Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

As it had been for the past few days, it was a beautiful day in Wind Country as the final bell rung for the Academy today and the students had been dismissed from their classes. All the students were happily leaving their classrooms and heading home to spent time with their families or to get into trouble with their friends elsewhere in the village. However, one of the students had been slipped a piece of paper from a classmate in class about an unique individual who had been willing to give the student one on one training after class in a variety of different topics that the student saw himself struggling with. The individual in question appeared to have cat-like ears on his head and cat-like eyes while typically wearing clothing that was high-class for a commoner in the village, but not out of the ordinary for his clan or a formal event.

The note itself said the individual typically stayed in his office for half an hour after classes were finished for the day to do paperwork and all that this student would have to do was locate his office, knock on the door, and be prepared with his reasoning for why he was there. It appeared, according to the one who slipped the paper, that the man held some importance in the village and he seemed relatively busy all the time as he typically was reading through papers or writing something down as the student would approach his office and ask him to train him.

The question that had to be asked today for the student that received this note was simple. Would he "investigate" this individual and see what he had to offer or would he decide to just head out and go about his day. The note had to be tempting to say the very least if the student who passed it had seen significant improvement educationally which was exemplified in the classroom and in the field.

The red head sighed as he lifted his head from the desk as the bell rang. It had been about a month since he joined the academy and he already felt like he had overestimated himself. Not that he would let the stress of the situation show. He tried his best to hide his own frustrations. He couldn’t even do a simple transformation justu yet alone throw a shuriken with any accuracy. Seeing the older classmates excel and even some of the younger ones brought some wind out of his sales, but he had tried his best to keep the smile about him. It hard to.

He stared at the mysterious note he had received earlier, being quite lethargic about rising from his seat. Running a hand through his messy hair, he let out a sigh and folded the note to pocket it. He closed his eyes and for a moment was still, until he stood up, realizing he was the only one in the classroom now. Eyes opening he had made his decision, he would investigate this strange invite. He figured his benefactor sent the note as a rather polite way to be discrete.

Something frustrated him about this though. His failure, or lack of ability, had been so significant that someone felt the need to reach out and help him. His father was a shinobi! Why… why couldn’t he be as great as his dad, as his father made everything seem so simple. At least when he was alive. He didn’t want to be pitied or looked down on. He wanted to get it right. He wanted to be good, though he had the patience of a child.

Packing up his stuff, he slipped his bag over his shoulder and made his way out of the classroom. There were very few lingering students as they all had plans afterwards. Sato still was… Well he had a harder time fitting in because, unlike the other kids, he had very little training from his parents, his mother completely against this since the passing of this father. He was teased sometimes... but he tried to not let it bother him.

He slipped his hands in his pockets, one hand nervously clutching at the folded note, as he scanned the numbers on the doors trying to find the benefactors office. It took him a moment to find it as it was squirreled away were the more advanced classes were taught. He stood there and swallowed trying to find the courage to even knock.

His moment of hesitation was met with a small twisting in his stomach, the butterflies were at play as he let his nerves get the best of him. He took up his hand, and rapped once, twice, three times lightly on the door trying to build up the confidence to turn the knob. He would wait a minute, looking for a sign that it was ok to enter, before he would grab the knob and open the door, invite or not.

“Hello?” he asked, crimson mop of hair peeking past the door and into the office, “I, uh,” he felt like he was intruding even though he was invited, “I got your note.” He smiled sheepishly. Authority figures were different from dealing with the other kids. He tried his best to polite and compose himself.

As the descendant of the celestial beast known as Byakko continued his work in his office, he would hear a hand touch his doorknob which darted his attention to the entrance. The figure, who he would motion in with a hand gesture, would be someone probably in the academy that donned short, messy red hair and had a thin frame. It appeared from his seat that the boy was also quite short compared to his six foot body; then again, most of the village was shorter than him and also dressed less elegant than him. See, Kyuji dressed like the role that he was playing in his life which was the descendant of Lord Byakko who was one of the most powerful celestial beings in the world so he had dress like a god or his version of being a demigod.

