Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Young Hito found his way to the gates tonight, alone. He made sure he was alone for his journey, and prepared for his departure. He was ready to start his destiny out in the world, and it could no longer wait. He had run into a Titan Corp representative recently, and he knew he would be owing him the favor he promised. With that in mind, Hito knew it would be best for him to take his leave of the present village he was in, and take flight to his humble abode in the forest. He would await further instructions from Inuzura Gekido from there.

A shadow stepped out from behind a tree, the form was one Hito would be familiar with mask or not.

Hito. I didn't think you'd do this. Akira said reaching up to remove his mask.

Why are you attempting to sneak out of the gates at night? The boy wouldn't attack him, they both knew the difference in their abilities.

What on earth could have convinced this kid who had wanted to be an ANBU to flee.

Hito stopped and turned around to face Saito. "I have to keep a promise old man."

There wasn't much else to say over it, due to the fact that Hito couldn't exactly explain what had happened. "And nor did I."
Hito walked towards the giant, having been caught from leaving.

He had to keep a promise? Akira almost wanted to facepalm at such a bullshit poor excuse.

You had to keep a promise? What was that promise? He asked, a couple of wrinkles which hadn't been used in several years made an appearance. Akira was frowning again, and consciously was aware of it, this only ever seemed to happen when he was doing his job.

At least the kid wasn't continuing to try and leave. He'd either given up the attempt or he was coming to attack Akira. One was the right thing to do. The other was not.

Had everything the kid said to him previously been a lie? How much could he trust the youth of today if this was all their word was worth. They'd rather keep it to someone who seemingly demands they give up on anything and everything they'd earned in their lives so far to start anew. Pathetic.

"Inuzuka Gekido. But I owe him for helping me train. I won't run, and I won't attack you. I know I wouldn't stand a chance doing either." He watched the other frown and form an opinion, and Hito placed his hand on the others side, being as he was short compared to the other. "And, based on what your face is telling me, you're thinking of something to correct me. I guess I deserve it, old man. What do you suggest we do, and what happens now? Being as I am caught, my fate lies in your hands. If I live, I'll stay and still aspire to what I wanted to become, if not - then my pleasure of meeting you." He left it at that, being as he had already accepted his fate - whatever that might be. He wasn't afraid to die, but he wouldn't turn and run from it like a coward if it came to it.

But it's not as simple as just catching you and telling you off. We need to figure out the reason why you ran in the first place and come up with an answer which will mean you wont run again. That was the key here. Akira would find it hard to believe the kid at this moment onwards, after all he had promised to seek him out at the ANBU HQ for training... attempting to go missing went against that as ever being an option. For a kid who claimed that it was his word which caused him to go missing, he was breaking his word with Akira, which meant that it wasn't just simply his word which mattered, but in what regard he held the one he was speaking to.

Inuzuka Gekido thus was of a greater influence and greater importance to the boy than Akira was, which didn't really surprise Akira based on the few times they'd met. Yet Akira had hoped that they had some kind of connection. The boy had been very familiar with him at the class.

It was odd of course. Akira had asked what the promise was but received who it was to instead.

What did you promise to Gekido to force you to run?

"If he needs me, to be available. Being as I agreed to it without thinking, when he offered to train me. My fault really. But I don't go back on my words, or at least try not to. Really, I was just going to wait where I met him and train until he needed me. But," he shrugged, "I didn't think it through. Simply put, I only was going to run to be available where we met. Silly reason, I suppose, but then again," Hito looked up at Saito. "I'm a kid, the hell goes on in my mind doesn't always make sense. Besides, since you are here, you're a better teacher than he." Hito put it blunt and plain, and how he felt. He praised Saito while also just being honest and open about what he was thinking and doing. "What are your thoughts, Saito-sensei?"

My thoughts don't matter in this case. If you want to train with him why do you need to commit an act of treason to do so? Yes there was the excuse that he was a kid so could be making a mistake based on not thinking things through. In addition Akira would like to believe this with this kid as he didn't have as much to think about in Kumogakure. No parents, and Akira had seen his ability to make friends. So he knew the boy had no one to council about something like this.

If you want to train under this man then I see no issue with it. But perhaps you should earn your place as a Genin first, then leave the village legally.

He took a moment.

I understand that you promised him to be available when he needs you. But in this case you can't.

He looked down at the boy, he was only a child.

I was looking forward to training you, but I will only ever train those I feel are loyal to the protection of Kumogakure and its inhabitants. This is my village. That is how I want my students to feel as well. That this is their village, and because of that ownership they will do everything they can for it.

What matters here is what are your thoughts? If you want to keep to your word and you have communications with Gekido then perhaps you can contact him and tell him that you will come after your Genin exams? I'm sure you must be looking at taking them soon. Then you can keep to your word, do things legally and learn from this man.

A slight pause.

If you feel that you need to keep your word to him. Though there is another option.

Hito shook his head no. "Well, if you still will keep me and train me, I will atone for tonight, and we will not speak of it again, nor pursue this thought again until the time arrives. And, until that time, we can think of a way to keep my promise while not breaking my ties to the village. I'd rather have you as my council and instructor, old man. Do you agree? If so, let us be done with the night and you can have my word that I will not pursue this path again." With that, Hito leaned back against the tree Saito had came from when he had caught him attempting to leave the village.

until the time arrives... these words were the issue in Akira's mind.

We can forget tonight happened, I wont register you with a warning, and I will train you. But only if you give your word that when the time arrives you approach me before doing anything. His cyclopean gaze was fixed on the boy waiting for his answer.

He wanted to believe the kid, but Hito would need to earn Akira's trust. He'd been taken for a fool too many times, seen too many bad things in his life for him to simply take the boy at his word.

Still, his word was all he had at this moment in time, Akira would give him enough trust to earn it. To simply not trust would lead to a very lonely life.

"You have my word, old man. I'll come to you before I act."

With that, Hito made his way back into the village, having finalized his words with old man Saito. "I'll see you for classes or missions soon, then I take it?" And with that, Hito was gone, off into the night back to find a place to sleep for the night.

He let the kid go back into the village. He'd not report him in this case. The boy was only an academy student, he'd been caught easily enough and hadn't gone full retard like some had once he'd been caught. There was hope for him yet.

Akira hoped that the boy would keep to his word and would seek him out. Perhaps a stable figure in his life was what Hito needed, perhaps that was why he was willing to forsake his village and go to someone outside. For stability.

Looking at his hands for a moment he closed his eyes and sighed. Looked like he wasn't going to go back into retirement anytime soon.
