Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Previously: Jomei has placed a request for his graduation review board, and none other than Kamaru has answered his call for progress. Upon discovering Jomei's determination despite a violation of procedure, Kamaru has elected to test Jomei one last time before graduation. His task: to find and provide evidence of a special customer who held a balcony view at a local cafe. An obscure request indeed. Will this be a walk in the park for the Arachninja-to-be, or will this final task be more than meets the eye?
------
It didn't take long for Jomei to arrive on Aventurine Street. By this time the sun was high over the horizon, and a crowd had gathered along the village's busiest strip of land. People bounced from small stands to the more luxurious shops, up and down the curving path. Jomei still huffed from his high-speed exercise. As usual, he swung via webbing and rushed to the area Kamaru mentioned, and did so in record time. He refused to accept failure, especially when the task seemed anything but difficult. But Jomei knew Kamaru well enough; there was going to be a twist to this mission, at some point or another. Rather than trust the knowledge of the locals, Jomei revealed his most trusted instrument; his camera. The small invention was a rare machine given to him by a grateful friend after a good deed, and the machine always proved useful. He had arrived on the rooftop of a dentistry somewhere along the strip, and used his camera from this vantage point to search far and wide. The camera came in a kit including several interchangeable lenses, all made of light plastics and fine glass. of which he switched to a long-range telephoto. It was not a conventional ninja tool, but Jomei was no conventional ninja. He raised the camera to his left eye and began to scan the perimeter for any sign of his destined coffee house.

Scanning people and shops in the area Jomei realized something, there were a lot of shops to scan over using his camera. He might have had an easier time if he had a name of the café or even the logo when looking at signs would probably come to mind for the young boy. Scanning the area he would probably blink seeing someone he wasn’t expect to see walking up to a street vendor in the bussle of the crowd wearing a bright red fez. Kamaru? Or at least someone looking like him. If Jomei focused his camera in on the person he couldn’t get a good look at the man’s face to verify. Although Kamaru had said he would be getting a cup of coffee from the staff room, was it a lie? Why was he even here? How’d he get here so quick? Regardless of the questions forming if watched Jomei would notice the man looking like Kamaru got some kind of pastry from the guy and put the fez on top the man’s cart sign when the vendor wasn’t looking before paying and walking away, he seemed to have a small brown sack as well tucked under his arm. Although following the man who may be Kamaru through the crowd was a bit difficult without the red fez on his head it looked like he was walking back to the Spartan Quarter’s District. It made Jomei think about his options on what to do next.

(OoC: Options - Ignore possible Kamaru looking person and keep searching for the target café, tail the Kamaru lookalike headed to the Spartan Quarter’s District away from where the café might be, or investigate the vendor’s stall and interview the vendor for details on the customer).

In the fleeting moment, Jomei swung into action. He crossed the street and landed on a power pole that stood over the street, and attempted to get a closer look at the familiar shape weaving through the crowd. Without the unfashionable head gear, he was indistinguishable from the other bobbing mop tops. First Jomei stole the fez, and inspected it from on high. A "thwip" sound was the only sign of his actions. A single web snatched the hat without alerting the pastry chef, which was busy with a line of costumers on this busy day. Jomei searched underneath the cap for a mark of ownership before leaping down from his roost.

"Hey, I think that guy forgot his hat" Jomei alerted the chef as he arose from his crouching position. He merely landed, but acted as if he just picked the hat up from the street. He even patted the dust off.
"Is he a regular here? Do you know his name?" Jomei was badgering the busy cart chef; he'd probably tell anything he knew in order to get rid of the nuisance ninja. "Maybe he's headed for the cafe. Which way is it, again? I'll hurry and try to catch up with him."

With such a busy area underneath him Jomei lost sight of the man but due to the bustle no one missed the brightly colored fez as it was acquired. Searching inside Jomei found it odd when he pulled a brown matchbook out from under a seem inside with a motif of a cat’s outline labeled “Stoney Cat Café”. Inside a message might make the boy raise an eyebrow.

”Matchbook Inside Cover” said:
Never said where I’d go for the beans. –K

Talking to the vendor got a side glance as he worked before his eyes rose up into the sky while thinking it seemed about the line of questioning. ”Guy with a red fez? Face like a dead person? Wasn’t a regular and I didn’t know his name. Looking at his eyes was creepy… like dead beady eyes made of black rocks…creepy. No idea about a café or where he was headed, couldn’t tell which way he was headed but he seemed to be in a hurry though. Nice hat kid, if you don’t find him I’d keep it.” he explained before going back to work.

