Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Denji had been given a mission, he hadn't been on one for a while since mednin weren't really sent out unless they were needed, well at least the researchers that were the case. The other main mednin went out often, that's what they trained for. Denji didn't complain though, this was a research medicine, his job was to go out and find a herb. He remembers studying for days about herbal medicines, but he was nowhere near specialized in it, he did let them know, but they were short on staff so they handed him a herb book, and pointed it out to them. It was a tiny purple flower. The location was in a dangerous area, on top of that this was also a secret.

He wasn't allowed to let anyone know he was leaving, except for the gate people. This mission was for the ANBU, it wasn't that common for anbu to request from the medical branch, he wasn't allowed to know what this flower was for, but he could put two and two together. It was probably for research, medicine, and on top of it secret. He had a problem with this, but since he knew that this mission even existed, he wasn't allowed to deny it. Well, that's how he felt, the anbu were scary to him, the only reason why he decided to accept this mission was just to get it over with.

Denji was pretty excited, even though he'd be joined by two ANBU, he wasn't sure what rank they were, or anything about them. They were there for his protection, and to make sure he followed the rules, that's what he figured. Maybe this was training for them? Either way, he was made the leader of this makeshift team. He was to meet them outside the gates. He packed his backs, made sure he had the book, and a map. He remembered where to go, the map was for reference. He didn't mark it in case it was stolen by someone looking for any info on his village. If anyone saw two anbu, they'd assume that there was important info on them.

Denji waited for a mile outside the village for the other two show up, it was early morning the sun was just peaking over the mountains.

_________________________________________

Aya got up early in the morning, she was given a special mission, her first C-rank mission. A type of escort mission with the sense of danger. Ji got the same mission, Ryu was still in the hospital, and Uri was off doing something else, so it would just be the two of them. She was excited to go on a mission with Ji. Aya was informed that they'd be escorting Denji, her cousin. Was this a test? To see if she revealed her identity to her family? Maybe, but she wouldn't do it, even if they waived that rule. Either way, she was going on a mission with family and her best friend, even if denji wasn't allowed to know it was her under the mask.

It'd be easy to fool him since he didn't know how she acted, though she did act a little different with the mask on. She got up before the sun rose, and got int her anbu gear. Aya ate breakfast before she put her mask on. It was still a plain white mask. She placed her hair into a tight bun, this way it made it hard to see how long her hair actually was. She was good at keeping identifying features hidden. Even her freckles on her neck and any exposed spot were covered by a black mouth mask that attached to her shirt. Any other spot was easily covered with some makeup. She was the kind of Kunochi that was kinda annal about identity, despite not making up a code name right away. SHe did have one now, she finally thought of one that she liked.

Once Aya was ready, she waited a bit for Ji before they left for the meeting spot. She made sure her mask was tight, and she had all her tools.

___________________________________________

Once the two arrived they would see Denji waiting for them, he wasn't waiting long. Once he saw them he smiled and waved. "Hey! You guys are early, expected from the best of the best. You probably already know my name, but you can call me Denji." He introduced himself, clueless that he already knew the two. Their chakra's felt familiar, but he saw at least a hundred shinobi a night whenever it his week to work in the ER. It was possible he had treated them before.

Aya smiled under her mask, Ji probably knew she was smiling, since she already told him how excited she was for this mission. "Hello, Denji, I am Akutare." She said, and nodded. She couldn't give him any name, this would be her name with the mask on. Well, she might change it a few times, to be honest, no harm in that, the ANBU had tattoos to reveal their true identity anyways.

If Ji introduced himself Denji would wait for him to do so, either was he began to speak. "Nice to meet you both, I'm leading this mission, it is nice to have some company. We'll be heading into the danger zone, I won't say anymore out lout. But you two should have already been briefed on everything, if not, well you'll just have to go with the flow." He explained, then he turned and started walking, then running. The Journey was half a day away.

Eiji was up laying in a cot above the teahouse listening to the birds chirp alive to the sounds of the morning coming. He sat with a candle and a booklet. It was something he kept with him, a Bingo Book with a list of other operatives that he wanted to look into. Though, with this he knew that he was set to meet up with Aya within the hour. They liked to be daftly early to missions because it would always make them look better than the rest of the recruits, but not only that... They -were- the best of the best. As as such they would be held to a certain standard of work ethic than regular Genin or even Main Branch Chuunin. They were bred for greatness.

