Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Pacing his room of his office he would find himself looking around paperwork, trying to fixate himself on a chance to reconsider his wrongs. So much had happened in his life, and here another lonely night would be all he could show for it. He fell back into a position of Sennin... but a position that seemed to be more for show than anything. He was respected, but what did it matter if he couldnt make any real changes. Tamashii sat down under the light of a candle pondering everything, he didnt know where to go or where to turn. And he couldnt reach out for help, because for so long he had to be the strong one, he couldnt shake the emotion of being strong in the light of everything. Since Umashi had come back, everything changed... Tamashii knew the fairy tale of his life wouldnt end in happiness. Everyone he loved died or left him. Even his sister to an extent, but he forgave her. He, however, did not forgive himself... and at every turn his life seemed to shove the fact that he was alone in his face. Akumi had her work and her youth, she would find someone... Yomi had Umashi... Takeshi was married to the wonderful Yuki. The Sun had the Moon. The Stars had Each other paired off in constellations for the galaxies to see them glimmering in happiness as they shined down upon this world. How small they all were, how feeble the mind seemed to be to believe that they would be alone in this world...

Tamashii couldnt take it... the thoughts of everything running rampant through his mind. In the enclosed space of his brain he became claustrophobic, suffocating in his own mind and drowning in his loneliness. To which he turned to the bottle to escape it. And poisons mixed to forget the world he was in, to be happy again. To feel the emotions of euphoria again... To feel love as he did when Hakuren was still here with him. He could still feel her breath on his neck as they would grow closer to one another, even living with one another, but never being truly intimate. How he loved how simple she looked but beautiful all the same. It was like something out of a picture book he read about beautiful damsels... but he had failed his damsel. And she was no longer with him.

Taking another drink, Tamashii scribbled down as the tears seemed endlessly streaming from his face. 'Leave it all for Akumi... she will never want for anything.' nodding he would continue writing as he took another pill from the bottle given to him by Mikasa, she knew he was beaten down emotionally, and the medicine made it bearable, but Umashi's presence hurt him more and more as he saw him happy with his children. Wife by his side. And he had no chance of achieving the one thing that fleeted many shinobi. Something that seemed so close within Tamashii's grasp. So close, so near... he could taste it.

Holding unto everything, Tamashii continued to write, everything pouring out of him into the world around him, the heat of his chakra enveloping the room, but cooling down as he breathed. He couldnt keep this world that he loved so much, but hated all the same. He hated the time that he spent helping, but loved that the time he spent helping people led to growth. He loved that he was able to shake Jashin's will, but he was haunted by the demons that remained. Taunting him. He had to shut it all off, and as he continued taking the antidepressants, 'Who cares if one more shinobi dies... In a village of so many...', his hands grew shaky, and his heart continued to pump causing beads of sweat to drip from his head down below. The shaking couldnt stop, it prevented him from finishing his paper... no one would be here for the remainder of the night... but it didnt matter. Stardust laced in the bottle, alcohol itself was too much to take, but everything together stopped him...

Attempting to move himself, to get up, to prevent his body from shutting itself down, he fell to the floor as more sweat and tears fell to the floor. 'I dont want to die... I dont... I just want the pain to stop... p-..pl..plea-...' and his mind would slowly slip away from him. Rampant thoughts of anguish and detriment, but the whites of his eyes stirred. He wanted to be freed... and now he would be'd be free. Not in a way or manner that he wanted but... this was his last light.

Finally, it was done... and in his mind he would drift away as a smile would be the last expression left by Tama... finally free.
[spoilername="Dream Sequence"]And with his mind slowly drifting to the other side, Tamashii would be seen walking through a field of flowers. Daisies, roses, violets galore, and at the end of it all was a small picnic site with a woman standing there facing away, but she seemed to be wearing a shrine maiden's cloth and with short obsidian hair Tamashii's eyes would smile as his lips curled up.

"What took you so long?

"I'm sorry for making you wait... I held on for so long... but I missed you so much..."

"You did? It didnt seem like it... It seemed like you never loved me at all..."

"Wha-..What do you mean? I loved you from the m-"

Looking down now Tamashii would see the flowers were dried up... weeds of their former glory, and now... looking back up to Hakuren...

