Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Blundering forward, a massive bundled figure traverses the chill plains of Kaminari no Kuni in search of Kumogakure. Fortunately, various nomads had offered to trade layers of clothing for the few items left in the possession of the former Medical Sennin and MIkasa found herself more than thrilled to barter to increase her survival rate. Alternatively, she had become far too bulky and stuck out, nearly waddling towards her destination in a semi-mobile home package of warmth; the maidens features completely veiled.

Concerning how the woman had managed to descent from the Monumentum Deo was difficult to describe, numerous mishaps had occurred to the point to where she met dead ends with large distances between fragments of land. Multiple loose patches of snowdrift had nearly claimed her life, potentially sending her tumbling downwards into a deathly hollow of icicles and obscurity. Abrupt violent zephyrs threatened similar consequences, thus her journey took far more time than she initially allotted to herself to traverse.

Never the the least, the maiden had successfully arrived at her destination, although the definition of success in Mikasa's circumstance was debatable. Waddling through the Dragon Tooth Pass, her tundra orbs shimmer in awe, the impassable rock formations told an abundance of information pertaining to the iron clad defense of the village; only a fool would attempt to scale the walls with the numerous visible outposts - along with the unknown quantity of hidden. Luckily the thoughts wouldn't linger as she sheds a few layers, folding them neatly on the path before her prior to placing them into her roughed up baggage.

The kunoichi's platinum mane is exposed to the environment, her attire still considerably warm, and she reluctantly placed away her temporary Hokage hat, managing to squeeze it into the backpack she carried. A crimson scarf wraps around her neck, covering her lips, would be the most noticeable item as she waits for the gate procedures that she assumed were similar across all the major villages. "The cold never bothered me anyway.."

"Well, look who it is." Maikeru said from atop the wall, a cup of coffee hanging inches from his lips.

Taking a sip of the warm beverage, he took a seat at the edge of the wall, letting his feet hang over the layers of snow and ice that hung on the wall. His blue eyes narrowed and squinted as he took a secondary look, just to be sure. Sure enough, walking up to the gates of Kumo was the figure of his former sensei, and superior, Tsukasa Mikasa. A small smile forming on his face, he removed the glove on his left hand, moving his thumb and middle finger to let out a high pitched, long whistle into the frosty sky.

"Oi, took you long enough." He called down to the woman, flashing her a small smile. "We've been waiting for what felt like a year for ya Sensei, you sure took your time getting here."

Attaching chakra to his hand and foot, using the control of it to slowly slide down the wall, he would make his way towards the ground. Landing, and shaking his hand to get rid of the slight friction burn, he approached the white haired Kunoichi.

"It's nice to see ya again."

OOC: Using my NPC Kiri for this

It was a cold day in Kumogakure, but not like how it normally was. Then again, Kumogakure was never not cold, though maybe Kiri simply found that there were certain days that felt like the gods were out to freeze him to death. Today was one of them, and one way to remedy this was to head to the gates. Strangely enough, there was a variable discrepancy of weather between the village central and the gates. Even two degrees was enough to make Kiri comfortable. But to say the entire reason for his presence in the gates was due to the finding a place to be more comfortable was lie. As usual, he did his medical rounds, and he was just about to scout for information of the outside towns and Port Cirrus before he would be leaving for his usual medical missions when he had stumbled upon a sight.

A guard had informed him in one of the rooms of the watchtower that there was someone closing in to the gates. He would normally ignore it since he wasn’t the one on duty, but for some reason, Kiri felt a strange feeling in his chest at thought of a visitor. It wasn’t normal. It was almost as an ethereal string was luring him to see who it was. He wasn’t the cheesy type to believe in destiny, but he did always have a thing for fate, and his fate radar was beeping loudly in his heart that his souls were pretty much just bugging him to correct it. Besides, the rest of the intel he needed were still being prepared so he could very well just see who it was at the gates.

And to his great surprise– for it didn’t take long to recognize that person, especially not when her chakra signature, no matter how small or weak or concealed, was forever imprinted into his soul since they last met. Something to do with being a jinchuuriki back then and his sensitivity to such things.

“No doubt about it. Silver hair, red lips, this chakra… it’s her,” he mumbled as he walked past the railing of the watchtower. Each step became a hurried one until finally he broke into a run pushed past the guard by the edge and jumped over the railing. Falling wasn’t his style, not when gravity was at his disposal. Kiri so effortlessly hovered just a few inches before the snow-covered ground before starting off another run along the soft white land. A smile on his face.