Although he didn’t get exact directions from the vendor at least he knew where the man in the red fez might have been. The man was lost in the crowd if he was still around now but Jomei felt he found everything he could from the vendor and his cart unless he wanted a pastry.

(OoC: Café name found. Option, look around for it solo or start asking passersby if they've seen it or canvas them for a man meeting the red fez man's description.)

The description given painted a portrait of none other than Kamaru. Jomei hardly had time to be suspicious of him before all clues pointed to him like a big, red, glowing sign. However, nothing was ever as it seemed. As it stood, his task was not to find Kamaru. Steady on his path, Jomei believed that where he found the cafe, he'd find Kamaru as well. And once he found Kamaru, that mystery would solve itself.

Following his better judgement, Jomei purchased a pastry to support local business and left the stand. Now his was standing firmly on square two, opposed to one. He placed the fez atop his head. Perhaps that would draw out more clues as he paraded down the street in one of the village's most well-known hats. It was then that Jomei found a peddler asking for food on a corner. He approached the elderly man who was lacking in teeth and needed a bath. Though the homeless were scoundrels, nothing occurred in these streets without them knowing. This one held up a sign seeking aid, and Jomei sought him out and offered the danish he had for a little information. "Hey buddy. Here's a little something to help you out, if you'd like. Think you could point me towards to the Stoney Cat Cafe?"

The man regarded the young man in the fez as he started to ask him a question. He eyed the boy his eyes narrowing before he got up into a squat and inspected the offered pastry from different angles as if checking it for traps. A finger shot at to poke the pastry before he tumbled backwards covering up as if it would explode his arms up in a guard. Satisfied and possibly a little off the man stood upright, a wiry man regarded the boy looking fearlessly at him and strolled up to close the distance again.

”Three intersections down on the right, should see a bar sign that’s pretty big, look next to it and you’ll see a smaller brown sign with a design to look like the outline of half a cat’s silhouette in green. There’s a statue just inside the front that looks like a cat. Kinda heavy, it’s probably made of stone considering the name of the place.” he explained point off in the direction he stated before putting out his hand palm up for payment.

With the man’s immediate presence Jomei would notice the man’s odor was starting to sting his eyes. The man seemed to possibly have been working out while carrying manure and garbage in the hot sun or Jomei was being poisoned. Was his mind playing tricks on his, he could always see the wavey stinky lines around the man. Or was the dust in the air trying to get away from his funk?

(OoC: Almost exact directions acquired, by-passer waiting payment for information.)

Jomei pitched the old man his danish, as promised. The geriatric gentleman ripping through the pastry was enough of a cue for Jomei to carry on with his business. He made himself scarce and scooted off to The Stoney Cat Cafe, where he expected to find Kamaru's next game.

A little time passed before Jomei arrived on the front steps of the Stoney Cat Cafe. It was just as the beggar depicted: carved from stone and gaudy as all get out. The scent of fresh java gave his senses a jump start. Upon entering, sounds of a busy mid-day crowd resonated within. Jomei had come during the lunch hours where couples came on small dates, and old friends caught up with each other. Jomei developed the hunch that the second floor view was perfect for a lonely main branch head who sneaks off for brunch tea. Jomei's fear that his own graduate exam would end like Gasu's exam had quickly devolved into an understanding of the real task. He almost wanted to feel a slight sense of danger, but was content with playing detective a little longer.

In an attempt to conduct his task without drawing attention, Jomei first ordered a chai tea with cream and honey. He asked for a venti-sized drink while making generic small talk with a waitress about the biscotti she suggested to him. All the meanwhile Jomei passively swept the room for clues.

Walking away from the man devouring the Danish he heard a sudden cackle, ”Fuji! I’ve been reborn I can finally continue my training to become a world famous cliff diver!!!!” the beggard roared sprinting off into the crowd. Either the spectacle or getting the smell caught on people’s clothing got them to part for the man to run through. Jomei would probably question the man’s honesty until he saw with his own eyes the place he described and entered the place called The Stoney Cat Café.