Alas... the story of a man who could have been fabled had ended, and not every story can have a glorious ending.... can they?

Akumi usually didn't visit her brother, but he was always staying late in his office. Tonight she wanted to go out with him, work could wait a little bit, right? She meant to visit him sooner but, she was busy. Maybe she was turning into her workaholic brother... Akumi walked into his office, where he usually was. "Hey Tamashii, let's go out-" She started then looked around. Where'd he go? it took a moment for her to see him on the ground. "Tama?..." She said softly then she went up to him quickly. Did he faint? Upon closer inspection, he wasn't breathing.

"Tama!!" Akumi screamed as loud as she could as if it wakes him up. She grabbed a headset that was laying on the desk, probably Tama's, and turned it on. It didn't matter who right now just anyone. "I need a medical team in Tamashii's office quickly, he's down, and not breathing." Her voice was shaky and panicked. If it was anyone else, she could keep her cool, but this was her own brother! The only person she had in this godforsaken village, and truly the only reason why she came back. "Tama, Don't do this, this isn't funny!" She yelled.

Akumi tried performing CPR on him, in a panic attempt to get him to breath again, but his body was already cold and starting to stiffen. "If I was here sooner...." She started but her voice went silent and her head fell onto his chest. She couldn't save him, she didn't understand why he was dead. Did someone kill him? Akumi was crying into her brother's chest, she didn't want to let go.

Kenshin was in his office. It was a quiet day for him. Nothing important going on and he was grading exams. It was exasperating at times but it needed to be done. Some students definitely needed extra lessons.

He heard a familiar voice over the radio. Akumi. It seemed Tamashii was in danger. He was no medic but he knew who was. In a flash, Kesnhin was moving, almost tearing the door off its hinges in his haste.

As he appeared in the doorway, he saw Akumi over the body.

Without saying a word, Kenshin would bite his thumb and form handsigns. Slamming his hand ont othe ground, a poof of smoke would appear and then drift away.

Standing in the smoke was a bipedal toad that came up to Kenshin's knee. She was different colors of blue with black spots. Her black eyes took in the scene.

"What'cha want Kenshin? Healing or battle this person?" she croaked at the pair of them.

"No fighting, Ren. Help that one." Kenshin said simply.

Ren looked for am oment.

"Right. I'll do that."

Ren walked over and performed a few handsigns before a massive amount of chakra began to move from her little form to Tamashii. She was a potent medical user and was pulling out all the stops.

Normally Umashi would have ignored such calls for fear of not allowing the medics to do their job. However, when the caller mentioned that the incident was in Tamashii's room, He wasn't breathing? Umashi knew that Tama had gone through a rough patch concerning Hakuren and then the whole "Birthing Incident", but he didn't think that it would come to the point where the Sennin would be giving up the ghost. Dropping everything that he was doing, Umashi flew out of his room, leaving the papers on his desk fluttering in his wake. Running down the hallway to Tama's official office, he didn't find the man there, nor the woman and instinctively he knew that whoever it was that had called in, had panicked and made a mistake in the location, it was his home office and not his village office The other medics probably wouldn't figure it out in time. Making a lone hand seal, Umashi manipulated the chakra within his body and he began to float just slightly off of the ground.

With gravity chakra to aid him, he took a running start and crashed through the slightly ajar window in the mans office and leaped into the night. Instinctively reaching for his head set, in his haste he realized that he'd forgotten it. With it being too late to turn around, Umashi wasn't able to call for back up but jumping from building to building with ease, he soon found himself at Tama's house. Landing with a earth rumbling thud, he entered through the broken door and followed the sound of the commotion. More appearing in the room than announcing himself, he only made a statement to announce himself and he was quickly off to work.
"How long has it been since he went unconscious?" Though he asked the question, he also attempted to physically move Kenshin and his darn amphibian friend out of the way at the same time. Stopping just briefly to enter Sage Mode, Umashi's eyes began to glow an eerie white as he continued the motion of clearing everyone from around Tama.

