Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

The messenger bird took flight inside the room of Shita Rirakkusu, who seemed to be having a very good dream. If one observed the unique exchange between animal and human, you might even say the bird sighed before dropping the folder filled with mission information on his face. In fact, the bird left a happy little present on his sheets while taking off.

Inside the envelope held the information that all members of the assigned team would receive that day...

Osuteno sat in his backyard with a smile on his face. He lifted the cup of tea to his nose and took a long whiff of the rare blend he had acquired recently. Taking a deep breath, the young man took a sip of it and placed the cup back down. Eyes diverted between his guests. To his right sat his cat who stared on him curiously. Across from him sat a squirrel he had recently rescued and patched up after a scuffle with a hawk. And to his left was a curious looking bird. In front of it sat a brief for the mission. "Well now that you are here, might as well have some tea as well!" he happily spoke, pouring the messenger a cup.

The bird looked to the squirrel and the cat as if looking for confirmation. They both seemed to nod their head. He dipped his beak in the hot liquid and licked it up, pleasantly surprised. For the next half hour he joined the little tea party with Osuteno and friends before moving on to find the next individual.

Tama and Tomo were found together, doing what they did best. That is, Tama annoying her brother with her antics as usual. Needless to say bird to the rescue!

The messenger landed upon the young womans head, though it was a difficult feat as she moved far too much. Perhaps the bird might have been accepted into the troupe on a different occasion, as it was nearly an amazing feat of balance and coordination!

The animal motioned for Tomo to come get the information before picking at a ribbon in the girls hair, giving her a taste of the same annoyance she was being. Once the job was done, the bird took it's leave quickly because the deadly ninja decided to take vengeance!

Akuro Kunashi was a boring find to be honest, he's one of those serious ninjas who doesn't have a funny quirk in his profile that I can exploit in some way. But he did happen to be having lunch at the time of delivery that the bird took a liking to. In exchange for the important information, the message finally got through that the messenger wanted food of some kind as payment for it's hard work bringing him this information. Not wanting to dawdle, Kunashi quickly gave the bird a good piece of his lunch and the avian left, mission complete.

Kioku looked out towards the pass in which he had come and gone often enough. What he planned to do didn't worry him, it was the location. He had seen the photos of the devastation cause by the Titan Corporation, and he knew that it was up to him to remedy it. Call it a divine quest. These days, more and more of Kumogakure were straying away from religion. Not that there was anything wrong with that, but it made it hard to explain some of his decisions being a devout follower of Konohanasakuya-hime. But I digress...

He was the VIP the five were tasked to protect in case they came across opposition. The land they would be moving over would be that owned by the corporation, obtained through swindling and lies, though very legal. There was no rush. The crater wasn't going anywhere and no one was actively being hurt. But Kioku's words still held some merit amongst the shinobi in leadership, and being puntual was important. After all, he had grown up back when Hayata Shin was main branch sennin. Surely connections meant that those who made an impression might receive a commendation on their record in some way shape or form.

The folders the five received held the pertinent information. For some it would be enough, others there would be questions. Upon their arrival, Kioku would show proper respect to those who were going to potentially die for him should the worst case scenario occur, though he had no plans on letting anyone die that day. A bow, a hello, a "Do you have any questions?" would be given to them. Hopefully they could leave the gates sooner than later once any curiosities were sated.

"Thanks, bird!"

He looked down at his takoyaki he bought from his favorite stand and sighed. Did the piece have to be so big? It was a rather small bird. Kunashi just shrugged and walked on, munching on his lunch as he opened the folder containing his mission. His heart stopped, and not from the unhealthy food. 'A mission? This soon? Awesome!' Kunashi folded the papers up and hurried back to his apartment to get ready for the journey. He strapped his sheath on, packed his backpack full of supplies and straightened out his forehead protector. He reread the briefing that was delivered to check the details once more. He smiled at himself in the mirror. Today was his first real day as a shinobi. A long sleeved shirt, baggy pants, and his hooded fur lined jacket would adorn him and he walked out the door. He walked toward the gates with gusto, eager to meet his first client.

He passed the hustle and bustle of the midday city and eventually found himself at the gates. He saw a man standing there, looking around. He extended his arm in the air.
"Councilman Kioku? Akuro Kunashi, pleased to meet you. No, no questions really." Kunashi would stand next to his VIP and attempt idle small talk while waiting for the rest of the team to show. He was eager and enthusiastic. This would be fun.