It seemed like a normal little café, prices were decent, place looked clean, staff was friendly. Jomei reflected after looking around for a bit figuring out where the area was Kamaru had been talking about this exam being pretty easy and hearing the cautionary tale from a fellow student. Jomei’s order came promptly and small talk with his waitress seemed to be going fine although it was odd that she said he ‘looked cute like this’. Thoughts of the waitress flirting with him even though she probably had a few years on him seemed odd. Jomei would notice someone staring at him, another young man with a wash rag in hand. Jomei didn’t know why the boy was squinting at him until the guy giving him the stink eye looked towards the wall at a large sign:
Customers: If your table isn’t clean when you come in and sit down your entire order is FREE!

Jomei’s gaze meet the other boy’s again and things started to click when the onlooker started shaking his head. His body language seemed to be saying, 'Not today.' With the sight of the boy dashing towards the second balcony on the backs of chairs before leaping high into the air and forming hand seals everything seemed to slow down for Jomei with a few possibilities came to mind and started to click when he started to feel gusts of wind.

1) Wearing the Red Fez like the man thought to be Kamaru made people think Jomei was Kamaru which meant his waitress thought he was Kamaru possibly
2) With the thought of a free order being given out if you end up sitting at a dirty table, the bus boy was on the move to clean up something upstairs, probably all the tables.
3) If the bus boy cleaned up the area, dirty coffee cup, a used napkin, all evidence on the table would be gone.
4) The possibility Kamaru was a cheap guy and may have done this trick before came to mind but was dismissed since it was time to focus.

(OoC: Bus boy’s got a head start and is doing something mid air, what do you do?)

As Jomei induldged in the cage experience, small signs of Kamaru's reputation came to affect his visit. The place was busy enough to collect a line of patrons behind Jomei at the register, only two or three people though. The busboy was making his rounds and posed the only clear threat to Jomei's operation. He made himself a problem and had to go away this instant.

In a desperate attempt to create a distraction, Jomei made himself popular enough at the counter. He was chatting with the cashier about gluten proteins as she handed him his order, and fuddled the pass. The lid popped loose and hot tea leaked onto their hands. Jomei let out a yelp as his tea spilled and ran rampant. "Ah I'm so sorry" he whined while stepping back. Disappointment echoed from the other customers like a whispering hiss. Embarrassment flooded the cashier's face in the form of rosey cheeks. And Jomei caused the room to stand still as he made the situation worse by trying to clean the mess himself. "Let me get it" he requested. He was just spreading the mess until the cashier screamed for the bus boy to come help this instance, before the manager came back.

Jomei backed away from the counter at the cashier's request, and walked away with an emphasis on acting awkward. He would have passed by the same busboy along the staircase as he went up and the worker came down. He kindly whispered "sorry buddy" as he walked by, and turned his attention to the balcony seating selection. If this was Kamaru's favorite cafe, he'd have to make sure the mop water didn't make it into his drink next time he came by... The crew couldn't stop giving him dirty looks as he made his way to the second floor tables.

It was a nice plan, getting the bus boy to do his job where the most customers would be angry. A smooth move getting Jomei dibs it seemed on bounding up the stairs first. The crowd grumbled and sighed as if being hung by having to wait longer with a call from the cashier to come clean up the mess.

Midair the boy finished his gestures hearing Jomei’s apology and smirked, ”You’re not sorry at all! You just did ‘that’ this past Tuesday!” the boy roared upside down in midair before expelling air from his lungs in a single go pushing him up to the railing on the second floor. Getting there at the same time as Jomei they each had a chance to grab a table in question out of the small amount available. The bus boy’s eyes kept darting from one to the other before he suddenly dropped down to sitting on the rail and scratched his head.

Suddenly he jumped up and pointed at a scrap of paper on the ground, ”Doesn’t count! Not on da table. You’re not getting a free order this time old man! Nice try… must be cause you’re all old and slow. And a stupid face” the bus boy said doing a victory dance before someone screamed in a shrill voice for him to get his butt down and clean up. The boy hoped down landing loudly before going back to his duties and apologizing to the customers waiting. Jomei could inspect the table but besides the paper nothing seemed to be out of place. All tidy, upon closer examination the scrap of paper had a small rock in the shape of a cat curled up holding it in place on the ground so it wouldn’t blow away.
How do you find out things you can’t see or haven’t been there to see and prove it? Use your head, at least four parts should do it. -K

Jomei slowed once he closed in on the table. He was distracted by regret, busy apologizing rather than focusing on what clues he'd find next. He gestured bows between every step, totaling ten times. The other customers and patrons gave Jomei an assortment of side eyes and dirty looks as he inspected the table he fought so hard for. To the crowd he looked more like a penny pinching buffoon in a fez who was determined to ruin the atmosphere.

