot more natural affinity for the subject matter on display than he had first anticipated. With time and effort the boy would without a doubt leave him in the dust, another inner thought he wouldn't be too vocal about just yet.

A quick peek at the timer revealed that the last twenty minutes of the trial were approaching, with thus far neither had revealed themselves. While he was almost constantly being kept up to date by his summon it was hard to imagine what the last half hour had been like for Izumi, knowing that there was so much pressure upon him to succeed. Then again, whatever the outcome was going to be, he felt like there was little left to teach him in order to get better at this, meaning that in a sense he had succeeded either way. Something that was meant to be celebrated: Worrying about the next chapter in his life that would inevitably come around after all that had happened today could wait until the morrow.

The boy had been muttering, so much muttering that on the first try he actually lost track until the moment he was caught. His gave went up and pupils smaller. "Hn--" He froze for a moment that he was caught this quickly. "O-of course... I... am a he... and he nicknamed me a chan..." and there the pout came, he didn't like or dislike it right now. He knew obviously about his build, which is why he was also carrying a non-sex name. "huh... byakugan..?" He asked he didn't quite understand how using more would result in using less... But he did start to try it right after the other had been saying it. There was some improvement... But it was hard... This whole class was hard.

The rustling of the leaves was like a normal sound by now, that once a twig snapped Izumi would start to look up. His movements were more and more in sync... and he started to hide better, even run a few parts to go and from. Everything was hostile for his mindset right now... Yet how the evening was starting to set.. and the many mistakes from before.. All he could do right now is do his best. Even when his eyes started to sting and a small idea popped into his head... One he should be careful of. 'If... I overuse the Byakugan it can backfire... It may backfire on me as glass eye... a treatment that goes past with rest and time... but that time I do not have... I NEED to make it this time... and otherwise... rest...' An idea of defeat... one he hated but still had to accept it none the less. "Tsk.." And with that single sound he started to move around before he had given away his position. 'Just... a little more...' Izumi had been using tricks like charka orbs, which would release bits of chakra to throw the other off his own path, clones that would poof when almost found out... He was really giving it his all on this last try.

In a secluded section of the forest Rokkoyō had taken to doing little more than observing the flow of chakra surrounding him for the past few hours. As if petrified he sat there with not a muscle moving unless it was deemed absolutely necessary, for while he could easily have decided to search in the flesh it was not the nature of the trial at hand: Likening it to chess, in a sense it was not as much about thinking a few turns ahead as it was to play out an entire game essentially without having to move a single piece. Yet for someone so sharp of wit he had made the rookie mistake of letting the first impression count for more than it should have, and what had been a lobsided and repetitive series of events had made the quite drastical shift towards an actual challenge by the time he was confronted with the possibility that he was going to be beaten in his own game.

”Understood, Yoshihisa, I will be making one final attempt and whatever the outcome may be is to be known soon enough.” The prospect of defeat didn’t scathe the kami in the slightest, actually feeling an overwhelming sense of pride towards the boy who against his initial instincts had turned things around for himself. That was not to say that he had thrown in the towel, as something like that would only cheapen the victory for whomever came out on top. With renewed vigor his mind’s eye continued the search through every nook and cranny of the nearby woods and it wasn’t long until he had taken notice of the clones being scattered around by Izumi. Their purpose was immediately obvious to the monk and yet he found he was not in the position anymore where he could safely ignore them if he wanted to get anywhere from here on out. ”Ten minutes left, down to the second.” He had sensed Yoshihisa when he joined his company for the last leg of the journey, the young man avoiding eye contact in favor of his own efforts to search for Izumi, although it was more an excuse not to be pestered with any of the more troublesome questions as he didn’t expect to be the one to tip the scales.

Rokkoyō rose to his feet and for what he intented to be the last time he went to pursue his target without leaving as much as a trace in his wake. The clones were quickly dispersed, having clear vision on their location and while he had not expected the real body to be among them he now had to admit that he was once more at a dead end with no way out in sight. ”He may still be close if his clones are here, which means..” Another scan of the vicinity revealed the chakra signature he was searched for, weakened and so thinly spread that it appeared the boy had run through his resources as well at this point and was just waiting out the clock. As he approached the source he had to admit that it had literally been ages since someone had pushed him to his limits like this, and that while it may not have been today, for the next time he was most certainly expecting to be the one to draw the short straw. ”Really exemplary work, young one. I had honestly not expected for you to put up such a good fight, so that is a victory by itself.” His eyes were lit up with joy as he stood face to face with Izumi, knowing that if such strides were to continue into the future, the boy would one day be a shinobi truly worthy of respect. His implied smile turned to bellowing laughter however when he was once again faced with the fact that he shouldn’t be one to underestimate others even if he simply meant to be gentle: It turned out the clone he had taken for the real thing didn’t make for good company after it had gone up in smoke.

