Two months had passed since his lady had come out with the truth about her affair and about the children within her belly. He didn't spend much time with her the first two weeks following the 'talk' but soon he began to see her more regularly as the emotional wound scabbed over and had stopped bleeding so heavily.
The two went on a few dates in fact, ones they could attend in a private, yet not so intimate setting as a house. Saemon hadn't been ready to return to the closeness of a house and in fact, he couldn't even look at his own sink or her bed when he was at either house. It was then he made the decision to make a change a lot about his life. He needed to be away from the things that reminded him of what had happened in either place. He didn't know for sure that Toushin hadn't slept with her in HER house, so he never wanted to be there just in case. It was fouled for him.
Eventually he would take her to hotels for the night, spend money and try to make Kitanai feel doted upon instead of coming off as the man he really was; jealous and angry. He kept her from his house and himself from hers. Certainly she would begin to notice.
The last week however, he'd found what he was looking for. A foreclosure in the Diamond district. It was going for much less than it was worth. The story was that the woman who owned it had been too sad to keep up with the payments after her husband and son were killed in action. She wasn't a shinobi herself and wanted to leave the village, move to Kirigakure or something. So she let the house go into foreclosure after leaving one day, not caring. The man in charge of selling the house owed Saemon a personal debt for saving his life, so he was selling the place to him for almost half it's value.. which was still almost more than he could afford.
The down payment alone dug so deeply into his well of savings that he was left with almost nothing left. Luckily, the house also came furnished because the woman had left everything behind. Not letting the opportunity slip by, he agreed to the terms (that would surely have him working hard until he died) and signed the papers.
Three days after he got the keys, he decided to bring her there. He'd bought new beds for all the rooms and new dishes because he wanted his own, not something other people had eaten with/slept on. He also hired a maid to clean the house from top to bottom before he was ready.
So the day he went to pick his pregnant girlfriend up from her house, he hadn't even hinted at what they were doing, just asked her to come walk with him. He waited at the door, since he didn't feel right in just walking it, even now for her to answer.