A moment of clarity in his inspection yielded all the results he needed. There was a stone on the floor by a table leg with a strip of paper pinned beneath it. Jomei swiped the paper. Before he even bothered to read the strip, he turned his attention to the crowd, which had already left the moment behind.

The busboy was nearly finished by the time Jomei returned to the register. The cashier turned her back as if she'd refuse service, and a young lady whispered an insult about his arms below her breath as he passed by. Jomei had grown so popular, so quickly. “Seriously, I’m sorry” Jomei admitted. The crew wasn't amused or endeared by his attempt to make peace. He snatched the hat off his head and held up the small strip of paper. “I’m the student of the fezzed-man who usually comes here… master Kamaru. I actually came here trying to find a clue he left me. It’s my graduate exam. See, this is what I came for.”

First, Jomei read the riddle to himself, an answer didn't surface instantly. He then shared the riddle to the whole room: “How do you find out things you can’t see or haven’t been there to see and prove it? Use your head, at least four parts should do it.” There was a uniform murmuring from the crowd as everyone from the cashier and crew, to the few coffee sippers at their tables.

Jomei collected riddle and recited it to cafe, seeking answers.

Lost in his own world for a few seconds Jomei’s mind thought of the cryptic message trying to peace together what the examiner meant by the message. All these slight clue and twists in turns were kind of a becoming bothersome. With the realization it was late afternoon the search had taken a little longer than expect when he came to his current obstacle. Jomei tried to appeal to the crowd seriously this time which garnered him mixed results, while some had dismissed it as an accident, others shot him side glances having their daily routine slowed down, others seemed to stare blankly at him already having forgotten about it.

Putting the cards on the table Jomei opted to be straight up and honest with the people and explained the situation and the message on the note. There was a bit of whispering from some others already dismissed it. Out of the general silence a squeaky voice piped up.

”Someone should thank that nice bus boy for cleaning up the mess… maybe even give him a rai-“ someone quibbled before a metal serving tray flew out of the cashiers had seeking in on its prey knocking the bus boy mimicking an old ladies voice from in the crowd.

”Idiot you dad doesn’t even pay you! Get back to work.” the cashier from before reminded him holding up another tray, between getting chai on her, angry customers, and an idiot brother she seemed to slowly be going to a dark place her eyes flashing red and smiling before turning to take the next customer order with a pleasant smile. The bus boy shook slightly in a fetal position for a bit getting several laughs from the crowd. The mood lightened and things went back to a casual vibe.

With a massive knot already forming on his head the bus boy stood in front of Jomei, ”So if you figure it out and go back you graduate… maybe I should go back in your place and graduate due to my superior intellect…” the bus boy mused smirking before going into an obnoxious laugh. He suddenly stopped and shivered and turned to see his older sister looking at him.

”Here’s the deal, I’ll give you a hint if you wait and bus tables for two hours. You inl?” the boy explained holding up two fingers.

Jomei could probably use the clue, but free labor was the bus boy’s job not his. Was it worth the valuable time he had left before the end of the day?

(OoC: Burn two hours of daylight for the clue which would cut it close to get back or figure out another way to solve the exam.)

The busboy was full of fun and games, but his elder sister kept him in check. Their family business element began to shine as the sibling employees contemplated helping Jomei. They proved to be of little assistance to Jomei, and the busboy tried to trick him into a little work. "Nice try" Jomei replied, "but if you really knew the answer, you wouldn't make me wait two hours for it." With that said, Jomei took his fez and planted it on the busboy's crown. "And you can have this... let it remind you of your favorite patron." The boy grabbed the cap off his head and held it dearly as he chuckled. Perhaps he'd keep it as a souvenir, or his own clue to identify the real Kamaru next time.