Knowing that there was nothing else to report to his summon as he had experienced his own failure first-hand, Yoshihisa dropped down next to his student with a careful smile on his face. He imagined he would find the other exhausted and instead of hurrying along the older shinobi slumped down next to him, looking up at the night sky as he tried to come up with what to say next. Honestly there was so much he could say, so much he could do to express how he felt and yet none of them appeared to be quite right. When he finally did speak it was but a hushed whisper as he locked eyes. ”Shall I walk you home when you think it is time to go back?” His smile broadened as he pulled Izumi into his arms and it seemed that from here on out he had no intention of letting go, all in the name of making up for the fact that he had not chosen to do this much earlier. And because he would have to tell a stone cold lie if he had to say he didn’t feel much more at ease like this than he had with anything else in a long time.

Izumi really pulled everything out of the box to outsmart the other. once the clone dispersed he knew their location already... The info he got back from it was helpful... But it wouldn't make much change at this given moment. He knew how low his own chakra reserves were right now... and to do tell the truth he even went dizzy on it. His body felt warm as it took a lot of tension.
With his body, he slumped down against the crust of the tree. The bark scratching in his back but the boy didn't mind anymore that much. His gaze was half-lidded with the byakugan still active. "Almost..." He whispered and breathed in a quickened phase. Suddenly, out of nowhere for the male, words came from his side and it almost caused him to jump. His teeth gritted as he wanted to make a teleportation jutsu, switch himself around with a log or anything that would be a possible outcome. Yet that chakra was one thing he didn't have anymore. From the sudden tensed sitting potion he lay down back again. "Pfuwah...." He was exhausted, done. Couldn't. ”Really exemplary work, young one. I had honestly not expected for you to put up such a good fight, so that is a victory by itself.”

He lost..? Track of time was something that went past himself, his gaze went up and tried to gamble the time it was currently. The branch moved once more as a sudden weight was added. "...." Izumi didn't speak just yet as he was watching them, slowly the veins of the byakugan fading and the young one's eyes stinging of fair use of them. ”Shall I walk you home when you think it is time to go back?” The words of the other were so kind, something he didn't see coming as mostly they just left him alone. "Mm...." Was a simple sound with a nod while he started to raise his hands to rub his eyes, getting rid of the irritation that was currently lingering. His body started to shift as he felt that he was being pulled in. The warmth of the other felt as a welcoming gift towards his body. A place he could call home... as a home wasn't exactly a place but someone... that was also what his heart tell, but it felt double-edged. A home was where it felt save... The Uchiha household felt save, but even more in his arms. "Sounds good..." He muttered and started to nuzzle against the other, burring his face into the shoulder of the other. "I like you..." Were the words muttered from him as he felt like he could stay here for a moment. Izumi was dozing a little but still staying awake. Slowly the male sat up more straight against him. It felt safe, trusting... new... A new kind of thing going through him. "I need to tell you one single thing... Please don't look at my body... I am healthy gaining weight..." He said because many, many people had already made problems with it and he was mostly sure the other already could have a gamble how it was. "I am on a special diet to gain weight healthy... Just... need to stick to it..." He muttered that last part out and in his mind, he was already thinking... he missed one of the five meals... In his mind, he shrugged this off and raised his head to give the other a small gentle peck on the cheek.

Not usually being one for coming off too strong, it took some time for Yoshihisa to give Izumi a response of his own. ”I like you too, and with time I know it can be even more than that.” It rolled off the tongue without a hitch, not a trace of doubt in his voice when he made the confession of his own. And while he knew that feelings like these needed their time to blossom, it was almost indescribable how much confidence he had in a good outcome, so very much unlike him and yet feeling whole because of this sensation all the same.

”What purpose would it serve if I didn’t look at your body, if that could only mean that I had a reason to doubt your conviction?” He leaned down until their eyes were level and as he locked gaze his hand softly pulled Izumi in until their foreheads touched. ”If anything, I have no desire but to help you keep that promise you’ve made to yourself.” The realization that it meant a lot for the boy to raise such a topic now had rightfully struck the heart, aware that whatever had caused it must have been especially tough on him, but despite it all Yoshihisa couldn’t help but smile that it all felt rather trivial: Izumi would no longer have to sit through it by himself, and he had no intentions of ever letting that be the case again. If they were to continue down this path, it would be just another trial for them to face together and to conquer together, as they would with the next. ”Although I really appreciate that you’ve chosen to confine in me, that means more than you know.”

He swore his heart skipped a beat when he received another peck to the cheek, and while it caused his entire body to tense up for but the briefest of moments he knew it was going to be something he could wholeheartedly get behind. Words escaped him, and he had enough restraint to be fully aware that to act now -no matter how innocent it may seem- was not going to be in their best interests for one reason or the other. The young man just sat there, taking in the scene at hand as he feigned interest in the moon, the dark blanket that was the night sky and the countless blinking stars that inhabitated it, all so that he wouldn’t have to worry Izumi more than he had to. It fell upon himself to take this a step further, and the more he thought it over, the more he realized that he wasn’t going to take ‘no’ for an answer, even if it meant the last trials he was going to face alone were as excruciating as he had imaginated them to be. Yoshihisa would not realize until much later that he had once more taken Izumi into his arms, trying to sooth his own trembling body and through his hoarse whispers he couldn’t help but blurt out the first thing to come to mind.

”Lets.. just stay here for a while, if you don’t mind..”
