Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Maru checked out his map, wondering if he was going the right way as he came to a huge gap on the face of the cliff that he was walking to. It almost looked as if someone, or something blasted through the cliff to make a clearing leading to somewhere, the fog was thick as the lone mercenary traveled closer where the village gates were supposed to be. Maru of course wearing his usual attire for the kind of work he was in, he wore mostly black for the exception of his red gloves which works great for a pun he haven't tried yet. He also wore a white and black english ballroom eye mask which he wore mostly for style. As the fog began to clear, he began to see the gates more clearly… Maru actually found the entrance to the village hidden in the clouds!

Strutting over to the gates, he paused when seeing a few wanted posters around and the young mercenary stopped to check out who's were on the villages wanted list. One in particular caught his eye, probably because he knew he didn't need help to catch this one;

Of course he saw another one but Maru was beginning to wonder if this village would allow foreign shinobi to cash in on some of these rewards, after all he did have one talent that not a lot of people had and that was that he could revive himself so long as he gives up his hearts to cheat the reaper. That and he was pretty accurate when it came to using range weapons, it was almost impossible for him to miss a shot but he might as well save what he could do for whoever he meets, he doesn't exactly have a passport or papers on him other than his calling card where he tells what he does. But he shrugged, even if he was denied entry he could always hang out in the outer village then come to the gates to drop off the bodies besides he might even meet a few people on the outskirts of Kumogakure but he might as well try to do things the ‘legal’ way if he wanted to get this village to open their pocket books to him.

Maru cleared his throat.
“YO CAN ANYONE COLLECT ON THESE BOUNTIES ARE WHAT!” the loudmouthed mercenary screamed and yelled in a voice so loud you could probably hear him from a mile away. Perhaps this got someones attention….

[Maru Has Entered!]
[Ooc: Saw wanted posters and couldn't help but make one. :p]

Walking in a rather matter of fact way through the gates and out to meet the guest who was trying to gain entrance. Who he saw . . . was somebody that he started to get bad vibes from immediately. Firstly the guy was loud and secondly, he had a rather . . . purposefully edgy fashion sense. In fact, as Umashi began to play the voice back in his head, it automatically occurred to him who exactly it was that was requesting entrance. Dressed in a simple all black shinobi gi with a blank white full face covering mask and matching cloak on , he was smart enough to not answer back by speaking. If he could recognize Maru by his voice then the kid would surely recognize the retired Hokage by his own. As he walked, he quickly thought of a plan as he finally stopped just short of boy and held his hand out, palm outstretched in the universal symbol for "Stop". Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out a small notepad and pencil and begin to scribble a note on them. Smirking behind his mask, he finished writing the note, ripped the paper from the note pad and held it out for the boisterous boy to read.

<COLOR color="grey">Whether Maru took the note or not would be up to him, but as far as Umashi was concerned, his job was done, and he'd in short time turn around and walk back through the gates. When he got back on the other side and he was sure that they were closed, he'd walked right up to the nearest senior ANBU on duty and inform him that the kid who'd just shown up was a known trouble maker of the Fire Country and that if he requested entrance that he ought to be watched at all times . . . bathroom visits included. While Maru wasn't a credible village level threat, he could certainly take a situation from "0 to 100" in record time due to his lack of common sense when it came to knowing when to shut up. His job done, Umashi would go back to waiting for more visitors.

As Maru came closer to the entrance, he came across a man who was dressed in shinobi gear with a white mask on, clearly he must've been a ANBU here but for some reason he felt like he's seen the man before. Like when he found that man's lab who gave him a Uchiha when he was a human puppet, Maru raised his hand. “Howdy there Mr. Mystery surprised to see you here.” He said as he approached, the man holding his hand up and he halted. The masked ANBU pulled out a notepad to proceed in writing something down, probably directions to where this guy was or probably something better. When the man was finished writing Maru took the paper from the man then brought the paper to his still smirking face and in big letters it read;
~Gates Closed for all Non-Kumogakurian Shinobi due to National Holiday. Try again next week and if you have the bounty in tow . . . all the better.~

What. The. Fuck?

Maru thought as he looked up at the man who was now turning to leave. He was seriously telling him to come back in a week because of some holiday, of course this was unacceptable since he didn't know things such as where they guy was last seen and what not. “What the– you didn't even hear what I had to say though.” He said, detaching his hand to stretch his hand around Umashi to put his red gloved palm in front of him to halt him. “I mean one would think you people would allow me to tell what I'm planning on doing here or something. Common pal.” He reattached his hand back after stopping the man. Hopefully he would at least hear him out instead of insta ‘get lost.’

Sighing from behind his mask, Umashi was almost quite literally dragged from what he had planned on doing as once again he found himself back at the gates having to explain himself to a young, inexperienced and technically homeless shinobi about what was and what wasn't about to happen concerning him and Kumogakure. Pulling out the note pad once more and scribbling down his reply, he held it out for the young man to see. Letting his body language do far more speaking for him than his written words, Umashi would visibly go for being as offputting as possible as he waited for Maru's reply.

~What did you have planned?~

It was a simple reply, and one that left the ball in Maru's court to continue to annoy him or to take the hint and to bugger off until a week from now. If he knew Maru as well as he did though, he could only imagine that the kid would continue to ask questions until a full week had actually passed.

OOC: Back . . .

Although Maru did have to drag the man back, he at least stuck around to hear what he had to say. Maru was reckless, but he knew if he wanted to get money from the village without having to steal it.. he needed to get in the legal way otherwise he would probably be sent to jail and possibly sealed away since he could draw power from his stolen hearts to revive himself in times of need. Maru watched as the man began to take out a notepad again and began writing, hopefully he would allow him to explain himself before they sent him off, after all that was what they did back in wind country when he came around. Maru took the paper, then brought it to his face which this time read;

~What did you have planned?~

Now Maru could explain himself and why he was around here. “Well…” he began. “You see I've been going around looking for some work as a mercenary, I've been looking around and I saw this village had a few wanted posters around. So I figured I would offer my help around here since I was doing similar work in Wind Country in aiding them in things like stopping some underground sex trafficking ring in Soons Haven. Snapshot of that mission included.” Maru brought his hand up to to remove his eyemask, obviously telling the man that the snapshots of his Mission were sealed in his mask if the man wanted proof that he did a mission. “Unfortunately I can't let you see the clients who hired me, you know. They prefer to be in secret and all.” He said of course if he wanted to view the snapshots that is in which he would be more than happy to show the man.

"So if I was to state what I want, I guess it would be a place to crash and probably get a couple bounties or missions to do while I am around.” He finalized, waiting to hear what the masked man had to say about that.

Clearly the kid wasn't getting it, and refraining from audibly sighing was about the hardest thing ever, it seemed. Listening to the guys story, Umashi found that believing Maru in this particular case wasn't the hard part, it was the fact that he did believe Maru and yet still didn't want to deal with him. Where Maru went, trouble usually followed and that this point in time, Umashi didn't want any drama on his watch. One day Maru might get in, but it wasn't so soon to be by the hands of technically, his previous boss. Shaking his head and an outstretched hand to show that he didn't need to see the snapshots, Umashi began to scribble on his pad once more.

~Thanks for the explination but unfortunately we are not housing any foreigners at the moment due to the Holiday. Again, try again in a week and feel free to bring a bounty with you. Perhaps you'll get in then . . . but certainly not today.~

Holding the note out for Maru to read, Umashi hoped that the mercenary would get the message so that Umashi could go back to the comfort of the silence of gate duty.