Alas, Jomei's time to leave had come. He did stay to chat and loiter for another fifteen minutes, but that counted for nothing. Before leaving, he used his camera to take a picture of himself with the brother and sister employees. The primitive flash nearly blinded them all. Good times, good selfie. He had made some friends this afternoon and it wouldn't be his last trip to the Stony Cat Cafe, but it was time for him to be going. Jomei had to make his return to none other than the ninja academy, as it was time to share the answer with his master. By the time Jomei returned to campus, It was later in the afternoon and the sun painted the white walls a shade of gold. He marched through the halls with two beverages, both webbed in place to a disposable drink carrier. Somehow, Jomei web-slang himself all the way back without spilling the drinks. He now came searching for Kamaru. He rapped on a glass-pained wooden door aptly labeled the "staff room", and welcomed himself to entering. As for the answer to the riddle, Jomei believed that he had developed one; as web slinging always managed to clear his head.

Jomei has chosen his answer, and returns to the academy with three forms of proof, to be revealed.

The bus boy shrugged, ”Or I figure'd I have you do my light work for me.” the bus boy shot back. With pictures taken Jomei found his way back to the academy and the appointed room to find Kamaru sipping espresso with an empty plate in front of him. He regarded the boy before extended a hand in front of him at the chairs. The files were gone and for the most part it just looked like a guy on break.

” Matsui.” Kamaru simply stated and folded his hands in his lap.

Jomei took a seat opposite to Kamaru and revealed a 4x6 photo from his jacket pocket. The photo was an endearing one which summarized his experience at The Stoney Cat. It was a landscaped photo of Jomei standing between the cafe siblings; Aimi the cashier and Kenta the busboy. Jomei held up the camera with two hands, while resting two arms across their shoulders, and making bunny arms behind their heads simultaneous. Kenta was wearing Kamaru's fez, and Aimi's apron was stained with Chai tea. Jomei grinned as he handed in the photo. On the backside he had written the riddle Kamaru left behind.

"So, I think I have an answer for your riddle" he said, emphasizing think as he said it. "The Academy."
Jomei paused as if he waited for a crack in Kamaru's deadpan expression. The silence was unbearable, even for a second. Jomei turned his attention to the drink carrier for a moment and began to work the beverages free from the tangled webbing. "Schools provide students with an education on things they don't know, or places too dangerous for them to see for themselves. And to receive the education, all you need is your mind, or the four parts... I still don't have that part figured out, but I figured you meant four elements of perseverance, or the arms and legs." As he spoke, Jomei took one of the drinks marked with a K and slid it across the table. It was the same drink the cafe's profiled fez-man was known for ordering; presumably better than the swill brewed in the teacher's lounge.

Kamaru looked at the picture and stared at the young man during his explanation. He was silent for a bit requesting the picture wordlessly. Kamaru eventually put the picture down before he replied.

”The note was mostly a hint as to what to do if you were at a loss on how to complete the task. Although cryptic it wasn’t supposed to be a riddle but I guess I can see it that way, I don’t always think I should tell students exactly how to accomplish things since it implies there’s only one way to do things. Or it gets them use to just follow orders in a literal sense, thinking on your own will be something you will need in the field as part of a team or as a leader.” Kamaru admitted leaning back, ”Earlier today the task was to bring me proof that someone was at the far east table. Do you think you have accomplished this task and why?” asked Kamaru simply.

Jomei took his photo back and stowed it away. It meant more to him than evidence. Jomei valued the people he met, the people of the village he sought to protect. Now he sat in this room with Kamaru. The tasks he spent his day completing was not a test of Jomei's abilities as a ninja, that was clear. Kamaru was leading up to a point, but Jomei couldn't see it with an attempted homicide on fighting for his attention. Jomei gripped the edge of his seat and reminisced over the imagery burned into his retina by sharingan yesterday. Kamaru knew about the attack on the student Jomei met at the hospital, Gasu. Was that why he failed to test Jomei practically?

"Ok, umm..." Jomei was at a loss and had to turn his attention back to the trial. He had to elaborate. "My evidence indicates that you were at the Stoney Cat Cafe, sitting at the far east table. First, you sent me to find out something specific, something you all ready know because you're familiar with it." Jomei flashed back to a memory of the fez-wearing man doing ballet spins through the academy halls on his first day in class. "I spotted you on the street from afar, and you bought something from the baker. You're not very memorable without your fez on, so the cafe staff didn't recognize you. But I guess they were just oblivious, because they confused me for you when I wore it."

Jomei went silent to take another sip of his own bitter drink.
"To be honest, I was expecting something way different today. Yesterday I met another student who was mutilated by his instructor during a trial... Gasu, he's a member of the Ryujin family. Does he ring a bell? He was even left for dead. While I didn't expect you to saw one of my arms off, I did expect a bit more of a challeng. I mean, what happened to him isn't how the academy really works, is it?" Jomei knew Kamaru had to be abreast to what happened to Gasu, in fact Gasu said so.