Eiji would make haste, not wanting to keep Aya waiting because she did have an anger unlike anything he'd see in anyone else. Or rather not so much anger, just power. Power was immesurable, he wasnt even sure he had seen the extent of her powers. At any pace he did like that he was getting a higher ranked mission in with his bestie, even if she seemed like she wanted to reject his advance towards her, but even if she did... it wouldnt change how he felt. But maybe his outlook on everything... who knew. At any pace he made his way, getting to the spot mere moments before her, but he hid himself underground.

"Tch, you think you got here first...", but the talking was short before they would head out. Eiji was adorned in his ANBU attire, mask tightly clamped unto his suit and armor. That way he didnt have to worry about it falling off in the midst of a mission. It'd happened before, and it'll be left at that. However, as they made their way to the mission proctor which happened to also be Denji. Knowing Aya was excited for this it was possible that she was smiling under her mask, oh how he wished to s-... shaking those thoughts he needed to get in the mode for the mission before speaking up, "...Hm, I'm Rei.", he had a voice changer under his mask as well but also a weird name but the meaning was quite ominous as to why he'd chosen such a name.

Nodding Eiji would be ready to go but with his weaponry at his disposal... this would be easy work. And with the Guardians empowering him with strength unimaginable, he would smile from under his mask as he'd simply state, "Shall we?"

Denji nodded to Rei, and Akutare, he knew he wouldn't be able to get to know these anbu but he was still going to be friendly.

Aya nodded to Ji and followed Denji. She was usually quiet on missions, she had an iron focus, most of the time at least, she was sometimes a jokester with some quips up her sleeve. She really couldn't be too serious for too long. it was a flaw, unless in a life or death situation.
Aya ran at Ji's and Denji's pace, she could probably make it to where ever they were going in an hour, maybe she was overestimating her speed. Like usually she started her snapshot jutsu. It was a habit now, snapshot then turn it into scrolls for records. She's snapshot almost every mission.

Denji didn't talk mostly because he didn't expect these two to respond. ABout three hours later, they were reaching the lower plains, and going into the Festering outlaw land, near where Aya grew up. Denji stopped, and to a look around. Big open plains. He took out the map to make sure they were going the right way. "We are heading the right way, but as soon as we enter the forest up ahead, we should go into the trees to make it harder for the scum around here to see us. I'd like to avoid a fight, but I'm sure any low life doesn't stand a chance against two anbu, and one Mednin that sucks at fighting. It is still early in the day so we should make it before sunset. I don't need a break any time soon." He explained in a whisper to the two. If they had another plan he'd be willing to listen to it. He was starting to get tired but, he wanted to get there sooner than later.

"Good plan, Rei, do you have anything to add to it?" Aya stated, Ji was always the strategist, her plans were... well she didn't actually make plans, she just sort of went with it. She wasn't afraid to follow someone's plan though.

Listening to Denji this would seem to be one of those typical missions. Though, Eiji didnt get typical missions. This was something that he would have to figure into his plans that would definitely change as the mission progressed but in the instance that he would have to go hard or go home he'd take the middle ground. As he was the king of Earth anyways. Looking to Aya he'd smirk under his mask, the air seemed to be more crisp on a day like this and he was still getting used to his ANBU Digs, but Aya passed the question unto him, what was the strategy for the day? Well, that depended upon many things, but if he had to generalize it he'd think of the chess board itself, each square having a level of probability with a necessary outcome depending on the choice with moving to said square. That probability was a singular move for many Pawns. However, they were not merely pawns. Two ANBU and a Dedicated Medic. More like a Bishop a rook and a Knight, and that would make for an interesting set of events.

"Hm, simple enough, being that you're a medic you might be best served as a means of Long ranged combat as well as extremely close combat. Just with thta simple assessment and knowing the skills of Akutare, they are skilled with Close to Medium ranged combat, While myself I can cover all three ranges effectively. However, my long ranged is best suited for diversions. So, with that notion in mind we can calculate that if I am in the middle and Akutare is in the front while you're in the back Denji-san, we'll have a higher chance of fending off anyone at any turn. No, The only thing we'll have a problem with are Long range ballistics. However, I doubt we'd be going against any of that as we're not in any time of war... So there would be no need to move those types of weapons across national boarders.", nodding once again he'd finish his long winded statement.

