Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Sitting there pondering wasn't going to solve anything was it? Naoki nodded, taking in the information and rethinking her approach to the question put forth - whether or not Yumi's parents happened to be bad people because they left the place they'd originally settled in. "Ahh, then there's no problem... I mean, merchants just have to leave to find the best place to stay right? That's actually them doing their job, nothing bad about that." She ended it by nodding, and continued a little later once Yumi had made her next statement.

"Oh, I'm actually not sure where I was born... I mean, I was found in the Wind Country I think, waaay out there," she gestured in the direction she figured her parents lived, "And I guess I have lived in the village for a pretty long time, I mean... four years!" She announced this fact proudly, despite her obvious slow rise to any sort of stardom. "Guess that means I've been a genin for four years too though... I really need to get a promotion soon..." She scratched her head, laughing wryly.

After a bit of a pause however, the genin found there was another question she wanted to ask, and she just hoped it didn't betray her own wavering convictions at this point. "Hey um... So you've thought of why you wanna become a shinobi too right? Could you... tell me your reason?" If she could stare at this point in time, that's what she would've done on instinct; she knew on a deeper level that she needed a stronger reason, a certain anchor to keep her on this dream and not... stray. It's not like I need another reason, I just wanna know what hers is so we can... compare! Yep, that's it. Purely for research and stuff like that.

Naoki wasn't born here? That bit of revelation seemed to catch Yumi off guard enough to cause her to forget the other girl's borderline insulting statements from before, even if they weren't meant to be that way. "You weren't?" she asked, showing her obvious surprise. That meant that Naoki had only arrived at the village just a year before she had. "Wait... found? What do you mean found?" She had lived her her parents all her life, she couldn't imagine what Naoki atually could mean.

As she attempted to think all of that over she perked her head up in response to Naoki's final questions. Her eyes then averted themselves away from the other girl, her answer coming with obvious hesitation. "It was what... my mom and dad wanted." She honestly had no better reason than that. It was quite a silly reason, especially given that she didn't actually know the truth behind it, but such oblivious truths helped to keep her supported in these trying times.

"Ah," Understanding what her friend meant by the question somewhat slowly, since she was so used to it already, she replied, "My parents found me near the sea, along with a bunch of fishing stuff... But they weren't the ones who made me." Which was exactly how she thought if it, yep. "I don't really think about where I was really born anyway, so it doesn't make much of a difference," shrugging, she gave Yumi a carefree grin.

Something her parents wanted... The earlier cheeriness that returned from her earlier success in turning the mood around (or at least she thought so) was swiftly drained, stiffening for a moment as Yumi said it and shoulders drooping slightly afterwards. "I... I see..." she said, before correcting, almost on reflex, "Oh, not literally, I mean, uhh..." Chuckling nervously, she cleared her throat. "That's a great reason to have a dream. Thanks for telling me!"

Now somewhat cheerier, or as much as she could get regarding this, she shuffled a little nervously as she tried to change the subject to lighter topics. Okay, so that's that, and I probably shouldn't ask about any exam stuff or future things... So something that happens now? "Ah! Um, are you feeling hungry at all? Let's walk a bit around Suna, try and find the yummiest snack!" It was a pathetic attempt, but food was sadly at the forefront of her subject-changing topics.

Yumi's head perked up as Naoki suddenly joked, chuckled and replied with surprisingly appreciative enthusiasm. It wasn't out of character for the older girl, but it seemed to catch Yumi off guard nonetheless. Before she had much of a chance to question or protest Naoki went on with subject-changing food offers. As if on queue, her stomach silently nudged Yumi's liver in protest. School had let out a bit of a while ago and it was getting close to time for dinner after all. "Umm... I guess so?" She glanced over her shoulder towards the rest of the village away from the academy.

She turned back and tilted her head towards Naoki, a gesture of curiosity she had picked up somewhere. "Did you have something particular in mind?" Another thought came to her, but she suppressed the question down in favor of being tactful and because her stomach had somehow procured a knife and was threatening her if she did not appease the rogue organ.

"Hum! As a matter of fact, I've got a good idea of where we can go!" It was a certain ramen shop that she had in mind, which had some rather... interesting choices of ingredients, and she had been waiting to pull someone in there with her just in case she ordered wrong and couldn't get through the bowl. Of course, it received surprisingly good reviews from what she heard of those exiting the place... But it was just a tad too new age for her to willingly participate in without some form of company.

She led Yumi away from the area, picking up her bag as she did so and only somewhat sad about still not being able to play the kokyuu normally... But all that would come in time in any case. "I've got the main course, so you pick the place for dessert okay? Though depending on what we pick, we might not need dessert..." she trailed off, thinking. Wasn't there a dessert option in there somewhere...? I think there was anyway, and that'll make it a ton easier to keep things on budget. "How do you feel about fish by the way?" Naoki would make small talk like this as she led Yumi to the ramen shop in mind.