Not too long, a white haired kid, bubbly and seemingly excited, would race through the snows before leaping to catch the visiting woman into an embracing greeting. “MIKASA!!!!!!!!!!!” He would shout. For many months now, he had been trying his hand to finish all hospital duties and get his research done just so he could apply for that study exchange thing that the village had as part of the alliance with Leaf. It was an uphill battle considering that Osu had been working him to death in the hospital, but he was almost done and was just about to submit his proposal for the exchange when more of his mednin duties came at him like a waterfall, seemingly postponing his intention. But now..

“You’re here!” he continued, “I was just about to get things done so I can apply for that exchange and study with you in Leaf. I even figured out a good research topic for the exchange but I’ve been busy lately that I lost tract of time, and honestly, I haven’t been listening to whatever that has been happening, but that doesn’t matter now. You’re finally here. We can finally catch up since Tea, and then, and then….”

Suddenly, Kiri drew a blank when he realized he was tilting his head up to look at the visitor. “Uh… it’s me… Kiri… Yeah, I know… I’m a kid… but it really is me…. Long-story, really, just that I ended up becoming a five year old, but somehow Osu helped and I aged a little more, though now looks like I’ll have to grow naturally…”

Then, he glances to the side to find another shinobi. He didn’t seem to be in traveling clothes, so he figured he was from the village.

[Topic Entered and caught a wild mikasa]

A familiar presence is met by a sly grin from behind the crimson scarf, the maiden's tundra optics trail after the silhouette of the Uchiha lad. Whimsically the former Medical Sennin strolls forward to meet the former pupil, "Particular difficulties made my travels a bit more troublesome than I initially anticipated." she comments in a chipper tone, sincerely pleased to make contact with one of the members she aided in allowing to escape.

Turning to rummage through her bag, she removes the Hokage hat, spinning the ornament about on her fingertip prior to hiding the unique attire. "Furthermore, I was not expecting to have to go through a trio at the gates, but alas here I am!" she murmurs, embracing the shinobi, utilizing the moments to reacquaint herself with him, "I pray the other two are fairing well?" Mikasa inquires in a hushed tone, unsure of the secrecy of the matter.

Unfortunately the kunoichi would be silenced, in the distance a vaguely familiar set of vocals call out in a childish manner as a blur of ivory rockets towards their location. Miraculously the lad would catch the woman moments after releasing Maikeru, doing her utmost to recall the shinobi known as Kiri of Kumogakure. "Kiri-san?" she murmurs in bewilderment, racking her brain to churn the gears to recall the events of the Kurosawa. Fortunately it wouldn't take long before recollecting the handsome flirtatious gentlemen who proclaimed he would attend Konohagakure to perform medical research in good faith of the Kumogakure alliance. "Ah, Kiri-san..?" she mutters once more.

Puzzled, the maiden listens silently to the explanation, although Mikasa was unsure sure if she were following the details properly; even in the realm of chakra, the situation he described felt entirely bizarre. "I have never seen such symptoms, I imagine that is due to an exhaustion of some sort or a curse placed on you?" the former medical lead questions with a nervous chuckle. In either event, the proclaiming lad who insisted on being Kiri, which she found herself doubting, was adorable, bubbly and clearly pleased to have found her lingering at the Dragon Tooth Pass.

Caringly she proceeds to ruffle the snow white locks of the lad, "While I would love to catch up, I would find it more enjoyable to do so indoors if possible. My journey has left me exhausted and I am sure Kumogakure Medical Sennin would inquire as to why his Konohgakure counterpart has made an unannounced visit.." she comments, glancing over towards Maikeru. To Mikasa's knowledge, Junko was still in charge; rather he was during the meeting in Kurosawa.
<i>
</i>

A small smile came across Maikeru's face as Mikasa pulled him in close, her whispers warming his heart a bit in this cold weather. Placing his own hands on her back, he patted it softly, before whispering to her in Fuego so as the newcomer who was rapidly running towards them couldn't hear.

"Aye, we're all safe inside. However, I go by Otani Akira now. Ergo the.. radical look." He said, giving a small smile and raising his now burnt and corrupted right hand. "I might have uh.. went a little over board with it though. But, we've been thriving pretty well here."