As if forgetting that yelling at a dying person wasn't always the most effective tactic, Umashi rolled up the sleeves of his medical gown and placed his hands on Tamashii's torso.
"Hey bro, I'm going to need you to breathe!" Pumping a copious amount of chakra into Tamashii's body, Umashi attempted to forcefully reconnect his dying body to the land of the living by manipulating the chakra in the room emanating from the living things within it. Every insect, every creature, every human and even then some, all lent just enough chakra for Umashi to give Tamashii the essence of life itself. Unfortunately for Umashi, what he hadn't counted on was so many in the room being connected to Tamashii emotionally enough to disrupt the tether that linked them. While he did manage to breathe some life back in to Tamashii, he also pulled himself, Akumi and the healing toad into Tamashii's consciousness. From the protective walls of the room to the black void that was Tamashii's current existence, the room became black with only the barest speck of light in the distance.

OOC: Entered the topic and used Sage Mode and Essence of Life on Tamashii, accidentally drawing Akumi, myself and Ren into his dark conciseness. (Per Tama's approval)
Essence of Life - B-Rank Ninjutsu

Chakra is life energy. All living beings, from humans, to plants and animals, to even demons, have chakra; this is the truth of the world. An Archsage that understands this may guide the flow of life in living creatures, and with a touch, can imbue the target with natural energy to strengthen their lifeforce.

Information
Prerequisites: Archsage, B-Rank

Rank 1: Infuses an ally with Natural Energy for two rounds. During this time, the target is considered Holy and any Hp/Cp recovery that effects them is 10% more effective. If cast with Senjutsu Manipulation, this may target up to two allies.
Mastered: Infuses an ally with Natural Energy for three rounds. During this time, the target is considered Holy and any Hp/Cp recovery that effects them is 10% more effective. If cast with Senjutsu Manipulation, this may target up to three allies.

Special Action - Life Manipulation: If the user's HP drops to 0 while Sage Mode is active, they may reflexively cast this jutsu upon themselves. This allows them to remain conscious until Sage Mode ends, at which point they are immediately KO'd for the remainder of battle (even if their HP is healed above 0). Any damage taken past 0 HP is also dealt directly to their Natural Energy pool.

Rank 1 Cost: 2.5 AP and 730 Cp
Master Rank Cost: 2.5 AP and 860 Cp

The days come that make you wonder why you get out of bed at all... if it had been raining outside the scene would be perfect, but the scene was something of a normal-esque night. Though, Akumi clinging to the body of her beloved brother, even Kenshin with his toad entering... and as they tried to bring life back into the body of the slowly growing cold Tamashii... time was of the essence. They would have to work fast... because Tamashii's body was frail with the poisons running through him. Maybe Toad Healing for this man was not what was needed... in his mind he was already checked out. Being carried away into the darkness by the Demons of Hell and Jashin themselves. Umashi's Presence only helped the situation, but hindered alot of it but alas that would be ventured into later...

As they would be swallowed up into the Jutsu of Umashi, they would be placed on the edge of darkness, slowly beginning to swallow up the light left in the remainder of the psyche of Tamashii, screams of the man heard in the distance would be heard, Tama was losing the grip on life... and what would the group do? How would the continue into the realms of consciousness that were left in Tamashii?

Akumi was weeping over her brother when Kenshin entered. She was too distraught to even notice him at the moment, it wasn't until she heard his voice that she knew someone heard her call. She did not look at Kenshin, she couldn't. She felt like she had failed her brother, if she was here sooner, she could have prevented this. A toad approached and tried a healing jutsu, but it was moot. His body was still growing cold.

Umashi came in a little bit after, he asked when did he go unconscious, he meant when did he die? No heartbeat, cold body, her brother was dead, not unconscious. She shook her head, "I don't know, he was like this when I came in..." She said as clearly as she could, but her voice was shaky, and she was almost choking on her words.

Umashi came over and started a jutsu. AKumi only glances at him for a moment, but she didn't have it in her to look at him in the eyes. He was pumping Chakra into Tama's body, Akumi hoped it would work, but she felt like it was too late. She closed her eyes, maybe this was just a bad dream? It felt like it, when Akumi opened her eyes again, it was dark. She blinked, and looked around, Umashi was there, and the toad too. She quickly stood.