The smack of the folder against his face caused Ri to wake from his slumber, and shove his hand directly into the gift the bird had left for him. His immediate reaction was to mutter, "Shit.." to himself before crawling out of bed and getting dressed after wiping the gift off of his hands using the cleaner part of the sheets. He knew what the folder meant, and thankfully the bird that delivered it woke him up, otherwise he would've been late, and most likely scolded. After throwing on his usual rags and grabbing his hat and weapons, he left his home without a word to his family. As he walked down the street, Ri opened the folder and looked at it's contents. The information given was enough for him, any other questions he had would likely be answered after the mission itself began.

About fifteen minutes after leaving his home, he arrived at the designated location where they were to meet. Seeing that only two people had arrived, those two being another boy around his age, and the one who seemed to be the client. He noted that this was the first time that he had arrived early for anything for as long as he could remember, and smirked a bit at the thought. Approaching the two, he extended his hand to the client and nodded to the other boy, just so that they could start off on the right foot, he didn't want them to make him angry later on. Ri would lean on the nearest wall he could find as he waited for the rest of the team. The thing he did to pass the time, was simply pulling his hat down low enough to shade his eyes so he could sleep. The only thing he'd be able to hear was whatever small talk the other two were having.

Osuteno finished up his little tea party and read the details of the mission. He looked at where he currently called home and sighed knowing that by the time he came back he would be moved into the Chigokai estate. The sigh did not last long though. He dropped his transformation of himself with the ability to make facial expressions and made arrangement for his furry friends to be taken care of while he was gone. Clenching his fist tightly he transformed into a version of himself with a game face, he was leaving the village for the very first time. This wasn't helping out obaa-sans or finding pet rocks, this was a real ninja adventure. Osu changed into his combat gear and equipment. It was odd though that he had been chosen to go since he wasn't even a genin yet. Maybe it had something to do with his minor medical abilities. He had met most of the team he was going with before and heard about the last, and as far as he knew he was the only one with medical jutsu. Not that they were likely to need it.

He made his way over to the meeting place and saw Kunashi and Ri with the client. Osu approached them and gave the client a respectful bow. "Greetings, I am Koji Osuteno of the Chigokai clan and it is a pleasure to be of service." The 8-year-old was respectful and his tone was genuine but his face was helplessly blank. "I don't have any questions as of present." He then turned and bowed to the other two, "Ri-Senpai, Kunashi-Senpai it is a pleasure to be working with you." Osu sat in seiza nearby to contemplate what sort of tea from he should make later.

Tomo hurriedly walked around the Mochizuki camp, his eye twitching uncontrollably. "For the last time Tama, I'm NOT producing 'Baby Ninjizazu the Musical'. It is the worst creation you've ever thought up...okay, aside from that ridiculous memoir you wrote last week." However, despite his insistence that her plea would always and forever be disregarded, Tama continued to tail Tomo, nagging that he didn't understand true talent and the like. As if Raiden finally realized that Tomo was at his wit's end, a bird plopped onto Tama's head, waving the young man over to receive a folder. "Oh thank Raiden...never thought I'd say that about getting a mission..." Tomo approached the winged creature and took the envelop. "Thanks." The Genin flipped open the folder and scanned it. Tomo didn't want to start any blasphemous rumors, but he thought that Raiden had a sick sense of humor. There, on the mission participants section, was Tama's name, along with his. Tomo looked to his sister, obvious concern within his gaze. The last time he'd went on a mission with his twin, he almost died and ended up suspended in a semi-existence for six years. Tomo snapped the folder closed and tossed it to Tama. Making his way to his tent, the dual-haired man grumbled. "And when I die, I expect to find him laughing."