As the young man approached, Maikeru cocked his head to the side to see if that helped him understand the strange situation before him. Not only did this young man think he knew Mikasa, but, she knew him in return? What exactly was his old sensei getting up to in her free time? Shrugging his shoulder, he stuck his hands in his pockets as he waited for the two of them to finish.

"Ah, well, they won't be that surprised.." Maikeru said in response to Mikasa, rubbing the back of his head nervously. "Cloud has had quite a few refugees lately. As for meeting with the medical Sennin, I'm afraid that's not quite possible at the minute."

Reaching down into his jacket, he pulled out a small communicator device, similar to the one he had in leaf but tuned into cloud frequencies. Placing it in his ear, he pressed it once to test, before continuing to speak.

"But, they are aware you're no longer Sennin of leaf. Or at least, they are aware that you planned on leaving. The refugees before you told them. Also, the Medical Sennin of cloud is a woman. Shinrya Kahako. However she is very busy with.. something, I haven't even been able to meet her yet. However, let me call the Main Branch Sennin." Tapping his headset to change channels, he sent out a message. "Kagetsu-sama, I'm at the gates with another leaf refugee. A former Sennin Tsukasa Mikasa, she would like to meet with someone if you have the time."

[Requesting Kagetsu Yuii.]

Kiri beamed with a wide smile as Mikasa responded. He wasn’t really a fan of his situation but there were times when he had gotten over the drama and accepted it, making people’s reaction towards his predicament rather curious. Crossing his hands in front of him, Kiri nodded a few times at Mikasa’s assessment. “As expected of Mikasa. You always did have a sharp eye for things,” said Kiri, speaking way beyond the years of what he supposed to look like. Then, he would glance to the side and notice that the boy from earlier had began to address Mikasa’s request to enter the village.

Upon hearing her situation, Kiri suddenly broke out from his confident posture and clung unto Mikasa with teary-eyes. “Mikasa! Are you alright? I… I-I didn’t know you were…. I… I would have ran all the way to Leaf and kicked their behinds if I knew you were in danger! Why are you as a refugee? No, no, no. This won’t do.” Suddenly, Kiri gathered some chakra along his hands and a warm glow emanated from his palms as he held onto Mikasa. “Come here. We can wait for Kagetsu-san inside. You must be freezing. Where are my manners? Setsuna!”

Another surge of his chakra echoed from his body and ran along the surface of the snowy ground before a shadowy silhouette began to rise and form a shape of a giant samurai. It spun its shadowy katana and then placed in on the ground, sending black flames running around them, effectively emitting enough warmth. The flames trailed like a pathway going towards the gate’s watch tower. “Come on, let’s wait by the watch tower, at least. Geez! If things hadn’t been so hectic…. Ahhh! But it’s not like I could easily come running over too since last time… Oh but… never mind.”

Sounding more like an old man mumbling about, Kiri dragged Mikasa towards the watch tower gates. A guard would be waiting there by one of the small doors that opened slightly ajar. He also glanced over to the other boy, gesturing him to follow closely. “So you know Kahako-mama? If you need something in a hurry, I can deliver the message for you, but as you said, she has been very busy.”

Right behind them, the shadowy giant would follow suit, slowly dispersing into chakra at each steps, but the flames remained on the ground until they would reach the watch tower gate.

The 'watchtower', despite its name, was not really a tower at all but a tall, spire building no wider than ten meters anywhere from its base to top which leaned on the interior if the anterior stone wall of the gates of Kumogakure. It's top ended jutted above the top of the wall, which was already adequately high enough for a watch, and served as cover for those climbing and protecting the gates. It was just one of many buildings which lined the interior wall; all with different functions. The 'tower' was made of stone to be functional and stand the test of time. An open door to a stone staircase was to the left of the door they entered, which vanished to the floors above. To the right open to a plain waiting room of sorts whose function was unclear, though it was probably used for breaks and warming up. The permanent furniture, like the medium sized table and dozen chairs, set centric to the room, were mismatched and worn. A small stove burned cheerfully and efficiently in one corner, and there were several hooks, mostly empty, to hang clothing along one wall.