"If we get into a conflict... Denji, you will stay behind me, and I'll empower Akutare with a diversion attack while you and I give her a support and suppressing fire into the area where the Enemy is most concentrated. If the enemy is Two, we split them. If the Enemy is three, we identify the long ranged fighters and spread them out and force them to come forward or push them out of range. Same thing goes for every even number and Odd number accordingly." from there he'd finish up awaiting for their rebuttal. Wondering if he'd gone too far with his thinking on the subject.

Denji listened to Rei and nodded. Akutare wasn't the planner and she passed on giving input. "I can do far or near, being the back is the role of the medic anyways." Denji commented, then he turned towards the field. He was ready to go, but he couldn't help but feel like they should have seen someone by now. This field was near one of the slum cities, it' wouldn't be too hard to imagine children playing here, or people camping to get away from the waste. Nothing looked wrong with the field, nothing he could see, but the grass was hip high so it was hard to see if anything was hiding out there.

Seeing Denji had nothing more to say, Aya took the lead and made her way into the field. "Let's go then." Aya stated, she stated assuming the other two would follow behind her. Denji followed behind Rei once they left. With the two behind her Aya kept at a pass she hoped they could keep up with, it was easy for her to go too fast. But she kept herself in check by listening to their footsteps.

The field seemed to go on for about a mile, right past this was their goal. Suddenly Aya fell, assumingly tripped, Hopefully, Ji stopped fast enough, because the ground opened up under her, a Pit trap, with spikes at the bottom. Aya caught herself on the side of the wall and Climbed out. "Well that was hard to see," In honesty if she had been paying attention to the ground then she wouldn't have fallen. "I wonder who set these?" She asked out loud before turning around. She didn't feel like sticking around. She was now the lead to make sure the other two knew where to go. They were in the middle of the field so going around wasn't an option, She wondered how many of these they just barely dodged.

Denji stopped when the line stopped he took a chance to look into the hole. Wooden spikes, some were bloodstained. Nobody that meant someone came to take the bodies out of the holes. Denji didn't say anything since it wasn't important to the mission, it was obvious these were man-made. He followed along once they started moving again. "Its probably one of the local gangs, a way to keep people out of their territory. " He gave his input, though who else could it be, not many other types of people here.

Aya was careful and a bit slower than before. Still fast enough to moth through the field but she didn't want to get caught in a trap again.
Soon they were close to the tree lines, Aya sensed a presence suddenly in the trees and stopped. An Arrow shot out of the tree and hit AYa, or at least that's what it looked like at first, she did her step flash which leaves an image of herself, Ji knew this technique, the substation jutsu, but she was fast enough to not need an item as a sacrifice. "Archers in the trees." Aya stated towards the other two. They were the long range, well aya could do long range too but she was better at close combat.

Denji moved to get ready to attack, His justu tray was limited, but he had a few long ranged jutsu he was able to use easily.

At their pace things would seem to drag, but missions werent always about the Rah Rah Rah Boom boom Pow like some fighting missions were. Some were deceptively easy even for their threat levels. Sometimes you never met the threat people were worried about. Some missions were just walking and scouting the land... Thats what Eiji thought this would be until Aya tripped. Eiji smiled as she caught herself, "Hm, didnt get a vibration from that, but there are alot of animals in this land throwing me off a bit.", he was lying to a degree, he was intune with the chakra under his feet. So much so that even with the Guradians helping move his chakra and increase his chakra vitality he could counter that and push out more to have a wider range of his 'vibration' sight. It helped to know where people were...

"Oi, You might wanna slow it down a bit. Watch where you're goin and such because I can feel there are plenty of bodies in the area. Lots of vibrations coming from all sorts of directions."At any pace Eiji found himself scaling his jutsu forward... but it wasnt until he heard the Arrow shoot down. Seemingly Hitting Aya, 'Tch, Like something moving that slow would hit her.' And it didnt, as she stepped within a moment. Something that Eiji couldnt do but he had his ways of preventing himself from being damaged....

"Seems so. Denji hold up. Let us handle the mess.", though Eiji had been speaking he was already gone. He knew some techniques as well... Stunt double. He liked to create that idea that he was around people while he worked through the shadows, like a true ANBU. Or at least like he attempted to be a true ANBU. Soon a hand of wood would jut out of the tree near the Archer's location gripping him tightly around his neck.

"Akutare. I think there are a few more. Do you wish to proceed?"

Ji would feel that there were people out of sight under the trees, maybe getting ready to ambush them if they made it past the archers. There seemed to be about five, non-ninja, they had simple swords, and spears as weapons.

