Yuudai Kaito kicked his feet restlessly. He was sat on the rooftop edge of a tall building overlooking one of the endless crowded back streets of the Grand Palais, almost close enough to reach out and strike at the lightning chakra lights, staring ceaselessly down at the crowds making their way through Suna's least reputable district. Usually when in the Grand Palais Katio was indulging himself in the shady bars and ruthless gambling that are always close to hand, but this was the second time he'd found his way here on behalf of the Kage. In his hand he clutched a BINGO book entry. 'Name. Tanaka Kouki. The Candy Man. Middle aged. Average height. Blue eyes. Green glasses. Short hair and clean shaven.' He kept reciting the description over and over as he continued his vigil. 'Probably have a bag or a tool belt. Targets lone children. Promises games and sweets.' Suddenly, something down below caught his eye. One of the packs of kids was breaking up, heading apart to whatever homes or shelters they had. Now on his feet, Kaito made a split second decision on who to follow, setting up a tail on a red haired boy of about ten years old. He'd been searching for Tanaka for three days. In that time three bodies had turned up, one older one and two fresh corpses. In the back of his mind Kaito knew that the Grand Palais is huge area and that there are dozens of better trackers even amongst Sunagakure's newest ninja; but as he'd been examining the mission details he'd felt a feeling in his gut, one he recognised from his childish adventures. All the new information of the last few days just made him feel more confident in his predictions. He knew he'd get Tanaka Kouki. 'Hopefully before he gets anyone else..'
There was definitely someone else tailing the red headed boy. They'd been sticking to the shadows, and there was certainly no shortage of everyday pickpockets but Kaito felt his tension rising in expectation. He slowly, almost lovingly readied his scimitar, taking utmost care to avoid making any noise. 'Whatever sort of scum this is, it's not their night. But if it is Kouki..' Kaito smirked menacingly to himself, shifting to a better position to jump down into the alleyway.
The unsuspecting boy was settling down in the cover of a first floor fire escape, pulling some old cardboard boxes over himself in a pitiful manner. Kaito set aside any feelings the sight would usually stir in him, he couldn't let anything distract him right now. Besides, it would go worse for the kid if he did mess this up.
Almost seeming like a reward for his dedication, at that moment a man emerged from round the corner into the alley. A middle aged man wearing a small backpack, of average height with dark hair shaved close to his head and green glasses over blue eyes! Kaito's body almost seemed to lock complete up as he was nearly blown away with the desire to cut that false concerned face in half before he could take another step. “Not yet, not yet. Needs to be closer, can't miss. Wait! Wait!” The young teen whispered furiously to himself, now half crouched.
“Hey little buddy, you okay up there?” Kouki's voice was gentle and soothing as he crept up to stand beneath the fire escape. As soon as he came to a stop, staring up at the boy that had led them both here Kaito launched himself off the roof, calling the familiar rush of lightning chakra down his arm and through into his sword. Before the child could even finish peeking out behind his makeshift covers Kaito had crashed to the floor, savagely carving target from shoulder to hip in the process. Blood sprayed out as the kid screamed and fled further up the fire escape and Kaito knelt next to the fallen criminal. “In the name of Sunagakure and the Kazekage, die!” He spat the words in the murderer's face, uncaring whether he could understand or not. Mission complete, he beheaded the body and wiped his sword on it's clothes before setting off out of the Grand Palais to the Kazekage tower.