They'd have time to settle in, warm up, maybe even take off a layer or two. It wasn't like the Main Branch Sennin lived at Kumo's gates- though she sure felt like it most days. It was the nature of gates; it was a place of new beginnings and sad endings that drew trouble like academy students to the forest of death.

Her voice would announce her approach, muffled by the door at first then loud as she swung it open and trudged in, a girl familiar to Maikeru at her heels."-em to stop wasting my time if they were going to try and sell me last month's strawberries. Everyone knows that the perfect sponge cake needs perfect strawberries. Anything else is trash." Yuii held the door long enough for her young protege to enter, then slammed it shut again against the cold.

"And you know what he said?" She asked, glancing over those in the room quickly. Her brows furrow, cheeks puffed outwards and voice deepened in a mimic of a man's deep baritone "'Ποιος στο διάολο σκέφτηκε ότι ήταν εντάξει να αφήσει ένα γιατρό στην εκπαίδευση και ένα παιδί χειριστεί μια συνάντηση πύλη! Βρες μου ονόματα!' Like I was supposed to care about his excuses and fall for buying a bad crop." Yuii's eyes rolled towards the ceiling, and she sighed, "It's like nobody in this frozen wasteland wants me to have nice things!"

Yuii, Sennin of Kumogakure, looked quite ordinary at first in her Kumogakure grey knit cap and scarf that made her cyan blue hair and eyes look bright. Her jacket was the sort of thick fleece and canvas, not-quite charcoal gray that many favoured for winter gear in Kumogakure. Even her knee-high winter boots were a respectable navy colour. It was probably a relief to those who knew her.

Then she took the jacket off.

Sleeve over sleeve, Yuii revealed the most painfully garish printed sweater made of a pattern that could have been considered a war crime. Its entire surface was covered in hundred of cats, all in a different colour and for some, a different texture. Some were even metallic. Worse, as she turned to toss her coat onto a hook, they winked. Like a picture book activated by motion. They moved again as she turned around, sticking out their tongues.

Oblivious to the various crimes against fashion she was committing, Yuii set her hands on her hips and studied the two boys then the conventionally pretty snowy-haired woman they had called her about.

"Edgy." she sighed while hooking a chair and turning it around so she could straddle it, "We need to have a chat after this about gate procedure. Has no one in that hospital of baboons taught you anything?." There were about six procedures that they had broken at a glance, and somemone would need to be held accountable. Foremost was the literal child in the room. "What are you supposed to be? A Hina Doll?" She snapped towards Kiri, "Get back to the academy and stop playing around out here. You know the rules. Do you want to get stomped on by dinosaurs? Because this is how you get stomped on by dinosaurs." That was a real threat, too.

Feeling the pair was dealt with, she then turned her attention to the apparent refugee. "I am Yuii, Main Branch Sennin of Kumogakure." she stated, as if it weren't obvious, "Leaf shinobi and medical Sennin, was it? Do you have any documentation to verify that? I'm going to need to see all of it."

[Arrived, Suika will also be along]

Finally dressed in a way that matched the frigid conditions of their mountain climate, Suika wore a fluffy, long brown fur coat, pelted from a beast she slayed not too long ago after the uprising of them. She was equipped with a traditional black kunoichi garment underneath her warm outer wear, which was a clear sign she was ready to shed comfort for battle at any given moment. Typically, she carried her golden broadsword, the Mirage Blade, with her, but she opted to hide it within a seal for the time being as it weighed her down a bit. She was on casual business with Yuii, after all, so there was no need to boast the power she wielded. Besides, sometimes appearing seemingly harmless was the greatest weapon of all.

"Hmm."</I><i></i>

Flickering her striking magenta eyes, which contrasted with the rich melanin of her skin, Suika scanned the "watch tower" that they settled into. Although cozy compared to the outside, she didn't like this place. Worse than the academy, the Chuunin never enjoyed working at the gates. it was like washing dishes to some, except for Suika it was like doing so with cut hands. Nevertheless, she wasn't one to gripe or openly share her disdain, especially when she was alongside Yuii. If anything, the older woman's presence made this a lot more tolerable. Following the Sennin's lead as she normally did, they entered a conversation about the sanctity of strawberries, specifically about their importance in strawberry sponge cake. Suika nodded her head, clearly as invested into the conversation as Yuii was. Stepping in as the blue-haired woman opened the door, she replied to her banter with her own bit. "I agree completely, there's nothing worse than less-than-perfect strawberries. You know, old man Imada has the best strawberries on this side of Lightning Country. I'll go nab some later, as he does owe me a favor or two." The girl grinned, completely disregarding the room as her superior did, but silently absorbing every external piece of information presented within. Yuii was definitely right with her observation, that's for sure.

