Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Zenichi's questions became more specific as he shifted his focused to Moon country. The only person who had any relationship with Moon country was Hoshikata. Was the person he was referring to that same man? The question Shin had to answer required a binary response : yes or no.

"No. Who do you believe this person is?" Shin responded.

Zenichi was running head first into a trap being laid by the Cloud-nin. In his thirst to obtain knowledge of Moon country, he was eager to start any dialogue that could give him more knowledge. What he was failing to remember was that he was seen as a possible enemy to those in the room. Anything that comes out of his mouth would be scrutinized and peeled apart for a glimmer of what Zenichi's motives were. Zenichi couldn't be certain that Moon country wasn't a satellite militia of Cloud. A splinter cell that could carry out operations with impunity to Cloud. Plausible deniability is the political term used world wide. He had to feel them out and see if they have any kind of allegiances with Moon.

The fact that the main interrogator seemed to key in on Zenichi asking about someone specific instead of just being a general assumption that it was being lead by a single person lead Zenichi to believe there was more knowledge there than Shin was allowing to be known.

Rumors have spread across the winds about a sudden change in Moon's politics. Quaint ideals like being a truly neutral country seems like a cover to me. A wolf in sheep's clothing. But, at the same time, if it was to be true, it could be the start of something miraculous. I aim to figure out which is the the more probable. Seeing as Cloud is the closest to it's border, I would only assume that some of the key players have some kind of association with Kumo. Poor countries don't have the abilities to train Ninja's above a certain level.

Although, there are rumors that a former Mizukage is also involved so this may be a plot against Cloud where Mist can deny involvement. That Moon is a rogue state.

See where information can be more valuable than a blade? It can be just as deadly too.

Zenichi would see how they reacted to this info. It could backfire in his face but simple questions and answers weren't going to bring the truth to the surface. If he wanted answers, he was going to need to put them on the defensive.

Shin did not know much about Moon country but he would agree with Zenichi that country was pursuing a more neutral government, whatever that entail was anyone's guess. The way Zenichi described the country gave the impression that their neutrality was not as innocent as it appeared. It was curious to note that the only person that Shin knew that advocated Moon was Hoshikata. He believed that Moon's neutrality would be the best venue to support a kage summit with him as the liaison, but after hearing Zenchi it would seem that there could be a hidden agenda. Regardless, it was all rumors and nothing more. Why would the raikage spend his energy on mere heresy, perhaps Zenichi was simply creating propaganda to make himself useful.

Shin turned toward Deta not showing any expression as the shadowy continue to watch Zenichi. The rest of them stood by remaining quiet and waited for Shin's decision.

"You have must have something than just mere rumors to trade. I am aware of Moon's country neutrality but what value would a former mizukage have against a village who hold refugees from his or her village?" Shin said.

Zenichi started to notice a partnership between the shadowy figure and the man leading the questions. At first, it seemed as if the entity of the room was more of a evil presence but now Zenichi wondered if it was something more. A spirit bound to Shin or maybe a curse of the same ilk. The foreign tongue the apparition spoke had startled him so he didn't really examine what or who this guy was. Now that he has had a moment, he realized that Shin changed tones directly after the shadow figure appeared. He would watch them closer to see if any more information could be gained about who exactly the people before him really were.

His shackles were starting to rub his wrist. He twisted them a bit to see if a looser position could be found. Unfortunately, it was true to form and too tight.

Rumors and speculation are all I have right now. Going to Moon's front door won't bring about any answers either. I will be finding out some, if not all, of the answers I'm looking for. I realize that you have no obligation to help me but if you seek the same answers I do, wouldn't it be in your best interest to allow me to venture forth?

It was a long shot but he had to try and get them on his side.

At least the man admitted that he nothing to offer besides rumors but at least offer the chance to gain real information which is why he came here in the first place. The only problem Shin had with Zenchi was the simple fact that he did not trust him. If he had simply followed the proper protocol he would not have a problem with him. If Shin let this infraction slide it would pose more problems for those who come in a similar manner. However, Zenichi could be of some use to the village.

Shin sighed. "Very well, but you will not find any information here. I will permit one day of rest but in the morning you will be required to leave the village. You can contact me again through an authorized courier or telegram. I would like for you to know that according to Kumogakurian law you should be sentenced to prison but you may provide some use to the village. I would advice you to not disappoint us."

Shin waved his hand toward Senka and Ayumu. "The ANBU will escort you for the time being. If there are any more questions please state them now."

Zenichi felt the tension in the air subside as Shin stated he could be allowed to leave. He wasn't sure if he should be watching his back as he left the village or not but felt Shin was being honest with him. Zenichi was a bit dismayed that the interrogator didn't seem to want to hire Zenichi to gain information about Moon. It would just be too good of a deal to get paid for the same information twice. Zenichi knew he had to get something out of this mistake, even if it was just a contact.

That is most merciful of you.... I'm sorry, I don't think I've caught any of your names. May I ask for your name and titles? I was born without a family name but joined the Senju clan when I was recruited very young. I go by Senju Zenichi where my former home of Konoha once stood. As the rains drowned the only place I ever lived, it washed away my affiliation with the Senju too. So now I am a man without a nation or a family. Zenichi.

"I am sorry that you lost your clan. I can understand the sentiment as one of the few survivors of my family. One advice that I can bestow upon you is that as long as you honor your clan you will never loose it." Shin said. Shin glanced back at the shrouded figure reminding himself of his burden.

"I am the eight raikage, Hayata Shin. My comrades are Kogami Ayumu, our ANBU Sennin, Senka, an ANBU guard, and..." Shin said as gesturing his hand at each of them as he identified to Zenichi but paused as he stopped at the dark figure. Shin had not intention or the time to explain who or what was Deta. "A personal associate of mine. I would like to say one last thing Zenichi-san. In the future I hope one day we and the surrounding nations can help rebuild Konohagakure and your nation, but until honor the village that you are in."

Honor was a term that Zenichi felt was lost in translation when talking about the Senju Clan. They spent more time living in riches than growing in knowledge and power. They hid behind their compound walls and worshipped the great red tree. But when the rains came, instead of holding where their roots stood strong, they simply found another place to call home. Zenichi wondered where Overlord Kazuki finally stopped moving and what miserable excuse of a clan he managed to keep whole. Once he finished his mission with Moon, he would have to find those answers. A plan was slowly forming in his mind, only to be lost for the next few months when the Raikage formally introduced himself

Zenichi was instantly floored when Shin said that he was the Eight Raikage. So much so that he barely heard the names of the rest of the group. It wasn’t until he started to introduce the strange creature in the room that his attention was drawn back in. Assumptions are often times misleading. The contrast between Kami, Sousuke, and Hayate Shin were so drastic that Zenichi couldn’t find one thing they had in common other than they were all Male. And since Sousuke rarely too off his (Ironman) suit, his gender was speculative at best.

I feel like the greatest failure possible, sir Raikage. It’s one thing to fail in a task among your peers. It’s completely another to show you are inept before a potential employer. I’ll get you some information on Moon, free of charge. Hopefully that will show you what I’m capable of.