Kamaru nodded as the boy explained himself even stressing his concerns. ”Being a student some people think instructors should tell you something, you recite it and you’ve learned something. While this does give you theory it really gives you no hand on experience on how to apply it. Giving you some information but not all will be something you might have to deal with in the field, figuring the minor and specifics out on the fly or as things change. I’ve actually never worn a fez, it was a cheap hat I bought since it’d be easier to spot me in and for people to remember me by if you asked people if they had seen me. And yes it was me. The photo in a way proves I was there since you had the fez I was wearing in the picture; if you didn’t have it you probably could have just taken a picture of the boy or yourself. I never said that the someone had to be me, specifically. Or you could have just asked people if they had seen a man in a red fez get a written description of the person up there and have them sign it and come back as well. There wasn’t one answer but multiple answers to reach the solution. The test was to see if you can accomplish a task with limited knowledge which you did. Getting into the Main Branch isn’t overly complicated, it’s the Main Branch and the work horse of the village” Kamaru explained.

”Oh you passed by the way and I can see your concerns for that young man. All I have investigated so far is that he completed one class and the other never got reported as completed. Also he applied for a different branch, different proctor, different person designing the exam, who I still need to interview on the matter. If you were expecting something more combat I guess you could have requested such the job isn’t always going got be busting skulls though and if you wanted to see all combat all the time you probably should have gone for the ANBU in training exam in truth. There will be plenty of time to get combat experience in the field though regardless of the branch though I think. For now I don’t have all the facts and details to get an informed decision and like you today until I get all the facts I don’t know where I’m going with it. But that’s mostly for Gasu and the Ryuujin’s to think about. You’re welcome to come back and sit in on more classes if you like at the academy but for now you’ve gotten in a few classes and shown some skills. Today’s exam is being written up as counting for a class in investigation as well so you meet requirements across the board. Besides possibly giving you a mission for idle hands I should probably tell you… You know the bus boy can spit in a cup of coffee from ten meters away right? That’s why I just buy the beans and brew my own here…” Kamaru finished realizing the boy was sitting one of the two drinks, ”IF the other one is for me I’ll have to decline… I like mine spit free whenever possible.” Kamaru added avoiding the container on the table.

(OoC: Exam passed. You are officially promoted to a Genin of the Stone Main Branch. Use this post for paper trailing and proof as needed.)

Kamaru's spit comment didn't effect Jomei, he continued to enjoy his drink with confidence that Kenta did not spit in it. The power of trust. If the drink was tainted, the taste was not. "Sensei, would it be okay if I went to talk with the Ryujin family? There has to be something we can do." The conversation had moved forward, but Jomei was stuck on the particulars of the Gasu Ryujin case "I believe he has something drastic planned, and there needs to be an intervention before he gets himself hurt, or worse."

Little did Jomei know that the hand of fate had already rolled the dice for Gasu, and that Jomei was preparing to take action long after the fact. But such knowledge hadn't made it into common hands yet. Kamaru either didn't know, or neglected to bring Jomei deeper into the conspiracy. "If I have the clearance, I want to start an investigation, and I'll keep quiet about it. Trying to make a difference in our village is every ninja's responsibility, master. I know there are things in the dark that I won't see coming, but I'm not afraid. There's something big going on here and you know it more than anyone..." Jomei sought to scratch the surface while he had Kamaru's full attention. Jomei was exposed to a flood if intel by his acquaintance, and felt the responsibility to discern fact from fiction. According to Gasu's warning, the village itself was at stake.

"You're welcome to request an audience to talk with the family, I had something similar in mind once I finished my own research. But the choices of the family and the student are their own really. In that we have to respect their wishes and actions." Kamaru stated. "That's the bad thing about being afraid, although fear cripples some people with the thoughts of what may happen, it also keeps you on your toes. I have someone in mind to try and keep you on your toes though. As for an investigation you can talk to the family or the boy. Certain records you are not privy to and I'll be looking into those myself. What I know about and what I don't know about are left to be seen I guess." Kamaru said scratching his chin and taking his dishes to the sink and cleaning them.

"Congratulations on your promotion. Have a good day Matsui. Kamaru stated getting ready to leave.