Mirroring her Sennin, Suika removed the coat she wore and exposed the sleek black she wore underneath; this accentuated her already dark features. She recognized Maikeru instantly, even if his outer appearance was moderately different than the last time she convened with him. The kid... did Kiri have a younger sibling? <I>"Odd," she mused as she outwardly hid her curiosity. There was another in the room who was completely unfamiliar to the Chuunin; it was a beautiful woman who looked more Kumogakurian than she could ever hope to be. After Yuii's assessment of the group, which she cracked a subtle smile to, the identity of the woman was identified after the Sennin's introduction.

"I am Suika, Assistant of the Main Branch Sennin of Kumogakure," she greeted formally with a head bow, "I will gladly process the documents Yuu-sama is requesting of you after she takes a good look at them." Suika's lingering curiosity grew even more at that moment. What business did the Medical Sennin of Leaf have with Kumogakure, and was it related at all to the refugees they took in months back? Her inner inquiries didn't consume her, as she knew that her quiet hunger for answers would be satiated in the upcoming minutes of this encounter. She effortlessly kept her poise and her expression professional; she was a true example of what a shinobi of this village ought to act.

Mentally the maiden takes notes of the change in status of Maikeru, rather Otani Akira. Hesitantly she proceeds to give off a warm grin, the former student would realize she was not in the same situation as he had been; rather her circumstances were far more complex than that of his own. Never the least, Mikasa is snapped towards reality as the child claiming to bare the name Kiri continues to trudge the kunoichi forward into far more comfortable conditions.

"Junko-san is no longer head of the Medical Branch? Interesting." she muses aloud, "Lady Kahako-san had a particular air about her during the Medical Summit, makes sense to me!" the platinum mane woman chirps, chuckling and causing the crimson flush on her cheeks to no longer appear so frigid. The interior wall of the Dragon Tooth Pass was certainly complex, fortunately she had a guide to aid her in traversing the cobblestone staircase towards a singular door sitting at the apex of one of several potential routes. In the center of the plain room were mismatched chairs and a center piece table, although Mikasa was far more interested in the petite stove lurking in the corner.

Without word the maiden scurries across to inch as close as possible to the heat source, a wisp of relief follows suit. "Thank Raiden-sama." she mumbles, doing her utmost to be respectful to the regional differences; utilizing Kami-sama didn't seem appropriate considering the circumstances.

Abruptly her moment of bliss would cease, a woman of demanding status enters and instantly her tundra gaze settles on the sweater; however one would not be able to fault Mikasa, as to who wouldn't tilt their head at the bizarre pattern? After a few moments of staring passes, she takes notice of another labeling themselves as an assistant. Truthfully her dark features were worthy enough to cause jealousy in many, at least in the opinion of the medical nin. Momentarily the curious former Sennin would be lost in thought pertaining to the unique complexion belonging to that of a Sunagakure shinobi or kunoichi, knowing full and well it would be proper to introduce herself formally.

"My apologies, my manners seemed to disappear for a moment there. Your sweater, it is very . . unique!" she attempts as a compliment with a thin smile. "I am Tsukasa Mikasa, Medical Sennin of Konohagakure and contrary to popular belief, I am not a refugee." bowing forward, the platinum locks fumble forward to create a whirlwind of a mess. Despite straightening upwards, her hair was frazzled from the winds and being bundled underneath layers, "Pertaining to your sweater, I suppose it appears far more elegant than the current state of myself, so please understand I mean no harm in my words." Mikasa adds in a warm tone.

Silently she rummages about through her belongings to retrieve the proper documentation, pacing forward she extends the putrid leafy covering. "I wished to converse with Junko-san and observe the medical facilities of Kumogakure as per agreement of the Medical Summit in Kurosawa, but it has been very difficult to get in touch with him through letters. Only in the prior moments have I found out as to why." she admits in a brisk tone. "Pleasure to make your acquaintance, Yuii-san and Suika-san."