Tomo approached the gate in his battle-oriented performance attire. The pouch strapped to his waist held his ink supplies, and upon his left ear was his headset. His braid swayed behind him as he walked at a brisk pace. Tomo wasn't late, but he also wasn't particularly early. This was due to Haruki insisting that Tomo fix his hair just right. The inner ghost had an odd obsession with perfect braiding techniques. Two of the four people there were familiar to Tomo. He had met Kunashi at the hospital, and gave the boy a polite nod of his head. He did the same to Rirakkusu, though Tomo had only heard of the boy through an acquaintance. To Osuteno, Tomo gave a small smirk before giving another nod, remembering the boy's attempt at comedy the other day. Finally facing the man he would escort for the day, Tomo placed a hand to his heart and bowed deeply. "Mochizuki Tomo, manager-in-training and returning idol of the Mochizuki Troupe, at your service." He was asked if he had any questions, and Tomo had to resist the urge to ask 'may we leave Tama behind for everyone's safety'. Instead, he asked a different question. "Considering we need to protect you, might I ask what we can expect in terms of opposition? Since our ranks include an academy student, three Genin, and a Chuunin, I can only assume our only fear should be wildlife and bandits?" Tomo hoped that was the case. He had fought so many outlaws during his shinobi career, it was second nature by now and wouldn't be much to worry about. Yet, if it were true that their enemies would be simpletons, it seemed odd for a former shinobi to need escorts. However, the young man would not pry if their employer wished to keep the answer to himself. He did get an answer, to which Tomo nodded. "Fair enough." With that, they finished at the gates and were off.

"But Tooomooo!" the chuunin whined as she danced around her brother, "It's a musical tale of epic proportions! It's got everything a modern fantasy retelling of an ancient legend needs! Explosions, robots, symbolism, me, a catchy soundtrack. It's a true expression of art! And if you don't see that, you're not much of a manager then are you. Mother and Father both said they enjoyed reading it. So there. And leave my memoirs out of this! That's just not finished yet! It'll be the best thing you've ever read! You'll s--," Tama was interrupted by the timely arrival of a plucky little bird upon her head. A folder flopped in front of her face, and Tomo took it. The bird left, though not before tugging violently on Tama's ribbon. "Hey! You get back here!" She tried to grab the bird, but the bird was exceptionally dextrous and managed to evade her grasp and escape to the freedom of the sky. "Grrr! You're lucky I can't fly! You win this time, but next time won't be so easy!" After shaking her fist at the departing bird, Tama turned to Tomo.Tama saw his expression change from relief to disbelief to finally resignation. She wondered why. Wasn't he having the time of his life arguing about when her idea would be produced? Tama didn't realize that Tomo had never, and would never, allow her works to be published, she simply believed he was playing hard to get.

Tomo tossed her the folder, before walking away to his tent muttering about someone dead laughing. "Tomo can be so weird at times, huh Haruko?" Tama seemingly asked no one in particular. Her ghostly companion did not respond, but instead the ghost was facepalming at Tama's utter obliviousness and idiocy. She waved dismissively at the chuunin before vanishing completely. Apparently, she was not going to accompany the young woman today. "Cheh, fine. Be like that. At least I'm not that arrogant and hard to deal with," she said as she flipped it open. "Hah! Showtime! With Tomo! And new people! How exciting!" She dashed off to her tent to prepare.

Clad in her custom-tailored battle suit (which doubled as her stage outfit), she waited for Tomo and followed him to the meeting place. Everyone else was already there. But knowing Tomo, Tama knew that they weren't late. "Ya-ho~!" She greeted everyone exuberantly, "Mochizuki Tama, star perfomer of Mochizuki Troupe and chuunin of Kumogakure, takes the stage!" She made an over-exaggerated pose, as if she was being featured in a crossover fighting game or something. "No questions here, let's go punch stuff!"

Kioku paid each of them proper respect when they arrived and conversed shortly if they had anything to speak about, most notably being small talk with Kunashi. They spoke of simple things. Kioku was curious as to how things were going in the corps. After retiring, he began to focus on representing the people as a councilor and had since lost touch with how the military was faring as of late.

However such conversation had to stop when Tama approached with her extravagance and Tomo came forward with an actual question pertaining to the mission. Kioku cleared his throat with a cough and then thought for a moment. He had assumptions, sure, but nothing concrete. "It's hard to say. We will effectively be trespassing on land, but it's such a large expanse that I'm not even sure we will be noticed. Intelligence would suggest that the bulk of any opposition is located two miles in the sky." he paused. "Best case scenario, nothing happens. Worst case scenario, we encounter a patrol and things can't be kept peaceable. Our students and genin should be proficient to handle themselves among general soldiers." he reasoned, nodding his head with his own assumption.

With that, it seemed that they were ready to depart. "Guess we'll be on our way." he concluded and set out after a gate guard finished with them.
