Making it onto a village's bingo book was not a desirable or easy task to do. Many years ago, Anatsu managed to do just that by slaughtering several ANBU captains and fleeing the village hidden in the leaves. The once ANBU Captain had only returned home once since becoming a rogue ninja. It was a brief visit a few months ago. This was his second visit.
Most within the village did not know Anatsu. Considering the average life span of the shinobi, most of his academy friends were no longer alive. As for the rest, he was an ANBU.There are very few shinobi from bak in the day that Anatsu associated with at the time.
That being said, he did look the same, just a big older. After surviving the harsh weather conditions of Sunagakure, it was nice to be "home".