Tsukasa Mikasa was in fact labeled as a traitor to the village of Konoha, with good reasoning due to her goal, yet she had clearly stated she would return after her visit to handle unfinished business; thus never officially handing over the position - at least in her eyes. Not that her opinion mattered as the position of medical lead had more than likely been filled with a replacement, knowing the leader of the village.

Maikeru followed behind the duo, feeling very out of place and like a third wheel all of a sudden, but, pushing that aside for the time being. Sticking his hands in his long jacket as the door to the watchtower was opened, and Maikeru was lead through a foreign path that he had yet to travel through, he marvelled for a moment at the differences between the gates of his former home and Cloud. The certainly did things bigger here, for whatever that reason was.

Leaning against the wall opposite of the door, he waited patiently for the Main Branch Sennin to arrive, listening as Kiri and Mikasa continue to speak and the former Medical Sennin attempted to warm herself near the tiny wood stove that had been left in the small break room. Perhaps a bigger stove would have been more efficient for heating this room, but that wasn't his business.

"You get used to the cold." He said simply to Mikasa, ushering towards Kiri in an attempt to show his point. The boy didn't exactly seem to be dressed for the cold with his flowing clothing. "At least, that's what they tell me. Still waiting for that to take effect."

That was when Yuii entered, with Suika slowly in tow, once against speaking Ancient Kumo in front of visitors to the country. Sighing under his breath, he felt his left arm begin to burn as he caught sight of the blue hair of the Sennin, the sensation quickly spreading up his arm towards his chest. Gripping his left forearm with his right hand where the Mark of the King resided.

'Ohhh, it seems like Ms. Sennin is just like me.' A voice rang in the back of his head, one similar to his own but.. different. It was like someone was thinking for him in a sense. 'There can only be one alpha though, it seems like we know what I have to do.'

Gripping the mark tighter, trying to be subtle in his actions, he tried to quiet his mind. Why would he be thinking that of all things? Yuii was nothing like him. She wasn't an Uchiha, she wasn't from leaf.. what the hell did he mean? The medic in him was quickly becoming concerned at his confusion at his own thoughts. He finally clicked back to reality with the nickname drop that Yuii had dropped, as well as the garish sweater she wore. Though, the sweater was the most normal part of what was happening here.

"Alright, I suppose we'll have to have that talk then, vomit sweater," Maikeru responded, the words coming out before he even had time to register what he was saying. "But first, I do have to ask. How did your significant other let you leave the house wearing that? Might want to either check their eyes or their feelings for you. Because one of them is faulty."

His face was blank for a second as he looked upon the room, and the newcomer behind Yuii. It was a solid beat of conversation before it finally dawned on him, and his face paled as the repercussions of what he had said dawned on him.

"If uh, there's nothing else, I think it's best that I be getting back to the hospital.."

Despite being childish, Kiri was very much liking it for the time being. It was obvious in his sheepish grin as he entered their waiting room. The years of constant visiting had already gotten him comfortable with the interior design, so he quickly jumped onto the couch, bounced on him bum-bum for a bit before settling down. He wanted to make Mikasa feel welcomed, at the very least. When the other had commented about the weather, Kiri paused for a moment before speaking, “Well, it’s not like I don’t get cold. It’s just that I have other means to keep myself warm deep inside,” he said in a matter-of-factly tone while pointing to his chest. Then, as if to continue their talk, he glanced back to Mikasa and said, “Yeah, Junko-papa is currently busy with his… uh…. Journey of a lifetime. Even the family back home are a bit concerned with it, but since he’s okay, we just trust him. Oh and Kahako-mama is quite the charming Mednin. Too bad about her schedule, but don’t worry, I’m sure you’ll be able to get to talk to her before long.”

Just then, the doors opened once more and in came the Main Branch Sennin, Kagetsu Yuii – whom, as Kiri remembered as the woman that was almost married off to Osu. She was cute. But he had to keep in mind that the said woman was powerful and influential in the village. And then, as he glanced behind her, he saw a familiar face. It was Suika! They last saw each other during the Chuunin Exam he proctored a few years ago, and Suika was looking splendidly well. And though he was all smiles and waving his hand at her, Kiri suddenly pouted when Suika ignored him.

