"I didn't say baby scorpions..."<i></i> His words were said as if there was more the statement. Matsu sighed as the rock that the tinier scorpions were sitting on, damaged and dead or otherwise, began scurrying around as the sand started to shift. A large tail sprung through the sand and lashed out, smashing around those that were potentially closest to the pile. Then, in a similar instance one claw struck out as did another. Chattering and pushing up onto the sand, a massive scorpion loomed in front of the three girls as several smaller scorpions ran across its body in agitation. Its two larger eyes would be impossible to determine where it was looking, but it was quite agitated when it's stridulation began. One would assume that scorpions hissed, but it was actually a weird vibration they did. Quickly, the scorpion burrowed beneath the sand as a small wave of sand rolled over the surface as it sunk beneath the world, stalking about and waiting to strike. Matsu did not smile beneath his mask. He simply observed. His body made no indication that he was above the sand. If the children watched him closely to this point, they'd have noticed he barely left tracks. For now, he simply remained motionless outside of speaking. "...Kill that. I can understand your...confusion? I'd have assumed being born on the surface you'd have known better, whelp."<i></i>
He'd go back to simply standing and waiting. Would the children learn how to deal with the scorpion? It didn't typically act like smaller scorpions given its larger size. He was curious. He expected one of them would get relatively injured. Perhaps maimed. It would be for the best. His eyes just followed along the landscape listlessly. He really just didn't care about their well being. Either they would grow strong and rise to the occasion or they were simply too weak to truly survive. Every now and then the sand near the surface would rise and give indication that the massive creature was burrowing about nearby, waiting for some sort of indication of the children. It was agitated that its children had been murdered. It was out for blood. Vengeance maybe? The truth was that scorpions were simply spiteful creatures. If their ability to strike was taken away, they'd find a way to bite just to be nasty.