In any case, the boy would give him a sheepish grin as he mentioned that he got Kyuji's note. However, Kyuji never sent a note out to the boy which was going to make everything more interesting to say the very least. With his own smile, he would look at the boy and respond with the following: "Please come in and take a seat so we can talk, young man. As for your note, I did not write that note to you nor have I sent out any notes recently. Are you sure that one of your classmates have not wrote the note to you? What does the note even mention?" This was odd to say the very least, but truly the Byakko family member had no idea what was going on and why this child was here. He would ponder potential reasons and the only ones that would make sense were he was sent for a disciplinary problem or wanted to be tutored to get better as a shinobi; in either case, he had come to the right fellow for the support but Kyuji would just stay quiet for now as his feline eyes would look past the boy as some of his colleagues would walk back.

The young student stepped forward into the office when he was gestured in. His eyes took a sweeping glance around, noting the paperwork the other was working on and the busyness of the office in general. He felt like he was interrupting, especially by the way the man dressed. Was he even a man? The question came to Sato’s mind when he happened upon those cat like ears and noticed his eyes. He did wonder what he just had walked into.

He shuffled quickly over to the nearest chair, to have a seat when he was instructed to. He sat on his hands to prevent himself from doing anything embarrassing like trying to touch the cat ears. Sato was very interested in the cat-like features and wondered if they were real or a product of a jutsu. His nervous grin turned to a nervous frown, his face crinkled up with a bit of confusion before he tried to think of a way to better explain himself. His mind was racing for an answer before he slowly produced the note from his pocket.

He unfolded it and looked it over again, “Well,” he said his face going a bit red. He placed it on the desk and slid it over, “It said to come, and that… you would be happy to help me.” He squirmed a bit, feeling put on the spot and uncomfortable. The way the man dressed, so formally, made him feel out of place and disjoint with his surroundings, like he was going to be judged by the way he dressed or even spoke. Which, probably wasn’t far from the truth.

His eyes shifted, and he kicked his feet while sitting in the chair, his legs dangling off it still as he wasn’t yet tall enough for them to reach the floor when he sat. He couldn’t bring himself to look the man in his cat-like eyes. He was such a fool coming here. “I…” he bit his lip. He wasn’t good at asking for help. “I want to be a great ninja like my father.” He told the man point blank, “But…” he felt like he could be honest here, “I.. Im no good at anything.” He half-whispered, “My mom says its for the better; that I shouldn’t push myself to follow in his footsteps, but I want to make him proud.” His voice was suddenly filled conviction.

“That’s… Why I came today.” He said softly, but the boy could barely get a handle on his ckara, yet alone do anything meaningful with it. He moved and looked up at the man, daring to hold his gaze, trying to appear more confident than he really was, trying not to shake or show just how upset he really was. Though his eyes were rather watery. He was being judged. He knew it.

After being gestured in, the boy would enter and take his seat in front of Kyuji placing his hands under him for some peculiar reasoning that the descendant of Byakko was unsure of. It couldn't possibly be because he appeared to have feline traits that everyone loved to touch for some odd reason, was it? That truly didn't matter right now as the boy's facial expressions had changed from that awkward grin to a frown and he seemed flustered to say the least. He really didn't need to worry about being embarrassed in front of Kyuji as the medical chief and teacher had been in his shoes at some point in the past so he was all too familiar with the body language and awkwardness of the boy; still, the boy would need to learn how to get himself together if he wanted to survive as a shinobi or he would be putting himself and his teammates in trouble.

Eventually, the boy would respond to Kyuji's question of what the piece of paper said and a gentle smile would surface on his face as he now understood what was going on. However before he could respond to the boy, he would continue stating that he wanted to be a great shinobi like his father, but he wasn't good at anything with his eyes becoming watery as he finished. At least he got to the point with Kyuji and he was here because he wanted help to become better. The question in Kyuji's mind now was who was the individual that sent him this way since there were a lot of people who came and went as they needed through his training, but it didn't matter as this kid was in front of him and he needed to give his attention ti him.

So that is exactly what he would do as he rose from his seat and placed his one and only hand on the boy's head as he bent over to be closer to the same height. Once he had gotten lower, he would tilt his head to the side as he spoke to the boy: "It's okay to cry in front of me. We are all humans after all and I had the same goal as you did when I was younger. Sadly, my parents died when I was young so cherish the time that you have with your mother and work hard and you can be a strong shinobi like me someday. Also, I am Byakko Kyuji but you already knew that since you found my office and have that note. There is a good few hours left till I am going to leave. So what do you want to learn first, Son? "

There was the opportunity for the young man to take it or leave it. Would he accept the help of this odd individual who looked like he morphed with a cat or would he simply think this was all a dream and walk away? Find out in the next episode of My Feline Academia.