“Suika! It’s me, Kiri. You know, your teacher at one point, and exam proctor… mednin… under Osu-senpai… You remember Tea Country mission? The moody guy with chakra herbal cig?” he suddenly bolted out from the couch in an attempt to speak. He even made an angry face, and placed two finger in front of his lips and pretending to be smoking. But before he could get a reaction from her, both the Sennin and Mikasa went straight to business.

It would seem as though things would be far more complicated now, and while Kiri was still bubbling with childish energy from within, he didn’t want to be a burden. He sighed and then bowed towards Yuii’s direction. “I apologize for any confusion, Kagetsu-san. I’m Hasegawa Kiri of the Medical Branch. Perhaps the one and only interaction we had was true a letter of appraisal after the exam I proctored a few years ago. That aside, if you see it fit that I have no reason to be here, then I shall take my leave.”

Yuii's sky eyes flicked between Kiri and Maikeru, then, with great will, she inhaled and let the moment go. They would be dealt with later- not in front of guests.

"It is soft and warm," Yuii explained smoothly in response to the apparent medical sennin's compliment, offering the sleeve of her sweater for Mikasa to touch. It was a very soft sweater, like a kitten women into a fabric. She gave Mikasa's appearance a sympathetic smile, not because she looked unattractive, but because Yuii knew how the dry static that made one's hair stand up like that itched, or how irritating windburn could be. Yuii's brief travels to the fairer lands of their continent had made her compassionate to the weather-related woes of southerners. "There's no point in being cold just to be called beautiful," she added, eyes gleaming mirthfully, "Only a shallow, gnat of a human would take offence to how you look."

As it turned out, the call out had been prematurely labelled. Yuii made one, single frustrated note in the back of her throat as Mikasa produced her passport. "Medical Branch visit?" she said, mouthing the word medical with a hint of disdain, "Apologies. Someone jumped a few hedges instead of following the road on that call out." She took the document and studied it a moment then passed it over her shoulder to Suika to process. It was her young assistant's job to fill out forms, after all.

All the while she wondered why there had been such a leap of logic...

As she turned back around to address Mikasa, Maikeru interjected. She studied him silently and contemplated his request. He didn't look so good; maybe he knew was kind of fine hell she would be raining down upon him when they had that talk? Did he think he could hide in the hospital? Poor boy.

Kiri also took the opportunity to leave, though she barely gave him a glance. He hadn't insulted her.

"Go or stay, Edgy, it doesn't matter to me. You should see about a psych evaluation soon though. You seem off." she said with a sweet smile, blue eyes shimmering like a cat watching its prey struggle, "Bronze will make sure it happens." She half gestured to Suika then flicked her fingers towards the door dismissively. "Run along."

With that dealt with, Yuii was cleared to address the situation at hand. The room felt a little more relaxed now- and she wondered if they hadn't expected her to snap.

"Kurosawa, huh? Oh-" she mused aloud, "You were a candidate in the tournament, weren't you? I recognize your name now. My husband was as well. He was defeated by the fox woman in round one, and we didn't stay long afterwards." Yuii shrugged, studying Mikasa with renewed interest lit by meeting someone of renown. "Those we sent to fight are well known, even famous in some circles. Since our choices were very, hm, male, many of the village Kunoichi were looking outside of our ranks for someone to idolize during the main event. I dare say you're going to find yourself recognized in the streets if you're not careful."

Yuii glanced back at Suika to see if she was finished filling out the appropriate forms. She sighed, thought a moment, pinched the bridge of her nose, then sighed again. "I'm afraid I don't know shit about the Medical Summit in Kurosawa," she said bluntly," but I doubt you're lying. It doesn't really matter either since the treatise with Konohagakure also covers your visit- Umashiashiko- ko.... ko... help me out here, he was your Kage, not mine- Well, whatever, that's all covered by turtle sage with the ridiculous name's treatise which included the sharing of medical knowledge. It would be poor form to deny you entry." Just a feeling that there was something not being said- but that wasn't enough for such drastic action. There was one thing she could do though.