"I'll go evict the archers from the trees, real quick." Aya stated quietly with a smirk, any other threats she felt like Ji could handle them. She figured her blinding speed was enough to knock them out of the trees, depending on how hard she did it would decide whether or not they'd live. It seemed like she disappeared, wind followed her movements though.

Denji simply nodded to the two, he was a capable ninja, but he knew his role as mednin would be to stand back and not get harmed. Whose to treat the doctor if the doctor falls right? Plus bows and arrows were nothing too dangerous compared to ninja. So Denji stayed back, only pulling out a kunai to block arrows. He didn't want to move around since there were holes surrounding them.

Aya jumped into the trees, the enemy didn't seem to notice her there, until her first victim screamed, as he was punch out of the tree into the field. If he landed in a hole, then he'd definitely be dead. She used her speed to her advantage to knock each of the archers out of the tree and into the field, each one letting out a scream as they experienced flight for the first time and probably last...

Denji just watched in aw, and he felt a chill go down his spine. He couldn't see what was going on, all he saw were men flying out of the trees and probably died on impact. What was Akutare doing to make them fly like that? was it a jutsu? Some of them landed a good twenty feet behind himself, and it kinda made him fear the girl under the mask, if Akutare was a girl that is. They could be a feminine sounding guy or a monster under that mask.

It all worked quickly Eiji was sure that he would be able to help aya out quickly as she lept into the trees and he would plant his hands against the ground and jutting upwards from the ground would be the hands of Earth clutching those she knocked from the trees and pulling them into a quicksand of chakra, "Hmph. Easy work." Eiji had complete control of the Earth that he placed his hands in. More so than anyone he knew. It wasnt the sexiest jutsu type to use but it did the damn job. At any pace Eiji would find himself looking up and shielding Denji from any attacks with a dome of earth as he would continue doing what needed be done.

"Akutare! Are you good up there?", Eiji would message from the headset in his mask. Before looking around for more baddies to take down, it wasnt that hard of a mission to undertake but they might have just been that much better than anyone out here for them to be transporting Denji from point A to Point B. Eiji was scared of Aya but he wasnt going to let her ability take him back, he was just as powerful as her if he needed to be... but he wasnt nearly as fast. That was what he worked on but, one could only be so fast...

'I'll figure out a way to make you notice...' nodding he would look up as she would beat down baddies sending them down into the clutches of the earthy hands that dragged them to their unmarked graves. After which he would leap up in to the trees after letting Denji go from the Tomb protection. "Where to from here?"

A few dozen civilians with meager weapons couldn't ever take down trained shinobi. Some might have been more skilled but they lacked battle scars and actual experience. Denji watched the two ANBU in amazement, they both seem to take out the threat almost instantly. The ANBU was the top of the top, Denji could fight them by himself, but he wouldn't get out unscathed. Denji felt a little sting of jealousy towards the two, He spent his time honing his mind rather than his body, but he at least felt better knowing that the ANBU needed his mind for now at least.

Aya gave the two guys a thumbs up out of the trees once she finished the last enemy. "I'm done, no more archers." She stated through the head comms. She then warped next to Denji and Eiji. "We can go through now." Aya stated, Denji jumped at the sudden appearance of the female ANBU. He was still a little jumpy from the sudden arrow attack.

"Yes, it is just a mile ahead, if not less. We can probably make it there get the plant, and get back to the safe zone before sundown." Denji stated, he then took the lead. Aya nodded and followed.

Eiji could sense more people, but they were further away, and west of their goal. Maybe a small camp.

It would take them less than an hour to get to their destination. Denji looked around, they were in a forest, it was thicker than the previous forests. There was a lot of wildlife here, small to big, the birds made sure it wasn't too silent here.

Denji looked around for the tiny purple flower, he'd never seen it in person, so he wasn't sure how tiny it was. He would check the book he was given again, so he could cross-reference. "This type of plant is hard to find, and can only grow in certain conditions." He stated, which was probably why they didn't have it in the botany greenhouse. Not yet anyway.

It took a few minutes before Denji found a small bundle, he carefully transferred the flowers into a sterile bag. "Here we go, this should be more than enough." He said with a smile.

Aya was looking around, but mostly keeping an eye on Denji, after he found the flowers she nodded. "Alright, let's go home before we have to fight more bandits." Aya stated, then pointed towards the way they came.
