From the looks of it the beast wasn’t looking for its cubs. With ferocity it lunged forwards with raised paws. “Holy shi-!” Akane instinctively jumped backward to avoid the beast's wide swipe. With some distance between them Akane held out her right hand at her side. Flurries of gold essence gathered around her hand, beginning to form her signature weapon. With expertise the large spear twirled in her hand before the spearpoint aimed directly at the bear's heart. Her grip around the polearm tightened, her heels dug into the dirt and her mind began to clear from all distractions. Her attention locked onto the center of the beast's chest. “I’ll show you the true definition of a broken heart.” She smirked.
Akane hopped back in a panic. In the heat of battle she always subconsciously held her breath. A horrid trait which always left her tense. She exhaled than inhaled, letting air pool back into her lungs and release in steady breaths she had to think quickly. The thunder of the beast's footsteps shook the forest. The fire that encased her brown hues grew wild. Backed to a corner of rocks Akane’s primal instincts took over. Fight or flight, but she’d never been known to back down. Her breathes grew heavier and again her spiral twirled in her hand before both hands gripped the pole with all their might.
Pearly white teeth grit together, brown hues dilated as allotted all her might and brainpower to focus on three points. The beast's hands, heart and head. It rose up once again, the gravel beneath her feet agitated as she blasted forward. A bloody barrage of dynamic pokes sliced and cut up the beast. Beast-blood spewed out and around, painting the ground, clothes and face of both contenders. Another right swipe tried to connect with her but this time she foresaw it. Akane dodged backward and onto the rockets that cornered her. With chakra infused to her feet she bounded off the rock. Her spear ruptured the hard skin and fur of the beast's paw. The sound of flaying tendons fueled her to press onward. As she continued forward through the air she retracted her spear and made one final attempt on the beast. Akane managed to fly overhead of the massive bear with her spear held high. It began to glow a radiant blue-gray hue as if absorbing her soul-essence through it. A wicked grin appeared on her lips and a beastly roar of her own mimicked the bears. The spear point lurched forward faster than a bolt of lightning to the top of its head.
Akane propped herself up with her polearm. Her right hand clutched her sliced arm to stop the bleeding, if only a little. “Run… Coward…” She murmed out, noticing her eyes growing listless. The voice in her mind remained silent. Akane had to get to the village. If she passed out from blood loss here she was as good as food for when the beast came back.