"There is only one trouble. The Medical Sennin is currently Shinrya Kahako, as Tsuyoshi Junko had taken a sabbatical to handle other affairs. However, Kahako is also engrossed in a very sensitive and time-consuming project that has made her incredibly difficult to contact. There are only two people who have the authority to directly reach her for an outside affair- her husband, our esteemed Raikage, Kogami Ayumu- and her Sesshou second in command, Chigokai Osuteno who runs most branch affairs. They're also the ones who will need to be informed you're here, and who would set my boots on fire if I just allowed you to show up at the hospital without their formal permission." She wrapped her knuckles across her chin thoughtfully, trying to decide what the best course of action would be. Taking Mikasa directly to the hospital meant she could possibly meet Osuteno- but it also meant going to the hospital. Yuii hated that place- she'd rather pull teeth out while screaming show tunes. Also, there were the nurses and the way they dressed...

That left Ayumu.

"Kogami-sama will be upset if he is robbed of the opportunity to meet a Sennin of our ally. You look cold and tired, but I'm going to need to insist I take you to meet him first. At the very least, I can promise the tower is well heated, comfortable, and I can make sure there's something passable to eat." Nodding to herself, Yuii stood and gestured to Suika to open the door. "Come on then, let's get this over with."

[Entrance Granted for Mikasa]

The Kumogakure Main Branch Sennin was blunt, yet Mikasa found nothing wrong with her mannerisms. Tenderly her sole gloved hand raises to press against her pursed lips, muffling a faint chuckle concerning the lack of the Kurosawa Medical Conference being publicized, "Unfortunately that would be the mistake of Byyako Kuji-san, Junko-san, Kahako-san - who was present, and myself for being under the radar with our discussions." she admits in a listless tone.

The notion of meeting the second in command of the Medical Branch would suffice, this would provide the medical kunoichi with sufficient information; or so the maiden would believe to hold true. "Of course, I wish to honor all customs the village of Kumogakure encourages. I am not a brute who believes my usual mannerisms and actions would be smiled on." Mikasa comments in a far more chipper tone, "You have my sincerest thanks for being able to converse with anyone within the village on such abrupt notice." she adds with a broadening grin.

Abruptly a roar of laughter erupts from her chapped lips, the travels had done quite a number on her features, yet she was still more than willing to lighten the mood whenever possible. "Lord Umashiki.. Umashiashika..bihiko." a pause ensues as Mikasa looks pained, her tongue clearly had been bitten into, "Bah! Lord Umashiashikabihikoji-sama. Quite the mouth full, which is why most of my homeland shortens it!" she exclaims while shaking her head, grungy platinum locks sway.

Pausing briefly, the Medical Sennin, rather former - yet in her mind still acting, found the opportunity to meet with the Raikage truly fascinating. "I'll place my faith in you, Yuii-san, you surely know what would be the best course of action." she responds, placing her hands behind her back and trudging forward in hopes of finding awe-inspiring scenes her tundra optics the woman had never seen prior. "I do hope so, I still am quite chilled." Mikasa adds in as a last bit of a quip.

[OOC: Topic Left, entering the village. MFT]

As Suika began to process the fair Leaf Sennin’s passport and entry request, she raised a brow when the child, who had an uncanny resemblance to Kiri, claimed to be Kiri himself. He even offered their shared experiences with each other as proof… it confused her, but she didn’t have the time to submit to her wonderings. Whether this kid was telling the truth or not, this wasn’t place to solve that mystery. Suika, instead, smiled and gestured a goodbye as the boy went his way.

As Yuii and Mikasa created small talk about fashion and frigid conditions of Kumogakure, she twitched ever-so-subtly when Maikeru, the former Leaf refugee, opened his mouth and openly insulted their Main Branch Sennin. Not that Suika was easily offended by a fool’s tongue, but his words did rub her the wrong way as they were directed to her leader. The visualization of punting his ungrateful Uchiha ass off this mountain and back to Konoha was what first scene that played out in her mind. What was he thinking? Tempted to shoot the boy a vindictive glare and then some, Yuii’s colorful words pacified her growing anger. By what she responded, the kunoichi knew she’d let him have it later. Instead, Suika grinned and cheekily replied as she finished up Mikasa’s paperwork. “A psych evaluation for Edgy McGee, got it.”

The women in the room continued their talk, much of which didn’t sound too important for the Chuunin to take note of. Officially finished processing the Leaf Sennin’s passport on Yuii’s cue, Suika handed Mikasa back her passport. “Everything appears correct, Mikasa-san, and you're good for entry. Welcome to Cloud,” she confirmed with a hospitable head bow. Suika slipped her fur coat back on and opened the door for both women to pass – to the Raikage’s office they went.