"What happened?" Akumi questioned quickly, and then she rubbed her eyes. Her eyes were red, and her nose from crying. This didn't help her dream theory, but she knew this was real. she was just hoping it was a bad dream. She needed to calm down, and grip the situation, but she was still sniffling, and huffing a little bit. she still had a few leaky tears, as if she had been storing them this whole time.

AS Kenshin watched on, someone moved past him and even scooted Ren to the side.

"Oi watch it! I am healing here!" Ren croaked in outrage.

Kenshin and Ren watched Umashi change in appearance and then Umashi, Ren, and Akumi disappeared.

'What in the world is going on.' Kenshin thought as he examined Tamashii's body. IT was getting colder. Was the healing successful?

Kenshin looked for signs of poison since there was no obvious wounds. THat would make the most sense.

Darn it.

Kenshin began forming handsigns and placed his hands on Tamashii. He would feel for any poison and hopefully remove them. Why was everything such a crisis?

Ren on the other hand was confused for a moment.

"Oi little shinobi! Don't be givin up hope just yet! There are people here that don't want you to go! Fight on!" Ren said in her croaky voice. She wasn't sure where she was but she would try her best to heal from whereever she was.

Her tiny limbs formed more handsigns and she released another one of her strongest healing abilities.

His eyes not quickly coming into focus, Umashi soon realized that something had gone horribly wrong. Although it wasn't seen on his face, the way in which he looked around was a clear sign of not exactly expecting to be where they were. "Uhh, we're not in Kansas anymore . . ." Taking one step, and then another, though he couldn't hear much at first, the sound of Tamashi screaming slowly became audible to him as he looked around for where the sound was coming from, unable to find it, and hearing it slowly be pulled away from them, Umashi ignored the others and began to chase after the voice in the semi-dark world they were in. "Tamashii! Tamashii! Tamashii, hold on!" Chasing after the voice, Umashi gave little caution to what he might find, only that it was imperative that he find Tamashii quickly. Yomi would kill him if he allowed the Sennin to die, and Umashi would be truly saddened to lose such an old friend. Though they'd had their spats, nothing could amount to what would be lost if Tamashii didn't make it out of this one alive.

It was simply too late... As they entered they would be enveloped in darkness only to see the place which Tamashii had been dragged crumble... His mental state was crumbling, as his brain and subsequent consciousness would falter... he was drugged, so deep that it was apart of his blood stream, and with that he would no be able to come out of his comatose... as they would be able to keep his body alive, Tamashii was effectively brain dead and to people who could see and feel souls... his was no longer with his body. Though it was definitely not the last time they would see the man... but maybe... Maybe this would be the last time he would ever be alive? Who knew... but for now... His light... his candle had finally flickered out. With that they would all be pushed back out and spat out like they were sucked in.

Then again... Who cared...

Akumi looked at Umashi, and the frog, they both chased nothing, calling out for nothing. Akumi knew from the moment she saw him laying there on the ground, it was too late. Soon the world crumbled, and they were back in the real world, with Tama's dead body still on her lap. Akumi stared at his body in silence, she like her world was destroyed, she wanted to believe he could be saved, but he was gone. Akumi held her breath, and put her forehead on her brothers, and let out a sigh. There was no point anymore, this was just a dead piece of flesh now, even if she were to breathe life back into it, it wouldn't be Tama... Part of her wanted to, but she knew if she did, it'd just be a reminder of how she failed her brother, the last bit of her life that she was proud of was gone.

Akumi pushed his body off her lap and stood, she looked at his desk, at the pills, and the drink, he had done this to himself, didn't he? She wanted to believe that it was someone else, maybe someone tricked him into drinking poison? Her eyes caught something though, a letter addressed to her. There were a few others too, but she wouldn't glance at them. Akumi picked up the paper and glanced at it. She read it, once again she found herself holding her breath in an attempt to hold back any more emotions. After she was done the reading, she clenched the paper in her fists, holding it as tightly as she could.

Akumi quickly turned around and ran out the door, the letter still in hand, she ran out the door, down the hall, and into her own room slamming the door shut and locking it behind herself. She sat against the door so no one could enter even if they did manage to unlock it.
